I have a table organized by educator name. I’m trying to create a column that pulls the FIRST occurrence of coaching from a separate base, so we can see on what day each teacher had their first meeting with their instructional coach. The dates vary widely, so I’m not sure how to write this formula. Each coaching session has a unique ID: “[Coach Name] [Teacher Name] [Type of Meeting] [Date]”. I’m hoping that it’s possible to write a formula that can find all of the unique IDs for a particular teacher, and then show me just the oldest one (which would be the first in the school year). I’m a pretty new user of Airtable, so thanks for your patience with what may be a basic question :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi everyone, Hitting a bit of a wall with some formulas and wondering if anyone has a more elegant solution to this… I’m working on a new base that records start and end dates of some work that we do. I then have a datetimediff that calculates the number of days that the record was running (see mocked up example below). We compile reports annually, and I regularly need to show days of work that only fall within the previous calendar year. At the moment I calculate this by pulling off a CSV, adjusting the start and end dates to only cover the range and do a DATEDIF in Excel. Can anyone think of an automated/conditional way of only counting days that fall within a certain calendar year? As you can see above, reporting for 2021 would involve projects 2 and 3, and reporting for 2022 would involve projects 1 and 3. Any thoughts/ideas?

Hello dear community members, I hope you’re doing great. I am requesting your help because I would like to use a script, so that when a partner edits a Linked Field (here ‘Status’) in his Table View, it will directly compare its value to the Status of the client in my Lead Table (lookup field) to update it, based on the one the partner selected. I was using “edit shared view” before but it has been removed by Airtable, and I tried different options but seems the “only way”. I already have different synced tables within my main base, and I manage to organise everything between them, but he cannot work for this specific need of editable view. Because the “Status” that is to be chosen from the partner in its view is creating a duplicate in my ‘Status’ table, and thus do not update my CRM, which therefore do not stop/ launch my sequencing and is a big problem for me because it means I will/or will not send email to people who should receive/or not one. Hello, I have formatted the date but the hour displayed shows 1 hour less. How can I display the exact time in hours and minutes in the field {date formatted} ? The formula I use is : DATETIME_FORMAT({Time slots},‘DD-MM-YYYY à HH:mm’) How can we solve this ? :thinking:

Looking for help creating a formula to output one of these answers based on a person’s meeting start date and the completed date of the program. Meeting Status field (formula): • Done • ToDO • NA • Upcoming My fields are- • Meeting Start Date – • Program Date • Current Date Field If a person has a meeting start date of 11/1/2022 and the program date is 12/1/2022 then the field should output “NA” If a program is scheduled for a future date, then the output should be “upcoming”- If a person hasn’t completed the program, the output should be “ToDo” If a person completed the program, then the output should be “done” I appreciate any help.

Hi, I want to create a field that will change based on the results of a single select field. For example, my single select options are [1, 2, 3, 4]. In another field I want to report options [A, B, C, D]. I want to choose A if the next column is 1, B if the single select option is 2, C if the single select option is 3, etc. Thanks!

Hey all your Airtable users, I’m trying to use AirTable to do some of my accrual accounting for a small school, we used to do it via Google Sheets in a relatively manual process. I want to recreate something like this, but using a webhook to receive information from stripe, and automatically filling up the amount received, split into the months according. The problem lies therein. The students pay in a lump sum of 8 lessons, and each lesson is, for example every Monday of the month. The students can join at any point of the month. So for example: Student A goes to class on Mondays and joins us on 7 Nov 2022 So on 7 Nov 2022, Student A pays us let’s say $80 This $80 covers the dates 7 Nov 14 Nov 21 Nov 28 Nov 5 Dec 12 Dec 19 Dec 26 Dec So on the accounting, it should show that Student A paid $40 in Nov and $40 in Dec But let’s say Student B joins us in 31 Oct, and pays $80. Hi everyone, I’m trying to build rollup fields using the enterprise api endpoint listed here. But I keep getting 422 errors, even when I try to create basic fields such as auto numbers. I am new to Airtable and having a hard time finding solutions in other threads, so thank you in advance for any help you can provide! I have two tables: one is “Courses” and one is “Workshop Planning.” I have an automation that creates a new record in Workshop Planning every time a record is added to Courses. I fill the Workshop Planning records with tasks to be completed for each course. The Workshop Planning table is grouped by Course name in order to keep all relevant tasks together. What I would like to do is show the percent of tasks completed in the Workshop Planning table, in the Courses table. So each Course record would have a “% Completed” column that would automatically calculate as tasks are marked Complete in the Workshop Planning record. Is there a way to do this? It would be very helpful for managing our team workflow. Thanks!

Hey, I have a table where I have a formula column that automatically generates an Airtable form link that prefills a few data such as name and email before sending it. What I noticed is after someone fills out the form and submits it, a new row is created rather than Updating/appending the row I used to create the formula, does anyone know how to resolve this?

I’m having an issue when I try and tag an individual with their Slack ID in an automation I’m making. When I test the Slack message, it’s sending back the Slack ID number rather than their Slack name. I’ve attached a few screenshots of what is happening in both the testing area and in Slack itself. It’s obviously getting the information, but I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong that I can’t get it to list the person’s slack handle. Thanks for any help!

Hi, I’m trying to create an interface that shows only the status “To send” and not other status. As you can see in “Status 2( from Report)” there is also the status “Done”, I would like to filter the data. I tried to filter the interface in this way: But it didn’t solve my problem. I have three tables in one base. In each table, there is a Name field and a checkbox field named “Flag”. How do I create one “grid” (or interface or anything else) that lists only the record names from all three tables that have the Flag checkbox checked?

Perhaps I’m missing something, but for whatever reason I cannot get a list of bases available to me using the latest OAuth API integration. When creating a formula field with an IF statement where I want to check the value being returned before deciding to use that value or display something else I run into an issue where it seems terribly inefficient to have to basically have to call all the functions twice. IF({INSERT CONDITION HERE WITH A LOT OF FUNTIONS} > 0, {INSERT CONDITION HERE WITH A LOT OF FUNTIONS}, “NO”) Is there any way to avoid having to basically calculate a value for something twice when using it in an If statement? I’d hate to have to make a field just to hold calculated values that are only useful so that the IF statement doesn’t need to calculate the same thing twice. Our fields are already a bit bloated as it stands. Any creative solutions?

I am getting in inexplicable result from a RIGHT(SEARCH()) formula. My .csv import includes the field [Payroll Name} formatted as LastName, FirstName. I found a name reversal formula on this thread: RIGHT({Payroll Name}, SEARCH(‘,’, {Payroll Name})-2)&’ ‘&LEFT({Payroll Name}, SEARCH(’,', {Payroll Name})-1) The formula returns the last name correctly, but the first name returns a maddening variety of results. Some first names are correct, others include the comma and space from {Payroll Name}, some include the last letter of the last name, or remove the first, second, or third letter of the first name as shown below (The FirstName and LastName fields are the respective portions of the {Name} formula, shown for clarity). I have tried a variety of values for “-1” and “-2” (among other things), with unsatisfactory results. Of course I can correct the first name problem in Excel before importing, but I am super curious about how to fix it in Airtable. What is going on here? How d

Hi everyone! After checking several topics I still couldn’t find something to solv the problem I’m facing, so here I am. We have a table called Tasks and the following fields are important for this: Due Date (Date field) Completed (Checkbox) Completed within due date (formula) We added a Last modified time field to look to Completed field, so it returns the date that collaborator finished the task. To compare the date that Completed was checked with the due date, I tried the following: IF({Due Date} = {Last modified time},“1”, IF({Due Date} > {Last modified time},“1”, IF({Due Date} < {Last modified time},“0”))) The problem is even if Due Date and Last time modified has the same date, the formula field is returning 0 and my guess is beacause of the time. Due date was not created with time - because it doesn’t metter for us - but if we allow time, it shows “11/16/2022 00:00”. So Last time modified will always be after due date since we will always finish our task after 00:00. And

Hello, This topic has been discussed many times among all the Airtable experts but it has remained similar since it was started. Airtable provides many features in UI or using Interfaces but when you talk about making integration with other tools or using some programming language it still lacks features and also limits in accessing data via API. We can understand that Airtable want to control everything(every request) and they need to make sure that security is not broken by using API and developer options. But I think they give at least some built-in options so developers can use it. For example: If I’ve to access more than 10k records in my custom build CRM/Software, I’ve to make 100 requests with their specific rate limit to fetch that data. If I need to filter some data directly it’s still really slow. I can able to access the base schema or update any basic fields( Manage select field via API is super useful). There are lots of things.
