I have inherited a project and have been working on the API side of things but am now getting into the table structure and have a question. Structure: ’Employees’ Table. All employees in the company. Includes Email, Specialties (Link to Specialties), and Coverages (Link to Coverages). ’Specialties’ Table. All specialties provided by the company. Includes ‘Name’, and ’ Link to Employees’ ’Coverages’ Table. All coverages provided by the company. Includes ‘Name’, and ‘Link to Employees’ The idea is that I can access the Employees table via the API and get all the specialties and coverages an employee offers. In the linked Specialties column of Employees I can add Specialties just fine and the data finds it way back and forth. Delete an Employee from ‘Link to Employees’ from Specialties and it is great. The group added this Coverages table and has added all the Employees to the ‘Link to Employees’. They sit there just great. I am now trying to get them to back populate to the Employees tab

The problem with the “bar chart” (which is more accurately a column chart) is that for long labels, they get cut off. Anyone know of a way to generate an actual bar chart (horizontal bars) from a data series?

Hi, I copied Airtable’s Currency Conversion Import script and kept everything the same except renamed the table and fields to the following: const table = base.getTable(‘Currencies & Exchange Rates’); const conversion_field = ‘USD → Currency (Non-Static)’ const currency_code_field = ‘Currency’; I’m currently getting the following error message when I try to run the script: What’s the issue here and how can I fix this? Hi, I’m passing file uploads (jpg and pdf) from a Webflow form and would like to deposit the attachments into Airtable through Zapier. These attachments should then be zapped over back to Webflow to create a new CMS item. I’m having trouble bringing the files over from the initial webflow form upload over to the airtable database. They only want to show up as URLs but not actual attachment. Is there a reason for this? I’ve seen an app for this come up time and time again in my search (miniextensions), but I don’t want to pay $39/mo for it just yet. I have also tried creating an automation, but it doesn’t seem to work. The image starts getting uploaded but it disappears after a second— Is there an app I can integrate as a step in my Zapier process? Thanks!

Hello, i am working on a look-up for a 2 dimensional matrix. A little bit of context for my problem: I am trying to find a value based on two different (numerical) inputs: mileage of a car and operational time. Hey everyone! I’m looking to provide users of my website an easy way to search the content of my airtable. I figured the Search app would do the trick. It works well - but I can’t determine if there is a way to embed the Search App into my website, similar to how you can embed your airtable view into your website using an iframe. Anyone know of if this is possible or how I might accomplish this? Any help is appreciated!

I have a field called “Category” where each of the categories are plural (i.e., “Widgets”, “Cogs”, etc.) In the first field (record) i have a formula that grabs a product name, concatenated with the “Category” at the end. I would like to have the “s” removed from the category name. Here’s my current formula: MFR & " " & {Model} & " " & {Category} So essentially, I would like to remove the last letter, from the {Categroy} name. Thanks in advance for any help on this!!

Hello, Is there a way to sort by name, but ignore “The” in the sort calculation. I am trying to sort albums with a Artist + Album field and would like the sorting to ignore “The” in the artist name.

I have a larger base (for Airtable), about 30,000 rows and want to change one field with about 60 options to single select, to help prevent human error in the future when adding new items to this base. When I attempt to change this field from short line text to single select, it times out and asks me to refresh the page, and the change is not saved after several attempts. I’ve tried to turn off the “color” feature to make it easier to process, and still no luck. Is there a limit to this feature? What am I missing?

Hi, I’m new to airtable and could really need some help. I’m trying to automate a flow where an email is send to a client every time a new attachment is added to an existing record. For that purpose i’m using the build-in automation feature. The trigger I’m using is “When a record is updated”, View “Grid view”, and Fields “Attachment”. The action i’m using is the Gmail: send email. All this works fine. My problem is that is sends the email twice when I upload a new attachment? I have tried the same setup with Slack, and also here is triggers the actions twice. What am I doing wrong? Any help is much appreciated! Best regards, Jarl

In my [Workers] table, I just copied 6,000 cells from formula field {All employers for automation} to a link records field {All employers new} which is linked to the table [Employers]. All of the text strings in {All employers for automation} were taken directly from a linked records field {Temp employer} which is also linked to [Employers]. 5,700 of them went through with no problem and linked back with the original record in [Employers] no problem. About 300 of them, though, failed to link and created a new record with the same name in [Employers]. Why would that be? Am I just asking too much of AT? (to be precise, i did this for three columns at the same time, totaling 18,000 records copied and linked. the other items were serial numbers and matched perfectly with their counterpart). I see when sharing a grid view link, users can’t see and therefore can’t click on the hidden fields, but when I create a base view link, the blue box with the hidden fields can be seen and clicked on. Is there no way to hide the hidden fields in base view? I was hoping to give users just 1 link so they can see the whole base with all the tables. If I can’t hide the hidden fields (with lots of formula workings), I’ll have to create 23 grid view links, 1 for each table! Hoping I’m missing something obvious here. Any help would be greatly appreciated it!

Hello everyone, It may sounds stupid but I have an issue to sync cancelled events (Calendly) to my Tickets Table (Airtable) via Zapier. Basically, when someone cancels their attendance on Calendly, I don’t know how to change their status from ‘Booked’ to ‘Cancelled’ on Airtable via Zapier. I am using Calendly for my ticketing/attendance management. I have different kinds of recurring events, with different times/dates, with different users booking/cancelling their ticket. On Airtable my ticket table has a single select column called ‘Status’ so I would know when someone has booked or cancelled their attendance. The problem is I don’t know how to make Zapier updates the status column automatically from Calendly when it’s a cancellation (I know how to create a record when someone books though).

Is it possible to get the “Suggested Views” to stop showing in the sidebar? This takes up a lot of prime real estate. On my screen I can only see 5 of my many views :stuck_out_tongue: Also, I would prefer to have a single “Create a view button”, but that’s more of a feature request.

I can’t figure out a simple formula. Name (field) = John Smith I need the formula to come up with a result if the search for “Smith” is true. I tried IF(FIND('Smith', Name) > 0) Does not work. Please share ideas.

I’m trying to make a script that will read from a Date field and copy and paste that data into a Link to field in the same table. If there is a better way of doing this I am completely open to it. The end goal is to setup an Automation that will check for a change in date from the source and reflect that in a weekly report table.

I have a table that tracks the steps and results in a process. Sometimes we modulate the steps, but often the steps remain the same over multiple submissions/rows. For example, we have molds that need to be cleaned using a variety of different tools, solvents, and methods. I have a column titled Mold Cleaning with options “Standard” and “R&D”. I would like to be able to have subsequent columns autofill based on the selection in this column. If “Standard” is selected, then I would like the tools/solvents/methods to input our standard selections for that. If “R&D” is selected then I would like for the tools/solvents/methods to remain blank for input. Can this be done through scripting or some other means?

Hi again! One more question from me for this base. I want to combine multiple IF statements from data in two columns. I’m working with the ‘points length’ field and the ‘total rating’ field. I’m attaching screenshots of what I’m talking about and the formulas I’ve tried, since it’s probably easier than me trying to explain. (I’m new to Airtable formulas and still not entirely sure what I’m doing!) In this screen shot you’ll see that the documentation status column doesn’t differentiate between ‘well-documented’ videos with perfect point length (40) and those with less.
