Hi there! I’m working in two tables: Contacts and Interactions. The latter keeps records of all emails to and from Contacts (linked), including time/date and a single select field to indicate whether the email was inbound or outbound. I also have simple formula fields – IF(Type=‘To Contact’, Date, ‘0’) and IF(Type=‘From Contact’, Date, ‘0’) – because I’m trying to create respective rollup fields in the Contacts table to show the date of the most recent inbound email and the most recent outbound email. I can’t get my rollup to display any dates. MAX(values) displays zeros. Using ARRAYJOIN and then using DATETIME_PARSE(MAX({arrayjoinfield})) displays 1/1/1970. Is there anything I can add to the Interactions formulas so that the dates are read as values? Or is there a different function you can recommend for the rollups? I’m really scratching my head here.

Hello, I am brand new to Airtable and need help creating a formula. The formula works perfectly in Excel/Numbers, but my knowledge of formulas is proven to be insufficient and I can’t figure out how to do it in Airtable. Maybe it doesn’t have the capabilities to do what I want? Here’s the formula I use in Excel/Numbers and the ‘field names’ should transfer over because I’ve created fields in Airtable for each. See values below: “PPW” is a number field “kW” is a number field “25yr” is a checkbox field with a value of 23.5% “20yr” is a checkbox field with a value of 22.5% FORMULA: PPW * kW * 25yr * kW * 1000, PPW * kW * 20yr * kW * 1000 The 20yr and 25yr are checkboxes, and each deal will change depending on what the client chooses. So I want to be able to type in the PPW > kW amount > select a checkbox and have it automatically calculate the amount. Hi All, Trying to fix a goof in our Airtable. Backstory: We programmed a certain formula to add in the year a record was created into the record name(i.e. 2019 =19). We pre made some of these records in December, and now need to duplicate the records and have all the duplicated records keep the same name. I hope you all have realized the problem with this… If you haven’t all new records now automatically signify it’s 2020 and no longer 2019. My family business makes baskets. Each basket is numbered and with that number we track multiple things such as date it was made, type of wood used, basket size/style, and inlay style. I created a form to make it easy to enter all that info and numerous other tracking features, however, the one thing I can’t seem to figure out (and maybe its not possible?) is how to get a list of say the 10 most popular baskets for a year… we have about 25 different basket styles, 10 different wood species, and 5 different inlays… I can easily see what was the most popular basket style or wood species but I would like to have a list of each individual style… (not sure if I am making sense?) As an example: we make a napkin basket and a condiment basket and we use both cherry and walnut wood species. So let’s say we made 10 cherry napkin baskets, 2 walnut napkin baskets, 7 cherry condiment baskets, and 3 walnut condiment baskets. Hi! I have a Long text field that has 1-52 lines. Each line starts with either [ ] or [ x ] and is then followed by 10 digits (at present). How would I “magically” disapear all lines starting with [ x ] using a formula? Is there a way to "disapear " a whole line from [ x ] to \n without knowing the amount of caracters inbetween? That would be ideal if possible. I need to “disapear” lines from top to bottom (first line 1, then line 2, then line 3 and so on…) and not at random through the entire field if that makes any difference. I have tried various “solutions”, but haven’t found what I need. I’m probably nesting/combining it incorrectly and by now I’ve stared myself blind at the problem trying to get it right. I would greatly appreciate any and all help I could get.

Hi all. I have a filterbyformula where I am using an OR statement to get Record_IDs. It seems that on IE I have maxed out there rule of no more then 2000 characters in a Get URL. This seems to be happening to me. I am using the javascript and not curl. Any thoughts on how to get around this? If I call 50 people from the database using the OR statement I am screwed with each person needing roughly 40 characters… Thanks Jon

Hey all, I’m tracking scores of sports events. The main fields are “Home Score” (for how much the home team scored) and “Away Score” (you guessed it…) In soccer matches it’s common for a team to score nothing. i.e. “0”. I’m calculating: IF(AND({Home Score}, {Away Score}), IF({Home Score} = {Away Score}, “Draw”, IF({Home Score} > {Away Score}, {Home Team}, {Away Team}))) The issue is, if I input “0” Airtable ignores it. it’s a blank for calculating consideration. So, field {winning team} remains empty. The workaround is to input a “1” score in case of actual “0” and to give the other team a +1 on their actual score. i.e. if a game’s score is actually 0:1 I’d input it as 1:2 . Is there a way around it? I want to preserve the information integrity. Thanks.

Hey Guys, I’ve had this issue before, and was able to solve it. For some reason, it doesn’t work now. We’re betting on score difference, so: IF({Home Score}>{Away Score},{Home Score}-{Away Score},{Away Score}-{Home Score}) If the game hasn’t played yet, the {Home Score} & {Away Score} are empty, which results in ‘0’ So, I’ve tried checking if the records are empty or not. IF(AND({Home Score},{Away Score}), IF({Home Score}>{Away Score},{Home Score}-{Away Score},{Away Score}-{Home Score}) But I keep getting an error, that my syntax is wrong. After the above I’m running this: IF({Points Difference Bet}={Actual Points Difference},“Bingo!”,IF({Actual Points Difference}-{Points Difference Bet}<=5,“Very Close”, “Way Off”)) But the points difference can actually be higher than 5, but I’d still get “Very Close” Please help. I’m trying to write a formula that would find multiple parts of text (from a single cell) into a short formatted text (in a cell). Example: From “Nothing, we are a turn-key service, from site prep, permits, to completion” to “turn-key” From “The client has some responsibility like permits, site-prep, and transportation” to “door-step” From “We just send the kit of parts and the client takes care of the majority of work” to “kit-of-parts” From “We offer just the drawings / floor plan in addition or exclusively as a service” to “floorplan-only” I was able to get it to pull just one text but not multiple.

Hi, I have a table that connects pairwise my data in a kind of graph structure. Is it possible to implement a (recursive or not) depth-first search algorithm that will filter the connected records only for a given cell value?

I need to record weight data for observations that have different levels of precision because they span a wide range and must be measured on different scales. Is there a way to allow for differing levels of decimal precision across entries in a single “Numbers” field? For instance, to enter 4 sample measurements of: 3, 3.0, 3.02, and 3.020, Airtable makes me select a single level of decimal precision for all of the entries, so it ends up showing as something like: 3.000, 3.000, 3.020, 3.020 or 3, 3, 3, 3 or etc etc… You get the idea. In any case, the resulting entries do not accurately reflect the actual data. As far as I can tell, if I want to use this field for formula-based calculations, I must designate it a ‘numbers field’ and therefore must choose a single level of decimal precision for all of the entries. Is there a way to get around this without misrepresenting my data precision and without creating separate weight fields for each level of decimal precision? Thanks for the adv

Hey, I’m trying to calculate points difference. So, if the points difference <= 5 then I’ll give the player 2 ranking points. if the difference is great than that, he doesn’t get any points. I’ve noticed that Airtable doesn’t treat 5 and -5 the same. So, I’ve made two fields. Here’s my formula: IF(AND({Team Bet}=“Win”), IF(AND({Home Score},{Away Score}), IF({Points Difference Bet}={Actual Points Difference},“3”,IF(OR({Actual Diff - Diff Bet}<=5,{Diff bet - Actual Diff}<=5,“2”,“0”))))) But, I get nothing. Can anyone spot my mistake? Please help.

Can I share a calendar as read only which I create as a pro user sharing with a free user or / and someone who has not even signed up to airtable without paying for an additional user.

Does ‘create a shareable grid view link’ count as another user?

Hi All, On my PC I have observed the following behaviour. We I want to creat a new record I can either a. click on the ±sign, b. right mouse click and choose for Insert record. Use All well However: When I click (accidently) on any field below the last record automatically a new blank record is created with a new line number Clinking in any field below the last genuie record New blank record is created By user errors a lot of blank and meaningless records arethus created. At the end of the day I have to remove them manually Is there a way to prevent thsi from happing? Mabe this is a Windows setting, so I can controle it? I get the right values for HOME / AWAY & DRAW. the problem is with future games, where the “score” cells are still empty, I get “Draw”. technically it’s true, but I’d like to leave the cell empty or insert a placeholder text instead. Hey All, I use CSV import to update case management files and import new ones from a separate system operated by a partner of ours. CSV importer is mostly working but is identifying a lot of records as new when they should be updated instead. They are matching on a unique code generated externally from airtable. This is problematic because the cases are associated with different programs and that history is spread out when a duplicate record is being created rather than updating the original. I’ve checked it by comparing October and November reports in excel. Working through excel (comparing unique codes), there are only about 60 new records out of 3500, while CSV importer is saying that there are over 350 new records. Has anyone else run into this issue? I’m encoding UTF-8. Edit: I’ve tried to slim the import down to just the records that have updates or are new, CSV importer is still saying 10 additional records are new that are not.

Quick question, I use an “interactions” table to record every interaction I have with my clients and enter notes into a long text field where it may look something like this: spoke with Mr. Smith, reviewed accounts in full client happy with progress of accounts agreed to meet again in 6 months So the above is stored in the Long Text field. Should for whatever reason I have to leave Airtable or it shuts down and I export this data, will other CRM software import the long text field with the same formatting/text if I export to a CSV? I just want to ensure I future proof this, especially since I’m now going through the painstaking task of having to re-enter all my notes from another program I had been using up until now. Thanks

USING API TO CREATE WP SITE. Hi all. So I have rows of data and a column in the row is Attachments. It is just as it sounds, an uploaded document. My code to generate the URL into content on the page is: f=String(record.get(“Application Name”)); l=record.get(“Attachments”); container+="<a href=’"+l[0][‘url’]+"’ target=’_blank’>"+f+""; The resulting URL is below: Aviation Workers Comp Instructions When this URL appears out on the page and I click on it, I get an error that says “http://dnserrorassist.att.net/search/?q=http%3A//ar.ecologik.netnull/&r=http%3A//ar.ecologik.net/applications/&bc=” NOW, if I right mouse click on any of the links and have it open in a new window the docs load just fine. I notice that there is a null being thrown in the error message. Where is that coming from? I am at a lost on this one!

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting new 404 errors on API calls that used to work perfectly every time. The API calls run every 5 minutes or so, and 90% of the time it works great, but now 10% of the time I’m getting back an error that says the table cannot be found. This is crazy as the table remains and in just a few seconds/minutes when the next webhook runs it will find the table and run correctly. These 404s are causing significant problems, especially when I’m testing for a record and I get back a 404 my script thinks the record does not exist… but that’s not true. In my oponion this should be more of a 500 level server error. Here’s the calls I’m making and the errors I’m receiving: (yes these are from Zapier, and yes I had to spoof the user-agent to make it work) I’m calling https://api.airtable.com/v0/appU29NNGxB8qigRN/Main%20Table I get a 404, “We made a request to api.airtable.com and received (404) Not Found.” Specifically saying: “Could not find table Main Tab

Hello, I’ve read the community forum for a while and wondered if people had any thoughts on triggering a renewal in a structured way. We have a table for DOMAINS and as we handle a renew, we want to add +2 YEARS to the domain’s expiry. I’d want to record the LAST UPDATED (only to be done on renewals, not other fields) and add the 2 years on the EXPIRY. I’m keen to automate, as I might look to raise the invoice automatically in time. Some people seemed to use CHECKBOX to then tripper a Zappier Zap. Has anyone done much with that route? Or any other thoughts or general routes I can research? Thanks in advance.

First of all, I apologize for bad english, that’s not my native language! So, i’ve created a single selection colum named “status”, what i want to know is if there’s a way to send a notification (email ou anything that is not Airtable’s notification - the bell icon) when i change the “status” to a specifc option. I’ve looked on Zapier and i saw that it can integrate with Gmail but the email will be sent when i create a record, i know there’s a way to use Slack but i didn’t dug into it yet. Any thoughs?
