I use a formula filterByFormula=Lower(E_Mail)=Lower("{user_email}". If there is a special Character of # or & or + in the e-mail address, for example debby+maier@gmail.com the formula does not find correspondig records in airtable. Special Characters like !$%’*-/=? within the E-Mail address are found. Can someone give me a workaround or solution. Thank you for your help

Hi, I’m not very clued up when it comes to the more complex features of Airtable so I’m hoping someone in this community can offer some assistance :slightly_smiling_face: I managed to solve part of my issue through searching these community forums here I am using UK postcodes to determine a salesperson’s region. I have a list of these vs salesperson which can be viewed here. I have a webform that is pulling into Airtable using Zapier so it populates the fields whenever a form is submitted. I’m now adding some extra fields to this so that our sales team can utilise the base as a leads tracker. I’ve got as far as using a formula to assign a salesperson based on the first 2 digits of the postcode: And that is working ok, but it leaves me with the issue of when a postcode starts with a single letter as is the case on line 5 here. I also wondered whether it’s possible to add a collaborator based on the postcode so that they would be notified, but I think that might be a step too far vs w

I am working on a database of the individuals in our feeding programme. In December we host an annual Christmas party for the kids between 5 and 16. How do I write a formula to identify these children? I have tried variations: IF({Current Age}>4 AND {Current Age}<17), ‘invite’) or IF( AND({Current Age}>4 {Current Age}<17), ‘invite’) and I just keep getting error messages. Clearly something is wrong with my format but I don’t know how to fix it. Please help :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, I am still an Airtable newbie. We are trying to set up a database of families receiving food from our NGO. I have one table set up for the families (with information like their address, intake records, etc), and one for the records of each individual (with information like birthdate, school reports, gender, etc). I have managed to get column showing the number of individuals in each family (on the family table) and one showing which individuals are children (on the individuals table). Is there a way to get a column on the family table that gives the number of children (under 18s) in each family? (something like a combination of a count and formula field).

DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_TIMEZONE(Date, 'Australia/Brisbane'), 'DD/MM/YYYY') This is not working for me. It doesn’t matter what I set the timezone to, it keeps saying it is yesterday. I need help to fix this because it is driving me crazy.

I have data being automatically being inputted from Stripe to the column on the right. I need to -2 from the number in the right column and then *87 however I don’t want it to go minus(it does this when there’s no data in the right column). I want 0 to be lowest value it goes. Hello Brains! I am looking for a way to quickly “fill inn the blanks” with the value of the above cell. Something like “if cell is empty, then copy value of above cell”. (This is an issue after my weekly import to my base) I know I can drag down to copy - but when there are many lines downwards, the speed is increasing to a level I am not in control of, and I risk scrolling too far and end up overwriting a cell. So I am stuck with ctrl+C, ctrl+V, but that makes a lot of manual work, and is a source for errors. (I also have coworkers in the base, so I need it to be easy, quick and safe). Any tips, tricks, formulas or scripts?

Hi there, I was able to grab a formula from this amazing community to show status of due items, which is working great – but I need to add in one layer and my attempts so far have only produced errors. Not sure if it’s possible or what I’m doing wrong. My company run Zoom workshops and we are required to generate registers with time in/out. Zoom gives me a CSV file with this data, but it often enters the same client accross multiple rows. I then need to apply deductions for any period of time where the client was offline during the session. To achieve this in sheets I did {Time out 2} - {Time in 1}. This had to be applied once the data was appropriately sorted using a macro. Clearly this does not work in Airtable - any other smart ideas?

I have a list of video assets that I was originally tracking in Google Sheets. I have three sheets/tables- the first table has the main data and the following tables include tags for the videos. All the records on all three tables are the same, they just have different tags. I couldn’t link the records in Sheets and so I was manually updating the records with the tags. Now I’ve discovered Airtable and this would have made my life a million times easier. So, I need to convert those other tables into a new field and this will solve the issue of this table being too big (too many records). Because I was using Sheets, on the tags sheets, each tag is a column/field. It should just be 1 field that is multiple select that I just choose which tag applies to that video. I’ve converted one table to single select and fixed the labels, but now I need for those single select fields to all combine into one field that can become a linked record. Do I use rollup? Hello, I see that there is a rate limitation on querying Airtable records. But is there a limitation on Airtable attachment links? I am building a table (and form) where users can upload multiple files for one entry. Later I would need to download these images off Airtable to a local DB. When downloading the CSV from Airtable, the attachments appear as links from Airtable. Would like to know if there is any specific rate limit on hitting these URLs. Thanks!

I have multiple affiliate links and descriptions that i would like to separate from their linked record. I’d like to have D1 (Description 1) and L1 (Affiliate Link 1) to be CONCATENATE(D1, L1) However, with the lookup field pulling in the affiliate descriptions and links, they are all listed as D1, D2, D3, etc. & L1, L2, L3, etc. How can i separate them from that list and pull them into another field for other use? While maintaining a correlation between D1 and L1 and D2 & L2, etc.

I’m trying to calculate a formula using the if function but not sure where to start. My formula correctly calculates the wholesale cost of a case of 12 bottles of imported wine from the ex cellar price. However, still wines under 14.10% Alc are taxed at 25% of the value (ex cellar x 1.25), still wines 14.1% and higher are not taxed, and to make things even more exciting, sparkling wines are never taxed. I want to make one formula that incorporates whether the wine is taxed or not. can anyone help? in my formula: ex cellar = price of 1 bottle of wine in EUR, 1.15 = est exchange rate 1 EUR= USD, 12 = number of bottles in a case, 18 = cost of shipping in USD to import the wine, 0.6 = target 40% margin on final price. everything works fine, just not sure how to incorporate the tariff on some wines but not others.

From what I understand Airtable advocates using as few tables as possible. I have also come to love the working with grouped and filtered fields in Airtable. Potentially this could make it easy to filter out empty records and use one table like a catchall that could be used for multiple purposes by grouping and filtering. But from my limited knowledge about databases and spreadsheets, I have the impression that you always should avoid empty anything. Is the best practice to avoid this in Airtable as well?

Is there any way to have a hierarchical structure in the organizational chart block that is more than 3 rows deep? I am building a family tree and I’d rather the org chart continue to build vertically instead of horizontally, but it seems to continuously lay out horizontally which is making some of the connections confusing to read.

Like the calendar view but if you introduce Gantt you could take Smartsheet out of the market :slightly_smiling_face: until then they have an edge over you!!! As an interim to full Gantt view could you show tasks with a start and end date as a span e.g. multi days rather than start date only?

I’m trying to figure this out and can’t for the life of me. Basically, this was a template in the AirTable Universe and when it’s a meal from leftovers I want it to say not just “Leftovers”, but which leftovers: ie “Leftovers (Beef Tacos)”. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it. Here’s the formula that is currently in the table: I tried to do nesting IF statements and could not get it to work. I saw on a different post here that some people have conditional roll up fields, but I don’t seem to have that option (there’s no toggle on my roll up options to add conditions). Help is appreciated.

I would like to have a field in my table that shows the URL for each of the records so that this can easily be added to an email in a mail merge. I realize that I can copy the URL for any record and then paste it into the URL field that has been to the table, but there must be a simple way to just display the record URL. Thanks, Mike Morse
