Not sure if this is possible as I just started using Airtable. I created a formula for contracts based on Start Dates and Contract Term that will give me an Automatic Original End Date. Then I have another Field for Bonus weeks which will give me a “Final End Date” I am looking for a way to make the Final End Date field a Date/Time instead of a Formula field so that I can sort and group a certain way from a Date. Is this possible?

What is the best way to show subtasks in the timeline view?I use Airtable to manage projects. Currently they don’t show any kind of relationship and often end up moving across the page because of the default time sort. Ideally they’d group together from the parent. All of the tasks are in one table, labelled either task or subtask, and the subtasks are in a connected to the parent in a linked field.

I have a single select field in an interface that allows users to enter new values if what they need isn’t already on the list.  This will grow over time and it would be a lot more useful if it was in alphabetical order, but I don’t want to have to go into the field properties every day and click the alphabetize button.  Is there any way to automate this?

Hey guys,I have someone on my team getting a weird issue when trying to open a record detail in an interface. It's a timeline view interface where users can click into the record to view fields including a linked field to the project that when click opens a record detail of the whole project. The issue we are having is that when a person tries to open the project record detail they get the error "This record was hidden. The record might have been edited or your access might have changed."   They have full editor permission on the interface page and I can't find any other filters on the record detail page that might be causing this issue. I am also unable to replicate this bug on my end even when viewing as the user. Has anyone run into this bug before? Does anyone know why my user is unable to open the project record detail? And anyone know of a fix?Thanks!

Hello everyone, I’m designing the content layout for my team and I want to group relevant data items under common names like what we can do with “Grouping” button in Excel. For example, I have these data points: Overview: Company Name, Country, Status, Sector, Sub-sector, Stage (I want to group these four data points under the “Overview”) I also want to collapse/expand the view (with the “+” button as shown in the image) Thanks a lot for your help!

Hi, I’m part of a small growing business. We are looking for inventory database options as we begin to expand. I was curious if any other food-related businesses use Airtable for their inventory tracking? If so, how’s it going? Do you believe Airtable will be a good option as your company expands and grows?

It would be great if we could, in my case, get the elements smaller than what’s possible today. Eg, the “number” element: I can only get 4 in a row and it takes to much space in their smallest form. Being able to use the full width of the page (like eg you can do with a “gridd” element) and being able to get it smaller, would maybe result in a row of 10 (?) “number” elements. User case: displaying an interface on a tv screen in clients workplace.

I'm setting up an automation, which takes fields from a google forms response sheet and adds them to airtable as  single select fields. So far I have the form and the airtable with the single select fields.  The issue: afaik when setting up the automated import (new line in form response sheet --> new record in AT), I have to click into each field I want to import and match it with the right column in the response sheet. Is there any way to automate this?

I can't move left or right within the rows using the keyboard arrow keys in the "interface". I've been experiencing this issue since yesterday. Also, I'm unable to copy the data within the rows using Ctrl+C.

I have a multiple select field called “Weaknesses” in which a client can select different areas they’re struggling in with the language they’re learning. I’d love a formula that takes their responses and transform it to 1 word weaknesses and puts them together in a grammatically correct sentence. So... If they say “I can't stick to goals”, then I want the return to be “Goals” in the formula field. If they say "I can't stick to goals" and "I'm not great at speaking" it should return "Goals and Speaking." I would like to resubmit a  two year old feature request that would greatly simplify everyday work with Airtable:Proposed Feature:Allow users to temporarily enable or disable conditions in filters, groupings, and sorts, without having to delete and recreate them.What problem does this solve?Currently, a user must delete a condition to disable it and then manually recreate it later. This process is time-consuming, error-prone, and unnecessarily complicated.How would this feature help?A simple toggle on/off option would let users quickly test different views or check data without losing their existing settings. This would significantly improve flexibility and efficiency.Who would benefit?Every user who works with complex views and wants to switch between different settings easily.I hope you consider adding this widely requested feature to your product roadmap. Thank you for your attention and for continuously improving Airtable. 

Hi,I am reading this article by Airtable https://blog.airtable.com/interface-designer-permissions/ and where it talks about the use case for building a HR base so managers can see their team, people can see their own records etc. I don't know how to make this work in Airtable. Does anyone have any experience of doing this. I am on pro plan."For example, let’s say your HR department wants to create an app for performance reviews and calibrations. Only managers should be able to access their team’s reviews, while individual employees will still need access to their own review.  Instead of creating multiple bases, share views, or interfaces, you can create a single interface with a few filters." 

Hi there, I’m just wondering if anyone has tested the new Sandbox beta yet? This looks like something that would be really beneficial to us, but having never used anything like it I’m interested to hear other people’s experiences before enabling it. An example of something I’m not sure about is that I will sometimes have to make bulk changes to data when making field changes (eg splitting or consolidating fields), which may still be getting edited in Production while I’m making the changes in Sandbox. Does Airtable do anything to manage this? Looking forward to hearing your experiences. Thanks,Josh

Hi Everyone,Hope you can help me out please.I have a table with a client session log adding a new record for each client when they have another session:  I would like to be able to show how many sessions each client has had (eg the maximum number of sessions). Hi All,I’m relatively new to Airtable and I’m struggling to figure out how to structure the formula to do what I want. I know roughly how to do it in Excel, but really struggling to translate how it’d work in Excel to Airtable. There are multiple things I need the one formula to do, any help on how to structure one or more parts of the formula would be appreciated.Formula is in my “Modules” tab, but looking up data in my “Tasks” tab “Module name” field in both tabs is linked with a “Link records” type of field in the Tasks tab Each Module has multiple tasks (they’re sequential, with no more than 1 “In Progress” at a time) and I’m wanting the Modules tab to have a field that displays what Task is currently “In Progress” I also want it to state “Not started” if all the Tasks associated with that Module are “Not Started” or “Complete” if they’re all set to “Complete”The structures I’ve tried that are similar to Excel keep saying that the formula has issues and can’t be saved so I’m gettin

My team’s use of Airtable is growing a lot this year. As we develop new bases, there is basic, teamwide information that is repeated in tables across those bases. For example - locations, events, people.I’ve researched synced tables and feel like I have a basic understanding of how they work. Often, though, my experience is that I learn while building or doing work that a certain feature doesn’t do what I thought it would do based on my research.So I’m just looking for community feedback on this approach - perhaps setting up a base that houses tables with these basic details and then syncing those to multiple other bases. Are there limitations on the way you can use/interact with data that is coming from another table that make this not worth it? 

Hi all, hoping the hive mind can solve for what I think may be a common use case. Here we go…I have two tables:Table 1: List of records from form submissions. Records are only added to this table. Records are linked to another table with multiple look up fields. We have an automation that when a record is created in this table it finds a record in Table 2 by matching against a unique identifier and updates the lookup fields. If the unique identifier is not matched, the linked and lookup fields remain empty as seen in the screen grab below. Table name is named 1. Onboarding FormTable 2: List of records that is overwritten daily by an external sync. With any given update, records remain, are added to and/or fall off the list so it’s not a situation of “when a record is added”  or “enters a view”. Table is named 2. Hi there,I’m trying to generate an automation email and insert text from a Lookup Field. So the email/name is in one table, and then there are Lookup Fields for the Subject and Content which come from another table. These are visible in the table, but when I try to insert them into the automation they come back as blank. I know the automation works as it already has variable fields inserted which work fine, but I can’t make the Lookup Fields appear in the email. I don’t get an error so I don’t quite know where I’m going wrong. I’m choosing the “Value” option from here. Any help greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to invoice multiple customers at once for the same item? Background: I publish a newsletter and charge a yearly subscription. I rebill them for a renewal on the month they signed up one year later. I have normal turnover so I mange my list. I was thinking I could create groups by renewal month and price level (I have three price levels, no sales tax, very simple) and add my customers to their assigned group. Then at the start of each month Invoice that group and it would create an invoice for each member of the group with the same item. I would like to avoid having to create an invoice for each customer which can range from 30-175, depending on the month. Side note: The reoccurring billing in my accounting software is clunky and with airtable I’m trying to build a CRM/Membership Management+Invoicing in one, the cleanness and quick drill down appeals to me. I’ve looked at other options but my customer base skews older (Farmers) and 75% pay by check. Any help or suggestion
