Hi everyone, I really like Airtable and the fact there is a community forum is amazing! I found this example https://github.com/nicroto/airtable-scripts/blob/master/update-stock.js and I’m trying to play around with it in the code editor. Although I’m stuck on nomenclature. With base.getTable, do I use the name of the base? I’m getting an error even trying to run the example. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

I’ve got a Unit table that stores all the details for a course Unit (e.g. Introduction to French): I want to specify records for each week of that Unit, e.g. for the Unit “Musicianship 101”, we have a record for Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, etc (tracking information for each week): Musicianship 101 Week 1 Week 2 Week 3 … I created a table Unit Weeks that looks like this: Where the “Unit” field is a linked record back to the corresponding unit record in *Unit table. Can anyone tell me the formula for calculating the number of days between “date logged” and “date completed”. And if the formula could be expressed as working weekdays only that would be icing on the cake! Many thanks

Hello, New airtable user designing a way for employees at a small business to exchange non paid time off. We want to create a “time bank” style exchange, were employees can offer up shifts of different lengths, and other employees can claim them. When you claim an offered shift, you contribute to your balance in the time bank, and when you offer up a shift, you use your balance/credit. I am having trouble figuring out how to set up the formula, though I know it should be simple SUM (hours earned minus hours used). Do I need to put that formula in a specific view of the base? I’m able to set up a column to display that formula but I don’t know how to integrate that with other data I want to include, including the dates to be swapped, employee name, etc. Any advice would be very useful.

I have a table in which I track each time I contact a client. I also have a formula that uses the date contacted and cycle frequency to determine the next date to connect with the client. I also have a view that filters the view to only show future “next contact date.” I would like to create a way to show in this view only the clients I need to contact within the current 7 DAY week. I can’t come up with a formula, and the filter options for the view don’t provide a way to do this. I was thinking a separate column with a formula that would only populate if the “next contact date” column had a date for the current 7 DAY week. Maybe a checkmark and the view can be filtered if a record has a checkmark. I’m stumped and would love some thoughts.

I wrote a formula that converts options chosen from a multi-select list into a string and appends the responses when “other” is selected. I want to take the resulting comma separated string and convert them into links to connect to other records. Is there any way to do that without disrupting the formula? Or is there a way to continually copy the contents of column A into column B while being able to link column B to other records?

Hello! Im trying to build a question pool where people should answer with a value on a scale. Like the “opinion scale” in typeform or “linear scale” in google forms. I seem not to find a solution on this. The problem lies in the description of the extremes: What I tried is to build the extreme’s description into the question itself (in the format of “question? 1:low extreme answer 5: high extreme answer”), but with these they just seem to be too long for the cells to fit. I inserted them into a new base, converted them to become column headers (by importing a copypasted set from a sheet). So the looks like this: and then realized part of the text is trimmed. Hi there. I have a work tracker and a table lifting all of my tasks. Next to the tasks I have a Single select column listing the status of teh task as ‘Completed’ ‘In progress’ or ‘Not started’. I would like to add an extra table purely for Completed tasks. and set it up in a way so that when I categorize a task as ‘Completed’ it automatically feeds through to the ‘Completed tasks’ table, and then hides it from the main ‘Tasks’ table. Please could someone explain how to do this? I’ve done this once before but can’t remember how. Thanks

Hi, New to AirTable. I’ve got tables that look like: Courses (links to Units) Units (links to Modules) Modules (have a field called Video) A Unit will have one or more Modules. I know how to show Videos for a given Unit via lookup of all the Modules for a Unit. A Course will have one or more Units. What’s the best way in AirTable to show the Videos for a Course? Hi! I created 2 tables - Table 1 - Input from a form I created - Including a tracking number and quantity actually received Table 2 - Download from a website with the tracking numbers and quantity shipped I wanted to link these two tables with the tracking number field to then be able to create an additional field that would calc how many items I had outstanding. When I go to link the tracking numbers between the tables - The data in BOTH tables for tracking number columns totally disappear? I feel like this is pretty simple… am I missing something basic? please help!

DTS-07232017 Hello, RE: Scroll Bars Not Functioning Scroll bars are not functioning on mobile desktop web browser mode. Whether in Chromium or FF neither scroll bars are functioning. The cannot be accessed. So there’s no way to scroll horizontal. In the Airtable mobile app, the mobile is entirely limited, dysfunctional making it useless. So obviously Airtable wasn’t developed with mobile coding and is restricted, to laptops. This is irritating, to be on mobile technologies, on the road working on a database build only to find out it needs a laptop! What pisses me off is at this point I might as well use MS Access. I am creating an IF formula in the Primary field so I know which apartment my maintenance manager was in, doing what, on what date. I have a table that breaks it down by per suite so it is organized. I have this as my formula: Suite & “: " & Comments & " - " & IF({Date Completed}, " (” & DATETIME_FORMAT({Date Completed}, ‘ll’) & “)”) I copied and pasted it from a sample but it puts the date in brackets. I don’t want brackets around the date. I cannot figure out which parenthesis to eliminate. I have tried different ones but then I cannot save it due to errors in the formula. Is there a way to do this formula so the date is not in (bracketed)?

Is there any way to hide the view selector on the left to gain screen space?

Anyone have any suggestions as to why I am not receiving a notification email when a form is submitted to airtable? After a form is submitted, a record does get created, it’s only the notification I don’t get. Also: I do have the “email me at xx@xxx.com” selected on the form, and I have checked my spam folder, but nothing there. Any advice?

Hi all, I created a survey in the form version and send out the links for those to complete. As with other surveys I’ve made, I should see the responses coming in in the Grid version however this isn’t occurring. I am not sure what troubleshooting I could do to get these responses visible. I completed the form, as a test, and that response is also not appearing. Any support or direction is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Samantha

Hello! Is it possible to customize connections within cards on the same table? I have a link setup between two tables, but would like to customize those links to only match to certain views. For example, on one table - Jobs - I would like one card to connect to a specific view on another table, but on the same table, I’d like another card to connect to a separate view on the other table as well. Instead of a dropdown menu for my Views, I have a list that shows-up and stays open on the left side of my spreadsheet until I get fed up and I click on the column to close it. Is there a way to put it back as a dropdown arrow like it was before? I don’t even know how I got it to change in the first place. All my other colleagues have an arrow and I have a box that says Views

Heya ! In Chrome, I managed to change first day of week in calendar views by setting English (UK) as chrome default language. That’s something :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: . But when using the Windows app (seems based on a clean light version of Chrome, perfect for my needs :kissing_heart: ), I’m stuck with Sunday as first day of the week. Limitation of the Windows app ? I am trying to upload several jpgs to one record. I use ‘Gallery’ and drop files in bulk to the plus sign bottom right. They are pages from a book and therefore in a sequence. The files are numbered as jpgs in a numerical sequence. Why can I not have the viewed output remain in the correct sequence? Why is the output always reversed with the last item first? How can I fix this? Many thanks if anybody can help!
