Hello, I am trying forms in Airtable… I want my user to select number of his brothers from a dropdown list of 5 numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4. If he/she chooses 4, then display 4 groups of 7 text inputs like name, last name, occupation, dob, email, business, mobile number. same for 0,1,2,3. if 0, then jump to next dropdown of sisters and do same process & next children. I’m looking at removing all collaborators from a cell. I have attempted to send different variations of data and always receive 422. I’ve tried to: Update the field with an empty string: ‘’ Update the field with an empty json: {} Update the field with an empty record: {‘id’ : ‘’ } I can always update it correctly with {‘id’ : ‘usrXXXXXXXXXX’} I know I can send a valid request but I can’t send a valid request to clear the cell. The cell is clearable in Airtable on the web interface, so I believe it can be done but the API documentation doesn’t say how to clear a cell with PATCH. Using PUT seems drastic to update a single cell by sending all the other data except that cells data. For reference, most field types are an empty string apart from the checkbox which is the string “false”.

I am trying to write a function that allows me to add a set of numbers if a specific criteria has been met. EX: SUM (IF {Category 1} = “widget”, value {Cost 1})+(IF{Category 2} = “widget”, value {Cost 2})+(IF{Category 3} = “widget”, value {Cost 3})+(IF{Category 4} = “widget”, value {Cost 4}) (I’m not even sure if an IF function can be used this way.) I also don’t know if I should be using a rollup table or something else, given that this data would be on a separate sheet. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I’m trying to roll up linked records from multiple columns and return only the unique ones (ideally in record form, not string). For my example imagine I have different car models that can have different packages of wheels, chassis, and accessories. Each of those have separate tables where they have keywords associated with each package. I’d like to display a unique list of keywords associated with each car model that is a rollup of ALL the unique keywords associated with all 3 packages associated with each car. I’ve tried 3 solutions on the far right but I’m running into a few challenges: CONCATENATE({Keywords-Wheels},", “,{Keywords-Chassis},”, ",{Keywords-Accessories}). My solutions are returning strings. Is it not possible to return the actual records so they’re linked? I have commas with empty spaces in between for cases where columns may not have any tags associated ARRAYUNIQUE({Keywords-Wheels},{Keywords-Chassis},{Keywords-Accessories}). HI, I have a guest list for an event and want only the last /recent entered values to remain. Unique identifier is guest name guest code as F1,F2,F3,F4,F5. Suppose guest F2 again enters the form after 10 days with new arrival date and departure date - then he previous entry one should be hidden from my sheet and only this be considered in all rollups/lookups/linking.formula etc. I shall calculate rooms required, catering etc when guests enter arrival/departure/no.of persons etc. data using a form When there are two entries in the form for same guest, say F2 - I want the Last modified time to be picked up /maybe in a different view and the first one should be hidden and out of my calculations. Effectively- Duplicates in the same column (F2, F2) need to be removed and only the value (F2) with last modified time should remain. With this feature- I allow guests to change their plan/date/no.of persons requirement in future by entering their guest code.

I’m new to AirTable. One of our vendors has provided us with a shared view that I want to automate downloading via the API with a C# console app. All of the documentation I see refers to a base ID, and I’m able to get the sample APIs to work. But our view doesn’t have a base. When I go to the URL directly, I simply get a password prompt. Entering that, I get access to the grid/view. I’m looking for a little guidance for how to connect to our page via the API. Thanks

Hi all, I’m using Airtable to make a list of contacts for conflict checking in a law firm. I made a single table of all “contacts” including both people and organizations, and added some basic info like phone numbers, emails, etc. I also added a column which says “contact type” and splits the contacts into people or organizations. I want to be able to list the individuals who make up or work for organizations. I did this by making a new column called “members” and linking it to the same “contacts” table. Then I type in and select individuals’ names. However, I don’t want to be able to list individuals as members of other individuals. Can I write a formula by which an individual is unable to be added as a “member” of another individual? If you’re wondering why I don’t separate individuals and organizations into distinct tables–the reason is because (1) it will be easier to search a single table and (2) I also want (and made) a separate “cases” table which has a column for clients a

I’m about to develop a public view of our entire product database, which is one Airtable base of around 2000 records. Right now we’re having something like that in place, but basically just as an embedded view (the standard Airtable functionality) – but we’d like to enhance this public view, hence the custom developing need of it. The functionality of our public view will have to enable filtering all of the products on multiple levels – e.g. product category, price range, colour … you name it. Since this will be a public view, and hitting the api limits would happen easily with around 2000 records (I guess), I believe some sort of caching of the entire base data is in order. My main question is: how, and in what way? My first thought is to poll for the Airtable base at like an hourly interval, and saving all that data in one json file, then reading that json file on the client side with vue.js and outputting it in a gallery sort of way, with all the filters in place. Hello everyone, I use Airtable to manage projects and elements (Balcony, Terrace, Stairs, Separator Screen) in projects. I look for a method to automatically create drawings numbers. Indeed in elements table I have a link to projects table and for each element I create a drawing. I want drawings numbers drawing like this: ProjectNumber-ElementCode-Number the numbers is reset for each different element in same project. Example: Project1-Balcony A-01 Project1-Balcony A-02 Project1-Terrace X-01 Project1-Terrace X-02 Project2-Balcony A-01 Project2-Balcony A-02 Project1-Terrace X-01 So, as you see, the numbers at the end are reset for each element in same project, and reset between project. I have a table/records with a computed column/fields (using a lookup function) - let’s call this field/column F0. I would like to PATCH the table by changing the values of field F1 and leave everything else as is. I have two tables: ‘events’ ‘people’ (including single select field for ‘dietary requirements’) I can assign multiple people to each event. I then use a rollup field in ‘events’ linking to ‘people’ and the ‘dietary requirements’ field with this simple formula: ARRAYJOIN((values), ", ") It returns something like: None, Pescatarian, Vegetarian, None, None, None, None, None What I would really like to see is: 1 x Pescatarian 1 x Vegetarian 6 x None (or No dietary requirements) There are more than three options at the moment (e.g. ‘nut allergy’ and others, and as I add more people there will be additional dietary requirements to add to the single select field, no doubt. What is the way to achieve this ‘count of same items’ please?

Hi everyone, I’m not sure if I’m missing something or what but when I clear out all the data in a column and then paste new data into the column, it still has the previous data saved? I know this because when I switch from single line text to multiple select, the old data shows up as a bunch of choices. Any help? The solution I found is to delete the column and make a new one but I have a ton of data and this seems like it may lead to issues half way through my project. Thanks.

Hi! I am trying to create monthly columns that tell me if a staff worked the entire month, a portion of month or not at all. For example… staff 1 starts 9/8- 11/12 - my formula would show staff 1 worked 73% of the month. Same if staff 2 starts 8/31-9-1…would work 3% of september. I have it almost working…but issue with start date on the first of the month. Any ideas? Thanks! Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible to configure a form to auto-complete different fields when accessing it from a URL. The documentation for forms does not seem to mention any of this, and I think this would be a great feature to enhance our workflow. In my case, a Slack bot automatically posts player reports for my game, and a in-line link button is generated on the message so that I can add a “Ban” record if the report is valid. Right now, the administrator has to fill a few fields that would otherwise already be specified in the message. I believe adding parameters to a URL would make the implementation and usage of this possible feature very intuitive, like the following example: airtable(dot)com/MY_FORM_ID?MY_FIELD_NAME=MY_FIELD_VALUE

Hello, I’ve been tinkering with this idea but I’m stuck. I have a form with a Multiple Select field. Each option of this Multiple Select is the name of an activity. When the form is submitted, I’d like the table to add a value (I’m calling this “points”) according to the activity selected. So if Activity 1 was selected and the form submitted, 10 points are added to a field in the table. If Activity 2 was selected, it’s 8 points, and so on. Anyone have an idea how to make this? I have one table of people, and another with records of their visits. In the people table, I am trying to add a field that will tell me the date of the earliest visit… after 9/30/2016. I tried adding a formula field in the visits table to return the date of the visit only if it is after 9/30/16, but I have no idea how to build a specific date into the formula. I really don’t want to add another field to the table that will force me to add “9/30/16” to every single visit record just so I can do an IS_AFTER formula with two date fields. (Which reminds me, why don’t default values you set for certain fields show up when you add new records in the mobile app? Real bummer. But I digress.) IF(IS_AFTER(DATE,9/30/16),DATETIME_FORMAT(DATE,‘MM/DD/YYYY’),"") returns #ERROR everywhere. I am really hoping my format “9/30/16” is the problem, but I have tried other variations with no success. I have an Event Check-In form that allows people to add an Event, which draws from the Event table. Is there some way to limit which linked records the form can link to based on a parameter like date of the event?
