I’m making an automation right now and would like to nest a link (kept in 1 field) into the text of another field. Essentially I have the two fields I would need to do this in Slack here: But I would like to do this on the AT side so it comes out cleanly like it would if I did it in Slack. Slack formatting doesn’t offer a way to nest links with a text shortcut. Has anybody done this?

Hi all- I’m attempting to use airtable to create a schedule for a summer academic program. I really need a field for start time and end time of the class/workshop. I don’t mind having a separate field for each, but I’d like to be able to group by date and sort by time to get a daily schedule. I can’t figure out how to do without a field that allows time without date. Am I missing something, is there a workaround that accomplishes the same thing? Thanks!

I have a “Start Date” field and a “# Duration (days)” field and would like a formula that calculates the “Due Date” in work days. I tried this formula from a YouTube tutorial: IF(AND({Start Date},{Duration (days)}),WORKDAY({Start Date},{Duration (days)})) But if I enter 2/15/21 (a Monday), and add a Duration of 10 days, the formula shows 2/28/21 (a Sunday) which is not a work day. I imported a large spreadsheet with all the data about customers and their contracts. All the customer data and the related contract data resided in one big spreadsheet, so I have one big table with all the data. I have some customers with more than one contract, so I have duplicate customer info in some rows. I have completed alot of customization on field types already, and now realize I want to break this large master table into a customer table and a contract table so I only have to update customer info in one place. Is there a way to do this so it works - I want to bring over all the customer data to a new table . I have last name, first name, address, town, state, zip, phone fields that would need to be moved to new table for customers. The contract table would remain with contract number, instrument assigned, start date, bill week, status, etc…

Hi there! I’m fairly new to formulas and have been playing around with using them in a new base for a client. I’m wondering if there is any way to create an IF statement or some other formula for if a Date field is empty? Right now if the date field is marked empty, it showcases an error, but I’d like it to still include the other values if left blank. It would be great if it could maybe have TBD" instead. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! I am being billed for a collaborator who I added, but whose account does not show up in the edit collaborators dialog, which instead shows the message: “This workspace also has 1 base collaborator not represented above.” So I have no way to disable, delete or otherwise lower my monthly bill, even though the collaborator account is no longer in use, or needs to be changed to a different persons. Any suggestions?

Hi, Could you help me calculate the average results (ratings) of a student live online evaluation? I am testing 2 tools to collect the feedback of respondents, one is designed with Typeform and the other with Airtable. It is not possible to add a “multiple select” in the primary field with Typeform (“names” of students can only be added in the second column), while name can be put in the primary field with Airtable form. Does it matter to average ratings? The evaluation goes as follows: The respondents select the name of the person to evaluate from a “multiple choice/select” list and rate them using "opinion scales/ratings). The answers are imported to Airtable at the end of the live session as you can see from the screenshots. I would like to calculate the average of ratings for each group of names and use the value in the base. I noticed that the “group functionality” does not help as it is not possible to use/extract the average values in the same or a new table. Do you have any ide

Hello! I’m populating my base with data from an external API and would like to update it regularly as new results come in without creating new duplicate records. I’ve read a couple of other topics that discuss that (like this one and this one), but am still struggling to figure it out. I’m using the [uri] field in the base records and trying to match them to the array of [uri]s from the api. If there’s a match, the record would update, and if not, a new one would be created. FWIW my knowledge of js is survivalist at best! I have an Airtable Form setup which collects client info when the client is interested in scheduling an appointment. The form creates a new record in my database. I’m trying to automate sending an email to the client when the form is submitted. I would like to avoid using the “Record created” trigger since I will occasionally be manually adding records that I do not want to trigger the email.

Hi Everyone, I’m new to formula’s and can’t quite work out the right answer. I have job listings that I want to archive once they have passed an expiry date. I currently have a status column that has a dropdown to select ‘archive’, once this is selected it goes onto another view (using a filter) but it would be really useful to automatically move this once it reaches the expiry date’, rather than doing it manually. Good day, Airtable Community, I have a base that looks like this, And I would like to create a formula that displays true (or 1) if that day is today, so if today is Monday, all the fields that contain Monday will be 1. But I cannot find any way to do this with the Today() and other date functions. I strongly believe I am missing something. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi there, I’m trying to use the DATEADD function to calculate an end time for an event. My formula is: DATEADD({Timeslot StartTime},{Duration mins},‘minutes’) {Duration mins} can be a lookup field or a formula field. I’ve tried all formatting options for these fields but none are producing the correct output. If I make {Duration mins} a text field, the output is correct. I need to make the formula work with {Duration mins} being either a lookup field or a formula ~ What am I doing wrong? P.S. I have also tried to troubleshoot the issue by toggling the GMT settings on and off, all to no avail. Thanks for your help.

Grateful to those in this community who helped me set up my family’s bookstore inventory. It’s going well and I often recommend Airtable to others. So now I’m using this formula… Title & " • " Author & " • " Place & " • " Date But because a number of books do NOT indicate author, place, or date, I sometimes end up with this: Title • • • Date That’s not great for catalogs. Is there a formula I can use that will leave off the extra bullet(s) when one or more of the fields are empty?

I don’t know if what i’m attempting is supported in rollup fields. I have a rollup field, Level, which uses my table’s linked field, Academic year, to pull in a field called, Students from my Academic year table: I’ve attempted a variety of formulas in the rollup using the FIND function, all of them return 0. Here’s some examples: FIND(ARRAYJOIN(values), "John Doe") FIND(ARRAYJOIN(values) & "", "John Doe") FIND(ARRAYJOIN(ARRAYCOMPACT(ARRAYUNIQUE(values))), "John Doe") Is it possible for me to get a result that isn’t 0? Or is the FIND function not supported in rollup fields? (I should add that I’m not really searching the name “John Doe”, but rather searching names that are present in the referenced field.) I’m trying to figure out how to keep a View sorted in a chronological order. Initially, a client fills out a form online which collects their pertinent info and adds them to my database. After discussing the needs of my client they send me a deposit to get on my waitlist. I have set up a “Waitlist” View in my base that filters clients based on whether or not I have received a deposit. I would like the “Waitlist” view to be sorted in the order that deposits are received. Ideally, when I receive a deposit, I enter it into the “Deposit” field, which automatically adds it to the “Waitlist” view. How do I keep this view sorted in the order that deposits are added (or in the order that they are added to the “Waitlist” view)?

Hi there! I want to send reminders on collaborator emails. I build a table where they create reminders for themselves. The email has to be sent at the selected time. I try to use automation trigger “When record matches condition” or “When record enters view”. In the “Reminder” table I have a “Date&Time” field and a field with formula: IF({Date&Time} <= NOW(), 1, 0). I noticed what the formula field is not updated instantly when the condition is true. QUESTION: How often is it updated? Is it a best practice to use such solutions?

Hello, My app keeps data on my server in sync with changes made to Airtable. My question: What is the best way to subscribe to record updates when using the blocks API? The useRecords hook simply returns all of the table’s records when a record is modified so it doesn’t seem the best way to keep track of updates. It looks as if the best way to do this is to write a custom useWatchable on all the records of the table so that I receive individual records as they get updated but I’d like to know if there’s a more elegant solution than this. I’d also like to know if there’s a native way to get notified via callback or event when a new record is created or if I’ll have to keep track of this on my end. Many thanks

Hey everyone, Hoping somebody can help here. I’m having trouble returning some info from a formula I have created. I have a table to show the duration of certain tickets that are received for problems. I have a Date Raised field, Date Resolved field, and a Days Outstanding field. I want the Days Outstanding to return the difference between Date Raised and Date Resolved when there is a value in the Date Resolved field, and I want it return the difference between Date Raised and TODAY() when the Date Resolved field is empty. I’m currently using this formula: IF({Date Resolved}!=BLANK(), DATETIME_DIFF({Date Resolved},{Date Raised}, ‘days’), DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{Date Raised}, ‘days’)) It’s working fine when Date Resolved is populated, but returns NaN when it’s empty. I have created another field just to check that the today-date resolved formula works and it’s returning exactly what I want, it just doesn’t work when it’s inside the IF formula can anybody explain this and show me a solu
