Hi all. Still learning the in’s and out’s of scripting, so please bare with me. I have a linked field, called {project name} that produces a name based on a formula. The name has the following format:" text1 * text2 " - so two words separated by an " * ". I’d like to append the text and remove everything from the " * ". So the new text would just be “text1” I can get this far: SUBSTITUTE({Project Name}, “*”, “”) - but this just removes the *, and not all the letters after. I think I’d need to use LEFT or RIGHT in some capacity, but that only looks at letter position? Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks

The process would be to scan QR on a label made by page designer. On mobile you’d tap the button, REMOVE 1 Button action subtracts one from the QOH cell of that record.

Hello! We use a simple bid and job numbering system to create new bid and job numbers, and we have a table in a base where we input a new record for each new bid and job. Is it possible to have the scripting app do this for us automatically (or after clicking a button or run)? The recipe for bids and jobs is as follows: XYY.MM#.### where: X is 5 for jobs, and 4 for bids YY is the 2 digit year such as 20 for 2020 MM is the 2 digit month, such as 09 for September and #.### is a running counter of the respective bids or jobs that we have, such as 3232 for bids or 6933 for jobs. Here are two examples: 520.096.933 is a job that was created in September 2020 and is the 6,933rd job that we have ever created. Is this possible to do with a script?

We use linked records to create sub-tasks (the tasks are in one table, sub-tasks are in another table where the entries link to a task) However, when you look at all the subtasks for a given task, you cannot filter out “completed” subtasks. As a result, it crowds the view. One solution is to unlink the subtask once it’s completed, but then you can never go back and figure out what task that subtask belonged to Is there any field we can create in the Subtask table that will capture the Task it is linked to, and then preserve that information even when it’s unlinked? Hi! I have been using Airtable for a bit now, but just upgraded to Pro plan and am new to trying to ask for help on here. I just found the fantastic Fancy Finances base on Universe and have been going through trying to update it with all my info so that I can use it to track my $$. I have read all the informative instructions, but am a bit confused because when I am inputting income as negative values in the Deposits table, as per the instructions, it doesn’t seem that they are going anywhere? From what I gather in the other tables, the Deposits, when added as a “negative” value, should increase the running balance under Accounts; entering “positive” values under the Expenses table should and is decreasing the running balance under Accounts. Hi, I’m new to the airtable community, and slowly understanding formulas, but I can’t figure out how to write a script to do the following. This is my base: https://airtable.com/shrVDFgXXjqANyMWd When I new record comes into this base, I want to set a trigger that checks the bid amount against the current “MaxBid,” and if it is ≤ to it, I want to then make changes to another field in that record. In this case, if the “Bid amount” of the new record is ≤ the “MaxBid,” I want to unlink that record from the “Item bidding on” so that it doesn’t pass unto the other table. I have a form where users can post their time-based results. To make sure data is valid I use 3 fields in the form representing hours, minutes and seconds. So I end up with 3 integers in my table. How to I make a DURATION format (h:mm:ss) out of these fields?

Hi! I’m at a loss for how to write this formula correctly, even after referencing multiple other topics on here. What I’m working with: TABLE 1: “Original Release Date” (formula field calculating from multiple Date fields in Table 1). TABLE 2: “Deadline Date Add” (currently manual number field, but I’ve tried it as a text string with '- and ‘days’ incorporated to the field as well) TABLE 3: “Master Due Date” I need a formula to subtract the “Deadline Date Add” number from the “Original Release Date” and populate a new date in “Master Due Date.” So if “Original Release Date” = 10/12/20, and “Deadline DateAdd” = 10, then I want “Master Due Date” to return 10/2/20 Currently I’m referencing all fields from Table 3 (Table 3 looking up “Original Release Date” from Table 1, and “Deadline Date Add” from Table 2. All date fields are date only, and don’t incorporate time of day/zones. Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I’m having trouble understanding why this isn’t working. Essentially what I’m trying to do is find out how many authors were published each calendar year and each fiscal year. There are multiple issues published each year and each fiscal year, and sometimes they don’t line up. Each issue links to a record for the year and FY, like so: (this is my issues table) I have a second table for the year and fiscal year records: stats by year & fy. What I’m trying to do is a rollup that will count how many author records are connected to each year and FY. There are some authors that will occur over multiple magazine issues, so those duplicates need to be weeded out from the total number of unique authors for each year/FY. As a general expression of what i wish to achieve; i want to make a view, that shows items:: are over 28 days or more beyond creation without being completed. that don’t have a specific due date that has passed (If it has passed due date then report as normal from created date). Hi all, I’m trying to make it easier for my teammates to create records, and would love it if I could format the text in a formula field so that its items separated by a comma are displayed in vertical list format. This is the formula I’m using right now, trimmed so no one has to wade through ALL the categories and tags: IF(Category=“Community”,“Art & Music, Books & Literacy, Children & Youth, Community Development, Education, Guns & #NeverAgain, Inclusive Language”) I’d like everything within the second set of quotation marks to display in list format. Is this possible?

Hello! I’ve been using Airtable for a couple years. I don’t know much about formulas, but I can usually figure out what’s going on. In one table, I have this formula to calculate ages: DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(), Birthdate, ‘years’). Up until today, it’s worked perfectly. However, for some reason, now it’s giving me an error message. I have a different table with the same formula - it’s also giving me a brand new error message. I’ve tried switching the order DATETIME_DIFF(Birthday, TODAY(), ‘years’), and that works fine too (the age is just a negative number, not ideal). The kicker is, if I change the unit to ‘weeks’ it works no problem - I just don’t have a use for knowing ages in weeks. Any ideas?

I’ve searched and found somewhat similar solutions, but none (that I’ve found) seem to hit the head of the nail for what I am seeking to accomplish. I have a Budget table with records representing each month. One of the fields is “Projected Income”. For each cell in that field, I am seeking to show the corresponding month’s Projected Income from another Table called “Projected Income”. In the Projected Income Table, I have configured it so I have records representing the month, and currency fields representing the client monthly payment. (I have also configured it so I have records representing the client & fields representing the month - I’ll remove the records/fields I don’t need.) So, I am looking to insert the totals of the projected client payments for each specific month into the Budget table’s record cell for that month in the “projected Income” field. Hi, I’m hoping there is a way to do this that’s just a bit above my creative thinking right now. The setup is this: I have a table of projects, with a linked field to records of individual yarns I have used in the project. I need to record the quantity I used of each of the yarns. These quantities will then feed through into a formula in my yarn records which picks up the quantity used in projects and recalculates the remaining available quantity. I’ve got this working for single-yarn projects, but I can’t see how to have multiple values associated with specific linked records. So for example if Project 1 has links to Yarn A and Yarn B records, I want to say that I used 100g of Yarn A and 50g of Yarn B. I then need to be able to lookup only the quantities used in projects of each specific yarn, in order to sum that and use the figure to calculate remaining quantity. Hi there, I have a communications calendar that I’m trying to have automate some email sends through the Gmail automation. I have my emails on that table as a lookup field, but the automation isn’t recognizing it as an email address so it’s failing the test. Hi, I’m a bit new to this and not sure if it’s even possible. I have a table of ‘scores’ with multiple ‘players’. Each player has a score, up to 30 scores each. In another table I have a rollup which displays all the players scores. What I’m trying to do is find the 5 best scores for each player, add as a total, then divide by 5 to give an average score for each player. This should then give a leaderboard of the best players based on their 5 best scores out of X scores. I’ve managed to do this manually in Notion by adding a checkbox formula which when I enter the player score, I look at their top scores and check/uncheck as required. This is fine and works but I’m now looking to make it more automated with Airtable. Is this dooable as a formula or better as a script on a front end with js? So with airtable it works like this ‘Overall Score’ = All Scores + Checkbox = Total Score Average Score = Total Score / 5 Thanks in advance.

We use Airtable as a back-end for many of our major systems. A big part of these systems is the use of scripting apps in order to streamline many of our processes. We have one system to track shipments. We get data in at the end of our day and someone will upload that data into one of our bases. From here, we run a series of scripts that scrubs and processes the shipping data since much of it can come in very raw. I was in the process of working on one of these script today when all the sudden I was thrown the error “You can only send 15 mutations every 1000ms”. Now, I haven’t made any changes to these scripts today and have never seen this error prior to today. The issue is that we process large amounts of data and while putting an ‘await’, which we don’t normally do, in front of an ‘updateRecordsAsync’ function will allow the script to work, it takes us from a process that used to take 5 minutes to one that takes ~30 and potentially ruins our entire decision to move this process into
