Hi all, This is my first time posting, hope the formatting of this is okay. I’m trying to create an automation where when a cell is filled in with a link to an action plan, an email with that action plan is sent to a contractor, whose contact information is connected by a look up field to another table. The layout I currently have in Table 1: A1 is the Link to Contractor Record in Table 2. B1 is the Trigger cell, in this Case a cell containing a URL to the action plan. The goal is that when cell B1 is filled in, the contractor in A1 is notified. The contractor’s information is already inputted way ahead of time, the only information needed is the URL that is entered into 1B. The contractor is not a collaborator, which I saw could be problematic on the plus plan, but I have the Pro plan so I should be able to send outside emails. Hello, I am in the EST timezone and my boss is in the PST timezone. We are working on a shared Airtable base. Is the timezone displayed locally for each of us? For example, if she enters 6am, should I see 6am or 9am when I view the record? Thanks for any tips/guidance! Jena

My current formula works. IF({Post Date}<{Today’s Date},‘READY’) But if {Post Date} is empty it is also saying ‘READY’ What should I add to the formula that ignores a field if it is empty.

Hi all, I would like to filter my records inside the vega-lite app to be independent from various views. Therefore I’m looking for a way to filter strings: record: “ABCD” record: “ABKF” record: “APFK” I want to visualise only records where the string starts with “AB”. As far as I read the documentation, it is possible to filter numbers and complete strings. But is it possible to truncate strings? Or maybe there is another workaround? I expect to use it inside the transform statement. This is handled in two tables Items to order (here I manage the status of whether the product can be shipped or not) Orders What I am looking for is to be able to have the sum of the total amount only of what is going to be shipped. Currently I have a Rolllup type field in the orders table that brings the data of the items to order that makes me the sum of everything (shipment + pending to be shipped). Is there a way to get the calculation only for those products that are marked to be shipped?

Excel has the IFERROR function to elegantly catch when a formula fails. Airtable doesn’t seem to have an equivalent. Is there a way to emulate this functionality? I have an airtable with a list of books that I’m reading. They have a start date and an end date, but I don’t write the end date until I’ve finished the book. I group books by end date and would like the group to be named “Currently reading” instead “#ERROR!”. Thank you

Using the formula for date add as found in AT, I can get the date to SUBTRACT days but not to ADD days. I have a date column {datereqsent} and I want {duedate} to calculated to 30 days from datereqsent. I have tried changing the minus sign to a plus sign and that is not working. TIA

I have a formula field that includes a linked record field {Supplier}. The result is the text in the linked record field has quotation marks. Is there a way to remove the quotation marks from my results? Said formula: AND({FORMULA1}!="", {FORMULA 2}!="", {FORMULA 3}!="") no matter what combination of those 3 fields are empty or populated it always returns 1. i only want it to return 1 once all those fields have returned a value. conditional automations using ‘and’ also return true even if not all of the options are true when using formula fields. are we seriously not able to check if several formulas did or didnt populate? am i missing something? seems to me that AND() is behaving more like OR() but i have no idea what im talking about

Is there a way I can add an attachment that coordinates to the entire table and not just a particular record or field in that table. For instance, instructions on how to complete the table and the rationale behind it. I did include field descriptions for each field but I need to explain WHY we need the data that goes into each field and record.

Hello All, I have a base with 50 $ fields and I want to total all of them. Is there a simple formula to do this or am I resigned to {1 Cost}+{2 Cost}+{3 Cost}+{4 Cost}+{5 Cost}+ etc…?

I’m expecting this group of records to be sorted in the opposite direction. It doesn’t seem like it’s sorting by the entire string since “.5” is before “.25” and “.75” is after “.25” Is there a way to correct this?

Hi - I would like to be able to sum the individual digits in a date - e.g, a given date = the sum of its individual digits. Some examples: Date: 7/13/1969 = 7 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 9 = 36 Date: 12/20/2019 = 1 + 2 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 + 1 + 9 = 17 I have some idea that I could convert the dates to text, then do a “value” of each digit, but nothing I’ve tried has worked. I’m grateful for any ideas!

Hi! I’m trying to create a new field on my table that is a combination of two different Single Select fields. One column is the Likelihood of an event happen (1- Rare, 2- Unlikely, 3- Possible, 4-Likely, 5- Almost certain) and the other column is the Impact of that event happening (1-Insignificant, 2-Minor, 3-Moderate, 4-Major, 5-Catastrophic). The new column that I want to create will give me a “score” from the combination of the Likelihood and the Impact (1- Low Risk, 2-Moderate Risk, 3-High Risk, 4- Critical Risk). So for example, if the event is Almost Certain (5) and but the consequences are 1- Insignificant that will mean 1-Low Risk. Could someone give me guidance on automatizing this score? Thanks!

Right now I have a basic quarterly reporting function working in one of my bases, but I’m curious how I would improve it. I have a formula that looks at the starting date of a project and uses that info to tag it with the correct quarter and year. Great. That works fine. Where I’m a little more confused is how to then get that info consistently out onto a reporting tab. As of the moment, I’ve created a tab with each quarter of 2021, and I have an automation made for each quarter so that when a record appears with a 1Q-21, 2Q-21, 3Q-21, or 4Q-21 tag, it will be linked to the corresponding quarter record in my new tab. The issue, though, is that I would have to do this for every quarter of every year. Not the end of the world, but a little annoying for the long term. Is there any reasonable way to automate the process of creating the new quarter records for each year and automatically adding any records that should go into those quarters going forward without manually adding each quar

Hi there, :wave: I’m hoping someone could help me out there with an automation issue. So here it is : I’m recruting people. So I manually create a new record in a TABLE A. This record contains several information : email, name, contact date… I’ve also created a “single select field” called “Document received ?”. The choice is between YES or NO. An Airtable form is sent to the candidate. It helps me gathering datas such as : ID Card, Licence driving, email, phone number, etc… Then, the form appears in a view : in a TABLE B. Here is the problem : When a new form is received in TABLE B, I want to automatically update the record that matches the name (or the email) of the candidate in TABLE A. So I want the field “Document received ?” to automatically turn “YES”. PS : I’ve created a “LINK TO” field in table A and an automation that works. BUT I have to manually update the field before the automation runs. Otherwise I receive an email that alerts me about an automation error. Do you

As a result of my newbie status I have a lot of fields in each TABLE of my base that are not going to be used. This happened over the course of several weeks as I developed and revised my base. Is there an easy way of knowing if fields in my TABLES are being used anywhere in the base? And if they’re not a quick way to delete them?

Hi, i need help with a formula if this is possible. i have a table containing a “date” field and a “formula” field that calculates the age from that. ( DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), {Person nr}, ‘years’) & ’ years, ’ & MOD(DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), {Person nr}, ‘months’), 12) & ’ months’ ) everything is perfect here so far, but i would like to make a new field that contains age groups, like 0-10, 10-18, 18-30, 30-50, 50-100 lets say. is there a formula for making this? and can it change buy it self when a person goes from let say age 29 to 30 and so on? or is there a way to search, filter or group already for lets say ages between 20-40 or 30 and up? or 25-45?
