Hi, I have searched around for someone with a similar problem but can’t find exactly my issue, perhaps someone can help. For work projects, we have an Airtable base to track the status and components of our collections (think fashion collection). Now, I want to track how long each collection dwells in each ‘status’ without having to input that information manually. We have a big team working together and each person will likely not remember every time to log how long they were working on their part of the project. We have a status table with a single select field with options like ‘design’, ‘marketing’, ‘graphics’, etc. I have a last modified field that tells us the last time the status field was changed. But I want a log of every time it was changed, and what it was changed to. I know I can look at the expanded record but that’s rather tedious. So I’ve created a linked table called ‘Status Time Log’. Is it possible to update the lookup filed on a linked table via the API? I have a projects table. An a people table. O the projects table I have a lookup field that grabs the first name from the people table. Using the API, would I be able to change the name by simply updating the lookup field on the projects table? Thank you!

Hello! I am trying to use Zapier, to take information gathered from an AirTable form to create an outbound text message. I have everything working except for the use of the date / time in the outbound text due to the Airtable format of date time (2020-12-17T06:00:00.00). Is there a way to change the outbound formatting of the date time to something more legible? Thanks in advance, Jackson

I’ve noticed that when using .loadCSSFromString() the frontend renders multiple duplicates of the same <style>/<style> element in the DOM body. Is there a way around this that I’m missing? In the example below, .loadCSSFromString() is placed at top-level and not within a loop.

Got a newbie question for you. I’ve got 2 tables linked together: Viewers and Movies, through a field on Movies table called, “Fans”. I’m trying to look up the viewer of a movie and change their status to “Favorite” if it is currently “Watched”. let viewer = record.getCellValue("Viewers"); if {name: viewer[0].getCellValueAsString('Status')} == "Watched" { updateRecordAsync(writer[0], { 'Status': {name: 'Favorite'}; }) } The error gives me an unexpected token ‘{’, which I suspect isn’t the real problem. Any ideas here? Would love to get my first script block running!

Hey yo I have a simple use case, I have an airtable form receiving submissions. I can see the submissions in grid view in the same table. But now I want to make changes to those submissions without changing the original submissions. How do I do that? What I tried, Creating sync table in the same base, but that doesn’t seem to be an option. Help appreciated.

Hello! This is my first time on the forum and I’m excited to leverage everyone’s knowledge. Our product is in dire need of being able to list the “Top 10” of certain group values, essentially leveraging the Autonumber feature in different views. The best way to explain my question is with an example right!! In this image, I see that Airtable auto numbers the names(Pink), but I cannot figure out how to get that number in an actual field (RED), as this is filtered and sorted by the performance (Orange Arrows). Any and all help on this would fully allow us to move our entire product onto Airtable and to finally get us off Sheets. Thank you!

This feels really basic, but I don’t know what I am missing and new at the formula editing. The issue I am having. I am working off one date (Purchase Contract date) and trying to add a number of days (Home Inspection Contingency) to the contract date, to find (Home Inspection Due) due date. It is working for all number of day options eg: 5 days, 7, 14 etc, except when NONE is selected or when the selection is left blank. In either of these cases it still populates the date as a purchase contract date. Ideally in Home Inspection Due it would populate NONE. Is this possible? My formula is: DATEADD({Purchase Contract Date}, {Home Inspection Contingency},‘days’) below. #1 and #2 are wrong, #3 is correct

I’m new to Airtable (and databases generally) so I apologize that I can’t articulate my problem better than this. But here goes: Through Zapier, every day I send an Airtable form to my clients. When they complete the form, a new record appears in the base. So far so good. Ideally, they would complete the form every day of the week so there would be one record per client per day. But they sometimes forget… Is there a way to automatically create a blank record (with null values) for the days when they forget to complete the form? I need to track these no-response days and don’t want to create the records with null values manually. I’ll be (extremely) grateful for any help. -Jason

I currently have a formula that calculates the cost of a child attending a class over a number of weeks. Extrachildren*({Weeks FM}+{WeeksSR})*5 This works well until I was told if they book for 11 weeks then the 11th week is free (they never book for more than 11). So I need the formula to multiply by 10 if 11 weeks are booked. Can somebody please tell me how that should be expressed in the formula. Thanks in advance Phil

Hello – I have two tables and have an automation running from conditions met on the first table to create new records on another table. I have several automations running between these tables with no issues for some reason, one of them keeps creating two extra records. I’ve even tried deleting it and recreating it. Any ideas? You can see here that it is only meant to create 5 records but it’s creating 7.

Sorry in advance - I am a very green user to Airtable and Databases in general. I would like to make a formula that can scan a record for a word and then automatically make the value 0. Example: Line Item ------------Unit ----------- Rate---------Total Cost Invoice - 0011-------1.00------------$100----------$100 Bid - 0100------------2.00------------$500----------$0 In this case I am using: Rate*Unit to reach the total cost. This will mean that the “Line Item” Bid-0100 will pop up with a total cost of $500, but I need it to show 0 as it hasn’t actually cost me anything. Is this possible?

Is it possible to put the Enter key in the formula? I tried the Enter key code (^p, it is Enter key code in the Word) , but it didn’t work. So I wanted to get the API key so I could integrate some zaps, navigated to the API ‘mode’ of the desktop app and now its stuck there. There’s a big blue button that says “Open Base” that does nothing when I click it. I’ve uninstalled the app and redownloaded the latest version, and every time I open it its still stuck. Help!

Hey all! I have a brand new base with some data that I imported in a CSV. It created a table called Classic Rock Songs (which is as awesome as it sounds) and populated records into 3 fields: Song + Artist Song Artist Each artist can have multiple songs (or at least the ones that were’t one-hit-wonders!), and I want to create a second table that: Lists all unique artists from the Classic Rock Songs table into the Artists table Links the records so that all songs for each artists show up in the Artists table I’m basically struggling with the first step above, and how to create a new table with unique artists. Appreciate any ideas… rock on! :guitar:

Hi there! I’m setting up an editing task list for a wedding photo + video business. I have a lookup field set up for the wedding date, and would like to have one field that returns the deadline for each deliverable (various films, galleries, etc.), based on differing #s of days from the wedding date. E.g. preview photo gallery due in 21 days, versus a film due in 60 days, etc. If I use the formula shown below, it seems like I have to have separate fields for each of my different delivery timings (+21 days for some, +60 days for others, etc.), which really muddies up my table. This also doesn’t work well in cases where my deadline needs to deviate from the rule (for example, a scenario where we need to deliver in 14 days rather than our usual 21 days) I’d like to be able to enter the number of days post-wedding that the item is to be delivered into one field (e.g. 21, 60, 90, etc.), then use a formula in another field to spit out the deadline based on that specific number of days after

Hi, I have a base where we key in the ID numbers of each person in a column - Males have odd numbers and females have even numbers. Would like to create a column that automatically tags them as either Male or female based on this data but I cant seem to figure our what formula to use. Could someone help me? It would be of great help. Examples: XXXXXX-XX-5557 = Male XXXXXX-XX-5556 = Female.

Hey AT Users. Has anyone come across a good solution for either timestamping an updated element in a field or generating a timestamp for when a computed field contains a value vs when it is empty? For context: In our base there is a rich text field which includes a check list of about 10 items (done to eliminate the need of 10 separate fields, as there is already a LOT of data to process in this base). Using the following formula I can only return a timestamp for when the entire field was modified, not the particular element in that field: IF(FIND(" Milestone “,{Milestones Checklist}),DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_TIMEZONE(LAST_MODIFIED_TIME(), ‘America/Toronto’), ‘M/D/YYYY LT’,”")) If anyone has a work around for either timestamping when each of the 10 elements is marked with an x OR knows a workaround for timestamping a computed field - then I could add an IF(FIND(" Milestone",{Milestones Checklist}),“Yes”,"") field and then timestamp WHEN that yes appears. Any thoughts???
