Hello! I’m an Airtable novice. I’m building a membership database for a therapy dog nonprofit. We send dogs (with their human handlers) to visit with people in hospitals, jails, nursing homes, etc. I’ve created a dogs table and a humans table. I’ve linked the dogs and their humans. How do I assign attributes to a team (consisting of a specific dog and a specific handler)? For example, we evaluate a dog-handler pair, or team, to make sure we can send them out safely. I’d like to record the date on which this team completed their evaluation. Thank you!

Hey good afternoon, I wanted to create a view that gives me all the records from the Current Month and Current Day in history. So today being October 28, 2020, I want to be able to dynamically pull all the previous years for October 28th. I am sure I could add a month field and a day field and manually change them everyday as a filter in my view but wasn’t sure if there was anyway to dynamically pull the current date to get the historical values for the current date. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Hi Everyone My question is can you use Page Designer to design different page layouts for Use within the same base? Eg. I want to issue invoices direct from AirTable. I have sorted that ok and everything is going well so far. Is there a way I can use Page Designer to be able to use the same table as I use for my invoice design to print Say a list of clients overdue invoices or something similar while using the same set of data that my invoices page design is based on?

Hi I am trying to iterate between pages of results from Airtable in Integromat. I tried to do this with Search Records but couldn’t work out a way to back and iterate through any bundles above 100 (it was reporting the first 100 bundles, being the default page size in Airtable). So I’m using a custom API call and can pull the first 100 records, with an offset. I can then pass the offset in a second query and get more records. However, I can’t work out a way to repeat the process programatically based on the total number of bundles - I don’t want to include an arbitrary number of calls as that isn’t flexible if the records exceed the number of calls, and in any case using multiple calls (rather than say one call with a repeater) seems tricky. Hi, I am trying to clean some of my data but I’m not sure which formula to use. I have three columns (URL, Date, Data). I need to extract the strings from the data column, the date and the URL (which are always different). In the Date column, I have LEFT(Data,10) which returns the date perfectly. In my URL column, I have MID(Data,11,256) which returns the URL. I’ve set up a count of 256 characters to be sure I get all of it but I’m sure there is a more elegant way to do it. Now the main problem is that sometimes I get 2 identical URL in the data column but I only need one of them. So how can I be sure to always get the first URL and discard the second one if I get a duplicate one. Many thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I have a table with only 2 views. One is “Master” and is a personal view, and the other one is just a duplicate of “Master”, but with hidden columns, and it’s a locked view. The idea was: Managers use the “Master” personal view, with all the information exposed, and our contractors use the duplicated locked view, with hidden columns (naturally they have a different login). Since they can’t unhide the columns, we thought this would prevent them from seeing sensible information. However, when contractors duplicate the “Duplicate” view (as a personal view, or collaborative view), they are able to unhide the columns and see the sensible information. Is this the expected behaviour? If so, what’s the best way to prevent contractors from accessing sensible information? Thanks!

Hi Airtable script gurus! I need help. I am working off of a code that searches for key words and returns results. The code works when var “districtRecord” is an input. However, I need to run the code on 10k+ records, so using the input would take forever selecting one at a time. I attempted to update the code to run through all the records in the table, and broke it. I keep getting an error saying there is a missing “)” on line 1. IF({amount of discount}=0," ",IF({amount of discount}<0,{amount of discount})) I got this to do what I want - only show a value on a sales receipt if the value is <0 The problem is that the answer is considered a string answer and I cannot format it to display as currency. All fields leading into this formula are numbers (formatted currency) I want the results to be displayed as currency. Suggestions?

Hi there, Hoping someone out there can help me with a weird automation issue. First, some context: I have 2 tables in my base. Table #1 is the order table - This is used for tracking individual orders (every line order is quantity 1), and the record name is the serial number of the item. Table #2 is the shipping table - These records are named as followed (rolled up from the records in Table #1): “{Customer Name} + {Site} + {Ship Date}” So essentially, whether there is 1 order or 20 orders from Table #1 going to a particular customer site on a particular date, I want them all rolled up into a single record in Table #2. This works perfectly fine manually: I have a column “Shipping Table Name” in Table #1 that follows the same naming convention for the record name in Table #2 ("{Customer Name} + {Site} + {Ship Date}") and I can just copy and paste that into the “Link To Table #2” column. Hello, I’m new writting formulas, I’ve read all the guides on airtable’s website and other posts in the forum. However I can’t get my formula to work. I only need that when the value of a cell is equal to a number a specific name appears. This is what I’ve wrote; IF (Total = “6.99”, Hernia discal, BLANK()) But airtable won’t let me keep the formula because it’s misspelled. Any advises? Thanks.

Hi. I’m trying to use DATETIME_Format() inside of a formula field to display the day in which an order was placed. These are the dates of the orders. For reference, the 18th took place on a Sunday. The formula block is a very simple DATE_FORMAT() function, showing the day. However, it seems as if the date format is incorrect and is defaulting to GMT time (adding 4 hours to the time fields, causing the time to roll over to the next day). I don’t know how to fix this, and I can’t change it because under formatting it says: Can someone please help?! Thanks

Hi, I have a synced table. In the destination base/table I have created additionally a single select field => this should represent the status of the record. Target: Change the created single choise, based on the condition that one of the synced fields has some specific text inside. => And this for each record. I set up an automation: Trigger: When a record matches conditions –> when “Synced_Field_in_Table” contains “xyz” Actions: Update Record –> RecordID => Record ID from step 1:Trigger Fields: “SingleChoiceField” Record(Step 1:Trigger)…Synced_Field_in_Table => Tests run successful & it did do it => But only for this one field. Whereas I wanted it to do it for all records matching that conditions (& there are quite few more). Is there a “loop” that can be triggered or something else I am missing. I am embedding a view on my website - one of the fields is a button with a script that adds a record in another table to log the button press timing and some metadata. However, as soon as I embed the table/view, the button field seems to be disabled on the embedded website, and can’t be clicked (screencap below) :thinking: Any ideas/advice on this would be greatly appreciated :pray:

I thought for sure I saw Airtable just added the new feature that we could finally link between bases - but now I can’t find it anywhere. Hi Guys, Having trouble finding out how to write a formula to check if one field contains another field’s data. The specific use case is data being pulled from an ecommerce site. Each order comes from a page dedicated to a suburb/postcode. Each order populates a record with this suburb/postcode in one field as well as the delivery address in another field. I am trying to create a formula that will check if the delivery address contains the same postcode in the other field (and if so label it “true”). Any help would be much appreciated! First - I am pretty new to writing formulas. I know enough to get myself into trouble. :slightly_smiling_face: Here’s my problem … I have a table which is a listing of tasks that are assigned and have associated dated. The fields in this table includes: Date field that includes the time field (Start Time) I created an automation that would send an email when a particular person is added to a record (assigned a task). This email includes in the body of the email, the name of the task and the date and time that this task is scheduled to begin by inserting data from the Start Time field. The resulting email looked ok except that the data from the Start Time field was ugly (for lack of a proper technical term). Hi there, I’m attempting to integrate my airtable database api into a React project. I installed airtable using ‘npm install airtable’. I also followed all the directions on airtable.com/api to configure my api/base and create a function to list the records. However, when my app attempts to run that function, I get the error “Failed to execute ‘fetch’ on ‘Window’: Illegal invocation.” When I click on the error in dev tools, its source appears to be in the airtable base file–which I don’t have access to as it’s part of the npm package. I did see this topic mentioned in another post, and tried what was recommended there, however, it did not solve my issue. Has anyone else run into this issue and found a work around?

Yes I’m new. I have created a base with a table of all sales transactions, one item per line. So for example, an order with 4 different items would have 4 records, each with SKU, quantity, price paid, order date, etc. In the grid view, I’ve got a filter set up to specify an order date range, and I created a group by SKU so that we can see the total sales for each item. I want employees to be able to view the file, set a date range, and print it if necessary. However the filter is not available in the view share, and all roads seem to lead to being at least a full base collaborator to be able to set the date range. That’s too much, um, power. Am I missing something about sharing, or is there a better way to specify the date range?

Creating a table that will be split into different views for different online marketplaces, as they each require different fields. The Status field at Abebooks corresponds to the Update Delete field at Amazon, though, so I’m making the Update Delete a formula field that converts the language like this: ‘’'SWITCH( {STATUS}, “For Sale”, " ", “On Hold”, “Delete”, “Sold”, “Delete” ) My question is how can I add a statement that will look at the last modified time field I’ve named Updated and return the value “Update” only if that Updated field has today’s date? So that I can get only the updated today records into their own view to be downloaded as a CSV files I can use for the online marketplaces? I feel like this is a thorny one, but this community has surprised me on multiple occasions so maybe I’m just too much of a newb to recognize real Airtable thorniness.
