Hello all, I’m new to the community and have been finding so many valuable resources here - thank you! I did some research on this question but wasn’t able to quite find the solution. Here is the basic layout of the two tables in question: RIGS table // Shows all our available inventory Rig 01 Rig 02 Rig 03 etc EVENTS table // Shows event details including which pieces of Inventory are assigned to which Event Event 1 - Rig 01 Event 2 - Rig 02, Rig 03 etc Objective: As Inventory is assigned in the EVENTS table, I want to remove the assigned Inventory from the RIGS table dynamically. I can make this happen per field, however it doesn’t translate to all records globally. Thank you so much for your help in advance! Joanna

I have multiple checkboxes in my base, showing only 1 checkbox per view. Can someone please help with putting together the correct formula to update my “Status” field based on the checkboxes. The closest I can find is support when 1 box is checked at a time, however, once this step is complete the checkbox for that view is hidden and the new view reveals step 2 - showing only step 2 checkbox. So as you carry on through the task management process multiple checkboxes will get checked and I don’t want the “status” field to show all fields, just the one on the current view. Typing that to explain it is harder than I thought. So in a nutshell- think of the checkboxes as status dropdowns - and manually changing the status drop down during each phase of your project. That’s what I need to accomplish but with checkboxes. Thank you

A huge draw back for me of Airtable is its limited Zapier integration - and the fact that it can only trigger on new record (and in view) - I really need this to trigger on updated field / record. I know I can do this with Integromat but don’t want to introduce a new app to my stack. There seems to have been some discussion of this some time ago… but quiet recently - is there another hack or imminent zapier development? Thanks

Here is what I want to do… We are using Airtable for a survey that can be answered anonymously. Many people may wish to do this at first and therefore not put their emails in initially. However, later we ask if they want to receive information about services, so we would then need their email. For now, I have the description state that they need to provide us with an email if they answer yes. Is there a way to have the email field pop back up? In other words, I don’t want to have two email fields, I want it to link to the same field.

Hi everyone! I have a table with a list of 6 different release dates - I’m trying to create a field that looks at all of those dates and picks the earliest/first one as “Initial Launch.” IS_BEFORE only seems to work with 2 dates and the factorial of 6 dates is 720 possibilities of combinations so I don’t think I can do a workaround combining multiple nested IF and IS_BEFORE functions. Maybe I’m over thinking this though. I also thought about self-linking and doing a rollup field? Anyway, any advice or recommendations welcome!

Hi, Airtable folks! I have a trouble with sharing blocks in Public. I was given a beta feature to share blocks in Public but all of the records are also automatically shared in Public. There is a button saying “Show data” in the top right corner in the shared public page, which I want to hide. Does anyone know how to hide it? If I can’t do it, I want to vote for the feature which we can hide it with.

HI all! I could really use your help please. I have a column that I call “Sponsor” that is a value of a number like 12345 (this is imported from a spreadsheet) but instead of showing 12345 (cause I can’t remember who that is) I’d like it to show a name like Sally Brown. There are probably 10 unique “Sponsor” numbers that I need to correlate with 10 different names.

I have of data that you want to import in one fell swoop and I have a bunch of photos that relate to each record of that tons of data. Whats the most efficient way of getting all the data and images up?

I have three tables - Organizers, Events and Players. Organizers have events and players are part of an event. I want to pull the most recent event for a particular organizer through the API via a GET, but can’t figure out how to do that. I’d also like to pull in a particular event by ID. In this case, I’ve pulled the ID of the event into a column (RecordID) via a formula (RECORD_ID()), but don’t know the correct URL parameter to send. Thanks in advance.

How do you sum a column of data. I try the formulas that SUM({GROUP}), but the result is not the sum of all the data in a column.

Hello everyone. I am trying to build a somewhat complex base. I thought I had figured it all out, but I can’t get the last part together, so I would like some help please. First, I have (1) projects. Projects are created by (2) acts, which assign (3) people to the (4) group working on each of them. But an act can also do other things (extending deadlines, changing its type, etc.), which are all covered already maybe except for one that seems tricky for what I still need to solve: an act can replace people in the group or simply add more people to it. So I have the following tables: Projects Acts People Groups The (2) acts table has the following columns: A) [Single line text] Act ID B) [Date] Act’s date C) [Multiselect] Purpose/object [one or more of: “project creation”, “deadline extension”, “group member replacement”, “group member addition”, “final report/project closure”] D) [Link to one or many] Projects [because a projects sometimes are “connected” so a group will work on more

I manufacture products, and have a customer that buys several items at once. They are requesting a spreadsheet with one Item and description of each item per row in said spreadsheet. Example: My current base shows the following “3 Pieces of green widgets that weigh 50 pounds each and 3 pieces of red widget that weigh 10 pounds”. The customer is requesting the information to be displayed in a spreadsheet as below green widget 50 pounds green widget 50 pounds green widget 50 pounds red widget 10 pounds red widget 10 pounds red widget 10 pounds Does anyone have a suggestion as how to do this automatically?

hello guys, i am looking for this apps to manage my several projects. i proposing to use table as my “portofolio” and use category as my “project”. I am little bit confusing how to add more category within the table. maybe some of you willing to share your experience in using Airtable to manage several projects and oversee project statuses in a glance. thanks you

We use Airtable for our own campaign planning, but also have partners that use Airtable for various other reasons. They don’t have shared workspaces or bases, but they use the “share” link (see 1st screenshot) to provide visibility into certain views. Screenshot #1: My question: is there a way for me to save their view somewhere in my Airtable home? I have the view bookmarked in my regular web browser, but it would be awesome if there was a place I could store specific shared views somewhere within my workspaces? I know I could do something with blocks or in a different table or something like that, but it would be great if, just like workspace and block organization, there was also somewhere I could save shared Airtable links (see 2nd screenshot). Hi Airtable fam, I’ve tried everything at this point… After banging my head against the wall for a full two days, I decided to stop being a dummy and ask for help. Full disclosure… I am a complete novice on Airtable, having just started to interact with it about a week ago. In essence, what I’m attempting to do is: Retrieve all the records of one table (exercises) Filter by two metrics (match difficulty of the exercise with a “difficulty selector”, + or - 1 on a different table, AND make sure the required equipment for the exercise matches what the user has, again, on a different table.) Paste the RECORD IDs of the exercises that pass the filter into a field in another table (there are usually about 20-30) I’ve been able to get pretty far down the road on my own using Integromat. I have a users table which has a user_id and points field. I have a points_events table which logs each time a user_id receive points for an action I need the points field in the users table to sum the total points associated with that user_id from the records in the points_events table. How can I do this? I need it to be as automatic as possible. Thanks for any help you can offer!

Hey all, new to AirTable! So, I’ve setup a table which uses an Autonumber field in conjunction with formulas in two other fields to create an ID which will increment a base number (say, 10000 in this case) by the row number so whenever I create a new row, these two fields values will go 10001, 10002, etc… So, it’s all working great, but when I delete the test rows, the autonumber doesn’t reset back to 1. I had to delete the field and re-create it to make it work - is there a better way?

Hi everyone, Hope you’re having brilliant weeks. I’m trying to make a step challenge that I’ll be running for free. I’ve been able to split the results into teams but I’d like to create a league table based upon averages throughout the six weeks. I know how to do this in Excel but I can’t work out how to do it in Airtable. Does anyone have any ideas? This particular base is on a free account so don’t have access to any blocks. Is anyone else having an issue/glitch with the Description block, where the curser keeps jumping to the top of the page while you’re typing? It’s very annoying… I hope I am not accidentally hitting a shortcut key, but it keeps happening? I’m using a Lenovo PC.

I have been perusing the community forum and topics trying for hours to create a new date in a field for 6 days out by using a different date field as the base number. For example, I have a field named ‘Lead Mag Date’ where the date is input manually. I would like another field named ‘Day 6 Call’ to automatically populate the correct date for 6 days later. (i.e., Lead Mag Date 7/14/2020; Day 6 Call 7/19/2020. Here is the formula I was trying to create: DATETIME_DIFF({Lead Mag Date}TODAY(),‘days’) + 6, {DAY 6 CALL} = ‘MM/DD/YYYY’) Any suggestions?
