Hi all. I have a fairly quick problem. I’m a relative novice to JavaScript and coding, so forgive me if this is a silly question. I found some code that will duplicate a record and copy all fields, with the ability to exclude certain fields. I can fill in my table and exclusion fields, and it works as intended. The original thread is here: Script to duplicate a record with select fields only or create new item based on another Extensions We’re using Airtable as a PIM for clothing and we sometimes do modifications that creates a new style code. A lot of the information is the same (as it’s just a modification), but I don’t want to copy over any linked fields or certain notes on an item. I was wondering if it was possible to create a script that would let you select an item you want to modify and create a new item with select information from the base item. The links are in the same table FYI. I am looking to do exactly what was described in this post. T

I have seen that many people are requesting advanced permissions but haven’t seen my use-case if somebody could please confirm whether this is possible. I would like to know if you can allow user view/edit rights based on cell value. I’m very new to Airtable so perhaps there’s a good way of doing this without me thinking like I’m working in Excel! I’ll use the most simple example I can think of below. Company XYZ has sales team made up of East and West, users are assigned to each team in a table. Person A - East Person B - West Then there are prospects in a new table assigned to a Team and person. When adding a new prospect, the prospect should default to the team that the sales person is attached to. Prospect A - East - Person A Prospect B - West - Person B What combination of the following can I do please? Make it so that all sales people can view all prospects but only the team who owns the prospect can edit Make it so that only the team that owns the prospect can view the prospec

Hello, I have shared an interface (hence a base) with read only external collaborators. Everything is working fine, but I would like to deny permission to these collaborators to enter the base itself, but i cannot find out how to invalidate the “Go to base option”. I’m struggling to import into tables/sheets that have a lookup field setup. I tried: import from Google Sheets import via copy paste download as csv > import via copy paste The “Account” is always disabled during mapping and has a tooltip “this field type is not supported” I found this similar sounding issue: Bulk upload interactions? I am looking for some help calculating a graduated sales commission in Airtable. The sales commission is calculated at a rate of twenty-five percent (25%) on the part of the sale price up to and including $25,000; plus twenty percent (20%) on the part of the sale price over $25,000 and up to and including $100,000; plus fifteen percent (15%) on the part of the sale price over $100,000. If the sale price is $150,000, then the commission is 25% of the first $25,000, then 20% on the amount from $25,001-$100,000, then 15% on the amount from $100,001-$150,000. If the sale price is $5,000, then the commission is 25% of $5,000. The commission structure is visualized like this: Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I have a forecasting sheet pulled from our CRM. The sheet lists various deals underway, each sitting at one of 8 stages: Contract Negotiation Terms Negotiation Proposal - Sent Proposal - In Progress Evaluating and Planning a) Evaluating and Planning b) Proposal Sent c) Contract Negotiations Our CRM applies a probability of closing at each stage, but doesn’t place that in any column that I can export, so I have added a formula field to apply that. (Pic 1) As part of our forecasting process, our BDs will review the deals and if the CRM assigned probability is different than they think it should be, they can enter that. A percentage field called {Probability per BD} Lastly, I have a field column to display the CRM % or overwrite it with the BD’s %. (pic2) Now…here is where my issue is: Part of our exercise as well is to ensure that if the deal is over 50% probability of closing, AND over $50K in value, They need to establish what the start and finish date is over the contract is after

Ok, not sure I wrote the title of this topic clearly so here’s an explanation. I have “duration” data imported into Airtable in an ISO 8601 format (just into a normal long text field, more on that below). An example of this format is PT1H30M15S which is equal to 1 Hour 30 Minutes and 15 Seconds of time. PT stands for “Period of Time” for those curious. Problem: I am trying to get the ISO 8601 formatted data into airtable’s “Duration” field but the formatting does not seem to be 1:1. Using the above example, pasting “PT1H30M15S” into an airtable Duration field gives 3:36:55 instead of the expected 1:30:15. I assume this is partially why I had to import this data into a long text field and couldn’t get it to work out the box with the duration field. Can anyone help me figure out how to properly convert my data into Airtable’s duration field format? I have a feeling it’s going to require a formula so that’s why I posted here under this category, but if not my apologies.

Does anyone have suggestions to go one route over another for setting up my base? Essentially in a table called SKUs I will be linking to another table or tables for each SKU component. Each of the fields in the screenshot below will be a linked record. My question is, should I link these fields each to the same table (like the image below) or create a separate table for each component/field type (ex. A table for supplier, pattern, colour, etc.)? There will be additional information specific to each field/Sku component included as well. Like price per square inch for a specific pattern or prices for inserts, etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi, I’m hoping someone can help. My company manages projects and when a project has a formal issue, we create a Governance Ticket related to it in another Base (to ensure the underlying information is not visible to other users). This results in a series of Syncs between Bases. Projects sync to the Governance Base from a Projects Management Base Governance Tickets sync back to the Projects Management Base (showing a limited View of the issue’s details. What I can’t get to work is the update using automations of the RAG status field which lives on Projects tab on the Projects Management Base. The scenario is that a ticket is raised which moves a project to Red status, which is a field in the Governance Base. The sync occurs and shows that a ticket relating to a Project is in Red status and if the current Project is not in Red, the automation should change the linked Project record to Red status. Hello, I am new to AirTable, trying to figure out how to implement my required features. I need to let users specify a payment schedule. So that the user can add dates, and values for each date. Ideally I would like to figure out how to add a column which is a “List of Date+Number pairs”. If that is not possible (and it doesn’t seem possible?) what would be the best way to simulate this feature? I have not yet looked at creating Interfaces in case there is a way to create a one-to-many with a “Payment Schedule” table and have multiple records in multiple tables be populated by an Interface. (So if this is what I need to do, please let me know) Thank you for your help figuring this out.

Hi all I’ve had Airtable for only a few days and I’m desperately trying to replicate what I’ve got in Excel, however I’m a bit stuck and hoping for some help please. It’s essentially a points lookup. Requirements Users must answer 4 yes/no questions (represented by 4 columns/fields) Each answer of Yes will add the number of points shown in table below, with the total points across the 4 fields attributed to a priority Users should only see the below 5 columns - any other fields created and used to calculate/lookup to determine the priority should not be visible to the user The priority should not be able to be edited by the user - this defeats the whole purpose In the above example, user has answered Yes to B so 10 points has been assigned in total and this results in a medium priority being assigned. Hello! I would like to create groups based on a “contains” value in a text field. Since this is not an available option, I think I am going to need to use a formula to create a field that I can group by. Objective: Create a conditional formula that will select a drop-down based on conditions. Sample Data: What I would like to happen: If Campaign Name contains “PF_MU30_Weekly” Change Email Type to “Weekly” If Campaign Name contains “PF_MU30_ReEngagement” change Email Type to “ReEngagement” If Campaign Name contains “PF_MU30_Engagement” change Email Type to “Engagement” From here then I can group by the Email Type field. Any tips on how to set up a database to do QA (Quality Assurance)? The main issue is that every project has different requirements and questions, so using one table seems like a no go. Hi, I am fairly new to Airtable and couldn’t find a solution to this here! I have a formula that does a division calulation using the output from a formula field and a linked field value. Here is my setup, I am getting #ERROR! in my calculation field. Here is my formula I have tried various combinations of using the VALUE() function but I can’t get it to work. Thanks in advance. John

I’m trying to create an IF statement that would return a different result even if something matches the original criteria. I have Client ABC that doesn’t fit into the regular payment schedule, so I want the value “123” to be put as their payment and the have the rest of the clients calculated based on the formula. The problem is that Client ABC has values in each of the computed fields, so the value of those fields is being returned instead of 123. I’ve tried a variety of things without any luck. I’m looking for a solution for adding e-signature approvals for invoice attachments to a record. Basically I’m trying to track invoice approvals, but need to be able to add an e-signature when someone approves the invoice for payment. Any ideas?

I have a table whose user entered fields are susceptible to errors arising from invalid conditions between two or more fields. For example: Start and end dates are optional but if both start and end date are filled out the end date must be AFTER the start date. If the value of the Type field is ‘Underwriting’ then the Underwriter field must be non blank. Depending on the value of a certain status field, the total count of linked record in another field should be just 1, or 0. I want the user to be alerted to a lot of error conditions as they enter data or view records, but I don’t want a whole bunch of formula fields alerting the user and cluttering up the users’ views or interfaces. To keep things simple for the user I created just one formula field to concatenate together all possible error checks. Each term in the concatenation returns a descriptive message if the error check logic detects a problem, or a zero-length string if the error check logic doesn’t find a problem. An extr

When referencing a 2nd table, I’m receiving a “Received invalid inputs” error. I have Table A in the initial steps of the automation, and then set up a conditional action for Table B to be updated based on the results from Table A. When I select Table B in the conditional action, it still references Table A. Is it not possible to reference two tables separate in an automation?
