Base Design

Hi, I have a request to set up a “tag” so that users can @mention everyone in a dept. in one new comment.  I tried doing this with groups.  I created a group made up of 4 users who are all Editors in the base, and gave the group the name “TechGroup”.  I would like to add a comment on a record and ‘@TechGroup’ so each member is notified. So, far this doesn’t seem to work.  Is there another way to tag multiple people in one mention? Thanks!

Hi! I created a base and interface for a game I have been playing, Schedule 1. Yes, it is a game where you create drugs based on different combinations and then sell those drugs :P. I have included a public view of it below. I have it basically how I want it, but I need a way, anyway, toFrom the drugs table, have a view that pulls the Teir 1 drug from any drug that isn’t a T1 drug. And then display in each row, the T1 drug, the different mixed supplies, and the drug effects.The challange is, in the game, when you make the drugs, they randomize the names after mixing. So, what for me, mixing ‘Aspen Grool’ which is a T3 drug, might be called something different for another user. It would be rather daughting to dig through each drug combo and source it back to the T1 drug, so I was hoping there was a way to do it in a formula or view or something. Thoughts? 

The problem: Our manufacturer will ship the contents of a Purchase Order as they are made and ship the remaining products when completed. We have had several occurrences of not knowing what’s coming and what is left until it arrives and we open the box. (We have a middle man, there is no direct comms with the supplier). My goal: Build an interface that the manufacturer can open, select the PO number, and input how much of each SKU is in the upcoming shipment, and put in the tracking number. Where I’m at: I have a Master Products Base with all of my SKUs in one table, and purchase orders in another table. I can add my skus from the products table into each PO, but I can’t assign each sku an order qty within the PO record.The other nuanced issue is that sometimes PO’s overlap and we will have the same SKUs on multiple POs. I want to be able to assign different order quantiti

NPO TEAM ACCOUNT (just to let folks know)So I love having master sync tables and create views off them for different usages in a base.For example: I have a common base for State and Country, absolutely love this, and use it across a lot of our bases for different purposes.In our CRM we use it for Contact, Company, Communities, Speaker/Facilitator Bureau, Charity Compliance, and Grants tables.  There are some privacy requirements, and access controls that we have in place.I have set a VIEW -  States, just for lookup that does not show ANY other fields except the STATES field.So why if the view doesn’t show any of the other fields (where it is being used in the other tables) why does the individual record show. And then when I open it up - I see all the other areas I

This might be a bug or I’m doing something wrong. I have a self-linking field in the object_types table called parent that establishes a child parent relationship between types. In my part_object table I lookup the part’s parent’s object_type. The desired behavoir is that any part that is a child of an assembly will only display object types that are a child of that assemblies object type.  When I set this up I’m not getting anything. Either I’m missing something or there is a bug with dynamic filters for self-linking relationships. Anyone have any experience with dynamic filters for self-linking relationship fields?   

I have two table A and B, table A has product status variable that tracks the different phases of product and helps with different views to see specific inventory. Table A is also linked to table B, I would like to be find a way to edit table A’s status field from B once I am done processing it instead of manually going to A to change it. so far I couldn’t find a way to change. any advise is highly appreciate. 

In my Contacts table I have 2 types (single-select) - “non-profit” and “legal” - and a linked record field to a Requests table. The Request record has two Lookup fields pointing to Contacts - one a lookup filtered by a view of nonprofit-type only, the other filtered by a view of legal-type only.  This is so my user can quickly distinguish the two types assigned to the request.Now, I add 1 contact to each of the two fields in the Request. I would expect to see both Contacts linked to that Request. But the only Contacts shown as linked to that request are those entered in the first (“nonprofit”) column. If I force a “legal” contact into that first Request column, It shows up as expected on the Contact side.I’m not understanding something about how linked records work. How should I structure the linkages between these fields across the two tables?  thx 

Hello, I am trying to use a lookup field from another sheet.  It seems that I can only search by the primary field, not by the field I have selected as the source.  For example:Sheet 1 - Primary field: Job #Job #: 1234Job Name: Sheet 2Lookup field in sheet 1 - Job Name: (I can search for Job # (1234), but not by job name. Is there a way to fix this or work around?

I'm trying to upload a survey in Excel to create a Form view, but unable to do so without losing all the formating. Anyone know how to do this? Thanks!

Hello!I am running into an issue where the field count is almost maxed out on two tables in my base and I need the ability to add more fields. In both of the tables, there are many fields that are used for reporting/stats. I considered moving all of those fields to another table but it’s not quite working out.I do closing coordination for real estate agents. The two tables in question are the Properties table and Contacts table.The Properties table has records for each contract. The Contacts table has records for each of my agents. Each property record is linked to the agent for that contract in the Contacts table. Reporting in the Properties table is done based on the agent for things like properties under contract, properties closed X amount of days ago, etc. Reporting in the Contacts table is done based on the agent using rollup/formula fields that reference the Properties table for things like average sales

Is there any way to set up an inventory tracking system where someone can scan a QR code, and fill out a form of what they are checking out as well as checking back in?The issue I’m running into is that its fairly easy to create a form with a drop down of what you’re checking out, but when it comes to quantity of what's being checked out, that's where it gets tricky, unless you create a sperate quantity field for each individual piece of equipment, which if you can imagine, you have hundreds of different pieces of equipment, that is extremely inefficient not to mention the form it self would have hundreds of conditional fields. What I had imagined is for example, I scan a QR code, a form comes up, I check out 5 harnesses, 3 lanyards, and 10 beam clamps and click submit. On the user interface, I can look at who checked it out, what equipment they have what department they are etc. When checking back in, they similarly scan a QR code and fill in what they returned. Hello!Our organisation has basically a large ‘to-do’ list table which includes a ‘Tag’ multi-select field which I’ve just found out our Editor users can’t add new options to – either directly in the table, or through an interface list/record view.We are on a Team/Pro plan so I can edit the field permissions, which I’ve set to Editors and up and it still doesn’t work.As I am the Owner, I assumed anyone could add new options to this field because I always thought the common issue was trying to stop users from doing that! I really am racking my brain because it feels so simple but I can’t test it without sitting next to an Editor, and also wild that I can’t find others in the community with a similar issue.

I am an admin of my company. My company works primarily within interfaces, but I would like to invite one of my colleagues to access the base data itself. How do I do this?

Does anyone know a way to save Outlook emails for future reference? Something where you just click and drag the email in to Airtable and open it in Outlook when you click on it. I guess you can drag it in as an attachment but it won’t then you have to download it to again it instead of it just going straight to Outlook and opening it up. Anyone know the best way to store emails on Airtable?

I have created a form and I upgraded it.  I have published it, but when I try to copy the url so I can share it, it doesn’t copy.  Is there an alternate place to find the form url?  When I go back to my base and click on the Form View, it shows the old version, not the upgraded finished version.

Hello. An unexpected problem is that suddenly it is no longer possible to move views through the list of views in any table. The icon in the name of the "move" view remains, but the view does not move. What could be the problem?

I am stumped on how to solve this problem.Our team has 1 table set up that is pulling data from a synced table. We added in new columns to the right of the synced data to be able to add in subtasks and a few other pieces of tracking information.The issue we are running into is there are other ad hoc tasks that need be done that are not on synced table but we need to be able to put the synced data in the same view with the ad hoc tasks.Our only commonality is that we have a linked record for both from an overview table of projects.Is it possible to bring together a synced data table and an ad hoc table into 1 new table for the team to work from?
