I use a lot of linked records.Occasionally I have an issue where a [Record from table A] is deleted (by a user or automation with script) which triggers the deletion of a [Record from table B] it is linked to (by a user or an automation). Because changes to from [Record from table A] look up fields in Table B trigger other automations, these automations start running before Record from table B is deleted. However Record from Table B has finished deleting before the other automations have finished. This isn’t really a major issue, but it is an alert in airtable and my emails that I need to check to make sure something else isn’t going wrong.  Is there a clever way I can simply check if the record still exists as a conditional action in running the automation? I realise this could be resolved by redesigning other automations, but that will require redesigning several dozen.

I am new to Airtable so forgive me if this is an easy answer. I have searched the forum and can not find the solution. I want to sum a field with several records {days worked}, by group {name}. I have accomplished this by grouping by {name} and the result shows in the group bar. I want to use the results of this in another formula calculation, in a different table. I’ve managed to get Markup URLs {[Text](URL)} working when sending emails by automating a field to be written with an automation. However, I’ve lost the ability to separate lines in the email. So, this automation:Gives me this (one is grid and one is line):Any thoughts on how I might be able to throw a line break between these items?

This automation is designed to automatically update two fields of a newly created record submitted via form. Neither of the fields being updated by the automation is "Formula Name", which is the field that appears to be causing the failure. Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

 I am looking for the best way to set up an Airtable to keep track of a lot of book publishing details with minimal repetitive data entry and as human proof as possible. I’m on the free plan.  The situation:I have several book series (Power of Five, Dragons, Talonswood, Trident, Draken). Each book series has multiple books. Each book can be published in multiple formats (ebook, paperback, hardback, discrete paperback, discrete hardback). Each book is being translated into multiple languages (English, German, French, Italian). After translation, each book, in each format, needs to be uploaded to several platforms (KDP, Kobo, Ingram, Tolino, D2D). Not all books get uploaded to all platforms. For example, English language books don’t get uploaded to Tolino.  I need to somehow keep track of this mess so me and my assistant know what’s been done and what hasn’t. Also would be good to keep track of an error log so we know what’s needs to be fixed.  how would you set this up??

I set up an interface for reviewing and managing customer credit limits and I can’t figure out how to set a field to display with the numbers right-aligned.It would look so much better and be more readable with the currency values right-aligned the way they should be! 

Hello. I am working on a form to list specific medications, the vendor it originates from, cost, qty, etc. I’d like to be able to input the brand names of medications into the form and have the generic names of that specific medication auto-populate in a field below the brand name on the form and in the grid view. I’ve tried creating a separate table and inputting the medication brand and generic names in a list, but I cannot figure out how to use conditional formatting (or lookup) to populate the generic name in the form. Hopefully this makes sense. I’m struggling to describe what I’m looking for. Example: Single Line Text Field: Medication Brand Name - Adrenaline Conditional Field: Medication Generic Name (to auto-populate) - Epinephrine

Airtable has come a long way from when I first started where I had to pair it with Excel to get earnings and cashflow projections for my small freelance business. I now have four extensions that give me data I used to have to calculate with Excel, but I’m missing the fifth that would let me ditch Excel completely, and this extension needs the following formula: Projected Available Next Month - Fixed Number=“Left to Earn (negative)/Rollover (positive).”I have the first part to get these numbers and then I have the method to use the answer of the equation to redistribute those numbers in AT according to whether I’m short or flush, but I cannot get that middle calculation in AT.FWIW because my income is so variable, this data lets me even out my earnings and pay myself a regular paycheque. I started doing it manually on paper, then with Excel, then I started in AT and continually improved my base as more features came available. I have automation where if number in employee table is above 6 trigger automation, If I manually select record and run automation it works as it should.. Just not sure why its not being triggered.So employee was at 7, I created another entry using interface, It moved to 8. Automation did not run.  

Does "commenting" an entry count as a modification regarding the default value "last modified date" ?Thanks !

Hi, I’m looking for a formula that will flag when a name is appearing in different columns in the same row. This is to flag scheduling conflicts. Column A, Column B, Column C, Column DParticipant X, Participant X, Participant Y, Participant Z Here is my current formula for 2 columns:IF(AND({Column A} != "", {Column A} = {Column B}),"Duplicate")It works. But when I try to add more columns, it breaks down. Can anyone help? Or is there another method altogether?

Hi all,I have a list layout in Interface which allows users to click into records.  In the page which loads, I have a list block which shows a list of players who have played a game.  I have it set up to allow users to add new players to that list.  It works as expected on desktop, but not on the mobile Interface.  On mobile any existing players are visible, but there's no button to add a new player to the list.Is this a feature that just hasn't come out yet or am I missing something super obvious lol?  TIA!

Have automation to run when record is created, When record is created, It will set added_date, add_by(person email) and set record as active. It does 2 of 3… It doesnt add person email address. What could I be doing wrong?   

Hey all,I would like to update the access for some base collaborators who currently have full access to base & Interface to Interface-only access (these users were already shared as collaborators before it was possible to share an Interface without giving access to the base).In this case, does anyone know if I have to entirely delete these users from the base and then re-share them as Interface-only contributors (with the 'Allow access to data in the base' unchecked upon share)?Thanks in advance!

Hello appreciate the community’s help here. I am uploading a CSV file on a weekly basis (the data is from application form submissions on google form). So every week I am getting new applications in. I uploaded last week matched the fields and all was good. I even started reviewing and syncing some applications on the airtable base. I had 10 applications last week. This week I got 17 more. So I downloaded CSV file (business as usual). I went to airtable and uploaded and suddenly i realize it created 27 new records. I proceed and on the base I find 10 old records + 17 new records (out of which 10 are duplicates from the old upload). How can I prevent this from happening, appreciate your support.

We are using Airtable to organise our plant nursery. We need it to track the stock of plants in the nursery and match to orders etc. Its a bit different to normal stock tracking where we might track "current stock" by adding to stock when we get in stock and subtracting as orders go out because we have to grow the plants from seed and there are often plants dying, not being good quality etc. So we often have to go out and count the actual plants in good condition on the tables to get an accurate idea of stock count. But we also want to be able to subtract from the stock count automatically as stock is sent out. So we have a conflict between what we want to enter as our current stock levels - if we have a calculation in the current stock field - auto subtracting deliveries - we can't simply type in a number when we do a manual stock count. Any suggestions on how to resolve this ?

Hi!I’m writing a script that will create a QR code that you can scan to open a record. It works to open in the data view without issue. But I need to have it go to an Interface.If I open an interface on the desktop browser then right click on a record, then click on "copy device URL", that URL will work on the iPhone. I can paste that URL into a note and when I click it, it opens the Airtable app and goes directly to the record in the Interface. Exactly what I want.The catch is, that URL has a bunch of extra base64 encoded stuff. Hi guys,I have an Airtable base with several tables, including one for “persons” and another for "sectors".The "sectors" tables link persones to fields specific to a sector.In the interface, for a specific sector, I had created a Kanban view where the stacking field was set to the ”person” :“Person” stacking field is availableHowever, after changing the interface, I noticed that I could no longer select the "person" field as the stacking field.“Person” stacking field doesn’t appearI have tried to replicate the table from the older version but I can’t manage to make the “Person” stacking field appear again.Could you please help me understand what might be causing this issue? Thank you! Marino

HI there - I’m about to pull my hair out and have been trying to figure this automation out for several hours now. I have a table called “Field Enrollment” where I am tracking “Producers” with their unique farm #, tract #, and field #. I have a concatenate formula to give me “Farm Key” which is Producer & Farm. I have a second table called “Producer Enrollment” that I want to be auto populated by the Farm Key. However, there are cases like in my example where there are duplicate Farm Keys and I only want the one. (A bit more context: In Field Enrollment we are required to track data related to the unique Farm/Tract/Field. In Producer Enrollment, we are required to track other types of data related to the TOTAL farm, so essentially a roll -up from Field Enrollment.) How do I create the unique record?!   Example Field Enrollment table: Example Producer Enrollment table:  Here’s the automation I thought would work and is saying is working (but it’s not)  

I ran into a strange problem in an automation.I am using a script to gather some data from two tables and combine it into a rich-text field. In the next step, I send out an e-mail with the content of this field. Turns out the e-mail is sent before the script has updated the text field!Even adding a 3 second delay in the script does not solve the issue.Curious if someone has a solution in place?Thank you!

Hi all,Have been scouring the web, AirTable support and various AI platforms to get an answer to this, but no joy so far. I am trying to set up automation to sync changes between Google Calendar and Airtable, including updates and deletions. AirTable support instructed me to set up triggers for new events, updated events and cancelled events. I am doing this on an empty table at the moment just to test it out.
