I have a question regarding the page designer extension. How to make the data fields automatically adapt to the amount of data to display and for the extension to create as many pages as necessary? I am setting up a contract. This contract contains a “travellers” paragraph. Under each traveler, page designer displays the information concerning him (package chosen, date of departure, date of return, details of flights, details of accommodation, etc.). The number of travelers naturally varies from one contract to another. There are contracts with 1 single traveler and others with 40 travellers. On page designer the reserved field does not adapt to the amount of data. In addition, we only have the right to 1 single page!! How to solve this problem? Thanks

Heya everyone!So I noticed that on the Airtable update API endpoint they note about upserts:Airtable reserves the right to throttle upsert requests differently from the standard rate limit throttling policy.Intuitively, I’d assume that differently means that they’re more strict about it as they’d be doing comparisons on their end.Does anyone know whether upsert is throttled more aggressively than plain updates? I’d assume so but I thought I’d get it cleared up.Thanks!

I have a base that is largely used for planning.I have a lot of automations. Often one action sets off a chain of 4-5 automations.Because I use this base for planning, records get deleted often as part of my workflow (i.e. I change my mind).An unfortunate, unexpected irritation with this is that reasonably often, an action will set off an automation > I delete the record before the automation is finished (these are usually simple automations "if Record A Field A = x, update Record B field A" - most are not long and convoluted).And so, I have a significant and frequent number of "failed automation: record not found" emails and notifications.Is there any way to prevent this happening?

Hello, I’m new to Airtable, (trying to help a friend build an efficient solution) and I’m looking for some advice. We have a form with a rather large multi-select field. Users must enter their name, date and select any number of options from the multiselect field. The information comes into the table in the way you would expect: But in order for it to work with my friend’s processes (and existing tables) they need a way to break the record up (ideally on form submission) into multiple records: I found a way to do it with automations. I created an automation for each Option to check to see if that option has been selected, and then create a new record. Unfortunately, this is time consuming and will not scale well. Can you recommend how to build an automation script (or other solution) that can automatically parse the multi-select field into multiple records, one for each selection? Thank you,

Howdy good people!Hoping someone can advise with a product code lookup scenario. Our team sells training subscriptions. New subscribers submit airtable forms to notify of catalog onboarding. Each subscription is tied to a certain product (9 product types currently). Product name auto-populates in a multi-select 'Product' field upon form submission in an 'Offline Subs' table. Each product has a set unique code stored in another table (Product Codes). We need to auto lookup and match the product name with corresponding product code and auto populate this in a 'product code' field in the 'Offline Subs' table (see attached). Playing around with lookup fields and can't see an automation option, imagining that this will require a script to achieve?I don't have any coding/scripting experience so hoping someone can share a similar successful script or use case experience. Any assistance greatly appreciated. 🙂

Hi everyone! Our library uses an Airtable base for approving programs, some of which are one-time and others are repeating. We’re running into a problem where we’re sometimes overbooking on a single day (this is across multiple branches, so we have the room, but we try not to host too many programs on one day) and we’d really like to see all our programs on a calendar view. The problem is with the recurring programs. Right now, the base is set up with a text field where programmers put in their dates (e.g. “every third Wednesday from 11-12”) but obviously Airtable can’t read that. We could set up individual date fields for each occurrence, but some of these programs are staples, held dozens of times a year and would necessitate dozens of date fields. As a work around, I tried making a separate “Calendar” table with the dates as primary fields, and then in the main table, the date field became a linked record field. Hello there, I want to create a form in Softr, connected to my Airtable DB, where my employees will input their availabilities for “next week”, so I need to generate automatically the “next week” concept. I have created a table “weeks”, with the following columns :Week number Year To generate the concept of “is next week”, I want to create a date field “today” that updates automatically on a daily basis, and then in the field “is next week”, put a formula. However, I don’t know how to automate the update of the date at “today’s date” . Can you please help ? :) 

HelloI have a table, shown in Interfaces as a list and I designed a complex Record Detail. I have duplicated the list for convenience in a different interface - thinking I could amend it in the second interface (I only need a button), but it seems the two record details are linked, I cannot edit one alone. Is there a way to un-duplicate the two record details, without having to rebuild the list and record details? 

Hello I am trying to share an interface to new users as view-only. This shared interface should be as low-effort as possible, immediate access to the table and the detailed records, nothing else. Instead the invited user is asked to sign-up (for free), is shown an horrible and totally irrelevant App Builder process and shown he has 14-days free account. This is totally unacceptable for us: is that how it is supposed to work?  How do expert users of Airtable do this? Is it possible to embed the interface somewhere else? Or do we need to build in our website these interfaces via API? 

Hi Everyone, I’ve been searching the community pages and it seems that there is no way to create PDF’s automatically from templates created using Page designer, is that right? I’ve created the field type ‘Button’ to click which displays the document in the page designer app perfectly. But, I then have to manually save it as a PDF. What I’d like, is to be able to click the button and for that document to be automatically downloaded and saved as a PDF file. Surely this must be possible? It just seems crazy that the button can produce the document but can’t save the file. Am I missing something? What do people use the Page Designer app for if not to create documents which they then want to attach and send to their customers? Thanks, Rosa

I have a Form that is submitted and an automation to respond with the same attachments to every form requestor. I realize I cannot add just a add a PDF straight to that field in the automation for emails. SO My question is how do I somehow get it to pull up and attach the same document to every form request? I am wondering also what it means to add an attachment via Table and Field Id’s , can i reference an attachment in a certain record? : These are the options on what I can add as an email attachment.  

I think this formula IF({Last Deployment} = 'MM/DD/YY', 'MM/DD/YY', "*") says: IF (the value of the field Last Deployment is a date, show the date, otherwise pop in an asterisk (instead of #ERROR!)) But what I’m getting now is either an  * or #ERROR! - pretty much the opposite of what I am trying to accomplish. Help!

About revision history… Is it possible to export the data of revision history? not even over the API? With user accessing to over the portal, without base access, is the revision history working too? does it record who (name or email) is adding/changing this or that?Thanks

I’m looking for a way to track all the members of my teams workload. By that I mean I would like to imput a specific amount of time that they work each day, week, or month and then add the estimated time to complete to each of their tasks. That way I can easily check to see if someone has too many tasks for the amount of hours they actually work, or if someone has un-used time I can schedule specific tasks to them rather than someone who is completely full.

I unable to add a new record by searching and linking to employee by searching for first name. I have two tables. A occurrence table, and employee table.This inputs into occurrence table. Only link between occurrence and employee table is employee ID. Any recommendations?   

Hi everyone!I’m working on a workflow in Airtable where I want to automatically generate rows in a second table (CostComponents) based on new or updated records in a first table (Employees).In my specific use case, I want to create a predefined set of rows depending on the “Resource Type” of an employee (“Existing employee”, “New hire”, or “Freelancer”). For example:    •    For “Existing employee” → generate 16 rows    •    For “New hire” → generate a different set of rows    •    For “Freelancer” → generate yet another set of rowsEach generated row has static fields like “Cost Component”, “FTE”, and other data pulled from the Employees record.I’m currently using Airtable Automations with “When record created” and “When record updated” triggers, combined with a Run script action. The script seems to run, but doesn’t create the rows. I’m curious:    •    Is this the best (or most scalable) approach?    •    Are there other ways to handle this kind of row-generation logic within Airtabl

I’m trying to use the SUBSTITUTE function to get rid of emojis so I can have a “clean” version of some fields my client want to have as downloadable in .CSV I need to have a formula with a bunch of substiutions, but I started from the very first and I get nothing but errors, formula atm looks like this:SUBSTITUTE({Respuesta Pregunta 1},'✅','')I realised the error has something to do with the type of field of {Respuesta Pregunta 1} as it is a lookup field, just for testing I created a single text field next to it, copy the data of the lookups to the new text field, applied the formula to the text field, and it works. So I’m suspecting SUBSTITUTE doesn’t work with lookups? Any ideas to work this out?

Hey Guys! Hoping everyone is well. I'm finding myself wanting to bulk-update records by a specific field and I'm wondering if this is possible? Does anyone know? Is there a script or anything? See the two fields? "Goes out to" and "Status"? Both are single select and currently I need to update each record individually which is time-consuming on some of our tables. They can have hundreds of records that need updating. What I would loooooove to be able to do is select multiple records and update the statuses on the selected records in one action. Anyone have a way to do this?

I have to put into place a secure Data base that I can generate a form from and when it's completed populates the Data base. I would like the feature where for that particular information I can generate a QR code, so if scanned the information associated with that form can be read. when scanning the QR code 2FA authentication is required. Is this possible in Airtable. If so could I have directions as to how to get this going. I want to try and do this myself if I fail I will ask for assistance or a developer to do it for me

Hi I receive email orders and would like to add the received emails to the order record in my Airtable. Tried a drag and drop but this transfers the message from Outlook as a .msg, which can’t be read. Occasionally there are multiple emails, and I would like to have them all in the same place, with the particular order. Any help appreciated!

I’ve seen a lot of requests for specifying Today() as a prefill option for a date field, but I haven’t been able to find any asking whether you can pass Airtable a specific date as a prefill option. Is this a thing?

I'm setting up an automation to find records from webhook data. The field I need to match appears grayed out by Airtable with an error, "No valid nested options". Please see image.I've never seen this error message before, and a google search was of little help.Can you help explain what this error message means and how to resolve it?Thanks!
