Hi! I am trying to create monthly columns that tell me if a staff worked the entire month, a portion of month or not at all. For example… staff 1 starts 9/8- 11/12 - my formula would show staff 1 worked 73% of the month. Same if staff 2 starts 8/31-9-1…would work 3% of september. I have it almost working…but issue with start date on the first of the month. Any ideas? Thanks! I’m trying to get a formula that allows we the take the total of numbers in the linked filed to be summed together For example Total Amount, Amounts used, Total Amount used, Currently in Stock 10 1,4,5 10 0 Idk if this makes any sense at all i just have a list of items in one table with all their information in another table any time i use the item i track the date and the amount used I would like my stock table Currently in Stock number to be able to subtract the total amount used since i may use a product multiple times in different areas or times My Total Amount is to help me track the amount i started to help know if we should get less or more incrase our amount

Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible to configure a form to auto-complete different fields when accessing it from a URL. The documentation for forms does not seem to mention any of this, and I think this would be a great feature to enhance our workflow. In my case, a Slack bot automatically posts player reports for my game, and a in-line link button is generated on the message so that I can add a “Ban” record if the report is valid. Right now, the administrator has to fill a few fields that would otherwise already be specified in the message. I believe adding parameters to a URL would make the implementation and usage of this possible feature very intuitive, like the following example: airtable(dot)com/MY_FORM_ID?MY_FIELD_NAME=MY_FIELD_VALUE

Hello, I’ve been tinkering with this idea but I’m stuck. I have a form with a Multiple Select field. Each option of this Multiple Select is the name of an activity. When the form is submitted, I’d like the table to add a value (I’m calling this “points”) according to the activity selected. So if Activity 1 was selected and the form submitted, 10 points are added to a field in the table. If Activity 2 was selected, it’s 8 points, and so on. Anyone have an idea how to make this? I have one table of people, and another with records of their visits. In the people table, I am trying to add a field that will tell me the date of the earliest visit… after 9/30/2016. I tried adding a formula field in the visits table to return the date of the visit only if it is after 9/30/16, but I have no idea how to build a specific date into the formula. I really don’t want to add another field to the table that will force me to add “9/30/16” to every single visit record just so I can do an IS_AFTER formula with two date fields. (Which reminds me, why don’t default values you set for certain fields show up when you add new records in the mobile app? Real bummer. But I digress.) IF(IS_AFTER(DATE,9/30/16),DATETIME_FORMAT(DATE,‘MM/DD/YYYY’),"") returns #ERROR everywhere. I am really hoping my format “9/30/16” is the problem, but I have tried other variations with no success. I have an Event Check-In form that allows people to add an Event, which draws from the Event table. EVENT CHECK-IN GRID EVENT GRID EVENT CHECK-IN FORM While we only have two events right now, I can imagine this form getting very difficult to use when we have more and more events. Is there some way to limit which linked records the form can link to based on a parameter like date of the event?

Without going to Google sheets, how can I format an imported date/time from 2019-09-06 7:52 PM in the formula field to 9/06/2019 7:52 PM? Everything I’ve found just sets everything past 12pm to 12:00 AM. Also, is there something I’m missing using the regular date/time field? This doesn’t seem like a big stretch, but when I change the field type it just clears everything. Thanks!

Hi everyone ! I’ll try to explain my problem as clearly as I can… I am using Airtable for research purposes, for my PhD in archaeology. I produced a table for the objects of my corpus, and another one for my bibliography. In my objects table, I created for each object a field “bibliography”, in which I can enter links to records of my bibliography table. At this point, no problem in doing so. What I would like to do, is add a comment or a precision to this link : page and catalogue number that relate to my object. But I don’t know if it s possible… Any idea ? Hope this is clear, it’s not easy to explain, especially since English is not my native language… Thanks a lot !!

I have been setting up Airtable for the records of our large chorale singing group about 6 months. A lot is great, but there are still some things I am trying to figure out. I have a Members table in which the primary field is the member name. Among a number of other tables, I one called Ticket Sales to track the number of tickets sold by each member. I set up the link from Ticket Sales to Members and successfully created the Lookup so that I can bring in the Member Name to Ticket Sales. However, I also want to bring in the Active Status information for each member, which is a field in the the Members table (people who are on leave aren’t assigned tickets for an upcoming concert). But even though in the Lookup field I choose the Member table, and Active Status field, nothing is returned. What am I doing wrong?

I am trying to make a grocery list that would take the price of an item ($0.88) and multiply it by the quantity needed (2) so that it outputs the total amount ($1.76) I have tried the formula Price * Quantity which hasn’t worked. I’m trying to create a formula where my Primary Field is a number that I need to pull from a URL link: Currently, I am using the formula RIGHT() to tell the formula to find the last three characters from the right of the URL link, which won’t work once we get to 4 digits, or if for some reason the URL structure changes adding an extra character at the end. Is there a way to find only a number from a URL and return it as such? Thank you.

I have a table “Ethnicity”. For the purpose of this post, I’ll use Asian ethnicities as an example, but my Ethnicity table will also include ethnicities of other racial groups. On this table are entries like “Asian Indian”, “Bangladeshi”, “Bhutanese”, “Taiwanese”, “Chinese”, etc. I have another table “Contacts” which contains a column that links to Ethnicity. Each record in Contacts can be linked to multiple ethnicities. I now want a column that marks whether a record’s ethnicities fall under larger racial groups. For example, if the record is linked to “Taiwanese” or “Chinese” or both, I want the record to be marked “Yes” under the column, “Asian” What’s the best way to accomplish this?

Hello! I need some help of this community because I lack the knowledge to develop formulas. I trying to create an automated financial system using some linked tables inside a base. I have expenses categorized in a field with the options ‘‘Credit’’ and ‘‘Debit’’, which I use to separate the payment methods. The expenses also have a ‘‘Date’’ field and a ‘‘Cost’’ field. I want to create a field using a formula that brings me the data from the ‘‘Cost’’ field if the expense is payed in ‘‘Credit’’ within a specific month (actual month) in order to separate this values so I can link them to another table and use a simple SUM formula to calculate my total expenses in Credit for the actual month. So its something like: If method of payment = Credit, If date = actual month, ‘‘cost’’ I know I could simply use a filter view to see only ‘‘Credit’’ records, but as the data will be linked to another table for other operations, I cant. I would be extremely grateful if you could help me in this!

Hey all, I am relatively new to using Airtable and I need some help getting these two formulas to work together (they work fine on their own) in 1 field so I can keep track of shipping dates based on 2 conditions. My ultimate ship date needs to always return the Saturday date 3 weeks after the original date {RFP Request Date}. If there is no attachment in {RFP Print} and no date in {RFP Request Date}, I want it to show a blank cell. If one of those cells is filled in, then I don’t mind it returning an #ERROR! . Also how do you remove the time stamp for the formula since I do not need it? Hello, I have a question. I have a table for sales and inventory. I’m creating kind of a master page that keeps track of number by each month. I have columns that Rollup the ‘Amount Spent’ and the ‘Amount Made’. I’m just trying to create another Rollup column that calculates the Profit/Loss by subtracting the total amount spent from the amount made. Is this possible? Each row has data for a specific month. Hopefully i’m explaining it correctly! Thanks in advance

I regularly pull reports from multiple systems that include product IDs. These IDs are always a series of letters followed by numbers (e.g., ABC 123, WXYZ 9876). The number of letters can vary between 3 and 6 characters and the same goes for the numbers. The problem I’m having is that in one system, there is no space within the ID (e.g., ABC123) while in the other system, there is always a space between the letters and numbers (e.g., ABC 123). Since the number of characters can vary, I’m having trouble finding a formula that basically looks at the cell and adds a space when it finds a number. Any help is appreciated! Update: If it helps, this formula is what does what I’m looking for in Excel =TRIM(REPLACE(A2,MIN(FIND({1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0},A2&“1234567890”)),0," ")) TRIM, REPLACE, and FIND all exist in Airtable but I’m not sure how to use FIND to search for any combination of items (e.g., 1 OR 2 OR 3…) like you can in the above Excel formula.

Hi, This is my first time using Airtable, started just today. I’ve been trying to find an answer but have so far been unsuccessful. Is it possible to create a multi step/section/tab form? What I mean is - I have 5 topics (as shown below), a user can navigate to the next section only if s/he completes the previous section/tab. New to Airtable and trying to figure everything out. I have a base to keep track of inventory and sales. I have it set up where if I enter the platform it sold on, the formula in the next column will calculate the fees. For example, if I enter “Ebay” it calculates that the fees will be 9% of the selling price, and so forth. The issue is that the this value wont show up as currency ($) and won’t allow me to change it because it’s saying “Your result type is not a number or a date. Formatting options are currently only available if your result type is a number or a date.” Although it is a number. It’s just showing as a decimal rather than a dollar amount. Any suggestions? This is the formula used in the column. It is calculating the correct amounts, just not in currency.
