Interface Designer

Hello, I designed an interface with some nice stats and graphs only to discover that I can only share it with Airtable registered users. This is very annoying as I cannot ask clients or occasional collaborators, which often aren't even that tech-smart, to sign up to a dedicated service, even if it's free.Can you please allow us the possibility to share an interface in read-only mode with anyone who is provided with the link, just as google docs does?

I'm building a CRM for my friend running a coaching business. There are two tables I would like to surface at the same time in a single interface "Sessions" & "Client"I want to create a user friendly view where she can see today's sessions - she can take notes etc for each session, and also have relevant client details up. (I've done a little mockup to explain)I know I can use Lookup fields to surface this information, but is there a cleaner way so I can simply open the Client details when a Session is selected (I'm using Record View but there might be another option)Any advice appreciated! 🤗

I have an interface form set up as an intake form for employee changes.  There is logic built where different fields show up to be filled in depending on what is selected.  It works well for individual employee change but I would like to enable a requester to submit more than 1 change without filling out a new form. For example, I have 2 employees I would like to promote and want to select different reasons for each and for employee 1 there would be a position number change while employee 2 does not.  Ideally, the same fields/logic already built can show up for employee 2, 3, etc so they can run through the same questions.  Also, is it possible for form / base to have an embedded table (similar to google sheet) where they can fill in for multiple employees at once.  

It's past May 17th and I still don't have the left navigation UI referenced in the help article "Getting started with Airtable Interface Designer." I'm missing the "add element" button. Anyone else with this issue?

I created an "upgraded" form and gave users commenter access to the base and workspace. However, when they try to upload a file (images to be specific), they get an "invalid permissions" error. Is there a setting that I am missing? I tried out this setup with the old forms and it seemed to work. 

I know this should be easy, but I'm new to Airtable and apparently missing something obvious.I want to let users add a new contact to my base.I have a People table and a Companies table.  They are joined with a multi-to-multi Roles table [Person, Company, Job Title].I've built a form to accept a new People record, but:1) How do I detect if a matching record already exists.  If it does, I don't want to create a duplicate2) I want the form to also ask for the new contact's company and create a new Role. But, I can't ask for Company in a form on People, If, instead, I put the form on Role, then I can't create a new Person or Company; I can only accept existing ones.My assumption is that I'm trying to force the system to act in a way it doesn't want. And, that's fine. I'm new to Airtable and 100% comfortable restructuring my base to work in a natural way.So, my broader question is: how do I setup a base so

In the iOS app, I can edit all types of fields in the interfaces except the "Link to another record" fields. I can view related fields, but I can't link or unlink them, although I can do that on the web. Is this a bug?

Hey All.Curious how I might set this up.  Here's what I need.I have a form that interested parties need to fill out, an application.We review the potentials, and start the first pass of approvals/denials.The next stage is taking those that enter the next pass to be reviewed by instructors(who have their own base with info that can be a linked record to draw from)So we have a list of of records/attendeesWhat I want to be able to do is have each of the instructors to see the applicant, and make their ratings on each person/attendee/record.I'd thought of setting up like dynamic tables:Then I want an interface that makes it easier for the instructor to quickly rate each individual/potential attendee.  I think I'm almost there, but not sure.Thanks!Sean 

I used to be able to allow users to create new records on linked fields but now I can't find this functionatlity. There was a toggle, editible and allow users to create a new field. This also applied to single select or multiple select categories. Is there a way to turn this feature back on? 

I see a strange behaviour in detail views (when you allow user to open record detail on a list/grid..) in Interfaces. There are 2 pages on separate interfaces. Both pages have a Grid view for the same linked record field. However, when I click on "customize" under allow users to open record details in the properties panel, the detail views available are entirely different. Even if I create a new detail view, it doesn't show up in the other interface. Completely perplexed!  Any clue what's happening here?Can't share any screenshots as there is confidential data. 

Hey guys!I have a question about dates showing up on the timeline view. I have a table for schedules with a start date and an end date. By default if it's a single date (milestone) it fills out the start date if you build the schedule in calendar (as my company does). The calendar can show both records with single dates and records with a start and end date, but the timeline doesn't. It only show records with both start and end dates. Does anyone know of a way around this?My current workaround is I have an automation that changes the default start date to an end date when the record is created, but this causes it's own problems.Thanks!

I would like my base's users to be able to create interfaces so that they can work with the data exactly how they need, however I do not want to grant them creator privileges. I also do not want them to be able to share interfaces (or event better if possible, share only within our organization). Is this possible?

I'm trying out interfaces for the first time but I am a little lost in the UI for how to do the following. Essentially I want a list of projects as one column and a list of tasks in the 2nd column.  When I select a project on the left I want the right hand list column to show the tasks associated with that selected project.  Is this possible.  I realize I can do this with a drop down picker but that is not the interface I really want.

Hi everyone, I’m a free user currently testing AITable to potentially implement it in our ad agency. I’ve created a content calendar that includes a status field with options like “approved,” “reproved,” and others. My question is for those of you who are paid users: Is it possible to share an interface with a client where they can only comment and change the status (for example, from “review” to “approved”)? Hi everyoneI am working on an Interface that has "Projects" and "Tasks". Now in the "Project" Record Page I have a Grid view of "Tasks". How can I set it to only show Tasks that are linked to the current Project? Like this basically Thanks a lot!

I am working on an interface for my installers to use in the field. I'd like to add a way for the installer to upload photos. The twist is that I'd like to only have my installers on as commenters, not editors. Is there a way I can set a button to allow the installers to upload a photo to the record?

Hi everyone, I created an interface form to collect data for a program application. One of the questions is a date field that asks the applicant to select a date for an event. When clicking on the date, it automatically opens up a calendar widget which is not very user friendly because you have to manually go back month by month to find the necessary date. Is there a way to disable the calendar widget from popping out? Thank you!

How can I give users who don't have AT license, the ability to add/update/delete data?1. Obviously I can build a form, but that only allows adding, but no update/delete.2. With interfaces, I can build full access functionality, but it is disabled for non-licensed users, giving them only view-only mode.What am I missing?

Hi, I'm really new to Airtable. I was wondering if there was a way to add a button to make fields editable for the Record Detail template. Basically, I want to be able to edit and update the current record on the Record Detail.

We have a paid Teams license - just a few seats for the development team.Am I right in thinking that if we share an Interface by email as readonly, then that doesn't require a paid license for that user?We were going to use Softr as the front end, but it looks like Interfaces gives us better functionality.  

I've created a Grid View in my base, and created a specific order by dragging and dropping records (not using a Sort condition). When I share the view, the order is preserved. When I add the view to an interface, the order is NOT preserved. What are my options? Is this a bug that will be fixed? Is there an easy way to create a priority field of some sort instead that will auto-change when I re-order the records based on changing priorities? 

Hello,I'm looking for a way to filter records dynamically similar to currently available options "Current user" and "Current user's email". What I have in mind is a formula field in the database that outputs something like "@acme.com", "@company.org". Then, in the interface designer I would like to set up a filter that filters all records and shows them to the user of this domain. A similar feature is available in forms sharing permissions, where I can share a form with users from the specific domain.Thanks to this feature, I could have one interface with dynamic filters, where the user with email ending with "@acme.com" would see all records associated to this company.The current workaround would be creating separate interfaces and sharing them with the necessary users, but if I'm providing services to multiple companies and want to implement some changes or upgrades to the interface, I have to reproduce it in all the separate views.

I've done a lot of searching and tried a variety of suggestions but I can't get this to work.  I'm trying to make the viewing of record details in an interface very intuitive for the user.  Here is what I've tried:1. Button Field URL Formula: CONCATENATE("https://airtable.com/appxxxxxxx/pagxxxxxxxx" & RECORD_ID()) and CONCATENATE("https://airtable.com/appxxxxxx/pagxxxxxx?detail=" & RECORD_ID()) 2. Created a URL field that contains variations of the URL shown above in #1, along with a Button field that references that field in the formula.3. I found some information that suggested how to get the URL of the record detail view in an interface, but the format of the URL looks nothing like what is posted.  This is the format I read that I'd find when I got the

Interface designer is nice but on mobile it’s quite pointless and I hope I’m mmissing something. Wouldn’t want to use a 3rd party for building interfaces. the list views show a random number of fields see sceenshot below. How can this be fixed? Also, to add a record - you need to ba an editor. So bad 😞 I have loads of people only doing that. Submitting records. Now I must make a workaround - because through a form it works
