Hi, I have a table that connects pairwise my data in a kind of graph structure. Is it possible to implement a (recursive or not) depth-first search algorithm that will filter the connected records only for a given cell value?

I need to record weight data for observations that have different levels of precision because they span a wide range and must be measured on different scales. Is there a way to allow for differing levels of decimal precision across entries in a single “Numbers” field? For instance, to enter 4 sample measurements of: 3, 3.0, 3.02, and 3.020, Airtable makes me select a single level of decimal precision for all of the entries, so it ends up showing as something like: 3.000, 3.000, 3.020, 3.020 or 3, 3, 3, 3 or etc etc… You get the idea. In any case, the resulting entries do not accurately reflect the actual data. As far as I can tell, if I want to use this field for formula-based calculations, I must designate it a ‘numbers field’ and therefore must choose a single level of decimal precision for all of the entries. Is there a way to get around this without misrepresenting my data precision and without creating separate weight fields for each level of decimal precision? Thanks for the adv

Hey, I’m trying to calculate points difference. So, if the points difference <= 5 then I’ll give the player 2 ranking points. if the difference is great than that, he doesn’t get any points. I’ve noticed that Airtable doesn’t treat 5 and -5 the same. So, I’ve made two fields. Here’s my formula: IF(AND({Team Bet}=“Win”), IF(AND({Home Score},{Away Score}), IF({Points Difference Bet}={Actual Points Difference},“3”,IF(OR({Actual Diff - Diff Bet}<=5,{Diff bet - Actual Diff}<=5,“2”,“0”))))) But, I get nothing. Can anyone spot my mistake? Please help.

Can I share a calendar as read only which I create as a pro user sharing with a free user or / and someone who has not even signed up to airtable without paying for an additional user.

Does ‘create a shareable grid view link’ count as another user?

Hi All, On my PC I have observed the following behaviour. We I want to creat a new record I can either a. click on the ±sign, b. right mouse click and choose for Insert record. Use All well However: When I click (accidently) on any field below the last record automatically a new blank record is created with a new line number Clinking in any field below the last genuie record New blank record is created By user errors a lot of blank and meaningless records arethus created. At the end of the day I have to remove them manually Is there a way to prevent thsi from happing? Mabe this is a Windows setting, so I can controle it? Hey Guys, Trying to figure out how to leave a cell BLANK. I’m tracking soccer games. Here’s my formula: IF({Home Score} > {Away Score}, {Home Team} & " " & “Wins!!”,IF({Away Score}>{Home Score},{Away Team} & " " & “Wins!”,IF({Home Score}={Away Score},“Draw”))) The first part is ok. I get the right values for HOME / AWAY & DRAW. the problem is with future games, where the “score” cells are still empty, I get “Draw”. technically it’s true, but I’d like to leave the cell empty or insert a placeholder text instead. Hey All, I use CSV import to update case management files and import new ones from a separate system operated by a partner of ours. CSV importer is mostly working but is identifying a lot of records as new when they should be updated instead. They are matching on a unique code generated externally from airtable. This is problematic because the cases are associated with different programs and that history is spread out when a duplicate record is being created rather than updating the original. I’ve checked it by comparing October and November reports in excel. Working through excel (comparing unique codes), there are only about 60 new records out of 3500, while CSV importer is saying that there are over 350 new records. Has anyone else run into this issue? I’m encoding UTF-8. Edit: I’ve tried to slim the import down to just the records that have updates or are new, CSV importer is still saying 10 additional records are new that are not.

Quick question, I use an “interactions” table to record every interaction I have with my clients and enter notes into a long text field where it may look something like this: spoke with Mr. Smith, reviewed accounts in full client happy with progress of accounts agreed to meet again in 6 months So the above is stored in the Long Text field. Should for whatever reason I have to leave Airtable or it shuts down and I export this data, will other CRM software import the long text field with the same formatting/text if I export to a CSV? I just want to ensure I future proof this, especially since I’m now going through the painstaking task of having to re-enter all my notes from another program I had been using up until now. Thanks

USING API TO CREATE WP SITE. Hi all. So I have rows of data and a column in the row is Attachments. It is just as it sounds, an uploaded document. My code to generate the URL into content on the page is: f=String(record.get(“Application Name”)); l=record.get(“Attachments”); container+="<a href=’"+l[0][‘url’]+"’ target=’_blank’>"+f+""; The resulting URL is below: Aviation Workers Comp Instructions When this URL appears out on the page and I click on it, I get an error that says “http://dnserrorassist.att.net/search/?q=http%3A//ar.ecologik.netnull/&r=http%3A//ar.ecologik.net/applications/&bc=” NOW, if I right mouse click on any of the links and have it open in a new window the docs load just fine. I notice that there is a null being thrown in the error message. Where is that coming from? I am at a lost on this one!

For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been getting new 404 errors on API calls that used to work perfectly every time. The API calls run every 5 minutes or so, and 90% of the time it works great, but now 10% of the time I’m getting back an error that says the table cannot be found. This is crazy as the table remains and in just a few seconds/minutes when the next webhook runs it will find the table and run correctly. These 404s are causing significant problems, especially when I’m testing for a record and I get back a 404 my script thinks the record does not exist… but that’s not true. In my oponion this should be more of a 500 level server error. Here’s the calls I’m making and the errors I’m receiving: (yes these are from Zapier, and yes I had to spoof the user-agent to make it work) I’m calling https://api.airtable.com/v0/appU29NNGxB8qigRN/Main%20Table I get a 404, “We made a request to api.airtable.com and received (404) Not Found.” Specifically saying: “Could not find table Main Tab

Good morning, my manager would like to a have monitor on his wall displaying information generated by the database such as totals etc and other data created through the use of formula’s. Hello, I’ve read the community forum for a while and wondered if people had any thoughts on triggering a renewal in a structured way. We have a table for DOMAINS and as we handle a renew, we want to add +2 YEARS to the domain’s expiry. I’d want to record the LAST UPDATED (only to be done on renewals, not other fields) and add the 2 years on the EXPIRY. I’m keen to automate, as I might look to raise the invoice automatically in time. Some people seemed to use CHECKBOX to then tripper a Zappier Zap. Has anyone done much with that route? Or any other thoughts or general routes I can research? Thanks in advance.

First of all, I apologize for bad english, that’s not my native language! So, i’ve created a single selection colum named “status”, what i want to know is if there’s a way to send a notification (email ou anything that is not Airtable’s notification - the bell icon) when i change the “status” to a specifc option. I’ve looked on Zapier and i saw that it can integrate with Gmail but the email will be sent when i create a record, i know there’s a way to use Slack but i didn’t dug into it yet. Any thoughs? Hi guys! I’m very new to Airtable and so far I’m loving it! However, I’m having an issue with formula’s. I have a feeling I’m on the right track, just not quite getting it. I have a table called Schools. This table contains all the data relating to each school such as school name, email, phone, pupil total etc. I have created a field called Beds Total Schools with a formula stating County=“Bedfordshire”. This then populates that field with 1 if the record has Bedfordshire in it’s County field. I can then use this to create a Summary count in my Dashboard called Total Bedfordshire Schools. I can do this for any other county too. The issue I’m having is as follows. I want to create a field that counts the record’s Pupil Total field IF the County field says “Bedfordshire”. I’m sure it’s something like COUNT {Pupil Total} IF {County}=“Bedfordshire”. I can then create a summary from the new field called something like {Total Beds Pupils}. I have afield with inventory numbers. There numbers start with a bin letter designator and then a number. ex, A2, G22, AA15, AB21 I was using the LEFT function to grab the First character to identify the bin letter, but now that I have grown and now have bins AA, AG, etc. How to I have have Airtable grab just the letters out of the field or grab two letters is the inventory has one? Hi. I’m new to Airtable and trying to find a formula that will count the number of spaces in a string. For example, when this formula is applied to the string “How are you doing?”, I want the formula to return 3. I tried using the FIND function, but all that does is to find the position of the first instance of, say, a space in this example. I’m looking for a formula to count the number of spaces. Thank you.

I’m setting up a base to among other things track articles aligned with specific research topics. The end goal is a record of articles/papers/research already reviewed and deemed relevant. Two tables: Reading log: web-clipped articles with four views; “Articles – Read and relevant” relates to my question. My research topics: If working correctly, only articles that are both read and relevant should appear here. The “Related reading” field is linked to “Reading log” with view limited to “Articles – Read and relevant.” Problems I’m encountering: For Topic A: A linked record appears even though not read and no selection made for relevant yes/no field. For Topic B: An article that was read but marked not relevant (“Research suggests the blue economy could bolster global food security”) is still appearing as a linked record. I need to find the number of days an agent is active. Currently, I have 3 columns “Start Date”, “End Date”, and “Days Active” and my formula in my Days Active column is: DATETIME_DIFF({End Date},{Start Date},‘days’) Some agents are still active and do not have an “end date” and I get an error message in the Days Active Column. How do I enhance my formula to replace null values in the End Date column with today’s date?

I have a Base with the following tables: People, Contact History. In Contact History I am logging all conversations with the people from the first table and many times there are multiple records in Contact History for every person in the People table. I am trying to show in the People table just the notes from the most recent contact with that person. As I understand it, I can’t use a rollup field to do this because it’s a string. Any advice pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

I have three tables: one table that lists All Contacts which contains over 100 records, the second table called “Leadership Board” has 15 records, and the third table “Conference Speakers” has 35 records. I want to link the contacts in such a way that if a record in All Contacts is updated, the corresponding record will be updated in the other table. Obviously, the other two tables don’t contain all the records that All Contacts contains, and I want to keep it that way. When I attempt to link the tables, all the records from All Contacts are added to “Leadership Board” and “Conference Speakers”. If someone could please help me with this dilemma, I’d be very grateful.
