Hi, I work for a public television station and I’m creating a content database to store records of our productions, improve workflow and communication, etc. We have to submit descriptions for tv listings and the character limits have to fall in the range of 101-250 characters. I’m trying to create a formula that displays the number of characters and let’s the user know if the characters are below 101, between 101-250, or above 250. I find people need the visual warning since I can’t set a X amount of characters or character cut off. This is the best I can figure out so far, but it’s a little odd: LEN({Episodic Description}) & IF(LEN({Episodic Description})>250, " ❌ Too Long", " ✅ Good") & IF(LEN({Episodic Description})<101, " ❌ Too Short", " ✅ Good") For example, if some is under the 250 limit the Good pops up. If there isn’t a better formula I can definitely change the tag from " :white_check_mark: Good" to “Over 101” & “Under 250”. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Community, I have a table ORDER of n orders with the {fields} : order-id, product, quantity, delivery-date Airtable SHOP - Airtable Explore the "SHOP" base on Airtable. I am trying to use a script to group_by (product, delivery-date) in order to sum the field {quantity} of a group (total-quantity) Then: with Automation, create a record in a table GROUP-ORDER with the fields: order-group-id, delivery-date, product, total-quantity Example on how the results should look like, is shared in the link above. I’m a little knew to the Scripting App (and my skills in javascript are medium). Is this approach feasible? and how should I get started? Hi all, I have been searching for this answer and haven’t came up with anything that is clear enough thus guides me in writing this formula. Let me try to set it up… I have a multi-select column (call it column A), which is a list of months. I have another column (call it column B) that uses a datetime_format formula to show the current month. I want to write a formula in a third column that returns a value (nothing specific, whether it is yes/no, a number, etc.) if the current month (column B) is selected in column A. Is this possible?

Hi there, I am using a look up field in a formula (on another field). The formula is just CONCATENATING the look up field, but I receive an #ERROR! when I try this. Is there a way around this. Cheers! Sam

I am calculating ROI, with many of my records containing no initial investment, which left the result of {profit/paid} as infinity on those lines. I want to easily calculate my average ROI, so I can’t have the infinity records. Initially, I thought I could add to the formula IF({profit/paid}=“infinity”,""), but that formula failed, so I ended up with the above. The problem is, because of that formatting, I now cannot format the formula to show results as a %. Any ideas?

Hi There. I’d appreciate getting my Emailed Prefilled Airtable Forms Link to sync up with my AirTable Data. I have 4 Fields being prefilled into an Airtable Form. First Name Last Name Email Address Mobile Phone # I wrote a formula (with the help of the amazing Airtable Community) to pre-populate filled fields into an Airtable form. The link for the form with the pre-populated section works perfectly in my AirTable Base. The problem arises when I use Airtable Automation to email the link. Hello! I’m an Airtable novice. I’m building a membership database for a therapy dog nonprofit. We send dogs (with their human handlers) to visit with people in hospitals, jails, nursing homes, etc. I’ve created a dogs table and a humans table. I’ve linked the dogs and their humans. How do I assign attributes to a team (consisting of a specific dog and a specific handler)? For example, we evaluate a dog-handler pair, or team, to make sure we can send them out safely. I’d like to record the date on which this team completed their evaluation. Thank you!

Hey good afternoon, I wanted to create a view that gives me all the records from the Current Month and Current Day in history. So today being October 28, 2020, I want to be able to dynamically pull all the previous years for October 28th. I am sure I could add a month field and a day field and manually change them everyday as a filter in my view but wasn’t sure if there was anyway to dynamically pull the current date to get the historical values for the current date. Hi Everyone My question is can you use Page Designer to design different page layouts for Use within the same base? Eg. I want to issue invoices direct from AirTable. I have sorted that ok and everything is going well so far. Is there a way I can use Page Designer to be able to use the same table as I use for my invoice design to print Say a list of clients overdue invoices or something similar while using the same set of data that my invoices page design is based on?

Hi I am trying to iterate between pages of results from Airtable in Integromat. I tried to do this with Search Records but couldn’t work out a way to back and iterate through any bundles above 100 (it was reporting the first 100 bundles, being the default page size in Airtable). So I’m using a custom API call and can pull the first 100 records, with an offset. I can then pass the offset in a second query and get more records. However, I can’t work out a way to repeat the process programatically based on the total number of bundles - I don’t want to include an arbitrary number of calls as that isn’t flexible if the records exceed the number of calls, and in any case using multiple calls (rather than say one call with a repeater) seems tricky. Hi, I am trying to clean some of my data but I’m not sure which formula to use. I have three columns (URL, Date, Data). I need to extract the strings from the data column, the date and the URL (which are always different). In the Date column, I have LEFT(Data,10) which returns the date perfectly. In my URL column, I have MID(Data,11,256) which returns the URL. I’ve set up a count of 256 characters to be sure I get all of it but I’m sure there is a more elegant way to do it. Now the main problem is that sometimes I get 2 identical URL in the data column but I only need one of them. So how can I be sure to always get the first URL and discard the second one if I get a duplicate one. Many thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I have a table with only 2 views. One is “Master” and is a personal view, and the other one is just a duplicate of “Master”, but with hidden columns, and it’s a locked view. The idea was: Managers use the “Master” personal view, with all the information exposed, and our contractors use the duplicated locked view, with hidden columns (naturally they have a different login). Since they can’t unhide the columns, we thought this would prevent them from seeing sensible information. However, when contractors duplicate the “Duplicate” view (as a personal view, or collaborative view), they are able to unhide the columns and see the sensible information. Is this the expected behaviour? If so, what’s the best way to prevent contractors from accessing sensible information? Thanks!

Hi Airtable script gurus! I need help. I am working off of a code that searches for key words and returns results. The code works when var “districtRecord” is an input. However, I need to run the code on 10k+ records, so using the input would take forever selecting one at a time. IF({amount of discount}=0," ",IF({amount of discount}<0,{amount of discount})) I got this to do what I want - only show a value on a sales receipt if the value is <0 The problem is that the answer is considered a string answer and I cannot format it to display as currency. All fields leading into this formula are numbers (formatted currency) I want the results to be displayed as currency. Suggestions?

Hi there, Hoping someone out there can help me with a weird automation issue. First, some context: I have 2 tables in my base. Table #1 is the order table - This is used for tracking individual orders (every line order is quantity 1), and the record name is the serial number of the item. Table #2 is the shipping table - These records are named as followed (rolled up from the records in Table #1): “{Customer Name} + {Site} + {Ship Date}” So essentially, whether there is 1 order or 20 orders from Table #1 going to a particular customer site on a particular date, I want them all rolled up into a single record in Table #2. This works perfectly fine manually: I have a column “Shipping Table Name” in Table #1 that follows the same naming convention for the record name in Table #2 ("{Customer Name} + {Site} + {Ship Date}") and I can just copy and paste that into the “Link To Table #2” column. I only need that when the value of a cell is equal to a number a specific name appears. Hi. I’m trying to use DATETIME_Format() inside of a formula field to display the day in which an order was placed. These are the dates of the orders. For reference, the 18th took place on a Sunday. The formula block is a very simple DATE_FORMAT() function, showing the day. However, it seems as if the date format is incorrect and is defaulting to GMT time (adding 4 hours to the time fields, causing the time to roll over to the next day). I don’t know how to fix this, and I can’t change it because under formatting it says: Can someone please help?! Thanks

Hi, I have a synced table. In the destination base/table I have created additionally a single select field => this should represent the status of the record. Target: Change the created single choise, based on the condition that one of the synced fields has some specific text inside. => And this for each record. I set up an automation: Trigger: When a record matches conditions –> when “Synced_Field_in_Table” contains “xyz” Actions: Update Record –> RecordID => Record ID from step 1:Trigger Fields: “SingleChoiceField” Record(Step 1:Trigger)…Synced_Field_in_Table => Tests run successful & it did do it => But only for this one field. Whereas I wanted it to do it for all records matching that conditions (& there are quite few more). Is there a “loop” that can be triggered or something else I am missing.
