Hi folks, Possibly being a little too ambitious here, but i'm trying to set up a Vega-lite extension to create a geographical heatmap displaying $total sales value per U.S county, using the Vega Editor example 'Choropleth of unemployment rate per County'.(Originally wanted to go with zip codes, but opted for counties to save creating a 40,000+ record table in my base just to run a single chart).I'm brand new to vega-lite and json in general, so wondering if anyone has managed to achieve this (or similar)?, or has any general tips in terms of using Vega's Geographical Map Displays in their Airtable Base?Thanks for reading 🙂

Is there a foolproof way to do this? I use CTRL-X and CTRL-V, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...and it may depend on whether the columns and views are arranged the same way between the source and target tables. 

After going to interfaces and choosing the grid option there is an option to hide and show certain fields.However, all the fields that you show can either be editable or non-editable. It would be a great and easy addition to choose individually which visible fields can be editable and which not. If this was possible, you could potentially build a fully functional portal instead of using additional tools like Softr, Miniextensions, etc. for it. 

Hi there, I think this question has been asked in other threads - but I didn’t find a straight answer to that. Is it possible to share an org chart app extension outside Airtable? I can’t find a way or workaround to do so - only downloading it as a pdf. It would be amazing to be able to have the same browsing experience (zoom in and out, collapse sections and so forth) but in a sharable link to be used somewhere else. PD: also adding a legend or some text would be nice too :slightly_smiling_face:

Can we PLEASE get a fix for this? I do a lot of data entry in Airtable, and it's very challenging to manage record changes with this setup. The Problem: If you're working in any grid view with a sort or filter applied, Airtable will often try to sort/filter the record currently being edited, before the entry is completed. If you add any text into a field, every character you add to the record will trigger the re-sort/re-filter, regardless of if you're still actively typing. Suggestion: It would be ideal if Airtable did not recognize a change to the record until the record is "de-selected" (when the user hits "enter", "tab", clicks away, etc.). It's very frustrating to have a cell I'm actively working on move within the view as I'm doing data entry. Additionally, this change will reduce processing load in Airtable, because it's not constantly trying to reorganize the data with every keystroke. Hi, I'm relatively new to Airtable - still enjoying learning how to build neat things with it!I've noticed that when I'm testing my Airtable forms, my browser doesn't pop up the usual menu of autofill options for things like my name, email, address, etc. as usual. Is Airtable blocking this somehow? Can I un-block that? It certainly makes testing slower but more importantly, autofill helps users accurately enter common information, saving them time and reducing typos and other common errors. Example screenshot attached - starting to type my name doesn't offer to fill out the rest like it does on just about every other form on the web 🙃I searched Google and this community before posting but found almost nothing mentioning this, but got a lot of unrelated things since "Autofill" is often discussed in relation to formulxs [sic] etc. Sorry if this has already been asked.Thanks!-Chris

Hello,I'm trying to build a form where my team can submit a PTO request.I set two date fields, one for date when they want to start their PTO and one for their return date.So I would like to set the return date field to be after the start date.Is there any way to disallow people from entering the same or earlier date as their return date than their start date? I don't really mind how it's done (ie. pop up message, greying out any dates on or prior to the start date on the calendar), but just a way so that people won't be able to proceed to submit their request unless they put a date after their start date as the return date.Any input would be appreciated. Hi,The Typeform extension in Airtable is repeatedly failing to connect (screenshots at the bottom of this post). I have written multiple emails to Airtable Support but the responses are vague and not very helpful so far.I want to create a Typeform that pulls data from certain fields in Airtable, and displays that data as options for certain selection-based questions in my form. This is a less popular use case than simply sending Typeform data to Airtable, which is the focus of most other threads in the Support portal, in this community, and other third-party forums.Can someone quickly help solve this / suggest the best way forward? I click Accept on this page: but keep landing on this page instead of seeing a successful connection.

I am trying to print a single record.  Page designer is not being used - I am simply printing the record.  Problem is I am getting inconsistent results:One time most of the content from the record is printedAnother time almost no content form the record is printedAnother time nothing is printingThe problem is within Airtable platform.  It is the same if I print to PDF or to the printer.I have tried in both Edge and Chrome.  I have not had this problem in the past.I am on a PC / Windows 10 pro.Appreciate any guidance here. Sali

Hello, We are integrating Airtable with other systems and using Record Id as the key to link the records and avoid duplication. Today we faced that the record ids are changed for all records from a airtable sheet which made sync failed. Anyone know the root case of it ? (Is something to do with the outrage airtabel had yesterday (10th March, 2021)? Also if someone can help us what are the diff-diff scenarios when the ids can be changed ? any thoughts? I have created a database, in it a column Attachments to which I upload a PDF file with annotations. If I view the pdf in windows or ipad, the annotation is visible. But on android it is not. In windows there is an option to show and hide the annotations, but neither in ipad nor in android I don't see this option. Is there an option to enable this display on Android?

I am using a base as a template to create future project bases. The base template contains a table where multiple fields are synced from a master database. One of the fields synced from the source {Proj 1 Task Status} is unique to each project. {Proj 1 Task Status} is linked to numerous formulas, automations and interfaces.When I duplicate the base to setup for a new project, I need to change the {Proj 1 Task Status} synced field to {Proj 2 Task Status}.Simply deleting the field and adding another synced field means I will need to fix every single broken formula, interface and automation, replacing {Proj 1 Task Status} with {Proj 2 Task Status}.Is there a way to remap {Proj 1 Task Status} to another field in my sync source?

Hello! We recently built an Airtable base to use as a Project Management system to track milestones and tasks. We primarily work out of interfaces, and rarely go into the actual data tables at all. When someone @mentions another user in the comments section on the interface side, the email we all receive links to the data side. Is there a way to adjust the links we get in the emails so that it takes us to the interface side instead? Also, can these emails be further customized to give more information as to which deliverable/milestone/tasks it's coming from?Thank you in advance!

Hi there - I am an academic researcher and using Airtable to keep a database of primary source documents that I have scanned and will be using in future grad research. I am not collaborating with anyone on these documents at the moment.I want to link the actual files to the database entry, but don't think dropping in the actual file will be sustainable over time (thousands of high res scans of various sizes)?  I'll quickly overrun my Airtable space, I believe.When I scan the files at the National Archives, I use a program (ScanSnap) that is much faster and more reliable in saving the file locally to a folder than uploading to Dropbox automatically, though it is a built-in option. So, I'm somewhat torn.I am a Mac user and was going to go through the (somewhat tedious) process of using iCloud links to put in the columns where I want to link to the documents. I have plenty of iCloud storage space. The only thing throwing me off is when I'm on my Mac, that link just takes me to t

I have a column of Job Names and would like to indicate which Job Names are unique in that column. Has anyone successfully done this? Essentially I want to do the opposite of checking for duplicates and returning duplicate values in a new column.

Hi all!Clicking an URL link in 'list view' does not open the URL in a new tab in the web browser. Instead it 'highlights' the URL in goes into edit mode.I want a click to 'follow the link'. How/is it possible to do that?Thanks for any suggestions!/Jonas

I was at ONA24 in Atlanta last week and, as someone who has used Airtable in my last four newsrooms, I can say Airtable would make a killing signing up new paid users. It is by far the best content management system available (I've tried them all).You really need to have a midway presence at ONA25 in New Orleans.

I am new to Airtable. I am wondering whether you can send an email to an airtable record. Eg a follow up item to be added as a task. (This can be done in Evernote and other task programs). Thank you in advance

I’d like to integrate photos into Airtable but would prefer not to have to upload them directly as an attachment but would prefer to link them to someplace outside of Airtable. Currently I do this with an Evernote link. But ideally I could find a way to link it directly to my “Photos” app on the iPhone. The impetus for this is to avoid redundancy of having a photo stored in multiple places (Photos and Airtable, or Photos and Evernote). I store all my photos automatically to iCloud so I was hoping there is a way to link directly to a photo or link directly to an album? (Selecting photos and using the “Copy iCloud Link” feature doesn’t work b/c that link expires in 30 days…) Anyone know of a way to do this? Or any other interesting ways of tackling this problem? I'm using the CSV Import extension to import data into an existing table. I am trying to preserve a linked field relationship so that when data is imported, it does so into a linked field. I understand this is possible, however, the linked field I am working with is linked to a table that is synced from another base.When I try to import, I get an error message saying "You can't create records in 'Table' because it is a synced table." Are there any workarounds or is this just a limitation of Airtable? If I turn off the field (complete_machine_sn), I don't get an error message. At the end of the day, my goal is just to import the data and preserve the linked relationship, as I have downstream workflows that required that linked relationship.
