Yikes. I mean, wow. Did anybody see this coming? Interfaces. First impressions after less than 30 minutes: Looks well done This is going to force me to reconsider everything ADDED NEXT MORNING: Here’s the official scoop — and a remarkably well-done video intro.
Hi everyone, I’d like to find out if it would be possible to add my interface to a webpage please? I’m using it as a time sheet for our volunteers, and basically just need it to stay open on a tablet so that it is easily accessible. Thanks
Hi I have an Airtable sheet where I write the payment dates of a detailed budget. Then, a calculate field shows the week number and year for that specific payment. What I want to achieve is a way to generate columns (maybe in a new table) with the week numbers in the columns and a SUM of all the payments of that week, so I can develop a cash flow view with the SUM of the payments each week. Any idea? Thanks for your help!
Imagine one-to-many relationship between Customers and Orders. It’s possible to configure the link between these tables from the side of Orders so that an order record cannot be linked to more than one customer record. If you create the record in an Orders view, this rule is enforced. What I just realized though is that this rule CANNOT be enforced from the Customers table, that is, from the Many side of the relationship. As far as I can see there is no way to prevent a user from linking a customer to an order record that was previously created and linked to a different customer. Of course this doesn’t make sense and is a violation of the cardinality of the relationship. It’s interesting that Airtable permits a kind of quick-and-dirty many-to-many relationship (without the creation of a join table) by allowing both sides of the relationship to link to many records. This is a convenience permitted by some other database systems as well (it’s possible for example in FileMaker). But if th
Hi There, I’m unable to scroll horizontally even though I have more columns than what fits my screen. Shift scroll also does nothing. It was fine yesterday and now it’s not available. Anyone able to help? I’m on Windows 10 Chrome Thanks, Sam
have recently signed up Airtable and have been watching videos on youtube trying to work out of what I am trying to do is possible but more important easy to do. I would like to create a database that consists of 120+ trainees. All of the trainees work through 4 classes, Junior, Senior 1, Senior 2 and Senior 3. Each class has a 20 week syllabus and trainees complete one syllabus before morning onto the next one. I need to be able to track progress through the weekly syllabus and also to be able to keep a record of trainees achievement. Would it be possible to do this with Airtable, and if so can you give me some idea of where to start.
Hi All, I’m currently looking into how to build an image database that will allow for searching on Client, Director, Date, and Keywords. I’ll be taking image folders from past jobs on Dropbox and linking them to the base in order to allow for quick searching for relevant images. I need help with the individual keywords, is there a way to have them in one column / field but have them independently searchable rather than just have the whole field light up when searched? Thanks in advance!
I tried searching but couldn’t find the answer. I’m looking for advice on how to track who has the next step in a project. For instance, I have many projects, linked to my tasks (one table for projects, one for tasks). I am looking for advice for ways to track who has the next step, when that step is due or promised. Right now, I have the following columns on my projects and on my tasks: Owner, Due Date, status(planned, active, waiting, done). But, I am running into the issue where I have a hard time seeing when something is due vs when it is promised to me. Is the answer to make a column for due date, another column for promised date, and then a column for who has next step, and who is owning the task? Thank you in advance for your suggestions
Hi! I want to create a sheet that will allow me to view my upcoming bills, assign money from each paycheck to cover it and be able to see what’s remaining that I need to fulfill. Kind of like helping me keep track of goals. I assume this will take creating a few different tabs within a base, but I’m a bit lost on what’s the best setup and how to link records. I am a freelancer, so I would have many different paychecks at any time (ie, not a regular biweekly paycheck). Thank you for your help!
Hello Airtable community. My base went totally haywire this morning, including fields that are not aligned appropriately and data that went missing. I can’t even track the changes anymore or see editing history. Did something happen today? Any recommendations on how to recover? I had a TON of data on this base and I’m panicking.
Hi Guys !! I have a cattle management database and I do WEIGHTING every month for around 1000 animals. I need to keep record of each animal monthly weight. I have that info thru a RFID Hardware, and can export that data to txt, csv or google sheets, but I want to SHOW that info within the animal profile. Today, I´m creating ONE LINKED RECORD for each monthly weight which makes me create thousands of records, hundreds for each animal, and does not make any sense … Any ideas hoy can I accomplish something similar without creating so many records ? Thanks Guys !!
Hi everyone! I’ve created a base with two tables: Projects Tasks There is a link between both tables so that tasks can be related to projects. What I’m trying to achieve is something like this: The goal is to visualize all projects to see what tasks are coming up next, and if there are no tasks allocated to a project, that should prompt me to think about what needs to be done. So I’d like to see: A list of all projects regardless of whether there are tasks linked or not The related tasks “nested” under each project Only the open tasks should be shown (anything with the “Complete” field checked should be filtered out) Does anyone have any suggestions on how best to achieve this? Here’s a link to the base: Airtable - Client Projects
Novice user here - I followed the videos and referenced some templates to build out a project management base with a linked tables for Projects and Tasks. We have several Projects that comprise the same set of tasks but are different projects (applied to different subjects). When I group tasks by project in a view of my Tasks table, I want to see them grouped by individual project. Currently, grouping tasks by project seems to treat every unique group of projects with the same set of tasks as “the project.” The intention of this view is to see all the tasks for each project as rows grouped by individual project. As it stands, I cannot even tell which projects are grouped together in the tasks view without widening the field to preposterous levels (see figs below) because the grouped-by field has a fixed height. Figures below show two groupings of tasks that differ by one project. I widened the field to be able to see all the project names and it is two monitors wide - first figure is t
I am trying to build my company a tool that would be used to track all the program specialist’s monthly re-examinations. I plan to use different views to allow each Program Specialist to display their progress in completing their monthly re-examinations. However, I am questions about how to make this possible without running into any issue where Program Specialists might inadvertently alter or change someone else’s log–by accident. Is there a way to lock views so that only specialists can interact with their own view?
Hi everyone. This is the setup I’m trying to achieve: I have a contacts table with: Name (primary field), Email, Phone, Address, etc. By default, all this users receive my weekly newsletter, because they all subscribe it somewhere in the past. The users can decide to stop receiving the newsletter, but I don’t want to delete their email address from their record (as the information on this table is also used in other situations, appart from sending the newsletter). My ideia is: to create a table with only the removed email addresses and, on the Contacts table, to add a column where there will be a check mark if the email address for a specific record is part of the removed emails list. With this setup, I can have the newsletter subscribers 100% updated, as when I insert a new removed email on the removed emails table, that email will be instantly flagged on the Contacts table and will not be used on the newsletter for the next week. How can I achieve this (please note that my primary fi
Hi folks, I’m responsible for creating and maintaining a roster that includes five people. I’ve been using excel to automate as much of it as possible in order to reduce human error and the amount of time I need to spend doing it. But this approach still requires sending a printed or pdf document and team members manually transcribing what it says to their own calendars. Ultimately, I’d like to produce a calendar that the whole team has access to, so it can subscribe to it using their digital calendar service of choice: I’ve put the people in a table named ‘Crew’: The five people follow a pattern of allocations on weekdays that repeats every four weeks. For example, James Holden usually covers Monday of week A (A1), and Amos Burton usually covers Wednesday of week C (C3): On my ‘roster’ table I started with the date column, calculated the weekday to return ‘ddd’, the week to return ‘W’, and also concatenated week and weekday into ‘A1’ format: The ‘Covering’ column contains the form
I’m trying to use Airtable to build a catalog of our software available along with FAQs how to use it. I think I have the main layout set, but I’m hoping to have each square in the gallery view open a new link/table. Is that possible? We are a school district and the easier it is the better.
Hello, I have just created a form (still unpublished) and I am having the warning message below. " Do you you know how to solve this issue ? Thanks !
Hi, One of Our bases exceed the capacity allotted by our current plan (Pro). We tried to contact sales but didn’t get an answer. We would like to know, what can we do, because we don’t want to loose any information in our bases.
I’ve been trying to figure out a way to count records and increment the number in a field and found this great solution by @Kamille_Parks which does the trick. But I’ve run into a couple of issues which I’m hoping someone can help me with. In my case I’m tracking change orders related to a job and would like to make each new change order n+1, relative to the job. So my Change Orders are Job#-1, Job#-2,Job#-3,. This solution does what I’m looking for but breaks if the user duplicates the record, which we’d like to do. The trigger here looks for a blank value for the count # but if you duplicate then the count field value is not blank, so the trigger fails. I’ve tried a bunch of things but haven’t figured it out. Any suggestions out there? It doesn’t seem possible to test to see if one field is = to another field, which could have possibly helped here. Hello! I am trying to build a tool where users could submit availability. What I am hoping to achieve is tool where: A range o dates + timeslots are shown (example, Monday, Tuesday, 8:00am-9:00am, 9:00am-10:00am) Users could submit them, so I can work out later a rota, for example.
I created a product catalog/sales recorder database that isn’t quite working the way I want it. I decided migrating to a new structure will be easier in the long run than trying to fix the old. Here’s the scenario. I sell greeting cards. Most times, my greeting cards are unique, one time only. Sometimes I create more than one. Sometimes I create several of the same and sell them as a package. The cards are sold at two different local stores, plus online, plus in person to individuals, plus at craft shows. So, what I for the new design thus far is: Product Table ProductName ProductType Image Birthday1 Single Card png file Fireplaces Card Pack png file Disposition Table Name Location LocationDetail ListPrice QtySold SoldPrice SoldDate Birthday1 Store1 $5.00 1 $5.00 10/1/2021 Birthday1 Other John Smith $5.00 1 $5.00 10/2/2021 Fireplaces Store1
Hi, Sorry in advance for the long post, but I think it may be important for context. I’m creating a base for HR and figuring out the best way to structure the base. Here’s what I’m trying to accomplish and my dilemma. I have two entities (still figuring out if these should be separate tables or within the same table, which is why I’m referring to them as entities). (1) Employees and (2) Onboarding tasks. Employees will have their own properties so fields like name, position, date of joining, and a ton of other fields. Onboarding tasks also have a bunch of properties such as task description, applicable to (FTE/PTE), responsible for task (HR or Employee since HR has to perform some of the tasks and there are other tasks that the employee must perform) and a bunch of other onboarding task fields. Also, there are about 60 onboarding tasks, so that number is a factor in my design approach. My approaches are: Approach 1 Employees in one table. Onboarding tasks in another table (listing out
1). Allow inputting in various text forms, like ‘Sept 25, 2022’. Look at Fantastical for best practices on flexibility there. 2). Allow setting Monday as default start date of week. I mistakenly put Saturday when I meant Sunday here:
Hello…I will be using Airtable and Softr.io. I am a NOVICE to all of this. The issue is to have the user ROLE automatically assigned by Airtable. I thought of using if statements, reviewed several videos and Airtable and Google documentation to no avail. Scenario: A user Signs Up through a Softr.io site, submits the request. Softr.io sends the request to my Airtable base and the table name is Patients with an entry for ROLE. The ROLE I would like automatically assigned is Patient. I have spent several hours reviewing videos and help files to no avail. HELP PLEASE…Luc
