I’ve spent weeks trying to understand how to properly manage linked record fields in my base, and I’m still stuck. No thanks to ChatGPT - total waste of time. I should have come here a lot earlier. Here’s what I’m struggling with:  I have one main Entities table that contains artists, labels, distributors, producers, etc. In other tables (like Songs and Releases), I need to link to Entities in multiple ways (for example: Artist, Featured Artist, Label, Distributor, Producer). Every time I create a separate link field for each role (e.g., “Artist Name,” “Label”), Airtable automatically creates a new reciprocal field in Entities, which results in multiple “Songs” or “Releases” columns there. This clutters the Entities table and makes it impossible to keep clean.  When I delete these extra reciprocal fields in Entities, it turns my original link fields in Songs or Releases into single line text, breaking everything. What I want to understand is:  How can I set this up so I can have di

Hello all, good morning! Just wonder if I could get some help please! I am trying to use both softr and airtable to build a forum. I like the sample forum that it provided but would like to give it a bit more personality. As per the photos attached, I have a table for users and a table for post. I am using the table of “posts” for my forum so it is not linked to the user table. The issues are:I cannot link the user table to this forum so I cannot add “avatar” field from user table to the forum. I cannot seems to add another attachment photo into that specific space next to the author’s name and post date...  

Hi guys, I’m a baby on this industry, Automation, AI, so on, but im about to learn from basic.As a first step, Im on the learning & studying by myself alone to use Zapier.But, Unfortunately, Airtable doesn’t allow me to access with login on macOS.(I tried a lot of method, changing Browsers safari, chrome, ARC and also accounts google, apple.Only mobile app accepting my ID, but it doesn’t seems that i can do something on that App)So i’m very discouraged to study automation because i’m stuck with this issue.I hope here is someone who know this issue and recommend a solution with referable links.Please find below captured screenshot.  *Below green bar doesn’t proceed anymore :(

Hi all,I’ve been facing a strange issue and I’d love to know if anyone else has experienced something similar — or if this could be a bug.We have two scripting extensions in our base: Delete XXX File Generate INBOUND XXX File Both are configured to only run when a user manually clicks the "Run" button. There are no automation triggers, no time-based triggers, and no webhook or external script that could be calling them.Despite this, these scripts executed themselves on two different days: June 12th, 2025 June 26th, 2025 Only one execution occurred each day. No user was interacting with the base at that time. These scripts do call a Google Apps Script via fetch(), but that Apps Script has no time triggers or onEdit triggers either — it only responds to manual activation via Airtable’s scripting extension.We checked: Activity logs: no evidence of user-initiated runs. Apps Script executions: no trigger before the Airtable script call. Other tools (Zapier, Make, etc.): not involved

I’ve tried many different ways to set up click to dial with ringcentral app, and it even worked the first time I set it up, but for some reason, its not working. I’ve tried creating formulas that others have suggested, buttons, etc… but no mater what I do, I always get this error in the address bar of the new tab that opens: about:blank#blockedIf I manually type tel:+16199309785 it dial no problem, excel the link i just typed even works but it won’t click to dial from the grid in airtable. I’ve tried chrome and edge, same thing. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to automatically assign people based on a list? Basically, when I change a status on a record, I want it to automatically assign 1 of 3 people from a list to that task (list is separate from base users) and if number 1 was just assigned, the next on the list is 2, then 3, then back to 1. Is there any way to automate this, or do you have to manually assign? 

I’m trying to make an extension that generates a file using base data and then re-uploads that file back to Airtable. However, I’m not able to find any way to access the upload attachment HTTP endpoint from within the Blocks SDK. The API reference only shows examples of “uploading” attachments using public URLs.Is there any way to access this functionality (properly) from within a blocks extension? Or alternatively some sort of internal PAT or similar I can use to make the POST request without hardcoding something that will be exposed in the browser?

Airtable has two nice features:In Interfaces you can launch a “Create Record Form” from an existing record and it will pre-populate the “parent” record value in the appropriate field. In Data Tables when using a Link field (to another table) you can specify a filter, to limit which records are displayed. However, these two features do not appear to be compatible 🙁 Worked Example:I have a Team Placement table, which links People records to Team records. I have an interface which lists the current Teams, from the record view I can launch the “Create Team Placement” form and the Team field is pre-populated. However, I want to have a filter on the table level to only allow “Active” Teams to be selectable. When I add this filter at the table field level and then re-launch the “Create Team Placement” form, this time the Team field is pre-populated with "Unnamed team” - even though the Team that should be pre-populated is “Active”. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I have a database of models and all their various measurements. Some key measurements are captured as a pseudo-range, meaning there are a pair of number fields to capture the low and high end of the range, as shown below:Height (1 number field) Bust, Bust+ (2 number fields)  Waist, Waist+ (2 number fields) Hip, Hip+ (2 number fields)(Note: not all models have a pair of measurements recorded) Now let’s say I want to search for models that fit specific parameters...If I’m just looking for a single measurement range (of which there is a min/max pair), then the filter looks something like this:  Simple enough.However this becomes a royal PITA to build a custom filter to search for a combination of dozen other measurement parameters (of which the measurements being searched also change. Hi, I’m new to using Airtable. I create a Gantt view when I set up dependencies between some  milestones. I noticed  that in my Gantt view when I have  milestone that is dependent on another milestone, even if I move the first milestone it does not affect the milestone that is dependent on it. however, when a milestone is dependent on a task that has a duration, the change is reflected.Milestone 2 depends on Milestone 1  After moving Milestone1 one day later , Milestone 2 remains due for the 25th. I expected it to move 1 day later    

Hi Any idea when Airtable will update its markdown syntax to accept inline images? I love to send emails with Airtable automation, but I can’t find a way to integrate my signature to emails !

Has anyone seen this message before when trying to sync and emailed CSV file into the base?“Unable to sync this source. A field in this table has too many select options, so no new select options can be synced”.How do i fix this? 

I am building an app that will use the Airtable API to export and format data from many tables within our base. I am pushing my code to a public GitHub repository.I am obviously treating the API key(s) as secrets and not pushing them to my repo, should I also treat the base’s ID value as a secrets value? Hello! I’ve had this issue for some time now but finally have the time to sit down and really figure it out. Except I can’t figure it out. Base 1 has Table 1, which is synced to both Base 2 and 3. Base 2 and 3 are not allowed to create new records, I have to go back to Base 1 to add records in. Syncing is enabled for both (see below). I need to be able to edit Table 1 from all 3 bases and have the changes show up for each base. Base 1 settings: Base 2 settings (same as Base 3): Message when I try to add records to Base 2:  I have a feeling I’m just not understanding some simple little thing about how AirTable’s synced tables work, advice anyone?

Having trouble with another automation. I’m trying to make an automation that will send an email to an assigned care worker, when one of their assigned clients (global worker) has not had a touchpoint in more than two weeks. I’ve mapped it to send an email to their email ID from the linked table, but it’s saying “Invalid email address in the "to" field: fldoiK6gc9Jd7MMgy”. Hey all, I’ve got another (hopefully) easy question for y’all.IF({Rental Fee}="", "", {Rental Fee} / {Open Duration})Here’s what I’ve got. Open Duration is another equation where I used DATETIME_DIFF to calculate the number of months (success!). Rental Fee is a currency field where I plug in the numbers. What I really want to do is see how much the rental fee came out to per month.Cool thing is that the IF field is working well enough, I only get #ERROR! on the fields where the equation is applicable. Not cool thing is the whole #ERROR! message bit. 😂 If rental fee is $10,000 and duration is 10, then why am I not getting $1,000?I can’t figure out what I’ve done wrong. Any thoughts? Greetings, I’m new to Airtable.I want to run a script to delete field columns that contain the word (SS)I get this error:“deleteFieldAsync available: no⚠️ Your current environment/role does not support deleting fields via script.Please run this in Extensions → Scripting with a Creator role, or delete the fields manually.”I am the Owner of the base.I am in extensions → Scripts and running this script from there.Why is it not allowing me to delete if I am an Owner and I am running the script from extensions?Thanks!

I’ve been trying to make formula to proper clean person name, but the result is weird. It’s like the LOWER() function dominates the whole result even though I put it in the middle… is this a bug?if I remove the LOWER() it only works if you dont meet with the all capital names (Like “JOHN DOE WHITE” would stay the same)I even tinker with internal AI and Copilot with the same results.I basically just want to make start with Capital, clean all unnecesarry whitespacesCan somebody help me?   

Hello, I am pulling in data via json API and need to know where to go from here?  I have a table (sales team) that has the "salesrep id" and I need to map in the ytd sales data for each salesrep id. I am not sure what to do next to loop through the json object data and map them accordingly.  

Hi there, I’ve got a bookkeeping base I created and added an Auto-categorization feature that’s giving me some trouble. Basically, there is a Transactions Table, a Categories table, a Merchants table and a Rules table. In the rules table, you add the match terms you want the automation to look for, and a linked field with the category you want it to be. The way the automations works is this: record is created in Transactions, triggers automation automation looks to see if any match terms in the Rules table match up with the text in the transaction name if there’s a match, automation runs a script to fill in the category and some other fields (like “merchant”, which is a combo of the Vendor name that comes filled in from the bank plus the transaction year, and “payment type” etc) for the transaction in questionI confess I’m not adept at scripting and enlisted the help of ChatGPT to work this out. The script seems to be working most of the time, but recently has started throwing an error

It seems that the number of lines that the view moves in a single "scroll-notch" from the mouse wheel is the same in any cell height.This feels very unnatural (scrolling the same distance is expected, not the same number of lines).With taller cell heights this means that the entirety of the lines that are visible are new lines after scrolling a single scroll-notch away, which leads to the worrying ambiguity of "what if I have scrolled past some of the lines" since you don't have any lines that are common to both positions that may serve as visual reference points.The only workaround is to click on the scroll bar and drag it, which is not as ergonomic as having a proper scroll.This has been somewhat mentioned in this other question from 2021 "Adjust Mouse Wheel Scroll Sensitivity?"  which doesn't have a single answer.

I have paid the invoice which failed yesterday. I had automatically been downgraded to free plan. However even after paying the invoice when I try to upgrade, it takes me to billing and then says we cant charge your card right now.
