Hi Airtable community,I’m trying to set up an automation and could use your help.Here’s the scenario: Whenever a new record is created for a specific name (NAME 1) and a new name (NAME 2) (see screenshot for reference), I’d like the automation to trigger a notification to the specific people who have modified the  previous data in the past.  

I’m setting up a base that is hopefully going to help me organize my finances with my boyfriend. We have a joint bank account, and I need to be able to show how much money is going in and going out. It seems like he is not leaving enough money to pay for his bills. So, I’m wondering if I can calculate who owes what in the account. Like … I import the CSV of the bank account, then create a table for people (which would be just two), then add up the balances of all the expenses that are the responsibility of that person … What about stuff that is both our responsibility … would I create another person and then divide that into two … I’m so confused. :crazy_face: :frowning_with_open_mouth:

Hello!I have a question regarding the batch_upsert method in the pyairtable library.Does batch_upsert update records even if the incoming data is identical to what's already stored in Airtable? Specifically, will the “Last Modified Time” column be updated in such cases?Example usage (python):table.batch_upsert(records=batch, key_fields=key_fields, typecast=True) From my testing, it seems like some records are not showing an updated timestamp, even though they were included in the batch. I'd like to confirm if this is expected behavior.Thanks in advance!

My primary field is an employee’s full name in this format: Last, First. The catch is that some employees have a middle initial or a middle name, so it looks like this: Last, First Middle.I want to create two separate columns that separately extract the last name and the first name. I want the separate first name column to include the middle name/initial (if they have one).I’ve been able to create the last name field with this formula: LEFT({Person Name}, (FIND(",", {Person Name}, 1)-1))However, when I use that same formula for the first name field except with the RIGHT function it doesn’t pull out the first name correctly for everyone. RIGHT({Person Name}, (FIND(",", {Person Name}, 1)-1))Any ideas?Solved it: SUBSTITUTE( {Person Name}, LEFT( {Person Name}, FIND( ",", {Person Name} ) + 1 ), "" )

Hi everyone 👋I’m building matchmaking system using Airtable + Make, and I’m stuck on the neighborhood matchingHere’s my setup: Properties table{Address} field (e.g. Monterrey Street, Roma Norte, Cuauhtémoc) {Neighborhood} (single select → “Roma Norte”,Clients table {Preferred Neighborhoods} (multi-select or linked) – clients can choose multiple neighborhoods they are interested in. In Make.com, I also created a variable neighborhoods_string that looks like this (from {Preferred Neighborhoods} [] array) : Parres El Guarda|Isidro Fabela|San Pedro Mártir|Miguel Hidalgo 3ª Sección|San Andrés Totoltepec|Tlalpan Centro|Tlalcoligia|San Nicolás Totolapan|Héroes de Padierna|Jardines del Pedregal|Roma Norte What I want to achieve: Check if the property’s {Neighborhood} (or extracted from {Address}) exists in the client’s {Preferred Neighborhoods} [] or neighborhoods_string  list. Can anyone help me? that would mean a lot to me..I thought this was just an easy “contains” formula.

I can’t believe I couldn’t find an entry about this in this forum yet. Hmm ok, here’s my problem:  Every time I open Interfaces it goes straight into the editor and I have to click launch to use it. For me (main administrator and builder) it is annoying but works. Now my user back from holiday wanted to access and couldn’t. It gives a message that says to click on launch or ask the owner. No launch button though. I opened the interface on my side, had to click launch again did so and she could get in. This obviously is quite an annoying and NOT acceptable behavior. I have no idea where and how to change this behavior?Please help  

We are a small manufacturing company, and have moved most of our inventory into Airtable for our current build and possibly will continue to use for future buildsIs there a script I can use to stop duplicates from happening within a table? Is there a way to move about parts from one ”location” (which is already a table in the base) to another without physically having to continuously go into the data base?  continue question from above - is there a way to have 1 part but with multiple locations? We have parts that are stored in multiple staes (eg: flat parts and then folded parts but both are the same part) what is the best way to show this other than having multiple part numbers or prefixes for the same part.Hope that all makes sense…..

I am building a base for our clients. Goal is to have them access their data through a portal. They will want to print professionally formatted reports with our company logo and page breaks. Are the print options in portals the same as interfaces? If so,  this will not fit our needs. Would you suggest we use a 3rd party such as Documint?

Hi there, I have IFTTT applet that creates a new Airtable record when a Google calendar event begins. The description for the event comes in as HTML. I’ve been looking for a script that could convert the HTML to rich text so that it is more human readable in the base. I know about the Marked Preview app, but I don’t think that’ll be the best solution, since I will be embedding this base and I currently cannot embed apps. Any help is greatly appreciated.

So I have a few tables I am trying to figure out the best way to join them in order to create an interface that will display data from multiple tables. For example. I have a table Fund (which has contact information), a table budget (which has budget information for each of the funds.  There is a line item in budget that has each years fund budget. The common thread is there is a dept number for the fund in the fund table and a corresponding dept number in the budgets table.  I am trying to figure out the best way to report on each fund and their budget.  Particularly, their current budget (there is a field in the budget for each budget year), so in a nutshell, I want to see all the information from the fund table and the corresponding current budget for that fund from the budgets table.Its so simple to do this in excel or access but I cannot figure out how to link two tables to display the information in airtable.Any helps is appreciated.  

We have an event that is in multiple different locations. We have a form where they select which location they want to attend. I want to automatically send them the calendar invite when they fill out the form based on their response. Ex: We have an event on Monday in New York, Tuesday in Boston, and Wednesday in Chicago. If they select Wednesday in Chicago they will receive the outlook calendar invite for that specific event.

I created a form in Airtable and it gave me this html code: I embedded the code in my web site page here and it does work: https://captaintime.com/joint-venture-webinars/ However, it gives it a black background instead of the usual green on my site. I tried changing the background transparent to the hex color number and this didn’t work. Nor did changing backgroundColor=yellow to green. Not that yellow was showing anywhere anyway. Thanks,

So while updating my table coffee shops, I accidentally removed trading hours from MANY shops.I easily fixed this with Ctrl+Z, but now even though the data looks correct, the data is not being pulled from airtable to my website. If I duplicate the entry, same issue. But if I remake the entry EXACTLY the same, then it works. How can I resolve this? The issue is that airtable is showing me data that looks correct, but is syncing incorrect data.

Hello, We are having problem with Attachment Field.We use mobile devices to upload photos on airtable, but the photos are not getting uploaded...Anybody having same issue?From my observation, the Airtable mobile apps is not working.I tired with multilple devices, Galaxy S devices, Iphone, Ipad...Logged out and re-logged in, but its not working at all.

Is there a way to extract a users email address from their account info?Context...I have a form built in "interfaces" and have toggled on "see who submitted response".Ideally I'm trying to extract the domains for the users as a method to sort with different views.Ex. forms submitted by "domainA.com"forms submitted by "domainB.com"

Dear Airtable Community,I would like to know how to transfer a base in my personal Airtable account to a base in another account i.e. a start up’s account.They haven't yet set up the company account in Airtable but will do once we know how this can be achieved smoothly. Also to be considered are that the base in my personal Airtable Account,  has automations native to Airtable, connection to Fillout and automations in Make that are triggered by a Webhook via a script in my Airtable automations. Is there a way to move this ‘lock stock and barrel’, out of my account and into that of the start up?Thank you in advance for your support.Best RegardsLadi 

I am from a company selling STEM supplies to schools. I have three tables:A “Material List” table with a list of materials we have in inventory An “Activity List” table with a list of our STEM activities. Each activity has a linked record field which is populated with linked records in the “Material List” table   An “Activity Material” junction table with the quantities of each material for each activity listed.  Desired Outcome of the Script:I’ve written a script that is intended to: Retrieve an activity record from the "Activity List" table using a passed record ID, whenever the list of linked Material records is changed. Get the linked materials for that activity. Compare the linked materials with existing records in the "Activity Materials" table. Delete outdated records of materials no longer linked to the activity. Create new records for materials that are newly linked to the activity, including setting the Activity and Material fields with appropriate record references

I would like to monitor when anyone changes certain field configurations (e.g. changes the field type, or edits a drop-down selection or similar) so that downstream dependencies can be adjusted or the change can be rolled back. The field manager seems helpful but doesn't seem to be proactive enough for this purpose.

I have a schema, which I would like to implement for 3 similar businesses.  Is it possible to have the same base template, and have the schema synchronised between ALL 3 bases?  That is, if for example I add a new table, it is also added on the other bases. Same for fields.I would like to segregate the data, and also they do not need to share the data, hence it doesnt make sense to hit the 125k record for Business for example when they are not related data, just related schema.

I have a list of addresses and I already represented them through Map block using google Map API on the map. The queseion is how to get the coresponding geocode (latitude and longitude) for each address. eventhough I noteced that Map Block created text code for each address called Geocode cache is that may help or converted to coordinates. “Geocode cache This block stores additional information for each address. Create a new text field in your table and pick it below. Other map blocks can use the same field.” Thank you so much for your help in advance.

Okay guys, ive seen a similar post about this but didn’t answer what i was looking for. I am wanting to take a url (google.com) and add it to a “open URL” button then another record have another url (youtube.com) and add it to another “Open URL” button.
