Long topic title… sorry. I have a table of employees that are linked to various other tables. At times, duplicate entries have been created in error or linked records attributed to the wrong person. Is there a way, from within the employee table, to take all records from one linked field and paste them into another employee record, without overwriting what is there? For example: Julie Smith is duplicated in error. There is a table called clients. Julie Smith (record 1) has 50 linked client records. Julie Smith (record 2) has 20 linked client records. I want to move the client records from Julie Smith (record 2) into Julie Smith (record 1). If I cut and paste the 20 records, it overwrites the existing 50 records. This is true for 5 other linked tables across several records. I can change the name of Julie Smith (record 2) to “Fix Julie Smith” and then paste over every record in the 5 linked tables. I need a simple formula for working out a suburb and it puts out a selected output. eg: if the suburb gorokan or toukley is in the field, the formula puts in KPM1. IF the suburb is hamlyn terrace it puts in KPM2 etc etc This will apply to 5 different outputs ( KPM1 KPM2 KPM 3 KPM4 LM1) based on the suburb. IF({Suburb}=“gorokan”, “KPM1”) This formula works great for the single suburb but I cant get it to output KPM1 if I put multiple suburbs in there I know it will be nested IF formulas but I just cant get this first one to work as expected. It will be simple im sure! lol

When I export as a CSV some of the data shows with a few random & unwanted quotes around the company name. The example here is Venoco, Inc… Within the contact entry none of the editable fields have quotes in them. I cannot find a way to edit these out besides editing the CSV once exported. Why does it show in the Donation column with “Quotes”? How can I remove them?! 30%20PM|567x499

I’m trying to update the duration fields via standard hh:mm:ss and my updates are failing. By no means an expert here so forgive my ignorance as the API documentation isn’t telling me much. What type of number should I be using in order for this to work? Should I be converting time to a UNIX timestamp or something else? Thanks in advance!

Hi all, Right now, I have one base with three tables. Table 1, Column 1: Person’s name Table 1, Column 2: Ability I was able to link Ability and and Name in Table 2 and came out with Table 2, Column 1: Ability Table 2, Column 2: All people that have the ability in Column 1 Now, I would like to rank each individual’s ability on a rating system from 1-5. There doesn’t seem to be able to transfer data from the other tables in order to individually rank each skill a person has. I’ve tried grouping by abilities in Table 1, but that just gives me multiple skills within a group instead of individual. For example: Ashleigh is has skills in knitting and gardening. Her knitting skill is a 3, her gardening is a 5. Ryan also has skills in gardening but also in martial arts. Their gardening skill is a 2, their martial arts at a 4. I enter both their name and talents in Table 1, Column 1 and 2 respectively and then link Abilities to Table 2. I can now see that both Ryan and Ashleigh have skills in g

I have {Date} in one column and am trying to list the corresponding day of the week in another column using the following formula: DATETIME_FORMAT({Date}, “dddd”) For most of my records, the correct day of the week is returned. However, I have at least one record that is returning the wrong date. December 7, 2019 is a Saturday according the the calendar but AirTable is calculating the day of the week as Sunday. Very strange. Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, We are doing a survey through an AirTable form but we need to display the content both in English and in French. Everything works just fine until we have long text options to a multiple/single select field, that are in both languages, and we need it to display the whole text. For example: As you can see, we can’t see half of the text for each option. Is there a way to display the full text? Thank you very much!

Hi Folks, I just heard of Airtable today, and I’m looking to see if it would be easier to use for me for an Access Family History project for personal use. I want to create a Formula field that simplifies surnames beginning with “Mac” & “Mc” to create a “Sort Surname” field where all “Mac” surnames become “Mc” surnames. Then they will sort together, since the two versions are often mis-spelled even for the same person. I have created a formula using my Surname field as follows (I used 300 for the mid command as I do not know the length of the surname field. Putting it this high should avoid errors) IF(LEFT(Surname,3,“Mac”),“Mc”& MID(Surname,4,300),Surname) It works perfectly for MacGillivray, Mackintosh, Macdonald etc, but it is not working for every non “Mac” surname. For example, it is turning Lumsden into Mcsden. What am I doing wrong so that the Logical test is not working. I had it working perfectly in Access. Thanks

Just started using Airtable, seemed perfect for my use. Spent the morning importing some CSV tables, making some forms and views and a couple of Kanbans. Great. Except now it’s unusable all of a sudden. It can take several minutes to switch views. Sometimes it’s then come up with a an error like “File not found” or “resource unavailable”. I really liked what I saw but it seems very flakey and unreliable. Is this normal? There’s only about 350 records in my Base, so I can’t imagine I am at all taxing the technology.

Hi everyone! I am having a hard time with some formulas due type of cells and blank cells. Hope you can help me. This is the Nested IF I wrote: IF( Cuota=PagoEnero, “Pagado”,IF(PagoEnero=BLANK(),“No” , IF(PagoEnero=0,Cuota-PagoEnero ,IF(Cuota-PagoEnero>0, Cuota-PagoEnero)))) The formula returns the same result if the cell is blank or is =0. I think this is because the statement will always be true in the second one but i dont know how to fix it My second issue is that, I do the same formula multiple times (Enero, Febrero…) and i need to summarize only the results that returns a number (not text) and make a sum For example: Enero=0, Febrero=No, Marzo= , … Returns: Enero CONCATENATE(IF(Enero=BLANK(), “”, IF(Enero=0, “Enero”, IF(Enero>0, “Pagado”))),IF(Febrero>0,"",“Febrero”)…and so on) I think due the column “Enero” is a formula does not recognize the result as a number, this is not working. This works one row at a time. Would love to be able to do this to multiple records. I need to copy several rows that include one column that is a reference the RECORD_ID() for a given table and another cell that has one or more linked records from another table. The new table has a linked column to the table referenced in the RECORD_ID() above and a column that references the same linked field. Again, if I create a record and paste into it, it works great. The Record_ID reference connects to the original table we are pulling data from. Also, if I create 5 rows (as a for instance), I can paste 5 rows I copy from the original table. QUESTION: Is there any way to copy 40 rows of these two fields and paste them into the other table without first creating the rows in question as blank records? Basically, a paste/append. I hope this makes sense. Thanks for any insight.

Hi friends, I’m hoping someone can help troubleshoot why a conditional rollup is returning a zero “0” value. Table 1 has a list of vehicles. Table 2 records all certification renewals. There’s about a dozen different certifications required per vehicle, with varying expiry dates. I have a linked field in Table 2 connecting each certification expiry with a specific vehicle in Table 1. I have a helper column in Table 2 that filters the date for a specific certification type. I’m trying to run a Conditional Rollup in Table 1, that returns the MAX(values) from the helper column in Table 2. But it’s returning a zero “0” figure. Any pointers would be appreciated. :winking_face:

Hello Airtablers, I need to automate links between a table full of User records, including a unique user ID field, and a table full of Invoice records, each Invoice also includes a user ID field. New Invoice records get created more frequently than User records. For each new Invoice record that gets written to my Invoices table, I want Airtable to recognise the User ID and use this to auto-link to the corresponding User. A single User will have multiple Invoices, and each Invoice uniquely belongs to a single user. I need to be able to open a User record and have access to all the invoices that correspond to that user, and perform rollup calcs etc on the various fields in the Invoice records. I can do all this by manually linking each new Invoice record to a User record, but have not figured out how to automate this.

Hi, Quick question, can’t seem to see it in documentation. If I have a base, on a Pro account, and I want to invite a collaborator, that also has a pro account, do I have to pay for them to collaborate too? Cheers Jason

How can I create a “What’s New” view similar to Airtable’s "What’s New page? I tried to do it using a Record List but don’t see how it can be embedded and the Grid does not support the same formatting or popup functionality. Didn’t see any examples in any of the Forum posts. Hi all, I am trying to create a weighted pipeline in one of my bases and getting stuck on the formulas. I have a single select field Opportunity Status and I’ve created a nested IF formula to return a value based on each status: IF({Opportunity Status}=“Committed”,“1”,IF({Opportunity Status}=“Convincing”,".8",IF({Opportunity Status}=“Cultivating”,".4",IF({Opportunity Status}=“Engaging”,".1",IF({Opportunity Status}=“Received in Full”,“1”,IF({Opportunity Status}=“Received in Part”,“1”,“0”)))))) The formula itself works, but it’s not recognizing the values as numbers and the format option won’t let me change it. I need the field to be recognized as numbers so that I can make a second formula field that multiplies the Opportunity Amount by the result returned by the first field to show the weighted value (e.g., $100,000 at Opportunity Stage=Convincing should be multiplied by .8 and return $80,000.) Does anyone know how to do this or another work around?

Hi, Hope someone can help. My head is bursting. I have created a childcare system in Airtable. Everything was based on hourly costs so all calculations from payments were easy, number of hrs * hourly rate. I’m now told that there is a monthly deduction. Other than using grouping to show monthly costs, I have no way of adding “Monthly” as everything is a rolling total of hrs How can I do this ? is it possible to modify the SUM on the grouping to add field ? Any help appreciated Jason

I have a table where we have products defined something like: Product name | Client | Other product info In another table, we have the columns: Products selected | Client You select multiple products for Products selected and the Client column is a lookup. However, the same client shows up multiple times in the Client field if more than one of their products is selected. Is there a way to show any given client a single time in the Client field? I had hoped that using a new field, Client unique with the ARRAYUNIQUE function would do it. But ARRAYUNIQUE only seems to work on numeric arrays. Any idea how to accomplish this? Thanks.

I have 2 tables: Table 1 is a list of every country in the world Table 2 is every possible 3 letter combination of the English alphabet (all 3 character strings) My goal is to see how many countries contain each 3-letter string. I linked each of the 3-letter strings to every country, then performed an ARRAYJOIN(): UPPER(ARRAYJOIN(Countries)) Then I used FIND() to find all occurances of the Permutation in the Array: FIND(Permutation,{Country Array}) The FIND field is returning way more results than expected. For example, for the Permutation “ABO” is returning 722 results. It should be returning 1 results for GABON Can Airtable do this? https://airtable.com/shrElPYYr5XW1Y0i2
