Perhaps I’m missing it, but how do I generate random numbers? I am missing “randbetween” and “rnd” from Excel. Thanks for any and all help.

I’m curious if there are any plans to add conditionally shown fields to Interfaces, similar to what is possible in form view? For example, if you’re tracking network outages you might use one field to specify that the cause is a power outage, in which case you would want other fields to appear that let you specify when the power outage started and ended (so you can track UPS runtime when the power goes out, and site recovery time when it comes back.)

Hi - just getting into Airtable. I’ve got a spreadsheet with book details that includes authors in a field. I have them in inverted commas ie “Last Name, First Name”. This is so that I can then take the field and link to another record to create a field in an Author table where the authors appear as a record with “Last Name, First Name” in the field. However, once the spreadsheet gets into Airtable (whether pasting or importing) the inverted commas have vanished from sight and so when I link to another record each author creates two records, one with “Last Name” and one with “First Name”. Is there any workaround for this? I’ve seen the help page about preparing text but that requires adding inverted commas around every author in every record after importing which will be a massive task. The only solution I’ve come up with so far is to have authors as “Last Name/First Name” or “Last Name-First Name” in the spreadsheet as then there is no comma delimiter problem in linking

Most 2FA systems allow you to enter a code manually so you don't have to scan the QR code but there is no option for that in AirTable. My camera on my phone is currently broken and so I have no way I can set up 2FA with AirTable with my authentication app.Is there a button I am missing somewhere next to the QR code to get the key manually?

Is there anyone who has a script to unzip an attachment field into another attachment field. In other words in Attachment field 1 is a zip file, have a script unzip and put all attachments as separate files in Attachment field 2. The zip file is coming in from Jotform through a zap in Zapier.

Hi there,I'm creating a weekly digest email that pulls all records created from the past week and displays as a Grid of Records in the email.When a preview is generated within Airtable, the formatting is clean and the text for each entry doesn't wrap within the cell.However, when the email is sent out, text within in each cell wraps, making each row taller than a single line and isn't a consistent height. Several of the fields are linked records.How can this be adjusted so the Grid Records in the email appear more like the preview in Airtable (consistent, 1-line row heights with no text wrapping), rather than how they are appearing in the email currently?Preview within Airtable:How Grid Records Appear in Email:

I’ve been trying to delete a published interface but can’t find where to delete it. I opened the interface and looked for a delete button but couldn’t find one. I exited the interface and went to my workspace to see all of the bases and interfaces I have, but I couldn’t find an option to delete it there. Thank you in advance.

There's this one table that is for recapping all of our clients' consultation sessions. After each client consultation sessions, that session will get added to this table as a separate entry, and be given a specific Consultation ID. Is there any way I can share an interface with a person that hasn't an Airtable account?I don't want to add them as collaborators, because they should see only that interface (not the base) and I don't want to ask them to create an Airtable account just to see my interface. My final goal is sharing the interface link with an automation through email. Is there any way? Thank you!

Hi! I use Airtable for tv title tracking and I'm trying to see if it's possible to update a field ("Distribution Rights") when a separate field ("Distrbution Rights Details") is selected. Example listed below:When "EXPECTED: All Media Worldwide" is selected in the "Distribution Rights Details" field, populate "Distribution Rights" field as "Global Expected"Is this automation possible? This one is puzzling me. I have an automation that watches for a field to be updated, which then updates another field on the same record. It mostly seems to work as I need it to. However, I keep getting errors that the automation has failed as it "does not exist". It will successfully be triggered, but unable to update itself.Indeed, these records don't seem to exist. I expect they are deleted. However, I can't get the automation to fire by deleting a record.What could possibly be happening to the record between being the trigger and the update step?I haven't been able to "catch" this failing in action, as it doesn't

I've created a pivot table in a dashboard interface and I'm trying to summarize cost for projects. Each record is a deliverable which has a corresponding "Brief" that it's tagged to. Each deliverable also has a cost associated with it. Both "Brief" and "Cost" fields are lookups from another table.The pivot table:Rows: BriefColumns: Deliverable TypeSummarize by: FieldField: CostSummary type: SumUnfortunately, the pivot table just shows up completely empty. I created the same pivot table as an extension and that worked perfectly. I can't seem to figure this one out.Also, the Cost field is set as "currency" in the lookup table, if that's important.

Hello!I am trying to create a formula that categorises ships by type, then size category, and if they meet both of those criteria they are assigned a value that is annual fuel consumption appropriate for the vessel's size category. It would be great if you could select or filter records by a pop up / embeddable calendar in interfaces.

Is there anyway to set up timeline or gnatt views to see more than 2 dates?Currently I have the "duration" of the record, but there is a repeated "event" that happens through the duration of the record (recorded in another table with a link to the first table). I'd like to be able to visualize when these events are occurring on the same timeline, is that possible?

I am setting up a new system for our company to track our projects and record how many days each designer has worked on a project and, equally, how many days a project has been worked on. The calendar view doesn't work for us, as date ranges don't work here. We also don't want to have to fill in time sheets anymore, we just want the table to calculate the number of times a record (project) appears in the design schedule. The rollup function isn't working here to add up each instance of a record.Can you help me figure out how to set this up so that the "Projects" table, and the "Design Schedule" table link to count up how many times a project appears across the 5 days. Ideally it would be great to figure out how to show how long each person has spent on each project but ultimately the goal is to work out how much time has been spent on each project total. I don't know much about functions and their language so I assume this is wh

I have an interface in a list form.  I added a button to the interface. I want the user to be able to select multiple records from the list and click on submit. However I see that the button is disabled and it does not detect the source. I tried adding a dummy record picker element at the top and I could then see the button. But my question is I should not have to add that dummy element because I just don't need it on my interface page. It just creates a lot of confusion for the user to see that dropdown. Is there a resolution for this? Do automations only run when there are record pickers in the interface? Because that is pretty weird according to me.
