If I have a custom script as an action in an automation, is there anyway to have a catch or else statement that would create a failed automation notification like there is for the built in actions?Meaning, how can I set up a notification system if a custom script fails?

Hello! I am trying to format my data in a very specific way and require underscores between the text. I know when using a Lookup and formula there are challenges because the Lookup format is not a string and the commas within the field do not actually exist. I tried converting the field to a string and using a substitute formula but that just removed the commas and spaces from the field. Current Lookup Format: pa, nv, flSubstitute Format: panvflDesired Format: pa_nv_flDoes anyone know if there is a formula to add underscores to a lookup field that contains multiple options?Thank you in advance and I appreciate any support in solving this!

Hello,We're an edtech startup for high school students. In addition to the in-app exams and quizzes, we also run offline exams in Telegram groups to mimic school exams (around 3 times a week). We send out a pdf to a group chat, and then each student solves the exam by hand, and then takes a picture and sends it back to us. Our teachers then give each student a grade and reply to that student. This is important because we want to see the steps in their solutions. These offline test scores need to saved so we can achieve the following:- Keep track of each student's scores over the school year- We send out report cards based on these scores- Check if a student doesn't have a score recorded, so we can check if they didn't do the assignment (assuming it wasn't an error on our side)- Keep track of when our teachers submit a score (to ensure timely responses)Right now this is all done on sheets. We were thinking of using Airtable.Do you think this is something that can be achieved? I didn't find

I'm trying to filter my extract by the bank that the user select, but i'm always getting null. What am i doing wrong?const extract = await Extract.selectRecordsAsync({    fields: ["Name", "Data", "Valor", "Bank"]}).then(query => query.records)let bank = await input.recordAsync("Escolha um banco: ", Banks)const extractByBank = extract.filter(ext => ext.getCellValue("Bank") == [bank])

Trying to automate our UPC code generation (not the barcode image). We have our company prefix, and I know how to do the check sum. What I can’t figure out in AT is to process the current numbers already used/assigned in our block, and see what is the first missing number in the sequence. So we should have 10K numbers in our block, 00000 - 99999. We have used random numbers in past, all done manually. I would like to do this automatically in future by looking at that above sequence, removing anything that has been used, and then using the lowest number possible to start auto assigning SKU’s to projects moving forward. If this needs to be a script, can it be run by a button and/or an automation triggered by conditions?

I am using Airtable to manage a sales pipeline. I have created a sales dashboard using interfaces which reads across all opportunities. I want to be able to create quarterly and monthly reports by duplicating this dashboard and then filtering the records it reads to a specific date range.I can't seem to find the option for filtering a dashboard at the global level - does it exist?

Hi,I'd like to insert the error message into a field, so I used try catch with both of them updating a variable, which I then used to update the field. Weird; it only updated on success, not on error. Can anyone help? let config = input.config(); const recordId = config.recordid; let tabletable = config.tabletable; let table = base.getTable(tabletable); let query = await table.selectRecordsAsync({ fields: ["Error"] }); let err; try { await table.updateRecordAsync(recordId, { "Eat": "Cheese" // no such field }) err = "Code executed successfully"; } catch (error) { err = error.message; } finally { console.log(err); await table.updateRecordAsync(recordId, { "Error": err } ); } console.log("Updated a record!");  CONSOLE.LOG "Could not find a field with name or ID "Eat"." ERROR Error: Could not find a field with name or ID "Eat". at main on line 16As you can see, err was properly logged. But the record was not upd

Odd one, but I've noticed it a couple of times in the last week, so I wonder if it's a quirk of a new update.Basically I have a Status dropdown with a default option applied, called PlannedOne view that has some filters, including "If {dropdown} = ARCHIVE: Amendment"There is no grouping for the dropdown options in this view.Yet, when I create a new record it defaults to ARCHIVE: Amendment. This is how the filters are setup. Anyone know why this is? It's very frustrating. Is this a bug?

Hello!Anyone have an idea as to why my line graph is a bunch of scribbles? I want to chart number of applicants to specific majors overtime from term to term. The terms are in the correct chronological order on the x-axis, but for some reason the lines start in random terms and jump to other random terms.Thank you for any help!

I have a table of projects. Associated with each project is multiple teams and multiple quarters. Both the quarters and teams fields are sourced from linked records.I would like automation (or script) to create related projects in another table, one per multiselect field combination. I've tried creating a script with ChatGPT, but no luck. I also so some other solutions in the community that were similar, but not quite the same as my situation. Any suggestions?

I want to link specific words (like "Click here") in one of my tables to a cell in another table in the same database. "Copying the Cell URL" does work... for those who have an Airtable account. I need "the public" to be able to follow that link from the webpage where I have this table embedded.I've been researching this for hours and can't find anything. What am I missing?

Hi, I am generating a URL by concatenating a URL string and then the Airtable record ID. Between my URL string and that ID, there is always a byte mark like “%EF%BB%BF” added (for example, when using the URL in an email automation). Any way to remove that since the URL leads to a 404 otherwise?

Hi everyone, New to Airtable but love it so far, and am hoping to have the following question answered. I am creating a project / task tracker for my team, ultimately going to create an interface which would have the following hierarchy:Project > Tasks > Subtasks. I know I only have 3 levels so I'm trying to display the DRI name under the Subtask table in order for me to group it correctly. I created the correct tables which are linked properly (I think). Here is my question: How can I mirror the DRI in my Project table to auto-populate in my task and subtask tables? This will help me group my views properly. Thank you

I suspect this is a super easy thing to do, but I have been googling for over an hour now and all attempt to make this script function is seemingly failing. const { recordId } = input.config(); const table = base.getTable('tbliyrxpGU6tkQgG7'); let record = await table.selectRecordAsync(recordId); let user = record.getCellValue("Requestor (Airtable)"); console.log(user) await table.updateRecordAsync(recordId, { "Requestor (AT)": { id: user }}); Requestor (Airtable) is a Lookup Field that is pulling in a User.Requestor (AT) is a (Single) User field. The console log shows that 'user' is indeed an object that has id, email, name. But no matter how I try to pass the user onto the actual user field, it won't take it. "Cannot accept the provided value."

I have tried to explore airtable marketplace but I cannot see any option to publish template created by users. Is there any way to do it so?

I have a base set up to log participant feedback after people attend a program. Respondents fill out a form and give ratings to questions related to different dimensions (belongingness, context, etc.); I currently have responses linked to activities and program profiles, which determine the specific dimensions that are presented in the survey.I want to make a Likert chart for each program that shows the distribution of ratings for each dimension. To do that, the response data needs to be arranged as below, where the cells are counts of the number of people giving each response for each dimension:I've played with creating different views, experimented with rollups and formulas, but I haven't found an approach that gives me the output I need without requiring me to transcribe counts manually into the correct table format.Any help or insight (ideally without requiring the purchase of additional extensions) is greatly appreciated!!

Hi all! I’m in desperate need of a way to get the data I have in a table into Google Sheets. I would prefer not to use Integromat, but a script. I’m not a developer… I found a script (https://www.optimi.co.nz/blog/2019/05/11/you-too-can-make-dashboards-how-to-visualise-your-airtable-data-in-google-data-studio) but it pulls all the columns of the table and I would like it to pull only the ones that are not hidden in a specific view. Also, since I will be referring to those columns in other sheets, I need their order not to chance when it updates. Any suggestions? @Bill.French? Thank you!!

Hello and thank you for adding me to this group.I am attempting to do something that on the surface appears relatively simple however I am not quite able to figure out a work around for the issue.I am building out a bidding module to my base.I have a Series of tables starting with "Projects" then "Bids" then "Bid Line Items" where I then roll up the total of a set of Line Item expenses "Bid Amount*" to the Bids Table. I want to use that rollup in the "Primary" field as part of a formula however I get a circular reference error. Is there an easy way to extract that information and use it in a formula? Thank you!

Hello Airtable Community! I need help figuring out an easy data entry model for our YOY production reports. The basics: We have ~150 clients and ~75 suppliers (every year some clients leave, some are added, which is true for suppliers as well, meaning those lists are not static). Our clients sell products from our suppliers. For every year, our suppliers report sales for each client, which we collate into an individual sales report per client (I need help with reporting too, but that's a problem for another day). So each record in the production table is something like this:(linked to Client Table)(linked to Supplier Table Sync)Sales YearSales AmountClient ASupplier 12023$1,000Client BSupplier 12023$0Client CSupplier 12023$5,000Client ASupplier 22023$500Client BSupplier 22023$10,000Client CSupplier 22023$0Client ASupplier 12024$750Client CSupplier 12024$1,000Other info: The client table and production table are two separate tables/tabs in one base (client base), and the supplier list is

I'm using the 'color' attribute to color-code my fields according to type of item in the primary field, but now I have reached six colors (including the default color), I cannot proceed any further. Is this normal?

Hi everyone! I'm struggling to create an automation. We have a list of customer-support interactions that are either marked as Open, In Progress, or Resolved. For the most part, interactions are resolved same-day, but occasionally, some will need to be left as Open or In Progress, creating the need for a daily email summary that lists those unresolved interactions (if there are any). With that, I've been trying to create a scheduled automation that runs at 8:30 AM every day based on a view (that is set to only show unresolved interactions), and I'd like the automation to only send the email if there are items within that view. I've been trying to configure this, but with no luck. I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly (maybe it's my "Find records" step?) There's currently 1 record within that view, but when I test the automation in it's current state (attached) it's not meeting the conditions. Any ideas? Thank you in advance!

Hello! Im looking to recreate this function in Airtable=COUNTA(UNIQUE(Masterlist!C5:C))Where the column in Airtable I'm looking to count unique entries in is called CLIENT NAME. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the UNIQUE function works, is there a replacement or workaround? In short, I'm looking for a way to count unique entires in the CLIENT NAME column, i.e.:McFly, MartyMcFly, MartyGambini, VincentIpkiss, StanleyIpkiss, StanleyIpkiss, StanleyHillard, DanielCounting this column would come back as a count of 4Thanks in advance for any help 🙂

I'm making a dashboard from an interface, and when I display a number that is the sum or average of a group of fields it always displays the number with two digits after the decimal. Is there a way to round that number to no places after the decimal? Also for some of the numbers, I want to add a dollar sign to the beginning of the number. Is there a way to do that when the number is using a "Number" field?

Hey there. I’d like to alphabetize one set of records in a table but would like to write a formula that would exclude the word “the” at the beginning when alphabetizing. (I rather not just format as Title, The.) Any possible way to do this, or no, because this is essentially a sorting issue, not a formula/record-naming issue?

Hello! I'm hoping someone here is great with automations/scripting/something to help. I'm trying to run an automation every Sunday to randomize work tasks for my team and then send an email or Teams message. I want it to refresh the randomization when this runs at it's scheduled time. I have 6 members, and already have their off days input. The Airtable randomize values extension works for what I'm wanting (and avoids the cells that are already filled with "Off"), but I can't run it on an automation and honestly, I don't know enough about JavaScript to change the code. Their code requires inputs from the extension panel with the min/max bounds (mine would be set to 1,1, which is how it avoids the "Off" cells) AND the specific field to update. Here are my data references:Automation should run every Sunday at 3am (before anyone is logged in.. the time is somewhat arbitrary)Randomize each task excluding "Off"6 members in the first columnEach Day field is a multi select with
