Base Design

My sister is on a free account and she noticed her home screen changed. Please, please tell me this isn’t going to happon the Pro account. It’s so much less user-friendly. The icons are micro sized (which wastes a massive amount of space) and the icons don’t move in the order you want them (has to be alphebetically, etc). I absolutely LOVE Airtable and it makes work so much better but this is not an improvement. Can someone let me know if this is happening across all accounts? Thank you!!

Just as the title says.  I have a form that looks like thisCompany NameCompany Size Contact NameContact EmailContact Phone  How can I have it set so that my form finds the single foreign key then passes those fields to create those records?

My base should only be Eastern Standard Time, but it keeps defaulting to GMT.   The devices I use it on are all EST.   What would cause this issue?   - Wendy

Hi community,I have this problem : In a grid view, a table is sorted manually. After each opening, the order is kept.A script fetches the records of the table, and delivers them in alphabetical order, not in the manual order.I don't add any sort param - like 'sorts: [ {field: "someField"} ]' - I cannot figure out a 'handy' workaround... The option to read on a sorted priority field quickly becomes tedious, time consuming, and requiers a lot of energy...Thanks in advance if you can let me know how i can workaround this behavior.

I've been working on Airtable for a while now but I'm by no means an expert so I'm pretty confused about how to set this up for my boss 😞What I'm trying to do:Each client goes through an onboarding process that contains the same steps/tasks. These tasks have durations and overlap, in total can take up to 90 days.I'm trying to use a Gantt or Timeline view where I can set the start date for a client's onboarding process and then the tasks will auto-populate with the correct deadlines based on the start date. The tasks can be completed earlier or later than the deadline depending on the client's situation, and the subsequent tasks should adjust accordingly.I'm trying to view multiple clients' progress at the same time, which is why I was hoping to use a Gantt or Timeline view. Hello All,I have two base design options that I and coworkers are trying to agree on. I will like to make a comparison between the twoBase Design #1 Idea: Have one big base with all the data and third-party automations, then create views for different teams with specific permissions. If someone wants to collaborate, special permissions can be made and then deactivated after a set time.  Base Design #2 Idea: Have different bases for different teams. This is not currently working, but there is a fear that having one big base will not suffice for everyone's needs.  Can anyone provide pros or cons for both options?

I have a "Projects" table with 2 columns of the professional specialties that need those projects to be executed.Both columns are Linked Records to a master table of "Specialities.The specialties can be repeated in the 2 columns, because each column means a group of specialties, and the project could be executed if the assigned professional meets one group or another.For example: "PROJECT 1"- can have in the column "SPECIALITIES_1", the specialties: "specialty_1, specialty_2"- and in the column "SPECIALITIES_2" the specialties: "specialty_2, specialty_3"- being "specialty_2" common in both groups.The Projects have an associated price.I need to know the % of income per specialty.Each specialty is weighted equally in the project price, if a project has 3 specialties, then each one takes ~33% of the price.The problem I don't know how to solve is the following.As I have 2 columns with groups of specialties tha

Hello! I'm new to Airtable, so I apologize if this is a very basic question.I have a bunch of different contractors. I'd like to use Airtable for each of them to record their progress on the various projects that I assign them. However, I don't want them to have access to each other's records, and ideally they wouldn't even know who each other are. I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to set this up.My first thought was to create a single workspace with multiple bases, and then invite each contractor as a collaborator (with editor permissions) on one specific base. Each contractor's base would just contain a subset of my master "projects" base, filtered according to a "contractor" field -- and perhaps with certain other fields omitted, such as my own private notes on their performance.But I'm guessing that then each contractor would still be able to see who all the collaborators are in the workspace? Does anyone know if it's possible to create a new entry within form view when selecting an option from a Linked field?For example, I'd like to use a form view to enter information about a new proposed project.  One of my fields there is a linked field with every record in a separate tab of companies we have worked with.  Ideally, I'd like to create a new company directly from the form view of creating the new project proposal if required.  But I'm imagining perhaps I can't.

An entry in a text or number field in a base needs to be able to take the user to the linked page on an external site. Is this possible?

My team manages YouTube channels and have a content calendar that shows what stage each video is at & when it's coming out.In the new year we are moving from Google Sheets to Airtable so external stakeholders have better visibility.On our current Sheet we have it set up so that the cell with today's date is coloured bright pink so we can easily scroll to 'today'.Is there a way to replicate this in Airtable?

HiI'm moving my automations from Zapier to Make and I'm struggling to get the airtable automations to work in the same way.Previously, when pulling the automation from Teamwork, the websites field showed a record ID, which then haulted the other linked fields.  I then created the Websites copy column to turn the Record ID into text.  Make does this differently and pulls the tag in as text, so I need to find a way to do the reverse, ie using the text in the Websites Copy column to find the matching record ID on another table, thus allowing the other lookup fields to function.I'm not sure if any of that makes sense, but any help for this rookie is much appreciated.TIA  

I have a database of my softball league and have the table grouped by team, but the count for each team is cutting off the team name, which I'd much rather see. Is there a way to stop the count from displaying? The only way I can see to do it is making the number column very wide, which makes the table look terrible. Is there a way to easily see the full group name?

I have two tables, one with products and one with parts of the product. On the parts table, I include a team member who's responsible for that part. Sometimes the same team member is responsible for all the parts, and sometimes the responsibilities are split.In the products table, I'd like to summarize the team member who's most responsible for the product, who'd be the person assigned to the most product parts. I can't figure out a way to do a rollup that shows the most common value of the linked parts, though. Is there a way to do that?

I've been researching and trying to create a table for my needs but having problems and doubting if this is possible with Airtable.I'm importing a csv/google sheets everyday with ID, date and amount fields. What I'm trying to achieve is, import another csv, if there is a matching ID, it's date and value fields should be added to their relevant fields instead of overwriting any previous values.ID1 should have both 09/12 date and 500 amount should be linked, in addition to 10/12 date and 1000 amount getting linked too.And be able to see an IDs amount on a chosen date and also able to sort for last weeks IDs with the highest amounts.I'd really appreciate if someone can briefly explain the method I should be using or if this is possible at all. I am trying to use Airtable as a resource to build concert programs for a music organization. I have one table (called Compositions) that contains what will be a very large list of compositions, and each composition may have anywhere from 0 to 6 movements. The movements are currently input as text fields. I have another table called Program Builder where I will be selecting from those compositions and the movements contained therein.I have successfully linked the Program Builder table to look up compositions from the Compositions table. However, for any given program that I'm building I would like to be able to select specific movements of that composition, but not necessarily select all of them.For example, I have the composition Cello Suite No. 3 in C Major, BWV 1009 which has six movements: I. I have a base that currently has a single table which is populated via an integration with Jotform. There may be more than one record per customer and I'd like to create a view which will only show the most recent submission.I've got "last modified" as a field and I'd like to use that as a filter along with the customer's name.Is it possible? Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to work with attachmentsAfter looking at several posts on the subjectFor example regarding photos from my website or from Google Drive.If I upload these links in the attachment field, will they become invalid after a few hours?So currently it is not possible to display images in the table without using the automation that uploads the images each time?Or is the problem only in using the link, but the image will still remain displayed in the table?I would appreciate recommendations and insights.

I'm trying to see if there's a way to do a look-up on a linked record that's in a look-up field?I have three tables, one for the overall project (like, "Q1 Product"), one for production phases (like "planning," "writing," "design," etc. so I can show them on a timeline), and one for production pieces (like, "magazine," "packaging," "instructions," etc.).The phases for a project get linked to the overall project, and the pieces for a project get linked to the overall project. That's already a lot of linking and record creation for a project, and the phases are only loosely associated with the pieces, so I don't have the phases and pieces linked together, just to the overall project.What I want to do is pull some info out of a phase record and pass it to a piece record.
