I don’t want to be overly negative as I love Airtable, as do my clients. But can Airtable slow down in integrating new features without proper testing. In the past couple of weeks since developers integrated Interface/data layout into one in the home view, there have been so many bugs in the system. I am all for new integrating and love the direction the company is going. However, don’t be premature about it. Every time I am using Airtable now there are new bugs and I don’t have time to send Airtable developers feedback and examples... It’s hard to keep up (more a clients perspective) with new features, new layouts and new bugs. To the developers, just make sure your ready before publishing new layouts and features please 🙏
Please excuse the long explanation..I have a spreadsheet showing some factories producing a number of products. For the sake of the example, let’s assume that the factories are the primary records and the products that they produce need to be split out in to a linked table.So the source spreadsheet looks like this:Factory City Country Product Acme Tools Denver USA Spanners Acme Tools Denver USA Screwdrivers Western Hardware Paris France Spanners China Supply Shanghai China Hammers China Supply Shanghai China Screwdrivers I can create and import this spreadsheet in as a new table called Factory.But I don’t want duplicates in the Factory table. Anyone know if/how to change the default behavior of clicking Interfaces when in Data Mode. It defaults to design mode so I need to click Interfaces and then click Open. I could have sworn it took me straight to interfaces prior to the most recent UI changes.
I am looking for a way to change the way that my shared Airtable base can be shown as the preview when sharing the url, instead of the generic “Airtable, everyones app platform” being shown. I frequently share the base, and people aren’t opening the base, or are wary to because they dont know what Airtable is. Please tell me there is a way to have a different preview shown? Do I need to first embed it in my website? I am open to paying, or outsourcing but I am just not sure how to start! Hey Airtable Community,I’m new to Airtable and trying to set up an automation to send an email when a task is marked complete, but it’s not working. The automation seems to start, but no emails go out. I need help figuring this out!Details:Using Airtable Team plan on Chrome (Mac). I have a “Tasks” table with columns: “Task Name” (text), “Due Date” (date), and “Done” (checkbox). Automation goal: Send an email to my team (e.g., me@example.com) when “Done” is checked. Automation setup: Trigger: When “Done” checkbox is checked in Tasks. Action: Send email with task name and due date. Problem: Automation runs (logs say “triggered”), but no email is sent. No error messages. Steps I tried: Checked my email address is correct. Tested with a different email—still no email. Made sure the task has “Done” checked. Looked at Airtable’s automation help page but got stuck. Questions:Why aren’t my emails sending? Is there something I need to set up in Airtable to make emails work? Any simple tips

I tried posting this question previously but I don't see it posted, so apologies if it appears twice.I have a simple database with two tables, each of which has a few fields.I want to create an interface that shows different list views of one table based on different filter criteria chosen through tabs.I created an interface with eight tabs on one page and was able to configure the filter criteria for each tab. It works fine in the edit mode.When I preview or publish it, only five of the tabs are visible. I thought that it might be there's a limit on the number of tabs on any page, or the length of their names, however when I tried rearranging or renaming the tabs to shorten names the behavior was the same. Only the five originally visible tabs appear, whatever I name them and in whatever order I arrange them. The other three tabs are never visible.I then tried copying the page to another page in the same interface, so that I could experiment further without deleting my original work a

Hey folks, I’m trying to figure something out.I’ve got an old CSV doc that I’ve integrated. Unfortunately, it’s a mess and I’m only a “enough to get by” kind of Airtable coder. I’m a bit stumped.So, I’m trying to make a formula that combines multiple cells to make a condensed long text field for mailing addresses (if possible). Unfortunately, many of these individual cells are empty and there are 562 lines of them. There’s no good rhyme or reason as to what is empty, either. Sometimes it’s address 1 and address 2, sometimes there’s a city and state and nothing else, sometimes all of the information is filled out, so making a straight hierarchal system like I’m more used to seeing doesn’t really work.Example:IF(address 1, <all the info>, (IF(address 2, <address 2 down>, (IF(address 3, <address 3 down>,)))Here’s my best effort at what I want to do:Any advice? API for searching in multiple basesHi community, My company developed an API to search multiple databases, we used Airtable for a talent pipeline for the company's recruiting team, and we found ourselves with the limit of 50,000 records (teams plan).Instead of upgrading the plan, we developed this solution. We divide our base by years and create several bases. And with this new program, we can search through all the databases quickly and effectively.I share screenshot In the API, you can search multiple fields (in the example, we search through name and Linkedin link), and then, it shows in which base the API found the specific record (Of course, you can choose which fields you want to display.)What do you think if we commercialize the API? How can I search for a user in all airtable databases?
I'm astounded that Airtable doesn't support global search by default. Currently, I can find text within one base table only, not in all tables within a base, let alone all Airtable bases. I've seen that the Marketplace has a Search extension, which is absurd, paying $24/month to have the privilege to search your data within a database app. It's like charging an additional fee for including a steering wheel with a car. This question was asked by a user in September 2020: How can I search globally in all bases? ( Major Drawback ) NOT RESOLVED PLEASE OPEN THIS AGAIN. The query was marked as Solved and closed even though the OP clearly stated in the Subject heading "Not resolved," and wrote in the text body: "No the existing search app doesnt work. See the image below. it only search in the records in current base not globally." Nobody paying attention. Sad how 3 years have passed with zero progress on this matter.
Hello everyone! For export and invoice purposes, I think it would be nice to be able to inherit the filter from an interface to a detail page or at least within the detail page to the buttons (for exporting).Right now when Month Link is set on a specific month, the visible list is changed but the button in the same frame ignores it! Would be so great if it would recognise a filter or the dropdown elements!Does someone has a workaround? I want to make it as easy as possible for the back-office to export a month of choice. In one of my first projects, I have a table with a multiselect field "names".Can I add a new column with some formula that shows the name that was last added or removed in the "names"-field ? (with automatic update for every change in that names-field)
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can print the interface view? when I click to print the view has the wrong margins. I already tried to save the page in pdf but without success.
Something as simple as retrieving data from previous record and then mathematically operating this field (even within boundaries of cell) seems to take hours. If finding information or operating this platform is so difficult then whats the value.
We have created a Provider Directory on our website, and we got feedback requesting a map to accompany the list. We have created a "Sandbox base" where we're trying out the AirTable Map extension, but I'm wondering if there's a way to display the map *next to* the table on our website (or above or below but specifically *with* the table).I see that it doesn't embed, but is there a way for a developer to do it if we hired someone? Any other suggestions if not?(I already tried the other map extension called MapChart and confirmed theirs won't display externally at all.)Thanks!Erin
Maybe i am ignorant here, but i suggest a feature: convert row into columns this means: what is on row 1 as a,b,c will overwrite the name of the columns d,f,g as a,b,c kind regards
I’ve been playing with Omni. I asked it to merge two multi-select columns. It created an AI field, which didn’t solve my needs. I asked it to undo and it could not. I can’t find one of the merge fields. I’m pretty sure I didn’t delete it. Which makes me think Omni is not super safe in terms of preventing data loss.Maybe I am imagining things. Has anyone else accidentally blown away data while using?Thanks!
In the airtable mobile app, I have gallery interface with dropdown filters.One of the filters is for assignments, which allows me to see tasks assigned to spesific users.However, when I check the assignment filter on the mobile app, I only see myself - other users dont appear. On the desktop version, it work correctly.Why is that?
