I followed the Airtable tutorial on reminders to the letter: How to create a simple reminder – Airtable Support However, I’m getting an error, it looks like perhaps my formula is failing, although I copied and pasted it from the guide. Any ideas?

Good day, Airtable Community, I have a base that looks like this, And I would like to create a formula that displays true (or 1) if that day is today, so if today is Monday, all the fields that contain Monday will be 1. But I cannot find any way to do this with the Today() and other date functions. I strongly believe I am missing something. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi there, I’m trying to use the DATEADD function to calculate an end time for an event. My formula is: DATEADD({Timeslot StartTime},{Duration mins},‘minutes’) {Duration mins} can be a lookup field or a formula field. I’ve tried all formatting options for these fields but none are producing the correct output. If I make {Duration mins} a text field, the output is correct. I need to make the formula work with {Duration mins} being either a lookup field or a formula ~ What am I doing wrong? P.S. I have also tried to troubleshoot the issue by toggling the GMT settings on and off, all to no avail. Thanks for your help.

Grateful to those in this community who helped me set up my family’s bookstore inventory. It’s going well and I often recommend Airtable to others. So now I’m using this formula… Title & " • " Author & " • " Place & " • " Date But because a number of books do NOT indicate author, place, or date, I sometimes end up with this: Title • • • Date That’s not great for catalogs. Is there a formula I can use that will leave off the extra bullet(s) when one or more of the fields are empty?

I don’t know if what i’m attempting is supported in rollup fields. I have a rollup field, Level, which uses my table’s linked field, Academic year, to pull in a field called, Students from my Academic year table: I’ve attempted a variety of formulas in the rollup using the FIND function, all of them return 0. Here’s some examples: FIND(ARRAYJOIN(values), "John Doe") FIND(ARRAYJOIN(values) & "", "John Doe") FIND(ARRAYJOIN(ARRAYCOMPACT(ARRAYUNIQUE(values))), "John Doe") Is it possible for me to get a result that isn’t 0? Or is the FIND function not supported in rollup fields? (I should add that I’m not really searching the name “John Doe”, but rather searching names that are present in the referenced field.) I’m trying to figure out how to keep a View sorted in a chronological order. Initially, a client fills out a form online which collects their pertinent info and adds them to my database. After discussing the needs of my client they send me a deposit to get on my waitlist. I have set up a “Waitlist” View in my base that filters clients based on whether or not I have received a deposit. I would like the “Waitlist” view to be sorted in the order that deposits are received. Ideally, when I receive a deposit, I enter it into the “Deposit” field, which automatically adds it to the “Waitlist” view. How do I keep this view sorted in the order that deposits are added (or in the order that they are added to the “Waitlist” view)?

Hi there! I want to send reminders on collaborator emails. I build a table where they create reminders for themselves. The email has to be sent at the selected time. I try to use automation trigger “When record matches condition” or “When record enters view”. In the “Reminder” table I have a “Date&Time” field and a field with formula: IF({Date&Time} <= NOW(), 1, 0). I noticed what the formula field is not updated instantly when the condition is true. QUESTION: How often is it updated? Is it a best practice to use such solutions?

Hello, My app keeps data on my server in sync with changes made to Airtable. My question: What is the best way to subscribe to record updates when using the blocks API? The useRecords hook simply returns all of the table’s records when a record is modified so it doesn’t seem the best way to keep track of updates. It looks as if the best way to do this is to write a custom useWatchable on all the records of the table so that I receive individual records as they get updated but I’d like to know if there’s a more elegant solution than this. I’d also like to know if there’s a native way to get notified via callback or event when a new record is created or if I’ll have to keep track of this on my end. Many thanks

Hi, I have a table called ‘Communiques’ which is linked to ‘Contact’ records. I want to be able to - when I create a new task record from Communiques to automatically have the ‘Contact’ filled in from the Contact associated from the Communiques table. Is this possible? Hey everyone, Hoping somebody can help here. I’m having trouble returning some info from a formula I have created. I have a table to show the duration of certain tickets that are received for problems. I have a Date Raised field, Date Resolved field, and a Days Outstanding field. I want the Days Outstanding to return the difference between Date Raised and Date Resolved when there is a value in the Date Resolved field, and I want it return the difference between Date Raised and TODAY() when the Date Resolved field is empty. I’m currently using this formula: IF({Date Resolved}!=BLANK(), DATETIME_DIFF({Date Resolved},{Date Raised}, ‘days’), DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{Date Raised}, ‘days’)) It’s working fine when Date Resolved is populated, but returns NaN when it’s empty. I have created another field just to check that the today-date resolved formula works and it’s returning exactly what I want, it just doesn’t work when it’s inside the IF formula can anybody explain this and show me a solu

How do I describe technically correct what I am looking for? This is what I am looking for: I have a “list of zip codes” where each zip code is assigned to a certain value. This value is a tax rate. I also have a “database of clients” where there is always a zip code. I want to find out which tax rate applies to them according on the “list of zip codes”. 3.I have a already a field where I link from my “database of clients” to the “list of zip codes”. If I type in manually in each line the zip code it works! BUT: I created a table where I put the list of zip codes and tax values, I linked it from my table where I store my user data and now I can look up manually by typing in the zip code in my user table the tax value from the new table. I am attempting to set up an automation and have a script update a linked field in a table. When testing my script the output gives me this error. “Your script has a syntax error” (adding this for search engines cause I could not find this on google at all) The bit of code that makes this error happen is this (it has no syntax highlighted saying it’s an error) await customersTable.updateRecordAsync(depo, { 'Dams': dogs }) depo is from here let depo = depositors.getRecord(depositors.recordIds[index]) depo looks like this when logged: {id: "rec1231412312", name: "Some name"} dogs is an array of objects (“dog” records) like this. I’m not sure where to go from here cause this error leads me nowhere. I have tried just passing an array of IDs. I’ve tried passing an array of objects with just the IDs and not the name. Nothing has worked so far. Is anyone able to tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Hello Friends - I created a formula to return the Week # an Item Sold, it was working great until this past week. In the screenshot below the second item in the list sold on August 10, 2019, at 9:01 pm. But the formula in the Week Sold field is returning that the item sold in Week 33 when it is actually Week 32. Here is the formula I’m using for the Week Sold field: DATETIME_FORMAT({Start Date},‘w’) Need your help, I think this is due to the fact that I have hours in my Date Sold field, but I’m not certain how to proceed with correcting the formula. We are looking to import a large Excel dataset into AirTable, ~500 multi-sheet xlsx files, as individual Bases. The Add a Base > Import data > Excel file selector has a limit for 1 file. Is there a means of creating multiple Bases off of a bulk upload process?

Hi, I’d like to rebound on a question by @Javier_Growth_Lab which has not been solved and the topic closed. I have set an automation to send a mail to my base collaborators. It works for all of them but one, The email is correct and is associated to my collaborator’s account. I did not set any address restrictions and he otherwise can perfectly interact with and edit the base. So I am a bit lost, I’ve tried the automations step by step and it works for other users, but for that one collaborator, the run fail message reports that I can’t email non-collaborators - but he is indeed a collaborator. In the documentation for the NOW() function it states that: If the base is closed, it will update approximately every hour only when the base has time-dependent automation triggers or actions, or sync dependencies. I have a Zapier process that polls a view, does this count as a sync dependency? The formula i’m using calculates whether the value in a date field is greater than the current datetime, and if it is it will appear in the View that Zapier is watching. It’s important that the formula is calculated 24/7 and not just when the base is open.

I’m trying to use Airtable Automations to an update to a single select field that I use for status on my records. I cannot see a way to tell my automation to change the value in this field to one of the pre-defined possible values for my status field, so I tell it to just use the name of one of my values. The Automation then creates an entirely new status for my single select filed, with that name, so I wind up with a duplicate value in my single select field, and the record status is set to that duplicate value with an identical name, rather than to my desired value. This means that my downstream automations triggered from that desired status do not fire, because the record is set to some new status which is completely separate, even though it has the same name. How can I make my automation update the single select field value to one of my predefined possible values?

I am using python to run sum calculations and data summaries at various sub-groupings. This is being done using python pandas and the data format is a dataframe. I have to convert this dataframe to a list according to the airtable python wrapper documentation, which I have used before, just not the dataframe part. After converting to a list, I am getting this error requests.exceptions.HTTPError: (‘422 Client Error: Unprocessable Entity for url: https://api.airtable.com/v0/appQzuUudoe2rSAR0/Test-2’, “422 Client Error: Unprocessable Entity for url: https://api.airtable.com/v0/appQzuUudoe2rSAR0/Test-2 [Error: {‘type’: ‘INVALID_REQUEST_BODY’, ‘message’: ‘Could not parse request body’}]”) is anyone familiar with this any why it is happening?

Hi, Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. I’ve got a table with 3 fields: Customer (Single Line Text) Interests (Multiple Select Field) VTS (Formula Field) and I’m trying to get the VTS field to populate with the Customer Code if “VTS” has been selected in the Interests field. I used the formula IF({Interests} = “VTS”, {Customer}) Screenshot 2021-02-13 231010|700x490 and it returned a result when “VTS” was the only item selected in the Interests field, but not when more than one option had been selected. I’m assuming it’s the equals sign that needs editing, but I’m not sure what I need to replace it with. Any help would be much appreciated.
