Base Design

Hello.I've been using airtable to create a database for equipment files in a research facility.Now I would like to use it to organize our team weekly tasks calendar. Some of these tasks are performed on equipment that is in my first database.We are a team of 17 co-workers and most of the tasks need to be performed every day of the week in a set of locations (rooms). We always assign each task-location to one or 2 co-workers. There are some tasks performed only in specific days of the week in specific locations. Altough the tasks-location combo for each day of the week repeats between weeks, we keep the assigned co-worked in a rotation basis and this assignement is done on the week befire, to take into account their availability.I need help creating a base were we can have our tasks weekly calendar connected to the equipment database so people can record the maintenance/cleaning procedures performed in each serial number, and at the same time to generate a calendar view for each co-work

I've built a task list table, and have some recurring tasks that comes with sub tasks in another table that are linked.I am hoping that when my Task is completed, airtable will create the exact same task, except to change the dead line based a formula field, and link up to a new set of sub tasks also created once this main task is done.I am doing this because I want to keep record of when the records were completed, using the last modified date field.Is this possible? 

i am strugling to figureout how to solve a need: i have built a CRM, i have +1000 recordsone table is the company list and one is the people listthen i need to manage different campaigns related to the list of my companies as an example "fundrasising event 1" and "fundraising event 2"for each of this campaigns i need several columns like (owner, status, notes, ...) till now i have managed this need adding same columns on the main company table.. fundrasising event 1 - ownerfundrasising event 1 - statusfundrasising event 1 - notesfundrasising event 1 - ...fundrasising event 2 - ownerfundrasising event 2 - statusfundrasising event 2 - notesfundrasising event 2 - ... but like this is not really scalablei was thinking to mange all campaign in a dedicated table the problem is that it look like there is not a way to make a kind ok join-right having all the company names prelisted i should associate any company record to a specific record of the campaign tab

Hi there! We run various festivals and events, and have a base of around 400-500 volunteers who help us out on these events. For our last event, we moved all volunteer management over to Airtable which worked like a charm. I have all my volunteers in one table (with their personal data such as emails, phone numbers, food allergies etc.), and in another table I have the available time slots from our last event, such as "Ticketing on July 2nd from 0900-1000". I used a form under my Volunteer-table to fill the vacant time slots for our last event.Now, I've set up the time slots for our next event in a third table, and would like to reach out to our volunteers and ask them to sign up. However, I already have most of their data, so ideally, I would enable them to update their records with their chosen new time slots. If not, I would get a lot of duplicate records. Are there any way to do this? Ideally I would also enable the volunteer to update some of their record data.I've seen some

I have been using airtable for a few weeks now and I am struggling to build the correct base that allows all of my data to link correctly.I am coach of a sporting team.  There is roughly 50 people on the team.I have created a base for the playersProblem moving forward is they have quarterly KPI's and testing.  So when I have been trying to organise accordingly, I almost feel as if I am inserting the same data againI also want to keep data of each game they play and because an individuals data is different, that is also an issue.  If anyone can help that would be great.Video is belowhttps://www.loom.com/share/bbdf849bbe814c1c864f4c61a070f652

Hi all...I'm sure this has been asked before so apologies for asking again. I have searched but any article I think might give me the guidance I need ends up getting confusing...possibly due to my lack of understanding but I think at this stage, my best option is to ask myself.I've created a purchase order system and it's all working fine except for one thing. For the purchase order number, I want it to be "Year-Cost Centre-Number" with the number component being a sequential count of previous orders for that same cost centre. Hello eveybody, I am wondering if it is possible, when we want to add a new record (in a linked record field) not to have the possibility to select from an existing record but only to add a new one. Indeed, we are using in some cases this functionnality for part of the tram to link some procedure or consultation to a specific case (we go legal work) but the team seem confused when the list of existing consultations appear. We would like to give them only the possibility to create a new entry. Is it a possibility? I am also wondering if the preview of the record can be limited to the name of the record and not to include all those many information (also confusing the team a lot).  Thanks in advance.  

I am building an inventory management base for my business and am running into a design problem:1. I have a table for parts.2. I also have a table for assemblies. Each assembly record has a field that links to multiple records from the parts table.Simple, however, I want to be able to say how many of each part goes into an assembly. Parts go into different assemblies in different quantities, so that data can’t (and shouldn’t) be stored in the part record.How can I say one assembly uses 2 of a part and a different assembly uses 3 of that part. (And I need a table of all the assemblies.) Hope that makes sense! I would appreciate any solutions.

I have a base that stores plant information, including photos of each plant in an attachment field. I use a formula to put the attachment URL into a field. Here's what I do with that information to create a web map of my plants:1. Download a CSV of a table that contains the relevant data, including the attachment URLs.2. Upload the CSV into ArcGIS Online to serve as the data for a web map.3. Use the Attachment URL field data to display the plant photos in map pop-ups. You can see the result here. My attachment URLs are still working, but I know at some point they will switch to expiring URLs. Hey Airtable community,My service business has multiple income streams, ranging from one-time to ongoing projects.I am attempting to create a table that can total both one-time revenue and requiring revenue for the month that income comes in. I am having a hard time getting my head around how to do this.I first have a date column with the date the project started and then a formula column that formates the date to just the month so that I can group by month.Currently, I'm only accounting for one-time revenue. I was thinking I could create another date column with automation to duplicate on the same day every month for recurring payments. From here, I don't know how I would total both one-time and recurring payments in a given month?Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I run a small company that makes products using parts from an inventory and sells them to vendors. I'm trying to achieve the following - I receive an order, I enter the order as an invoice which includes all the information about which products are ordered, the database checks the amount of raw parts I have in stock and tells me whether I have enough to make the products in the order. Currently I have few tables with junctions between them - a table with a list of parts, a table with the details of products and what parts are needed to make them, a table with a list of products with each product as a one line entry. Then I have invoices and a junction with invoice detail which use the product information. Currently I am using a one line entry to indicate whether an invoice is yet to be made or completed, I want a system that will tell me which parts I need to complete an invoice and then whether I have enough, which parts of the order can be made ok and which can't. I have a problem with CSV import that is messing up all the data. When I try to import CSV with more than one record with the same Primary field name, it updates another field to be the same. For example: Data 1:  Frederik (Primary Field) | Kiyomizu 1 (Field) Data 2:  Frederik (Primary Field) | Kiyomizu 2 (Field) Data 3:  Frederik (Primary Field) | Kiyomizu 3 (Field) It updates as: Data 1:  Frederik (Primary Field) | Kiyomizu 1 (Field) Data 2:  Frederik (Primary Field) | Kiyomizu 1 (Field)  <--- incorrect data in fieldData 3:  Frederik (Primary Field) | Kiyomizu 1 (Field)  <--- incorrect data in field Is there any way to work around this glitch? Please bear with me since I'm new to Airtable and this is hard to explain.  I've inherited a base which contains details on job descriptions which is to be used to merge into a Formstack docs.Main Tab lists the details of each job description in rows. (eg. title, reports to, requirements level, requirements...).  2nd Tab contains job requirement levels in rows.  (eg Level 1, Level 2...)  A column in this second tab contains bulleted lists of the requirements.  The main tab has a column for Requirement Level(s) and a job can have multiple levels linking to the records in the 2nd tab. So this column has links to multiple records/levels. The problem is with a lookup field/column in this main tab. It pulls Levels requirements (pulling from multiple records if more than one Level). So returning and combining bulleted lists from multiple records.However when it does this, it will automatically adds a comma into the lookup field between the bulleted lists from the rec

I have one table in a base that has a list of different artists under management, the "Artists Base", lets say group A, group B, group C, etc. In another table of contacts, I have a field that is a link to the "Artists Base". Instead of selecting all the artists from group A, is there a way I can create a group tag to assign all artists in Group A to a particular contact?

I have a course of instruction which is 65 days long.  Inside of each day I have specific learning objectives to accomplish.  Currently my objective table links to a course flow table which is 65 days of training.  Along with these 2 tables is an instructor table and a table which covers the 20 teams we have coming through the course’s start date and graduation date for this fiscal year.  My question, is there an easier way to populate in a calendar the 65 days of training for each team to be only on week days based off the start and graduation date table?  I have tried creating a specific table addressing every day of the week, however it is quite time consuming especially when dealing with 20 different teams each covering 65 days of training.  Thank you for your time.

Hi all,I think I'm close, but I just can't workout how to get the forecasting base I'm building to show Monthly sales vs Monthly Forecasts when I want to track them across an additional split out by stream.I have this Monthly table linked to the projects table, but only solution I can see next is to pull in Each Stream's target as a look up field regardless if it's relevant to that project. Monthly ForecastingProject TableI'm also trying to see if I can get it to work visually instead using the Chart Extension, so any advice there also welcome. And please - if this isn't clear enough - do ask questions! Hi, I'm a complete beginner to airtable so sorry if this is a dumb question, but here goes anyway.. I created a product table which is a collection of parts grouped by name. I want to then use the name of each product as a single select field in a new table, but instead I get all the entries for every part within that product.Ultimately I want to display price information for each product - sum of all the parts cost, wholesale price etc.

HiI have two tables - Registration and BookingsBoth tables relate to the same customers.Customers submit their Registration forms and they are updated at least annually. There is an automation that links new or updated Registration records to another table, which has a roll-up to find the most recently created record for each customer. There is a formula field in the Registration table that compares the created date of a record to the most recent date from the roll-up. I filter on that formula field so in the Registration table I only see the most recent submission although all previous submissions are still available.Customers submit a Booking form every time they want to make a booking so there may be a number of booking records for each customer.I would like to link the tables so that I can create a view which has the most recent Registration record and all the Booking records for each customer.What is the best/simplest way to do this.Thank you.
