Hi, i’m having an issue, i have a base with around 80 new lines, with a date and time. I tried to organise it manually by days and hours, but it seems that it gets messy all the time, maybe when i’m looking for an information using a filter. Is there a way to lock the place of each line based on the date ? Right now i have to sort it “1-9” in order to have then reorganized, but i don’t understand it doesn’t stay like i wanted it ordered… can you help me please ?

Hello all. I’m new to scripting in Airtable. I’ve learned a lot from this forum but cannot resolve a multi-record linking problem. I have a table of People with a field called Crafts which links to a related table “List - Crafts” which includes records for Director, Writer, Producer, and so on. In a People record, I want to populate the Crafts field with multiple values. For example, in the Person record “John Doe” the Crafts field would include Director and Writer. My code queries the “List - Crafts” table and stores the relevant record IDs into an array named idYouNeedArray. It’s my understanding you need to pass an array of strings to populate the field with multiple values however this code does nothing with the Crafts field. peopleTbl.updateRecordAsync(foundPeopleRec, { "Crafts": [ {id: idYouNeedArray} ] }); The only way I can get multiple values into the Crafts field is with this: peopleTbl.updateRecordAsync(foundPeopleRec, { "Crafts": [ {id: idYouNeedArray[0]}, {id:

Hello. I need to add and subtract items that are not numbers nor dates. How can I do it? To illustrate it, I have changing groups of people working on projects, so I have a first column for people originally assigned, then a second for people who left in the middle of the project and a third one for people assigned also in the middle: [A] Original composition: “John” “Jack” [B] Removed: “John” [C] Added: “Jill” (All above are linked to the ‘People’ table.) I would like to have a [D] Current column where I can get “Jack” “Jill” as result of a formula, which should essentially work as D = A - B + C, i.e., D should contain items in either A or C but not B. How can that be done, please?

As you can tell by my question, I am new to Airtable :slightly_smiling_face: How do I rewrite this formula so it does not result in …#ERROR when I don’t have dates in some the cells used in the calculation? Hi, I have a field which I can see in API documentation for the table. https://airtable.com/{app_id}/api/docs#curl/table:{table_name}:fields I don’t see the field in rest of the docs (list/retrieve/create/update). I don’t get the field in the API response either when I’m trying to list records. Table name is 110 characters long, is Single select, string. I’m wondering if the length of the field name is the reasoning of the missing field. I would like to know what to do to get the field in API response.

Hi All, I have a base that acts as a Property Management System with multiple tables. Two of those tables are the “Contracts” table and “Bills” Table. I have been using the new scripting block to streamline all of the daily processes: Recording new payments received and issuing receipts, creating customised reports of income/outstanding bills reports, by City/Property/Tenant reports …etc. I am finally at the last step where i am attempting to create a script that prompts the user to insert all of the relevant contract information and creates a new contract record in my “Contracts” table, and then also automatically adds corresponding bills (in the Bills table) in the wanted frequency (i.e: 12 bills of monthly rental payments with due dates and amounts), and finally links them to the contract. However, I am getting a strange behavior when adding the bills. The creation of the contract record works just fine but when the script attempts to add the bills I get the following error: Syntax

Hi, I’ve shared a base for collaboration with one person. I’m also using this base as main database for my work. I would like to add a field for each line created (each line represents a new client, with a new job) where i can add some secret informations that i don’t want to share with the other person. How do i do that ? it’s text information. Thanks

I’m so confused using the Dedupe block. It doesn’t MERGE anything. It just keeps the primary record. Let’s say I have a table with Name, Email, Phone, Address, and Transactions. I select find dups records as Name and Email, 2 Records appear. has the phone and transactions. has the address How do I merge the address into record 1 or the phone and transactions into record 2. So I only have one records the with Name, Email, Phone, Address, and Transactions. What am I overlooking?

I have a script I run that manages task due dates. Using self linked table to setup predecessor tasks with manual start date and manual lead time fields, it calculates the end due date. The script pulls the predecessors end date and checks if the task start date matches or not. If not it will change the start date. My problem is right now is that when I press the button to run the script, it runs through the script once, showing me a result of all the tasks/dates it updated. Because at the time of running the script these are the only dates it found mismatching. But as a result of these updates, I have to run the script again to update any further tasks/dates that were affected. Then again and again until there is no more dates needing to update. What I want to do is have the script pause at the end, then run the script again on its own. I want it to continue this loop until there is really no more tasks/dates to update. Is there any way to do this?

Not 100% sure where this should go but: I am using airtable as a database for the teas we have in stock. However, when a tea goes out of stock, I would like to mark the item as “finished” and relocate it to a new table automatically so it isn’t included in the main count and doesn’t clutter up the table. While I know I can do that using a filter, people who are unfamiliar with airtable (or even spreadsheets/databases) have found this difficult. I don’t want to lose the information entirely since it lets me know if something we got didn’t go over well and we don’t want to purchase again or if it’s something we really enjoyed, I want to be able to quickly add it back to the main table. Please let me know if this is possible? I’d rather avoid manually moving this data but understand if that’s the only way.

I set up a database to help me organize battery cells and figure out which are good and bad. I have a table for each make & model’s rated specs, a table with the results for the each battery cell’s capacity test (each test is a record and a battery cell can have multiple tests/records) and a table for each battery cells’ details & summary. In the battery cells detail table I want a field for each battery cell that is populated with the average result of all it’s capacity tests from the capacity tests table. How do I achieve this? P.S. - The value in question from the capacity test table is a number/integer (i.e., 2400).

Knowing how to represent the relationships between different groups of objects can ... I’m stuck on the following step in the photo: I can create the first two tables (students and classes). In the bottom pic, they have created a 3rd table. It has got a list of the students and classes. In particular, I cannot find a field with the Icon show for both students and classes is different in the bottom pic I have tried to do this using the “Link to Another record” feature, but my version creates 2 columns each time (see pic below) I use link to another record. Additionally the icons are different to the one shown in the example. Thanks very much Amit

There are 2 fields: the time of the last modification of the line and just a number. (last_modified_time and time) How do I create a formula for the “result” field to add the minutes from the last_modified_time field and the number from the “time” field? That is, the example should get: 38 + 100 = 138 (the field “result” should be 138) (101 is there for an example, do not pay attention. Instead it should be 138)

Hello, I’ve been working with a script for a while to import some CSVs. The purpose of doing this is to cleanse some of the data prior to importing it and adding more controls around how these files are uploaded verses using the CSV import block which we can’t control as well. A question I had was, that when I try to import one of my files that contains a 16 digit tracking number, it comes in formatted as scientific notation and loses any data beyond where it is summarized. I understand that this is often regarded as an Excel issue, and there are workaround within Excel, but when I try those workarounds, save the file, and try to import it, I still get scientific notation formatted numbers. I was wondering if anyone had a potential solution to this or if anyone has run into similar issues. My current solve would be mapping where we currently get our data from, to an Excel file, and using the scripting import on an .xlsx file type instead but we would really prefer to have them stay in

Hello, please dont be too harsh with me I am starting with this and have a simple question I cannot solve by myself though trying different combinations of formulas. I have 3 fields : possibleloan1, possibleloan2, loanoutput. I want a formula that defines loanoutput. Loanoutput is possibleloan1 if possibleloan1 is greater or equal possibleloan1. if possibleloan1 is minor possibleloan2 , loanoutput should be possibleloan2. I tried for loanoutput: IF(possibleloan1 > possibleloan2, TRUE(possibleloan1), FALSE(possibleloan2)) Do you know what I did wrong? Airtable is not accepting the formula itself though I wrote it in accordance to the guidelines. Thanks in advance!

I have a table with 8,000+ records that include email addresses (source table). I have a list of 200~ e-mail addresses being updated manually (table 2). I would like to create a grid view in the source table that filters to only include the list of 200 e-mail addresses, without having to manually search for each or create a filter. The end result being that my source table has a column that indicates if the record’s email exists in Table 2, and I could create the grid view based on this. Anyone know if a script exists for this? Hello, I’ve posted a related discussion to this one, wondering if there was any way, through the scripting block, I could break out numbers that were in scientific notation into long strings from .csv files that I was importing. Unfortunately, none of my potential solutions worked out. I’ve started trying to figure out at what point these files get converted to scientific notation. When I view the .csv as text, I can see the long numbers as I would expect them to be uploaded. But when I upload the file via the scripting block, they are formatted in scientific notation. This is starting to make me think that the parsedContents function takes some liberties with the data and converting it. While it is tremendously helpful for a lot of my purposes this is a roadblock I’m not sure how to get passed yet. My question would be whether or not there is a way to prevent the automatic file parsing in the scripting block from changing my fields and data? If there were some way that the file could

Hey, Im looking for a way to link multiple tables to one record. I want to be able to assigng sub tasks in 1 record in master table ( I have many tables) from different tables so person whos reposnsible for the project could quickly see where we are failing.

Is it possible to create a formula that sums values in other rows based on a filter with the current row’s other column value? For example, let’s say I have 3 columns: Topic (Primary Field) Owner: Person object (other table) or email address Score: Integer field I want to calculate the sum of all Score fields where the Owner is the same. From a table perspective, I was thinking about adding another column with a function like the following: SELECT SUM(Score) WHERE Owner = this.Owner This will result in the same value for all rows where Owner is the same, but I’m okay with that. What’s the best way to accomplish something like this?
