Maybe this question has already been answered. However, I search for it and found nothing.I'm a new user. Is there a way to make kanban boards more colorful like adding background colors? It seems that kanban boards are mostly black text on a white background when using Airtable on the web. It would be easier on the eyes if the white background could be changed to another color of my choosing. I'd also like to change background colors for each category and each task if possible.Thanks.

When I linked field data from table A into the field on table B, I noticed that there were fields that created automatically on table A. that linked with table B. How can I stop this action? I only want data from table A to show in table B. Thank you : ))

Hello!I would like to tag some records based on the text content in a column (ie: if Title contains "Tour" tag Tours). Feels like it should be pretty straightforward but I can't figure out how? Thanks! For more context: I imported all of my team's events from Outlook and realized Airtable doesn't support the "Category" feature, so I want to add tags to these events so that we can break down the data. I figured I could probably do that based on title or other key words.  Thanks in advance!

When our students graduate they want to preserve the information that's in their Airtables. What is the recommended way to do this? I'm pretty sure there's an Excel plug-in that would allow them to dump everything into Excel and preserve it as a local file. Are there any other recommendations? Or is there a way to maintain access to their Airtables in perpetuity? On a related note, what happens to the students' accounts once they graduate? 

Is there a foolproof way to do this? I use CTRL-X and CTRL-V, but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...and it may depend on whether the columns and views are arranged the same way between the source and target tables. 

Hi there, I think this question has been asked in other threads - but I didn’t find a straight answer to that. Is it possible to share an org chart app extension outside Airtable? I can’t find a way or workaround to do so - only downloading it as a pdf. It would be amazing to be able to have the same browsing experience (zoom in and out, collapse sections and so forth) but in a sharable link to be used somewhere else. PD: also adding a legend or some text would be nice too :slightly_smiling_face:

I am trying to write a formula ("Duration of Pending Repayment") that calculates how long an unpaid repayment is overdue.Essentially, it will be:If "Repayment Due Date" is not blankAnd "Repayment Received Date" is blankThen calculate Today-Repayment Due date. This part I got with DATETIME_DIFF(TODAY(),{Repayment Due Date},'days')I cannot figure out how to do the If/And with blanks, not blanks. I am using fixed for my rescheduling logic for date dependencies in my project management base. The primary reason I am using fixed is I need to be able to create buffers between dependent tasks (i.e. tasks with predecessors). Let's say task A is request a copy of bill from provider and task B is review bill.  I know that task A takes minimal time so I set it to start today and give it a duration of 1 day. Task B is also pretty straightforward and takes one day so I also set its duration for one day BUT it takes up to 30 days to receive a copy of the bill and it's out of our control so I want task b to start 30 days after task A ends. In the timeline view addressing this is pretty simple. I just define a buffer value for the dependency of task a and b.The challenge I am having is that when creating a project using a record template I can add the task A and B along with making task A a predecessor to task B thus enabling automatic calculation of task B's start date b

Hi 🙂I am trying to set an automation that will update a specific field based on the information that is on another table. The field I want to update is called Relatorio as shown bellow.I want to bring a field from another table that has the same number as the fiel (Item LV) from this table.Here is the picture from the table I want to retrieve the content from.I want to compare the ITEM LV from the first table and compare it to the ITEM from the last table and update the field RELATORIO from the first table with the content found on RESSALVA from the second. So every time ITEM = ITEM LV it should the update.The first table should be completed with aaaa on the first line, ddddd on the second and eeee on the third line.I setup the automation like this but it finds no records.Tks for the help

I have an automation that once an attachment field is not empty, it creates a new record in a different base with that attachment and a few other fields.Is there a way, that if the attachment field has more than 1 file, it will create a new record for each one of those files?

It would be incredibly useful if the Slack integration could send a message to a person pulled from a field in a table.As it stands, when using the Slack integration in an automation you have to choose (hardcode) the person(s) or channel(s) you want to send the message to.Use case: I have a table that syncs issues from a ticketing system. Each record has an "assignee" field. When a new record enters a view I want a Slack message sent to the person in the assignee field.

I have a table with a date field, an I want to link these dates to another table, but group them by month. This is so I can create rollups for monthly financial figures. I have tried to create an automation to auto fill in another field, using the date as its source and then converting the format to mmmm yyyy, from the usual dd/mm/yy. I then linked this field to the other table, but now the automation does not update it even if it runs successfully.Can anyone help solve this issue?

For example. If I have a form that invites people to provide information about their product which they do, is there a way for me to allow them in the future to "Edit" that information later if the price of description of the product changes?Thanks in advance. S

Hi, I'm relatively new to Airtable - still enjoying learning how to build neat things with it!I've noticed that when I'm testing my Airtable forms, my browser doesn't pop up the usual menu of autofill options for things like my name, email, address, etc. as usual. Is Airtable blocking this somehow? Can I un-block that? It certainly makes testing slower but more importantly, autofill helps users accurately enter common information, saving them time and reducing typos and other common errors. Example screenshot attached - starting to type my name doesn't offer to fill out the rest like it does on just about every other form on the web 🙃I searched Google and this community before posting but found almost nothing mentioning this, but got a lot of unrelated things since "Autofill" is often discussed in relation to formulxs [sic] etc. Sorry if this has already been asked.Thanks!-Chris

Hello,I'm trying to build a form where my team can submit a PTO request.I set two date fields, one for date when they want to start their PTO and one for their return date.So I would like to set the return date field to be after the start date.Is there any way to disallow people from entering the same or earlier date as their return date than their start date? I don't really mind how it's done (ie. pop up message, greying out any dates on or prior to the start date on the calendar), but just a way so that people won't be able to proceed to submit their request unless they put a date after their start date as the return date.Any input would be appreciated. Hi,The Typeform extension in Airtable is repeatedly failing to connect (screenshots at the bottom of this post). I have written multiple emails to Airtable Support but the responses are vague and not very helpful so far.I want to create a Typeform that pulls data from certain fields in Airtable, and displays that data as options for certain selection-based questions in my form. Hello, I am attempting to create a “email merge” document template using Airtable that allows me to: Use rich text formatting (bold, bullets, etc. for email formatting), and Use reference fields in the text (for example “Hello {First Name}, your User Name is {User Name} and your Password is {Password}.” If I try to do this in Page Designer, I can do #2, but not #1 that I know of. If I try to do this in a Long Text Field, I can do #1, but not #2 that I know of. Any ideas? Thanks, ML

Hi all,I have an automations question that I hope someone can help me with.My company provides a programming service for clients. As we process the information received, Airtable sends an automatic email to the client letting them know what information we have and what we still need.When record is updated, send email to client.This is fairly simple and works well, however, we have employees who work at night or over weekends and do not  want emails going out to clients at funny times. Setting up the automation to trigger at a schedule time does not work because then I do not have the option of formatting the email based on specific record conditions. I would love to be able to have something check if it's during regular work hours, if so send the email, and if not, wait until the next regular business day and then send the email.Any advice on how to implement this?

AirTable whipped me up an amazingly impressive starter app - tables and forms - from a description of my needs.   (Which blew me away.)  I'm now trying to tweak at it to make it do some basic things.   The application manages the inventory of a seed sharing scheme for a horticultural society.   As you can see, it's done something really sensible as regards the tables needed.  (I added the gallery view of the seed types list.) AirTable has also made a nice little request form. What I'd like to whip up, is a public interface which shows something like the Gallery view, where on each of the cards, there is a link to a request form. When the form pops up, it is autopopulated with details of the seed packet being requested.  So the person requesting a seed packet will not have to enter the info about that specific item, but can request simply by supplying their email address.   (I'm not, at the moment, at all  concerned w

I would like to update a date field in a record, with the last time the automation executed. Is this possible in an automation, in the Update Record Action?If you choose static, you have to enter the field manually. If you choose a dynamic value, you are only allowed to choose from an existing field or data.  

Hi everyone,I've been struggling with counting all records from table A in table, B. I've read multiple forum posts and watched videos, but something is still not working ... so I've come here to ask for any insights. My understanding is that  I need to put all records from Table A into a single linked field in Table B, and then use a Count field to count them.  So I set this up, like in the imageThen, I went to Automations and set up two steps: Step one: look for any records and table that are not empty. (Table A is called "Entries" in my base)Step Two: Add an "update record" where the "Table" is the Table B ("Metrics" for me), Record ID is of where I want all the linked records to show, and under "Fields" I added the linked field, and said to show a "List of Records"...This gives "received invalid inputs"... Good afternoon (UK). I’ve just signed up for a year of Pro. I am surveyor dealing with commercial property and much of work overlaps with that of a lawyer. I’m not new to database design, having been using Filemaker for years (but only in flat form, not relational). Currently I use Clio (law practice but I’m finding it slows me up) and a combination of Devonthink Pro 3 and Scrivener for my law library. I am planning on using AirTable for my law library and for task management (client contacts, etc, property info, etc. I have added a couple of templates to get a rough idea. I have 2 questions. Would it be better to have a separate base for my law library or does it matter if one base contains dozens of tables? Where a field is for a person’s name, is it better to have two fields, one for first name, the other for surname, or one field only. tia

Hi everyone (reposting to correct category)I've created seemingly simple Zapier automations (zap) to bring subscription data into Airtable by creating/updating records in a Base table. While Zapier indicates success sending data to Airtable, no data shows up in Airtable base and table. I've been troubleshooting without success, so seeks suggestions here. Any thoughts are welcome!Zapier is connected to Airtable. I know this because I have another zap that works well with no issues to send the same source data to a different Airtable table in the same base. Also, I've confirmed that Zapier is "on" as a third-party app in Airtable Integrations.I have paid subscriptions to both platforms. In Zapier, I have not reached my task or zap limits, so that's not the issue. In building the zap in Zapier, the appropriate Base, Table, and fields in Airtable are available to select.
