Hi all, First time poster so forgive me if I’m posting this incorrectly. I’m trying to create an automation where by an email is sent at creation of a new record (through a form). That task seems simple enough, but I’m struggling to connect a separate tab into the flow. The desired flow is as follows: User submits a completed form which includes a division field (ie, business group) There’s a lookup to a separate tab which pulls that division contact(s) into the view automatically Automation then sends email notifying the division contact of the new record for their review. Problem is, I can’t get the lookup reference to the division contact to pass the automation test. It continues to say that I’m not referencing a valid email address, which is true, as the lookup is not returning a value but a string. Any help is appreciated. Glad to answer follow up questions.

Hi - this seems simple but when I tried it I just got into a loop generating records 🙂When I create a new record, and fill in one field (a lookup) and this record also has an autonumber field (say 1) could Airtable automatically duplicate the record twice (so you would have 3 records auto - numbered 1,  2 and 3) with the same lookup selected?I guess this could need a button / script not an automation but I'm a bit new to itThanks much appreciatedJim

I have a base with three tables, Clients, Cases, and Case Approval. So far I have it set up so that as soon as a case in the "Cases" table has it's status changed to "Pending Approval" it will create a record in the "Case Approval" table. At this point I was hoping I could send an automated email to the client with the Airtable Record URL so they could open it and approve or reject the design. 1. Is this the best way to automate approvals? 2. Is there a way to accomplish approvals without the client needing an Airtable account? 

Hi, I have 2 fields:Transaction Date - date fieldand Month (For Reports) - linked fieldWhat I want is whenever a date is set under transaction date, it should automatically link to the corresponding Month - linked field. I know this is doable but I can't seem to wrap my head around how to do this. Hi everyone, I’m hoping I can explain well where I am stuck. What I am trying to achieve (in short) is that any time a form is submitted sync a certain (calculated) field from form1/table1 to a corresponding field in table2 only if the email adress entered in the form and an email adress in table2 match (both primary fields) In more detail: I have created a seld grading quiz using this instruction: Self-grading quizzes with Airtable - DEV Community What I am trying to accomplish is basically that the grade, that is a calculated field in table2, is synced to table2 which is our user database. The form requires the user to enter an email adress. If this email adress matches an email adress of table2 (pimary field), then the field with the score should be synced with a corresponding field associated to this record. I hope I was using the correct terminology. I have tried using automations but I haven’t figured it out yet. I am very grateful for any help!

We take bookings online for a fortnightly gardening session, and the attendees' details are then added/ updated in an Airtable list.Before each fortnightly session, we currently manually send the list of who is signed up to the session leader which feels inefficient! I have setup the Airtable/ bookings so that the dates people signed-up to auto-populate, currently as a list since they may sign-up to multiple dates, eg "03-05-2023, 17-05-2023," etc. I'd love to find an automation which searches for today's date in this field and sends an email to the leader with the sign-up people but I can't see a way to do this. There is an automation option to Send an email when the date field matches 'Actual trigger time' but not sure how this is formatted/ if it would work. Hope this makes sense and would welcome any suggestions!thanks

I have a base for my Dispatching business and i deal with brokerages that have different reps. I got a Brokerage Table and Contacts table for each individual rep and i link them to their particular Brokerage. I have another table where i keep Trips table but i want to know is their a way to bring in a field where i can search inside the linked records of the individual Brokerage?

Hi,I am trying to pre-fill two records in an Airtable form from the following column "Client Commercial Controls":If I pull up the pre-filled form, currently I can only pre-fill the one value ("Police check to be performed"), but I also want to pre-fill the second value ("Data security policy to be added").This is the formula I am using to pre-fill the form and have no issues when only pulling in one value, but can't work out how to pull in multiple values. Please advise.Many thanks,Nik

Hello,I sat up an email automation with Airtable. It works well and sends the emails, but I can't find a way to customize the sender name. I'd like to have the company's name as sender name instead of "Airtable Automations". Do you know how I can solve this? Hi all,II'll try and better explain.Imagining you have a base with multiple tables, and on one table there are 2 fields... One, is a linked to field that allows for multiple selected records... Let's say it links to a table listing people's names; members of a team. One record has 3 names: Jason JonesAmy AbnerSteve SullivanAgain, these are individual records from another base, not text.  Is there a way I can pull just the first record, automatically, into the 2nd field? Similar to if I was using the right or left functions with numbers.  I want to have a second field that pulls out just Jason Jones in this field, and does the same for all the other records along that same field; ie pulling out just the first record.  🙏  

Hi all! I am building out something to help with vaccine planning (yay!) and need something that can essentially help me do the following: I have a single select field called “Vaccine” with Moderna (First Dose), Pfizer (First Dose), Moderna (Second Dose), Pfizer (Second Dose), and J&J as options I also have a date field (“Clinic Date”) indicating when the vaccine clinic takes place for each of them, and how many doses were administered. What I am looking to do is to automatically calculate a field for the second dose clinic (i.e. it would need to identify the type of vaccine and calculate the next date based on that. For example, First Dose Pfizer - calculate for me the next date as 3 weeks out. For Moderna, the next clinic needs to be 4 weeks out. I should add that I did try creating the following formula, but Airtable does not seem to like it: SWITCH( {Vaccine}, ‘Pfizer (First Dose)’, DATEADD (3, ‘week’), ‘Moderna (First Dose)’, DATEADD(4, ‘week’)) I know that this should be s

Hello!Our project managers often add personalized information to an automated email before sending to a client.  Is there a way to drop the email into the Office 365 drafts folder rather than actually sending it out?I see an option with Zapier but was curious if there is means to do it within Airtable's internal automation as there is with purely sending an email. 

Hello, I am trying to find a way to add an attachment from a new record to a field that already has one. The automation deletes the existing file and add the new one. I tried adding the URL from the search step in the automation as well as of the URL of the new attachment but it does not work. Also tried to separate them with ", " Or “;” but it does not work either. Did anyone manage to do that ? Best Paul

Hey Community,  Thanks for reading my post.  I am trying to update records in Table A (sales estimates) with a number from Table B (sales invoices) when a new record comes into Table B.  I could also do this on a regular interval instead of having a new record entry in Table B kick the automation.  Whatever is easiest. Essentially, I'm trying to get around the autolinking problem.  Sales estimate numbers are unique and when they convert to an invoice the invoice has the same number.  However, I'd still have to go in every day and link all the new invoices generated to their estimates to make the reporting work correctly.  I REALLY don't want to do that.  Any suggestions?  I imagine there are several ways to get around this, but I'm really hitting a wall.

Hello,These presented properties will have a chance to have a different property address linked on this column which is not having any issues.My main question here is there any way how could I set up,  the "current property" will be replaced with the latest property address from the presented properties?For example.The first property from the presented properties was 15 Kaye Drive, after a few minutes there will be another property added to the "presented property which is 36 Erronmago Drive.How can I replace the "current property" with the latest address which is 36 Erronmago Drive?The main purpose of the "current property" should only have 1 latest property address only.Hope it is clear and someone could help 🙂Thank you 

I have customers purchase information. in Make.com I'm able to store all of the customer's purchase information into a Long Text Field that looks like such:37466774995108, 37466777616548, 43650268266737, 37466778697892, 37466778632356, 43650344222961, 43650236907761, 37466778173604All of these values are linked to another record that has the Product information. How do I convert the numbers into Linked records. I can do this manually, but I want to automate this. I know you may be asking, but I have over 122 different products, so I would rather not manually add them. Also I'm using Make.com, and the only way to automate this is to upload as a comma array. So I need some sort of formula to convert a comma array into a linked field. 

Hello!Pulled up a list of three dates from a linked table.  In this table, there is a separate date on each record.  Looking for a way to find the latest of the three dates, that is not later than the separate date in the record.  I can find the last date using MAX, but am struggling to integrate the IF statement of not surpassing the stand alone date on the record.  

This is a relatively new issue - when I copy and paste from anywhere into Airtable lately, it automatically adds two new lines before pasting my text and another line after. Can you please look into this? It's frustrating to have to go back and delete it when I'm trying to paste in place. We currently publish an Airtable calendar of training events on a company intranet page. We use the Zoom event registration feature and I have a button on each event that takes the users to the Zoom registration form. But I'd like to find a way to track these event registrations in Airtable rather than in Zoom, so we can utilize automations, etc. Is there some way that I could build a button that so that when a user selects an event on the calendar and clicks "Register", they would go to an Airtable form which would automatically associate that registration with the selected event? I don't want them to have to pick the event from a list within the form (for a few reasons). I just want them to fill in their name and contact info and answer a couple of questions. Thanks for the help!

I have an interface for Contacts with a linked record to Interactions. The linked record is customized to display the required details.When creating a new interaction, only two of the details are displayed. If I then click on that record after it's been created, I can then edit the additional details.

I'm struggling to figure out a solution for scaling views.  I currently have a view for each of our districts (which gives me approximately 90 views). They all have identical data/fields with a filter to only see the pieces tagged in that district.  I set these up as views specifically because I need the shareable URL for users viewing that don't have an account. I am using that URL in some email automations - use case, district updates. So each month, an automated email to that manager saying "here's your highlights" (all dynamic fields) with a link to "view your detailed breakdown here" (dynamic field to insert the URL of their view).    Hopefully this makes sense so far.  My problem is how poorly this scales. I just improved the view with a few other columns/groupings etc. But now I have to make that manual change across each of the 90 views and hope I don't miss any ..... is there any way at all to scale this?  The views are all ide

Hello,I'm wanting to move from Trello to Airtable Kanban, but I have a few questions as I'm setting it up:1) I wanted to make the Primary Key Field to be my Task Name, however, if I do that then I am unable to *EDIT* the Task Name within the Kanban Interface. That's a bummer because I don't want to have to go back to the Table/Data view just to edit a card's title. Since that didn't work I tried #2 below:2) Just using "Autonumber" for my Primary Key Field, with the hope of hiding my Primary Key Field on the Card View and making the Task Name column the header on my Kanban Cards... but, when I'm customizing the way my "cards" display in the Interface Designer, it appears that I cannot remove the Primary Key Field from displaying... so I either have to have a meaningless number as the header, or an Task Name that's uneditable from the interface.How can I:Keep Autonumber from displaying on my Kanban Cards, Use Task Name as the header for cards, and Be able to edit the Task Name within the
