Does anyone know how to simply program an automation that would allow for clients to be assigned to employees based on first letter of last name.So if clients with last names starting with:A - G --> Employee 1H - M --> Employee 2N - S -->  Employee 3T - Z --> Employee 4i figured this might be a combination of a formula field that just isolated the first letter of last name. But i think there should be a quick second step that would maybe group letters in alphabetical divisions easier than just manually input a condition automation for each letter.  

I have a table of products that includes a linked record field to a “tags” table. Each product can have multiple tags. I want to create an automation that auto applies one of the tags, called “New Product”, to the product and auto removes the same tag at a later date but does not remove all the other tags in the field. I was able to get the first part to work wonderfully – I have a field that is the last modified date and I setup an automation to apply the “New Product” tag to the the product if the item enters a view and the last modified date was within the last 30 days. But, I can’t figure out how to remove the tag without also removing every other tag in the field. Any thoughts or threads of wisdom? Thanks, Justin

I'd like the base to go to Pexels (or another free source for images) each morning, grab a picture of someone doing a handstand, and add it to "today's" record. Can anyone head me in the right direction to build this automation? Or have some advice/insight on how to make this happen? Appreciated in advance. 😁

Hi, all. I'm transitioning from Google Sheets and I understand things are different here, so please have patience with me :-). I am basically trying to implement a VLOOKUP functionality.I have the following use case: I have two tables, customers and orders. Their only commonality is the User ID.I am now trying to look up a field in the customer table (name) and display it in the orders table by using Lookup. Each customer has a large number of orders.When linking the two records and creating a lookup field, I can get the name to display on the orders table. But only for that one particular order and only by manually linking a record. My expectation was that Airtable recognizes that each "name" field in the orders table should now be filled the relevant value from the customers table. Like I would do with an arrayformular in Google Sheets. But that's not happening. What am I doing wrong?

Hi guys,We have a field that lists the publish date + time for a piece of web content. We want to be able to organise all of these dates into 'week commencing', ie. add a field that gives the date of the Monday of that week. So, an item published say on Thurs 22nd December 2022, falls into 'Week Commencing' 19th December 2022. Something published on Friday 23rd December 2022, also the same Week Commencing date. The formula we're using to do this is:DATEADD({CONTENT PUBLISH DATE},1-WEEKDAY({CONTENT PUBLISH DATE}),'days')And it sort of works. But it seems to want to force some content pieces from the end of the week into the next week and I'm unsure why. For example, I have a piece of content dated for the 11th December 2022, 3pm, yet it forces it into week commencing 12/12/2022. Any ideas why this might be?

We had Twilio automation running perfectly sending sms to a phone field on every new record added to a base.Today the automation started failing noting "Twilio reported an error while processing this action: An unexpected error occurred, please retry or contact Airtable support."When looking in the Twilio console I don't see related errors in the error log.Attached is a screenshot from the automations run history.I am new to airtable, and not sure if there's some better way to report such cases. Would highly appreciate your help! 🙂

I have a multiple select field I am attempting to update within an automation, but I can’t seem to add an option to it without overwriting. Pared down, this is essentially what my code looks like right now: Val = record.getCellValue("The Cell") if(conditions met) { await table.updateRecordAsync(record.id, {"The Cell": [Val, {name: "NewVal"}]}); } And this isn’t working, as it says it can’t recognize this input type. I’ve also tried using getCellValueAsString and then passing that as another option, but that didn’t work either. Right now the code is working but is overwriting the cell value when it does, so I want to add this functionality where it doesn’t overwrite. Any help appreciated!

First things first, for all you airtable users, all the best for 2023!Context:I've got a newspaper that appaers 6 days of the week: monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday, friday and saturday.Every day i have in this newspaper 2 free spaces that needs to be filled up with an advertisement.I would like to use airtable to make a kind of reservation tool so i can follow up when the correct advertisement must appear in the newspaper.Through a form the user must be able to input:the name of the advertisementa start date of the apparitions (date selection from a linked table to exclude double bookings)a frequency of apparitions (1 = one day / 2 = two days / 3 = three days / ...)ProblemI really don't have a clue how i can automate that airtable assigns the dates to the record when the frequency is more then 1.And then for the icing on the cake... the frequency should be every other day => monday - wednesday - friday - (sunday) - tuesday - thursday - saturdayExam

Hello,I'm new to logic formulas and need some guidance. I have an AT to track company orientations. I have three columns- {Start Date}, {Orientation Complete Date}, and {Orientation Status}. I would like to create a formula for {Orientation Status} to show "Complete" when {Orientation Complete Date} is filled in, "Almost Due" when {Start Date} is within 14 days of todays date and {Orientation Complete Date} is empty, and "Overdue" when {Start Date} is after 15 days from todays date and {Orientation Complete Date} is empty.Any help or a link in the right direction would be appreciated!

Hey everyone! I have copywriters and designers uploading content to our bases on a daily basis. It seems as though previewing Microsoft Word documents (.dox extensions) is not available with the current Box app that Airtable uses to preview attachments. Or am I missing something? Screenshots below are from our interfaces. If you have any ideas how we can get these previews to show it would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I have observed some performance decrease for the last 10 days, no matter the size of the database I am working with. The message “Loading this view may be slow due to a large number of records or fields” appears very often (it even appears when I call the airtable “What’s new” menu) Calling linked records is slower than it used to be. I am using Airtable every day to consolidate different data sources and my daily work has increased due to this performance breakdown. Am I the only one to observe a performance breakdown and, if not, is there anything to do? Thank you Pascal

Hi,In one column I want to get shown a trend more obvious with colours.So I want the difference to the week before and in this case a green or a red broken heart.But somehow I am not allowed to put the heart at the front and the difference at the end ...(se result: NaN) 🤔 🤔Any idea, what I cannot see right now?Best regards,Martin

Please any guide on this? I am  trying to fetch all the data from the products endpoint of an API using a limit of max 500 data point per fetch and an offset that increment per every fetchSo if the offset is 0, and the fetching max limit of 500 the next offset = 500, 1000, 1500 in that order.I already have to script fetching the data at max of 500 but I have to always manually set the offsets which is time consuming so I want this to be automated in code. If I can get a sample code that does similar I will be glad

Let's say I have a cell that as the following information I inserted below: Beef Onion Burgers with PicklesIngredients:2 hamburger patties1 onion, diced2 tablespoons ketchup4 slices pickles2 hamburger bunsHow can I separate all of the text to the left of the word  "ingredients" into one cell? I basically am trying to extract the name of the recipe into its own cell.

Hi, I' new to Airtable. What I'm trying to do is to create a gantt chart with the start and end dates for the phases in a record to follow up the peoples workload which is different for each phase of a project. In one table I have the phases of a project in one record. I want them in a chart like below. I can create this with an automation via a "planning" table but I can't seem to update this table when a date changes in the original table. The link in the original table to the planning table contains the ID of each created record in the planning table (so 4). Can some one help me ?  An alternative is to delete all data in het planning table on a certain time interval and rebuild the entire table but I cant find the way to delete all the records in a table. thanks,  Koen

I’ve embedded the Gallery view on to my website, but I know that having all filter options available will be confusing and hard to navigate for my users. How can I specify what filter options I want them to be able to choose from (and ensure the other options are not available) in the shared view.
