So close to getting the whole base working the way I want I can see the light at the end. I think the final hold up is getting the "Find Records" step working properly.My automation triggers when a new record is created in "Trainings". hi Airtable users!I have a question regarding custom selection of Lookup Field Values in Linked Records.I have 2 tables (A and B). I setup a Linked Field and then 2 lookup fields in table A. This pulls in a Group name Category names from B.Now in Table A, I'd like to manually choose a specific Categories (based on categories from the lookup field).  The steps I'm trying: I choose a group (in the linked field), and then choose categories manually... but I can only see how to show ALL categories in the lookup field OR categories that meet certain conditions. But this is not what I want... I want to choose only specific categories, which vary for each record. There are no conditions for this.How would I do this? Maybe there is a formula?  Please help!How can I choose specific values based on a lookup field?Thank you

Oh, this one has me stuck!I have a table of 'Individuals' with an email address and a unique ID on one table, and on another 'Audit' table, I have audit line items with the linked ID. I would like to use a checkbox of 'publish' in the Individual tab to trigger an email that sends a table of relevant data to the right individual. Right now, I have a trigger or 'when records match' showing a few conditions including publish. then Find Records, then Repeat for each List of records, with a send email and appropriate grid in the email. Problem is, I can't convince the automation to sort these, so person A only get their results ,and Person B get theirs. It's a mash of results, not getting split per individual. Because the list of individuals will continue to grow, I can't create a view per individual.Can anyone see what I am missing here?

Are the record's previous values available in the "when record is updated" trigger?  I'd like to be able to compare the previous values with the current values and act accordingly.  Does this require a code step instead?

Hello there smart folks! I am building a base for small film productions, and the industry has some odd practices I have to work around. One of those is tracking scenes on scripts in page length in fractions - specifically 8ths.For my personal tracking I have a column that just holds the size in the total number of 8ths (so instead of showing 1/8 page it is 1, 1 and 3/8 pages is 11) which I can then total into total number of 8ths.I now need to convert that back into pages in fraction form to display on one of my reports. So say I have 10 scenes over 5 3/8 pages (so my total is 43). How do I create that 5 3/8 to display?I hope this makes sense!

I have a column of Job Names and would like to indicate which Job Names are unique in that column. Has anyone successfully done this? Essentially I want to do the opposite of checking for duplicates and returning duplicate values in a new column.

I'm trying to use an automation in a base, but there's something wrong with my flow. And it may be that what I'd ultimately like to accomplish isn't possible. In Base 1, I have a single-select field named "Status" with various color-coded options as variables to select from. In Base 2, I have a duplicate of the fields in Base 1, but none of the data. My goal: When the single-select field Status is changed to a particular option (in this case, "Delivered"), the record is copied from Base 1 (Active) and duplicated in Base 2 (Archive). But the flow I have is definitely not correct. So, one, is this possible? And, two, does anyone know what I need to adjust in the automation flow? Thanks so much for your time!

Background: Source table has no records, but fields have been configured. This is a blank copy from another base.Issue:  When in EDIT mode and with Creator access, Interface Layout "Record Review" does not show any page elements (page is blank) and does not allow me to add or remove elements.  I am unable to configure the interface page. I am only able to configure the "Record List".Request: Is there another way to add elements to a Record Review when the source table has no records? 

Hello,I have a very simple formula that is taking the values calculated from other fields and giving a total.  The problem I am running into is unless I have the formatting set to 5 decimal places the results will round.  For the work we are doing we need the data to not round, but the issue is for the exports we have to do to input the data into another system we have to remove the extra decimal places. Is there a way to keep the 2 decimal place formatting while preventing the rounding?For example if a value is 2543.54546 we would like it to be 2543.54, but if I change the formatting to two places the number ends up being 2543.55 which for reconciliation is a problem.  The values change daily so the direction of rounding also changes.  My formula is super simple {value1} - {value2}I did try adding the ROUND function, but that didn't seem to help at all.  ROUND({value1}-{value2},5) I tried various values for the precision and none of them did what I n

Hi there,I have two tables and an interface with a form. The first form is used to add an entry to the table. I have this displayed as a nice gallery.I wanted to add a button on the gallery, so the user can click the button on the record and it will take them to another form to request a change to that record. I've got about 90% there, but getting the field to prefill with the record_ID has been miserable. I've tried every combination and it just doesn't work.On the form I added a new field "Link to another record". I select my primary table and select some columns to bring in via lookup. It looks great, the user can use the drop down to view all submissions and select the one they want. I'm sure this an easy one - but I am stumped.  Here is the scenario: I want to create a view so I can send out a daily report that shows all records that are on tomorrow's service schedule, yesterday's service schedule, and 2 weeks ago service schedule.  The current airtable filter options of tomorrow and yesterday work great until it comes to the weekend - meaning on my Friday report, the Monday activity is not showing up and on my Monday report, the Friday activity is not showing up.  I have created formula fields that calculate the next work day but Im still stuck on how to filter it.  I tried to filter using "is after" "today" but then it gives me all records in the future when I just want the one next workday.  Maybe I am approaching this all wrong and making it more difficult than it is - but my brain is not computing 

I have created a blank interface where submissions that come in to the "Requests" table are used as the basis for creating records in the "Jobs" table.I've identified that the biggest potential for user error is not having the correct Job selected in the right-side dropdown. I'd like to limit the dropdown's selection to only Jobs that are linked to the Request that is selected in the left-side dropdown.Nothing I've tried so far has worked. Any ideas?

I am trying to track when i should expect a project back based on the amount of days given to return. The first return length is 70 days or 10 weeks. The second time it is submitted is 30 days return. Column: Submitted date: (constant)- user entered Columns: Expected Project Return (date) DATEADD({SUBMITTED Date }, 10, 'week')) This checks out good.  when I have a Resubmittal column(date) I would like the Expected Project Return Date to now show DATEADD({SUBMITTED }, 30, 'day')) So in short i want the expected return date column to update once the resubmittal date is updated. 

I'm using the CSV Import extension to import data into an existing table. I am trying to preserve a linked field relationship so that when data is imported, it does so into a linked field. I understand this is possible, however, the linked field I am working with is linked to a table that is synced from another base.When I try to import, I get an error message saying "You can't create records in 'Table' because it is a synced table." Are there any workarounds or is this just a limitation of Airtable? If I turn off the field (complete_machine_sn), I don't get an error message. At the end of the day, my goal is just to import the data and preserve the linked relationship, as I have downstream workflows that required that linked relationship.

Hello,I'm wondering if there's a workaround to import data into linked fields. For example, I'm importing monthly salary information to a data table and the employee name corresponds to the primary field of a different table. Airtable only imports the non-linked fields.Would it be possible to import the employee name as a different field then run a script to create the linked record ? Hey there,First of all thank you for your time and your help 😉I've made some pretty basic automation, when a record matches certain conditions, I trigger the action "send mail" (airtable default one). The field "To" is filled with a roundup type of field which has a formula "ARRAYUNIQUE(values)". It keeps the unique mails attached to the record.My issue is that it works 30% of the time. The failure to run is always caused by : "The "To" input is empty"Which is not, the field is never empty, it always has one or several mails. And it being not empty is a condition to trigger.I can't find what's common to success or common to failure.Any ideas ? 🙂  

Is there a way to put totals or aggregations at the bottom of (or any where for that matter) a list in Interfaces? I am not using the blank option - I'm using the Airtablke supplied ones because you cannot embed ones created from blanks into a website. They are always at the bottom of columns in the base grids. It is vey inconvenient to have to add things up with a calculator  every time Look something up. Is there an Automation that would do this?Thank, Scott

I'm using a Repeatable Group with an Update Record inside to take a list of records from a Find Records action and update a field in the found records. When the list of records contains only one record the test runs successfully. When the list of records contains more than one record I get a received invalid input error. I think I know why this is happening.If I look at the Input table after a test I see Record ID listed there followed by a single record id if only one record was found. If more than one record is found then I see Record ID followed by multiple record ids separated by commas. If this is what is being presented to the Update Record action of course this will cause an error. If I'm reading the documentation correctly the input from the Repeatable Group should be a separate Record ID followed by a single record id for each record found rather than a single Record ID followed by multiple record ids. I have this code that works well when filtering a field that is SIngle Line Text empName="Dummy Employee"let records = query.records.filter(record => record.getCellValue("Name") === empName); But If i want to filter a field that is a "Link to another record" field, it will not find it.let records = query.records.filter(record => record.getCellValue("Linked Name") === empName); I have a work around where I have a formula field that converts the value in the field "Linked Name" to a string, but i would like to tidy it up. Has anybody encountered such an issue? Thanks in advance   

I have a table with the following fields:Capacity Required - a number Capacity Provided - a roll up sum of a linked recordGap Remaining - the delta between Capacity Required and Capacity ProvidedI have another field called Status that looks at the Gap Remaining and provides a single select option The following are all nested, so will be triggered in order: If the gap remaining is negative, the status is "overstaffed"If the capacity required was 0 to begin with, the status is "N/A"If gap remaining is 0 the status is "fully staffed"if the gap remaining is less than the capacity required the status is "partially staffed"The status field behaves as expected for 1207 records in my table.
