Hi All,I have text field called Name, which contains data in the following format: XXX - YYY - ###, where XXX and YYY are random texts, ### is a 1/2/3 digit number and they are always separated by " - ".In another field I'm using the following formula: TRIM(MID(Name, FIND("-",Name,FIND("-",Name)+1)+1,3)).My goal is to find the number at the end of the Name field and use it as a number in other calculations, but although the result looks good, it is not recognized as a number.Any suggestions?Thank you in advance!

I am creating a record summary interface but am wanting to use a different field than the primary field in my table for the dropdown to search up a record. Is this possible? Is there a work around? It is difficult to use the primary field in our table for searches as it is a code, it would be much simpler to use a different field. Thanks!

Hi everyone,I'm very new to Airtables and I'm trying to figure out some formulas. For now, I'm trying to figure out training completion from my base. The 'Training Completed' field is a multi-selection field (also a linked field) that shows all training an employee has completed. I want to create a formula where if a person has completed Training A and Training B, then the result is 'completed'. So basically, out of the many options that present themselves in the multi-selection field, I need to select 2 specific pieces of training that indicate that a program has been completed. I've tried using the IF (FIND) formula. I'm getting part of it correct, where I've just included Training A, but when I try to add in Training B, the formula doesn't work. This is what I have so far:IF(FIND("Training A", {Training Completed}), "Completed", "Not Completed")  I need to add in Training B to the mix as well. Can anyone help me with this? 

Continuing the discussion from Creating new row entries from a long text: Since this thread was closed and I’m facing a similar problem I was wondering if someone could help out. I have a Long text field in my table, lets call it “Task Submission”, that I would like to create entries in another table from each new line of text, as shown in the image below. Is there a Way to script this to run manually or automatically. I have an enterprise plan. I need this because i need users to submit new tasks that need to be followed in another table. thanks

Hi everyone,I'm currently building a rental (lending) system for my inventory and I need help tackling an issue with how I register multiple rentals on the same item. I've entered an inventory of some 150 items in one table, a lender registry in another and a project list in a third. I've made a separate table where I register loans and returns back into the inventory. Consider this a log.Here I've made a formula, where you pick who the lender is, what project they are affiliated with, and what items they are lending.When the record is submitted, it updates all items in the inventory and changes their status from in-house to unavailable or vice versa.All of that works thanks to several links, automations and formulas. However!I would like to register future loans and when they are expected to be returned.And here is where it all gets dicey. How do I register multiple dates in a timeline or gant view on the same item and line?Especially since the solution should suit

Hi all, I'd appreciate a bit of help.I am trying to make a two product comparison page. I have all product specifications in one table like this: And I want to pull the specs data on this other "compare pages" table depending on which two products are picked:So if Product 1 is "iPhone 11" then it would pull the specs into this "Product 1 Specs HTML"from the first table. Same for product 2. Hopefully it makes sense.Is there an automation or formula that I can use to achieve this? Much appreciated! 

Hello!I know at one time there were several threads that spoke to extracting the First Name from a full name, and also a formula for extracting the Last Name. While I can find several threads with the code for First Name, I cannot find any that show for Last Name now that I'm in need of it 😂First Name Formula Found: IF(FIND(" ",{Full Name})=0, {Full Name}, LEFT({Full Name}, FIND(" ",{Full Name})-1))I've tried different variations using RIGHT instead of left, but I either get really odd returns where some last names are extracted properly, and others are completely way off, or I get blank returns. I have several Full Names that include more than 1 name as that Last Name. Example: Olivia Gutierrez Lawson. I would need "Gutierrez Lawson" to appear in the last name field with the formula. I feel confident in some of my formula creation skills and then there are times like this when I realize just how little I know haha. I am so grateful there is a community

I have a task table with start date, due date, and completion date.  Each task is marked open, attempted, or done via a single select.  Working to create an automation that creates a copy of a task marked as "Attempted."  here's the flow of my automation: Trigger:  Record meets condition / condition is Status field is NOT open (aka, either Done or Attempted) Action:  Insert the value of a formula field into the completion date field.  The formula field is simply NOW(), so it will change every day and as we complete tasks, the completion date will change to the current date. Conditional Action:  If Status field equals "Attempted" Action:  Create new record with the following dynamically inserted fields: Task Description New Start Date New Due Date Assignee To calculate the new start and end dates, I have created two columns in the Task table with very similar formulas like this: DATEADD({Completed On}, 2, 'day') The new due date field adds 4 day

As far as I'm aware, we're not able to set the Primary Field as the User type. Has this feature been discussed/is this a feature that is likely to be added in the future?

I am a newish user on a pro plan and in the 5 months i've been using Airtable i not only learned a lot but definitely have learned how to make more complicated tables and ways that our organization can use it. However, now that more of our operations and staff is on Airtable, i am also realizing that i could have built much of it differently. I know there's no way to just duplicate an entire table (along with its data, automations and interfaces) to a new base (just as another table on the same base), which makes redesigning quite complicated. Does anyone found a way around this or found a simple way? I have no problem exporting data but i also dont want to rebuild all the columns and all the automations i connected to it.... help!

Hello,My organization requires our companies to submit quarterly reports via an Airtable form. Because companies cannot see the previous quarterly report form submitted, sometimes, they will duplicate answers from the previous quarter. I'm wondering if there is a way that companies can see the last quarterly report they provided when they are completing the current quarterly report.Thanks!

Is there a way to count the number of weekdays between a date range? I am currently using the following formula to count the number of days between the FROM and TO DATE:DATETIME_DIFF({To Date}, {From Date}, 'days')+1 If the date range includes a weekend, I only want to include the number of weekdays. 

I have one column with text in the following format: A Meeting By The River (Album) 3 versions I need to split it into 3 columns 1: the string before the bracket 2: the string between the bracket 3: the string after the bracket

Is there a way to calculate times without using a datetime field? For example, if I have a start time of 11:30am and an end time of 3:30pm, can I use a formula to calculate the difference without using a datetime field?On the surface, I can do this by making my start and end times Duration-type fields, but I'd have to switch to a 24 hour format, which is less readable for me than a 12 hour format (Americans, amirite?). Also, the Start and End times will be used in concatenate formulas, so formatting becomes a real problem (Tuesday 8:30-11:30 becomes Tuesday 30600-41400). 

We have been using Airtable as our internal database and have built some simple scripting extensions to update data from our backend. Every row has an Update button and clicking on it runs the scripting extension showing a dialog box which somewhat creates a bad experience when editing multiple records quickly.Would love a feature to set the extension to run in background or to show a small toast showing whether the run was successful or not, rather than showing the entire dialog box again and again.

I have a client who has submissions to an AT base via jotform that populate into a master 'customer' database. With the business, there are different approvals that occasionally happen that need to be noted. There are multiple events throughout the year, and the client is asking if there is a way to timestamp when they were approved, so that when they are approved, it updates the master database. Furthermore, they would like to be able to search the main database, and when they search for that customer, it will automatically show the approval, and the date of that approval.They would also like to be able to see all events that they have participated in. Now, to throw a wrench in it, they only have 2 events open each registration period, which uses a different jotform for each event, but they all currently populate to the main database. So, I have some columns in one of my bases that are complex formulas working something out based on year. These particular formulas are necessary as there is no quick workaround via rollups etc., it's not pretty - and there is something better involving linked records in the works - but they are doing the job for now. Each of these columns show the data for one calendar year, and on an interface I used a number element to sum the column. This way a member of my team has a tidy way of seeing numbers for previous years (each year column has its own number element).They are all exactly the same column, with the same formula (adjusted for dates), with no options for formatting. I've been able to make four number elements using these going back to 2018.At the start of the year, I duplicated the 2021 column (which has a number element), and adjusted the formula to cover 2022. But this new column is not available to select within the number element Field Summary field list.Does anyone ha

I'm creating an automation in Airtable where the info from each stripe payment comes though. The price comes in without decimals, so I thought it would be easy to add a conditional action that is there isn't a '.' in the dynamic object I could just add it within the automation, but ... its seems to be out of my comfort zone.Is there a Script that someone has to do this?  or another workaround?

I need some help using an IF statement within a CONCATENATE formula. I have tried many permutations but have just not found the right syntax. I have the following fields: AirtableID CompanyName Project Sub-Project Person In the Name field of a table, I want to concatenate these fields as such: If Sub-Project is not NULL, then Name = AirtableID_CompanyName_Sub-Project_Person Else (Sub-Project is NULL), then Name = AirtableID_CompanyName_Project_Person Here is as far as I got, and I know the syntax is not right: CONCATENATE({AirtableID},’’,{CompanyName},’’,IF({Sub-Project} = 0,{Project},{Sub-Project}),’_’,{Person}) Thanks!

Sorry if this is obvious, and I've just been unable to find a solution, but... Is there any way to create a PRIORITY field that changes dynamically? Imagine there are ten projects in a base, with a Priority field numbered 1-10. I now need to add an eleventh project, but this one is more urgent and has a priority of 2 on the list. Currently, I then have to manually change the old Priority 2 to a 3, 3 to a 4 and so on. Is there a way to automate this?
