Hello, I am building an automation to create a record when an email is received. Each of these records also need to include an attachment that is received with this email. Is there a way that I can import that attachment into airtable as well.

For the following simple database example: Table called EMPLOYER with the following fields: EmployerName, Employees, Country. Table called EMPLOYEES with the following fields: EmployeeName, Employer, Country. Required AirTable automation: When EMPLOYEE/Country is Empty, copy the EMPLOYER/Country value to the Employees of each EMPLOYER. How would you setup the automation?

Hi, Airtable community! I’m writing a script in the Automations tab. My first trigger creates a new record called newEntityId. I want to link that newEntityId record to another record I’ve created in the script. My problem is that you can only get the record ID from the newly created record and the field type I want to link to is “Link to another record” which requires the object/record type. I’ve made a solution that works but throws an error. Our employees are paid in multiple ways. First, the amount of Revenue they generate dictates Hourly Pay Rate for the week. We are able to import all revenue transactions from our CRM via .csv Revenue Report files. We have a chart that displays Hourly Pay Rate by Weekly Revenue level in the base as well. An Airtable form is used to capture timesheet entries from the field on a daily basis. The number of hours entered is applied to the Hourly Pay Rate to generate Straight Time and Overtime pay. Additionally, we pay bonuses for certain high value items that are sold (commissions are on another rate sheet in the base). Again, we use an Airtable form for field reps to submit bonus items that have been sold. Finally, in all situations, we are using DateTime functions to identify the Week of the Year for pay periods (Sunday through Saturday). So, all transactions include a Pay Period (Week of the year) in the records. All of this data is in the base in the following tables: Revenue Timesheet

Hi everyone, first off, my skills are a bit basic, so I hope you have patience with me… I have a text field in which multiple numbers are being output by an automation and separated with a comma (it displays the file size of attachments.) My goal is now to get the sum of all of these numbers in a formula field (I want to display the total filesize of all numbers combined). I have tried using VALUE(Internal Notes) but in that case the numbers are just mashed together and not being calculated at all. So instead of “100200” I want this to display “300”. Can anyone help me out on what to do? Or should this be resolved using scripts or something else? Any help would be much appreciated.

So I have 2 bases, let’s say A and B. Table 1 in Base A is synced to Base B. When 2 records with the same name lets say X are created in base A table 1, they enter a view on the synced table on B. When they enter this view an automation runs to create two new records in base B table 2 with the same name (dynamic field value). However when X and X are created in base A, I only want one new record to be created in base B’s table (when the name is exactly the same). What would be the easiest way to have the automation only create 1 new record named X? And it would be a bonus if I could have the new record in base b’s version field number to fill out as 2 when there are 2, 3 when there are 3 records with same name in base A and so on. Thanks!

Is there any option to directly fetch the collaborator name whoever is entering the record? I am using a shared base. If the above thing is possible, is it also possible using forms? Thank you in advance.

Hello, I created a few simple databases in Airtable and wanted to test the access to them with Power BI. I tried this simple query with Postman: https://api.airtable.com/v0/<BASE-ID>/<TABLE-id>?api_key=XXXX and it works great and instantaneously. But the same URL in PowerQuery like this: Json.Document(Web.Contents("https://api.airtable.com/v0/<BASE-ID>/<TABLE-id>?api_key=XXXX")) is not doing anything. Just trying to establish a connection or I don’t know. It doesn’t give any error message. Hi there - I need help building a formula that tracks if tasks have been completed early, on time, or late. I have a column where I mark a task complete, so it will have to start with If status = complete, etc. I then have a column each for “Start Date” and “End Date” (projected end date). Then a separate column for “Completion Date” (actual end date). I can get this to work if I reference the code via another field but I can’t figure out how to insert it via a formula (so that I don’t have to fill a field with this dummy data every time). I’m having trouble with something that seems very simple. I’d like where it says “0.9 available” for it to show that time formatted as “h:mm”, as it does in the “Time Available” field next to it. Here the formula for the Name field: Essentially I think I need to convert seconds to hours, minutes and seconds within a formula, but I can’t find a way to do it and feel I’m probably just missing something simple. Previously I’m using multiselect field from the current table. However, I am trying to automate by pulling the multiselect field from the LOOKUP. But when I want to run the script, I am unable to do so. I manually entered numbers in a Single Line field, then I changed the field type to Number, and the last two digits of the numbers changed before my eyes for no apparent reason. The change is in the last two digits (14 changed to 20, and 05 changed to 00). Note that I didn’t make a typo - I watched the digits change when I changed the field type to number. I tried making a new number field and copy pasted the values in there, but the same thing happened there. I tried the same with a formula field with the same results. It’s not a rounding error - the number field format is set to integer, and so is the formula field. The screenshot SHOULD show the same number in every field - the “Group ID” field has the correct number. Is there a ghost in the machine?

Hi, I could use some advice on the following use case. One base, four tables: Products Orders Order Line Items Out of Stock Products Orders are linked to its Order Line Items, and each Order Line Item record is linked to 1 Product record from the Products table. Additional lookup data of the Product record is gathered in both the Orders and the Order Line Items table. Now here is the main issue: Product records are automatically (via scripting) moved to the Out of Stock Products table once they hit a quantity of 0 (and let’s assume we manually adjust the quantity of these product records). Once a product record is moved though, the link between the Product record and Order Line Item record is removed, causing all the additional lookup and summed up data of my final Order data to be flawed. Somehow, I need to retain that product data in the order. I’m looking for any type of suggestion to deal with this use case to retain the product data in the orders. Could be going anywhere – from

Hello all, How do I add time to a Date field using the scripting block in automations? I know about DATEADD() in formula fields but I’m trying to iterate through a loop. I want to automatically create an indeterminate number of new records where each record’s Date field is the next day (19th, 20th, 21st, etc) in other words, n = n + 1day. Is there some way I can do this in my script’s for loop? Or some clever way to do it with formula fields? Thanks,

Hello, I’m looking for help with a formula/script/automation. I have 5 fields that are checkboxes noting a user’s role. Some users have none checked, some have some, or even all. Also, these fields may be updated at any time by the user, so need something that updates automatically (both adding or removing a role). I need another field that uses the title of the checkbox field (or text I provide), and puts them into one field. I’m struggling with adding commas, because they only need a comma if another role needs to show up behind the prior one.

However, calling the .getMonth() function on a date object returns an incorrect month. I can of course correct for this by adding 1 to each month but would prefer not to. Hello, I have a table with about 1700 records. I’m pulling a couple of records and doing some math on all the rows, then updating the result in a new record. The bulk update code I’m using is waaaay faster than a single row update, but it’s still taking about 45-60 seconds. That’s too slow for me to run an automation, which has a 30s timeout.
