Hi, new to Airtable, so this may be a dumb question; apologies in advance if so. Is there a way to dynamically update single select field options from an API? For example, looking to have a list of item types to select for a record, ex: Server, Workstation, Switch This master list is contained in another system but accessible via rest API. Is there a way so that in the far end system, if “Router” is added as an item option, the Airtable option list for that field will now contain “Server, Workstation, Switch, Router”?

Hi everyone, I’m unable to get a DATETIME_DIFF formula to work the way I want it to. Basically, I have a Status field as a single select as follows: My goal is to have a column that shows me the number of Days since a record was created. When I use the DATETIME_DIFF by itself, it works just fine as below, showing 0 days However, what I want to do is to show this only when the Status column is not equal to complete. So I’m trying to wrap my DATETIME_DIFF as the true result when the Status != “Complete”. But this doesn’t work. When I set the status to complete, I get the false result of the IF formula, which is “Complete”, so that part works fine. But when I change the status to anything other than “Complete”, the formula shows me a blank. I can’t figure out why this isn’t working. I tried swapping the IF formula for a SWITCH, but I have the same issue. The DATETIME_DIFF doesn’t show a result. Edit #1: I forgot to mention that I’ve also set a (native Airtable) automation such that whe

Is it possible to use more than a single logical operator for filtering results? So far, I see there is only the option to filter based on the AND logical operator or the OR logical operator. Is it possible to combine these? For example: WHERE (“Status” contains “active” AND “Due Date” is within “1 month”) OR (“Status” contains “started” AND “Due Date” is “empty”) Otherwise, I need two separate filters and cannot see projects side-by-side easily.

Hi, So I have my formula calculating the 90-day deadline from the start date. DATEADD({Start},90,‘day’) But I want it to only calculate IF there is a date in the start column. Currently, if there is no date in the start column it produces a #error, however, ideally I’d like to set the formula so that the deadline is blank until the actual start date has been entered. Thanks in advance and apologies for the newbie question!!

Hello, We are looking for a solution to convert a single image (company logo) to get a url. We import the CSV to Webflow but we can only import an image with a url. The ultimate goal is to automatize with Integromat so when clients fill the form and upload their logo, the table is updated and all the info are sent to Webflow. I have the feeling that I’m missing something very simple but I don’t see where. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi everyone - I’m a total beginner to Node js but it’s very frustrating, that after hours of searching on Airtable Docs as well as through the community, I can’t seem to find the answer to one of the most basic things a user would want to do with a database. In short - I’m trying to do a lookup. Given a “phone number” of “(454) 382-9029”, I want to return the “Full Name” of “Carol Lerner”. I want Airtable to access the right record and the code to print the “Full Name”. In Excel this takes 2 seconds to do. I’m at a loss why this has been so difficult to find code for on Airtable Docs or Community on Node js. I know that I’m a beginner. I’m not sure why it’s so difficult to see how to do something like this. My code won’t really be of much help here as I keep getting errors when I try to run it. Thanks for taking a look and hope you can help.

I keep getting closer to remembering the difference between a spreadsheet and AirTable, but I have a Base design that is just eluding me. Initially I have a 2 table Base that need to be linked. Table 1 has a list of people in my organization along with critical information. The primary field will obviously be the members name (we are small enough that I am not concerned with duplicates, or can handle them if necessary). Table 2 will be continuously built through form input by the organization members. Primary field will be a date/time stamp as that is really the only unique identifier on this Table. I want to link the two tables through the name field, but I am not sure the best way to do it, particularly since there may be some mismatch between the name in Table 1, and the name entered on the form for Table 2. I was originally considering having people entering First Name and Last Name, and then using concatenate to join them, but I couldn’t find a way to have a field be both a linked

In [Workers] I have a rollup field called {Lowest_rating} which uses the Min() formula to return the lowest number a worker has in [Worker Interactions]. FWIW, the field in [Worker Interactions] that is being rolled-up is a number field. Where the worker has no rating yet, the rollup returns a “0”. I find this to be visually confusing. Is there anyway in the rollup to return the cell empty rather than a zero? Photos below. thanks!

Is there a way to tell table.updateRecordAsync what field to update with a variable? I have a table that tracks the date a person receives multiple trainings. Each training has a date field. I’m able to hard code the field in table.updateRecordAsync, but I haven’t figured out a way to do it with a variable, even a string type variable. This would allow me to have one script where one could select the training to update, rather than a script for each training. Here is my code: await recordTable.updateRecordAsync(record,{ '*INSERT VARIABLE HERE': date }); I also tried using the usual javascript way of inserting variables into strings like this: await recordTable.updateRecordAsync(record,{ `${fieldString}`: date }); This just gives me lots of errors.

I am trying to import a Google Sheet containing ~500 rows of data into Airtable. Airtable successfully detects the data, including the column labels, but after I confirm and press the “Import” button, it always throws this error. How can I fix this?

Is there a way to have a user input a date in a script? I have a button that adds today’s date, but I’d like to give an option to add a custom date, just like in a date field. Text input seems kinda iffy.

A simple DATEADD is changing time. SET_TIMEZONE(DATEADD(date,moredays,'days'),'America/New_York') If it is because of daylight savings, does airtable recognize that and have a ‘fix’?

I want to track Companies, People, and date each person is hired. In a relational database I would use a “join table” to handle the many-to-many relationship and would include a “HiredDate” field in this join table. AirTable makes many-to-many relationships easy, but then no easy way to track hire date for each person at each company. This seems like such a common use case (companies/people, products/customers, students/classes). What am I missing? Thanks!

I’m trying to create a formula that can search a column that contains multiple text dates and return only the earliest date. My {Launching} column is a text field that contains many launch dates, as well as region codes for what the date applies to like this - AU: 02/28/2021, CC: 03/01/2021, CK: 03/01/2021, CX: 03/01/2021, GU: 06/30/2021, MH: 06/30/2021, MP: 06/30/2021, NF: 02/28/2021, NZ: 02/28/2021, PR: 06/30/2021, TK: 02/28/2021, VI: 06/30/2021 I’d like to create a formula that can search this text field and tell me only the month of the earliest launch My current formula is this: IF(SEARCH(": 02/", {Launching}), “2Feb “,””) & IF(SEARCH(": 03/", {Launching}), “3Mar “,””) & IF(SEARCH(": 04/", {Launching}), “4Apr “,””) & IF(SEARCH(": 05/", {Launching}), “5May “,””) & IF(SEARCH(": 06/", {Launching}), “6Jun “,””) The values returned look like this: 2Feb 3Mar 2Feb 3Mar 4Apr 2Feb 3Mar 4Apr 2Feb 3Mar 6Jun 2Feb 6Jun 3Mar Is there a way to tell the formula to return the text

I feel like I must be missing something very simple, but I have a grid view with an Email Address column, and it is sorted by that column and only that column. For the most part it looks fine, but Email Address ‘psmith82…’ is sorting ahead of ‘psmith11…’. Anyone else noticed anything like this, or have any suggestions? Thanks!

It would be really useful to be able to set confirmButtonDisabled and cancelButtonDisabled (both booleans) to diable the respective buttonts on the ConfirmationDialog component.

I’m making an automation right now and would like to nest a link (kept in 1 field) into the text of another field. Essentially I have the two fields I would need to do this in Slack here: But I would like to do this on the AT side so it comes out cleanly like it would if I did it in Slack. Slack formatting doesn’t offer a way to nest links with a text shortcut. Has anybody done this?

Hi all- I’m attempting to use airtable to create a schedule for a summer academic program. I really need a field for start time and end time of the class/workshop. I don’t mind having a separate field for each, but I’d like to be able to group by date and sort by time to get a daily schedule. I can’t figure out how to do without a field that allows time without date. Am I missing something, is there a workaround that accomplishes the same thing? Thanks!

I have a “Start Date” field and a “# Duration (days)” field and would like a formula that calculates the “Due Date” in work days. I tried this formula from a YouTube tutorial: IF(AND({Start Date},{Duration (days)}),WORKDAY({Start Date},{Duration (days)})) But if I enter 2/15/21 (a Monday), and add a Duration of 10 days, the formula shows 2/28/21 (a Sunday) which is not a work day. Is there something missing? Thanks, Kevin

Been trying to wrap my head around how to display record attachments (images) in the markdown output of the scripting app. I heard rumours that’s possible :slightly_smiling_face: but haven’t seen any code snippets that seemed to be working []!($URL) produces errors asking for a function called Any hints?

I imported a large spreadsheet with all the data about customers and their contracts. All the customer data and the related contract data resided in one big spreadsheet, so I have one big table with all the data. I have some customers with more than one contract, so I have duplicate customer info in some rows. I have completed alot of customization on field types already, and now realize I want to break this large master table into a customer table and a contract table so I only have to update customer info in one place. Is there a way to do this so it works - I want to bring over all the customer data to a new table . I have last name, first name, address, town, state, zip, phone fields that would need to be moved to new table for customers. The contract table would remain with contract number, instrument assigned, start date, bill week, status, etc…

Hi there! I’m fairly new to formulas and have been playing around with using them in a new base for a client. I’m wondering if there is any way to create an IF statement or some other formula for if a Date field is empty? Right now if the date field is marked empty, it showcases an error, but I’d like it to still include the other values if left blank. It would be great if it could maybe have TBD" instead. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! Here’s the formula I have so far: "[" & DATETIME_FORMAT({START / LIVE DATE}, ‘MM/DD’) & "] " & {PROJECT / PROMO NAME} & " " & “[” & SEASON & "]" Also a screenshot of what I’m trying to do:

I am being billed for a collaborator who I added, but whose account does not show up in the edit collaborators dialog, which instead shows the message: “This workspace also has 1 base collaborator not represented above.” So I have no way to disable, delete or otherwise lower my monthly bill, even though the collaborator account is no longer in use, or needs to be changed to a different persons. Any suggestions?

Hi, Could you help me calculate the average results (ratings) of a student live online evaluation? I am testing 2 tools to collect the feedback of respondents, one is designed with Typeform and the other with Airtable. It is not possible to add a “multiple select” in the primary field with Typeform (“names” of students can only be added in the second column), while name can be put in the primary field with Airtable form. Does it matter to average ratings? The evaluation goes as follows: The respondents select the name of the person to evaluate from a “multiple choice/select” list and rate them using "opinion scales/ratings). The answers are imported to Airtable at the end of the live session as you can see from the screenshots. I would like to calculate the average of ratings for each group of names and use the value in the base. I noticed that the “group functionality” does not help as it is not possible to use/extract the average values in the same or a new table. Do you have any ide

I would like to sort the list of automations in order to harmonize it with our work flow. Is that possible? Thank you Klaus
