Hi is it possible to tell airtable to look at two fields and look it up/match the fields on a different table and return the corresponding value? For example: Looking at the first image, L5 field (Media Engineering) and the size field (s) lookup the value for “s” in another table, second image, AND for Media Engineering and return the corresponding value? In this case it should return 20%. Any suggestions welcome! Thank you!

Hey guys, I’ve been really struggling with this for quite a long, hope you can give me a hand. I’m aware, that those questions have been asked already several times here, but still I couldn’t apply any of proposed solutions to my case. I have table A where I’m adding booking numbers. There are also several “special” booking numbers in table B. Whenever in table A there is a booking number, that already exists in table B, I want to have it tagged/highlighted in the next column (in table A). In the same table A, I’m adding a notification numbers. Whenever I add the notification number that already exists in the same table A, I want to have it highlighted in the next colum. Thanks a lot

Greetings! I’d created a formula: CONCATENATE({Month #},“-”,Month) so that grouping in my table(s) would do so since obviously April would be first in the order, etc. However, when I have it sorted in the chart, as you see, the order is, well, not what I’d expect. Any suggestions?

We have an Automation setup to send an email notification via gmail account. In the email body is an Attachment field. The email recipients could open the attachments perfectly fine for month. In the last 2-3 days (likely as a results of the Attachment URL change/expiration), these attachments thumbnails show in the email body of the email notification recipients, but there is an error when clicking on the thumbnail image to try to view the attached file. Here is what the recipients see… The email recipients, as in the example of the screen shot above, are not users of Airtable. We just send them email notifications. Any way to fix this? I have a “Tasks” table with a checkbox (Open OR Complete). I want to list (Rollup) all “Open tasks” in one field and “Complete tasks” in another field on a different table (Clients) What should the formula be?

I have a formula field that creates a URL from a form, with pre-filled data. We are sending this URL link via an automated email. When someone receives the link on a mobile device and tries to open it, they land on the Airtable site and are asked to sign up. It does not display the form in a browser.This is not an issue on a computer. How do we fix this?

Hi! I created a field that concatenates the last name and full name in a table. I am trying to write a function that takes the 2 letters first letter of the first name and 2 last letters of the last name. But it only returns the 2 first letters of the first name. Here is the formula CONCATENATE( UPPER( LEFT( {Full Name},2), RIGHT( {Full Name},2) )) How can we make it happen ? Thank you

Hello! I am building out a new base for my department which runs a variety of Programs throughout the year. Thus far I have set up some dummy data (i.e the “steps” you see in the screenshot) to successfully link my tasks to projects. There is a flow to how we approach the different programs we offer in terms of our when open applications, when we contract instructors for a workshop and so on and so forth. I have it set up so that every time I create a new project - based on the project I select, the are a number of tasks that will be automatically generated. I am now hoping to make it so that when a “Program Start Date” is entered, the “Task Due Date” will auto populate a deadline for each task based on a formula that aligns with our overall event timelines. Based on some previous community posts and through general research I see that the SWITCH formula might be the right way to go. I have this formula WORKDAY({Release Date},-{weeks out in #days}) it returns the date that I need but if there is a cell with Release Date empty, it returns #ERROR. I have tried this formula IF( AND( {Release Date}, {weeks out in #days} ), DATETIME_DIFF({weeks out in #days},{Release Date},‘date’), BLANK()) it removes the #ERROR on the cells that it should, but it puts #ERROR in all of the date fields, I lose the dates that I need. I have tried this formula WORKDAY({Release Date},-{weeks out in #days}, BLANK()) this one puts #ERROR in all cells. what I need: the first formula that returns dates, but if the {Release Date} cell is empty, I want to see a blank rather than #ERROR.

Surely this is an easy formula, but I just can’t get my brain to bend this way: I am using Airtable for my timesheet for my employees. I would like to improve upon my existing “Total Hours” formula by showing “Total Hours by task” , and each task is a single select item in another field. Here’s my “Total Hours” formula currently: DATETIME_DIFF({Time Out},{Time In},‘minutes’) / 60 Field for the different tasks is aptly named: “Task” Specific Single Select is “Teaching” Please help! Hi there, I noticed that the HTML attachment preview seems to be unable to render Unicode characters. Characters like typographic apostrophes or em-dashes turn into garbage character sequences. (See attached screenshots.) Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround available?

Hi Community, I have a table with multiple records. Each record has the name of a colleague in the first column/field, an email in the second column, a link for that email in the third column, and the weekday in the fourth column. E.g., Record 1: Simon, simon.g@gmail.com, URL 1, Thursday Record 2: Jack, jack.f@gmail.com, URL 2, Thursday I need to send the links to the email addresses for each person. Since each link is specifically designed for that colleague, I would have to send individual emails to each colleague. Is there a way to automate the process? So that by every Friday, Airtable could automatically send URL 1 to Simon and URL 2 to Jack, and so on for every colleagues. Thanks!

Hello, I am new here. I am also new to formulas. Have managed to work out the formula to calculate the number of 12hr shifts between two date/time fields. ROUNDUP(((DATETIME_DIFF({DepartureDate},{ArrivalDate},‘minutes’) /60 ) /12), 0) My struggle is that shifts are from 06:00 to 18:00 day shift and 18:00 to 06:00 night shift. Therefore if a start time is any time between 06:00 and 18:00 I need it to 'snapback to the default start 06:00. And the same for if the start time is any time between 18:00 and 06:00, I need it to ‘snapback’ to the default start 18:00. Bearing in mind that these are date and time fields formatted YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm. Can anybody help with the correct formula? I hope my explanation makes sense!

Depsite @Justin_Barrett’s help last time, I still cannot figure out simple regex patterns. This time, I’m combining in a roll-up year and value and am trying to extract the value based on a date. IF( AND(Date, Values), REGEX_EXTRACT( Values, "(?:" & DATETIME_FORMAT(Date,"YYYY") & " )([^,])")) For example Values: 2023 530,2022 480, Date: 2022 Result: 480 Preferably each string would be Year:Value,Year:Value… but I was afraid the double dot may me some reserved character and dropped it.

Hello! I was wondering is there a way to do what this screenshot shows with a formula? I want to use the output of that formula to update an automation to change a single select field to show when the project is due. We can’t use the color feature anymore because we are trying to switch over to interfaces and unless I completely missed it, there isn’t a way to have the color feature on a record review interface. Any help would be great!

Hello, For my plant tracker I’ve been using a formula to give me an estimated date of transplanting. This has been working fine. Now I want to add a check-box, so that when I plant something in-ground and i check this, the Estimated date of transplanting box will return an N/A vallue. I got all of this to work but I have a problem with how to date is formatted. As you can see the last column has a different date format. This is the code: IF({In-ground} = 1, “N/A”, IF({Germination Date}, DATEADD({Germination Date},{Estimated days to Transplanting}+0,‘days’),IF({Estimated germination date}, DATEADD({Estimated germination date},{Estimated days to Transplanting}+0,‘days’)))) I tried to add a BLANK() after the DATEADD so I can change it in the formatting tab but it doesn’t work. I think I have to add a DATETIME_FORMAT but i’m not sure where to add it in this formula. Thanks for your help!

I have a base that has a table for tags, a table with a list of clients, and a table with images in the images table I have images, a lookup field for the tags from the tags table, and then a lookup field for client client A’s red tagged images are image 1 and image 4 client B’s red tagged images are images 2 and 3 in the client tag sets base, I specify which tags belong to each client (tags can overlap) client A: red, green client B: yellow, orange, red both client A and B have images tagged ‘red’ in the tags table, it shows each of the tags, the images containing each tag and the client tag sets I’m having trouble figuring out how to create a grid view within the tags table that will show the images tagged ‘red’ but only if their client is client A. and then another grid view that shows images tagged ‘red’ but only if their client is client B.

I’m working on managing a fleet of vehicles and im trying to automate things that happen when my “Fuel Log” table is updated. Currently new records are entered via a form by my drivers, I would then like to have the Mileage and Engine Hours that were entered into the new record from that form update on a separate table that i store general information for each of my vehicles on. Currently the tables are “Fuel Log” and “Assets” “Fuel Log” houses a list of entries updated daily by drivers when recording their post trip information, it is ever expanding and I GROUP it by date. “Assets” houses a static list of the vehicles we use, and is only there to contain general information about each vehicle, VIN, Mileage, make, model etc. There are never any new records in this table, only updates to specific records in this table. I am building an archive of the activities of my amateur theatre company. The main table is productions - for each production I have a number of fields that relate to people - Author(s)/Director(s)/Cast/Crew. These are linked to tables so that I can see all directors and what they have directed, all authors and what they have written etc. Now, in this group, someone might write one production, direct a different one, act in another and be backstage crew in another. I would love to be able to have a People table where it shows that Joe Bloggs as an actor in XXX, crew in YYY - so you get an overview of everything Joe has done across all productions. At the moment Joe is listed once in Actors and once in Crew. Any suggestions as to how I do that? The Base is here: Airtable - Brussels Amdram Theatre Archive
