Hello all, I am new to airtable.I am looking to create a table for a collection management, in each row a new item. In the columns will be item details (image, description, size etc). Those columuns have to be "view only"The idea is to share the list with other people that they can manage their own collection, so there should be three columns that everyone can individually tick off "in possesion" / dropdown "how many spares" / write in "ordered from".These individal details should not be visible to everybody else, nor me as the creator. From time to time I will have to add a new items/rows to the list.Is it possible to create it in airtable? Thanks for your help
Hi allI want to build an Enquiry form that will have prefilled information and prefilled options based off the logged in user. e.g. they may have multiple delivery locationsI also want to have an option to create more options for adding products (as per below)Thanks!
I never need a field to be not editable. Only a few people use the base and everyone needs to access everything (it's a CRM). Having to set every single field on every single table and view and every place you ever see a field value. It's really awful.
Hi all,1. In my Interface dashboard, I'd like to be able to display the percentage of companies I got in touch with against the monthly goal of companies to contact. As of now, I visualized this as a bar chart, but I would like instead to visualize it as a progress bar.2. In my pie chart below, I get percent values with one decimal digit. Instead, I would like to display integers, but I couldn't find a feature to edit the number formatting.Do you guys know if what I'm looking for is possible? Thanks.PS: I saw that people had already asked a similar question, but since the threads were quite old I thought I might as well resurface the topic.
I have a set of Businesses on Table A and a Form that will create a new User for Table B. I want a User to search through the Businesses using an Interface, click on a button from a specific Business record, and then be able to fill out a form that will create a new User record on Table B that is linked to a Business on Table A. (Does that makes sense?)Is there a way to do this in one step? I see where I can "Go to external URL" to launch the New User form, but is there a way to simultaneously copy the Business record information as I launch the new User form? Is there a better way to think about this?Automations make the most sense because I can only select one button Action, but is there a way to launch a Form via Automations?
When making an Automation to email me when a form is submitted (as this apparently isn't an option built into the form anymore?) When I select the 'When a Form is submitted' Trigger Type, I can't find the form in the drop down...Any thoughts?
Problem Explanation:I need help with sharing specific records in an Airtable interface with various teams that I work with, without exposing the underlying data. Here are the details:Objective: Share the interface and only specific records with the team but not the base, ensuring team members see only their team's records.Current Method: Using the interface share button to share the interface, not the base.Challenge: I do not want to add team members as collaborators to the base to filter records based on their email or collaborator column.Limitations: Creating separate interfaces for each team to share with is inefficient and not scalable, especially since team sizes vary from one to twenty members.Question:What is the best way to filter records for each team and its team members when they log into the interface, without allowing them access to the base?Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
It is quite disappointing logging into the new interface today. Already it has caused inconvenience to its users and I hope users will get the option to choose the interface that works best for them. One major issue is the inability to sort workspaces in the order you want, which can make it challenging to find specific workspaces quickly, especially if you have many of them. Another issue is the inability to rearrange bases by dragging and dropping, which was a convenient feature that saved users time and effort. Furthermore, when you click on any workspace interface, accessing the home page is not as easy as it used to be. This can be frustrating for users who need to quickly navigate to the home page to access essential features and information.Lastly, some users may feel that the new interface looks outdated compared to the previous version. The visual aspect of an interface can be just as important as its functionality. A modern and visually appealing interface can make
Is there a way/hack to select the same object multiple times in multiple-select? I'm collecting information about tickets and some individuals' have multiple tickets of the same type. Thanks!
Hi all,I'm building a List InterfaceIn that list, I have enabled the "Edit records inline" setting. Now, all fields, even the ones that have been locked in the underlying Base, are editable from the interface. How do I keep the locked fields locked in the interface?
When I create a LIST in INTERFACE and I mark the options "Edit records inline" and "Add/delete records inline" I can add RECORDS from the computer. But when I log into the app from my cell phone, I can't add a RECORD.Is it possible to add RECORD also from the app on the cell phone?
Hello,I have shared 3 interfaces with a collaborator and have given them editor permissions. They are able to acces one of the 3 interfaces. When they try to access the other 2 interfaces they get a notification which says 'You are not authorized to view this page'.I am pretty sure that I followed the same procedure to share the interfaces and I don't think I have set any restrictions for who can see the interfaces. M is only able to view the Equipment & FAcilities Maintenance even though they have editor permission on all the interfaces.M has access to the interfaces on the desktop and they work perfectly for the permissions I have set. This issue only occurs on the mobile app on a tablet.Does anyone know what might be going on?Thanks!
Let me start by saying that I have been trying to do this in Interfaces but I've also had a look at the new Forms feature. What I would really like to do is present the user with a grid with 4 columns: MakeLineModel Qty When the user clicks in the blank line under Make, they get a drop-down that lists all the current values in the Make field (unique values). Then they do the same for Line and Model, based on the selection under Make - i.e. a decreasing filtered list. They then manually enter a qty. They can then add more rows as they complete the 'form'.Ideally they would also be able to have the option to ignore the drop down selection and enter a value in any column that doesn't already exist in the data.I can't work out how to do this and don't really know if it's a form view on the Data area, a Form in an Interface or if I would use the new Forms feature.Any ideas ?
Hi,In the form Interface when I want to select a value from another table (linked record) I only see the name of the first column. How can I see more data on this field?Attached a picture for illustration:
Hey,I want to help my father's business and automate it to be more efficient and save him time. The problem is that he is not technological at all and he gets a bit complicated and I am afraid that he will destroy or enter wrong data (enter empty records or accidentally click on things).I wanted to ask you how you would deal with it?I thought maybe creating forms to create customers, a form to edit the details of the customers, etc.is this a good idea?I would love to hear from you how you would behave. Thanks
So, I love the fact that I can finally share interfaces and embed them into our services. This has finally given me the use case for them. First snag I have found though is that when I have a drop down, for some reason one of them keeps changing the sort for the records and I don't know what I am doing wrong. The dropdown is filtering a linked field. When I select the dropdown on the interface designer, it is in alphabetical orderWhen I select the dropdown post publishing, it is in alphabetical orderWhen I select the dropdown on the embed or make larger link, it is chaosIs there a way for me to fix the sorting of the dropdown item? I show the perfect drop down and the less that perfect one in the attachements.
Hi,I have a table of projects which is being imported in. Each project has a project ID column, and a Project Parent ID column, since there are sub projects. I want to simply create a list which shows each parent project, followed by all of the sub projects. Nested Linked Records seems to only allow me to do this in reverse. Is there any other way I can do it. I can't really change the structure of the data, since it's being imported in from an API.Thanks!
I have a user that can't click an interface button which runs an automation. The automation primarily updates a field that is not visible through the interface. My user, who has access to the interface but not the underlying base, is unable to click this button. It is greyed out. Unfortunately I didn't get to see the error message you get when you hover over the button because another user 'helped' them and moved the workflow along. Is it the current expected behaviour that a user with interface only access can't run an automation that changes the base? Or is there something else going on here?
Interface designer pages can now be shared publicly. 😁😁😁 This feature is still in beta, and comes with a warning that some hidden data may be exposed. An example that Airtable gave in the docs explains that even if a chart in an interface page shows only combined values, it is possible that individuals could find the specific numbers behind those totals by examining network logs."Consider the dashboard below that shows data for 28 deals in the pipeline. The chart shows the sum of the all the estimated value of each deal per stage. Even though you can’t tell the deal worth for each of the individual deals by looking at the chart, if you inspect the network logs, you could see the individual values for each deal."Personally, I'm holding off on sharing interface pages that contain sensitive or confidential information. If I had to share, I'd check the network logs to make sure no sensitive data is being exposed unintentionally.
Hi!I'm trying to display two lines (series of values) in one line chart.Data goes like:Date / Value 1 / Value 21-1-2024 / 24 / 201-1-2024 / 34 / 201-2-2024 / 40 / 211-3-2024 / 52 / 21 So one line displaying 24,34,40 and 52 and another line in the same chart displaying 20, 20, 21, 21 (for same period (X-axis).Is this possible in interfaces? Or is there another way to achieve something like this?
Hi Airtable Community! When I create line charts in Interface designer and group data by some criterion, the values are not visualized the same way as if I did not group the records. (Related chart setting enabled)Please help.
How can I display a ratio between two values in interface (dashboard)?I have the field "hours" in a base.In the dashboard I want to display the number of hours last week divided in a static number.Like:All records from last week.Total amount of hours from those records.Divided in 8.Plot this on a chart so I can see progress over time. I'm OK to go through a new table in the base to solve the problem
Morning. We have a request that seems pretty common but searching the articles the info is a bit conflicting, so asking a fresh question. We have a base with data that we work with. Think of it like a CRM.What I need is a way to set a view of data (state based) so that a user can only see the cases they are working on. That is pretty easy with a view etc. I also only want those users to only see certain fields from those people to not be able to edit the view or configuration of those fields. Except 2 fields which they are allowed to do a drop down on. Reason is basically to stop users from deleting or changing important data, or viewing other peoples data. Thats the main request. A lock down view for our users that they cant download, change, print, copy. they can only view . . except 2 fields that they can toggle. (our users are very basic).Second part of that, is I want them to have the ability to run one automation in that. A button that will send a locked down message to
Is there anyway to do a sum of averages within a selection using the number boxes?Bottom grey number on the left is what I'm trying to tweak. Over the last 12 months, I've sold 663 units for a total of $4,107,840 (bottom two green #'s). I need to sell 118 more (top grey #). Ideally, I want that bottom grey box to not show me the average per, but a sum total of the averages. So $4,107,840/663 = 6196 * 118 = $731,128. Any one have an idea on how to get there?I thought maybe build that value into the base itself somehow, but I'm having trouble running sums within the individual records so they all return the 6196 value in real time (or close to it)...
