I’m considering storing information about users in an Airtable table. One of the fields would contain a unique username. From my application, I would like to find the user that corresponds to a given username. I think that the recommended approach would be to retrieve all records with a parameter filterByFormula= {Username}={My ID} as shown here. However, if I’m not mistaken, this would entail Airtable to scan all the rows of the table in order to find this particular record and thus would be very slow for a larger number of rows (O(n) complexity). Is this the case? Can I create an index (as in a relational database) to make such searches faster (O(log n) complexity)?

I’m trying to make monthly reports of a few thousands entries. However my script never stops, and not sure what the mistake is. Not sure this is the right category, but… Is there a keyboard shortcut to check a checkbox? it’s incredibly annoying when doing data entry to have to switch to my mouse to check off a box… i’ve checked the shortcuts menu and don’t see it, searched the forum here and don’t see it, but i might not be searching on the right combination of words? any clues on this would be great… i’ve tried spacebar and enter and shift enter and a variety of other possible, intuitive solutions but none of them seem to do the trick. if it’s NOT a thing… then @airtable dev… could it please BE a thing! :grinning_face_with_big_eyes:

Hi, I’m looking for a formula that can help me understand my “task capacity” for the day. In other words, let’s say I have “estimated time required” set for all tasks for that day, and that equals 7 hours… how can I then: a) First create a formula or setting to tell Airtable my capacity for the day is 8 hours, and… b) How can I then create a formula that takes that day’s tasks and lets me know if I’m over or under capacity? An example… If my max was set to 8 hours for the day, and I have 7 hours of tasks, AT would tell me I’m in the green (Green check symbol). If I have 9 hours of projected tasks, AT would tell me I’m over capacity (Red cross symbol)? I’ve attached a screenshot of my current “Tasks” view inside my own project manager, in case it’s of help. Hi! I am using an airtable automation to move certain data from the record to a different table, then I would like to automatically delete the record in the original table. Can I take that last step using Automations? I couldn’t figure out how. Apologies if this is well documented, I couldn’t find it though! Thanks!

Any suggestions for how to view my Bases properly in Chrome? I’m on a Macbook Pro viewing on a LG monitor, although if I move the tab to my Mac the issues still exists. All is good when I’m on Firefox. See comparison of both browsers in screenshots.

This seems so simple. What am my missing? AUTOMATION TRIGGER When a record matches conditions When “Publish Date” is not empty (this test runs successfully) ACTION (see screenshot) When I enter a publish date I’d like the Status field to update from READY TO UPLOAD to PUBLISHED. The test runs successfully but the record does not update to PUBLISHED. I noticed if I enter a single select option in the automation that DOES NOT exist it will add that to the dropdown list of options but still won’t actually update the record with the new choice. So obviously I’m not entering something right for it to actually change the status option. Or maybe that’s not possible based on my looking around for an answer. If it isn’t possible, could I accomplish this with Integromat? And if yes, could someone give a few tips on how? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I am trying to create an automation involving attachments. When the attachment gets uploaded into the one table (Incidents and in Incident Report/Doc… column), it will appear in another table (Tenants and in Incidents column) Trigger: When record matches conditions Table: Incidents Condition: Incident Report/Doc is not empty Test Run: Successful Action: Update Record Table: Tenants Record ID: (this is where I’m stumped). I choose Name as that is the common field between the two tables. Field: Incidents I have linked the fields together but it adds additional steps so I am hoping to eliminate that aspect.

I’m trying to use data from a lookup field in a formula and keep getting #ERROR!. The formula (below) works with a plain text field created to test, but not the lookup field. Hello, I’m trying to create a formula to give a certain status to a record when 2 criteria are met. This is my attempt but I get the status “Onvolledig” in every cell although there are cases where the result should be “Volledig”: IF(AND({Betaalopdracht} = 1,({Huurders} = ‘’)), “Volledig”, “Onvolledig”) Field {Betaalopdracht} is a Checkbox. Field {Huurders} is a linked record => so if the checkbox is ticked AND {Huurders} is not empty, then I would like to get the status “Volledig”. Thanks in advance for the help! Hey! I’m trying to send an array of customer data to an API webhook on a external service (e.g. Sendgrid/Zapier), using a POST request in a scripting block. Using the basic fetch() function, CORS is preventing it to work. Using a CORS proxy like https://cors-anywhere.herokuapp.com/ isn’t an option because I don’t want to send sensitive data through this service. What’s the best way to fix this? Best Dominik

I have a table with a list of employees.I have another table of projects and roles that the employee may be assigned to, for example in the project table we have a column for PM, Co-PM, Lead Analyst, Analyst 1, Analyst 2. I want to count the number of times each employee is assigned a role in the projects table. In Excel and Google it is a simple =COUNTIF(‘Project’!$P$2:$V$87,A1), where column A is the employee column in the employee table, but there is no COUNTIF function in Airtable… I have also noticed that for every link I have made to the employee table I get a column in the employee table called “Project” or “Project 2” or “Project 3” and each cell has the Project ID from the Project Table. I have tried to make a formula column called “Workload” and use the formula COUNT({Project},{Project 2},{Project 3},{Project 4},{Project 5},{Project 6},{Project 7}) However this returns 0, because the links are not numeric references they are text references.Using COUNTA just counts the num

I’ve seen versions of this post, but not this specific issue, and I can’t ever get Airtable support to answer my help requests so putting it out there to see if anyone has a fix! In the “Next Renewal Date Calc” field, I want to add 90 days to the adjacent date in the “Current Period Start Date” field, but only if there is data in that record. Otherwise, I’d like the “Next Renewal Date Calc” field to be blank. However - it appears I’ve got one of two options. Don’t do an if / then statement, just do a date add formula in Next Renewal Date Calc, and then it shows an error in the records that don’t have an adjacent Current Period Start. However, it shows the date formatted for human eyeballs. Write an if / then statement, which returns data as expected, leaving dates only in the fields with an adjacent Current Period Start date. Good day all! New Airtable user here. I’m experimenting with Airtable Pro to gain some functionality over Google Calendar for planning complex jobs across multiple manufacturing departments within our facility. I’m using it as a glorified calendar and I’m trying to get over a couple hurdles I cannot figure out. I need to export about 12 different Google Calendars into Airtable, which I’m able to do by exporting each Calendar as an .ics file, and importing that file into Airtable. Here’s where I run into two MAJOR hurdles. I need to be sure I maintain the NAME of each Google Calendar as it’s imported into Airtable, into a field titled “Department”. For example, I have a Google Calendar named “Material Arrival”, and I have a department in the drop-down menu titled the same. However, when I import the .ics file, I do not get an option to map the Google Calendar’s name to any field. Nor do I seem to have an easy option to automatically set the Airtable field to say “Material Arrival” f

Morning all. I have a base I’m working on that calculates overtime, It also compares the overtime shift worked to an employee’s scheduled shift. I have a set of DURATION fields for each employee - Mon Start, Mon End, Tues Start, Tues End… for all 7 days of the week. Based on the day of the week our OT shift works, it shows the appropriate day’s shift. I’m pulling the start date of an event from one table (Overtime Events), the employee’s normal shift from another table (Employee Data), and the calculation is in a 3rd table (OT Shift Data). I’m trying to concatenate the DATE ONLY from when an overtime shift begins, and the DURATION field from the employee’s info, to create one date field I can use for other calculations. None of the date/time formulas seem to give me the results I’m looking for. Can anyone please offer any advice?

I am trying to push multiple values in a look-up table at once to a single update field. So far I am filtering the record, finding the IDs of the values in one of the values. Pulling out specific ones and then I am not sure what to do to update multiple values inside of a new field with a look-up table. Note, I didn’t copy and paste properly.
