Hello, Sorry for bad English. I created a payment tracker, which allow me to track every rent from tenants. You can find the sheet here (translate in English). Usually, rents are grouped by tenants, but for the translation I do not have copy them. When I receive a payment, I write on the record the date of receipt, the means of payment and I check the “Done” field. To quickly see what rent I need to claim for the month, I am looking for a formula that shows “LATE PAYMENT” in red for every rent that I do not receive when the “Due” date is over. Exemple : Every rent for September must be paid at least on 5th September. If a tenant do not paid the rent on 6th September, the formula field in “Rent of September” will be shows “LATE PAYMENT” in red. Can you please tell me what formula I need to write to make this happen ? Thanks.

Hi new to Airtable, and getting stumped combining data on 1 table from 2 other tables. using 1 table to reference another table. The setup is: I have 3 tables Staff/Projects/Billing, in the projects table I assign staff to a project and count the hours in the staff table I have each staff member and their rate and location in the billing table I list a billing line item link it to a project and then from the projects table I pull in the assigned staff member and the hours worked. I then want to perform a lookup on the staff table using the staff name pulled from the projects table, using this to get the country and the price. But this is where I am getting stumped. The obvious answer is that I pull the staff data to the projects table and then pull that data again to the billing table, but I want to avoid the doubling up if possible as in the long term this will be used on a largish database so any optimization I can achieve will help. So, I have thirty columns of test result records in which some students did not submit work. In these cases, there is not a zero but a blank. This maintains an average in the average formula column which is unskewed by zeros from lack of submissions. However, I want to automate a running total of test results recorded (not the score, just the presence of a score being recorded), so that I can see who is falling behind in their submissions and it really only needs to total the number of populated fields to the left of it. I am a beginner and assume that this requires a formula of some sort. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have created a new empty table with a form view. I want the user to be able to select records in the form, that are pulled from a different table with two columns (make & model, years) Not sure how to achieve this. Every time I create a linked record it just pulls the make and model of the car. Not the years.

All other fields are fine but linked and lookup fields throw an error. Hello Community! How are you? My name is Federico and I am having a question about the bases. I have a big base where there are 5 tables inside. I need to change one of the column so I can create a new base to add the CRM. The question is: I have the column that says “Name” and i want to change the first column to a formula and then concatenate the name and surname. The link will be the same name but changes the field to a formula instead of the short desc. This table is connected to a table that give course to all the clients orders. Can I change the range of a register without changing the linked record with another base? If I change the row that is linked to another table, it will crush? I will be waiting for an answer!

Hello. I’ve only been using AirTable for a few weeks now so bare with me. I am setting up a grid that has certain dates entered along with other information for law cases. If I put a date into one cell, can 2 the other date entry cells automatically fill in with futures dates based on the first date that is entered. For example, if I enter in 9/1/2020 in one cell, can the next date cell automatically fill in with a date 6 months in the future and then based off that 2nd date, have a third cell fill in with a date 10 days later? I’m sure there is a formula perhaps but I’m unaware after doing some searching. Thank you very much for your time.

I have a requirement to identify all records in one of my tables where a text value in a specific field matches one of several hundred possible text values stored in individual records in a separate table. For every new record in that first table, I want to check if there is a matching value in Table 2, and if we find a match, I want to update a separate field in Table 1 with ‘true’. If there is no match, then that field is set to ‘false’ Would like to set up an Airtable automation for this, but as with Automation script my javascript is pretty near non-existant! Thanks

Hi all I want a field to only display if this condition is met: {Session Status} is “ :sparkles: Public. Live on web.” (Session Status} links to the [Session Status] table. One of the records in there is named “ :sparkles: Public. Live on web.” When I write a formula for: FIND({Session Status}, “ :sparkles: Public. Live on web.”) I get 0 as a result. I am guessing FIND() isn’t reading that field because it is a linked record. Any workarounds come to mind? Thanks!

Hi all, I am using Airtable as the database backend for translations to an app I have built. Basically, ever column is a string for text that I then link to in the app. While 500 columns is generous, it is limiting my freedom to design the app since there are more than 500 strings that need to be indexed in the app. My ideal solution would be for there to be a paid solution that would allow me to go beyond 500 columns, but that doesn’t seem to exist. Otherwise, my ideas are: Use the 500 lines more efficiently. I have been doing this but am running out of low hanging fruit, 500 strings is not such a high limitation when you consider the amount of text in an app Link Airtable databases together, where the user would select a Translation database 1 for the first 500 strings then a Translation database 2 for the next 500 strings, but this is a bit ugly for the users. What I want to do it, I want to sum all values belonging to a specific category in another summary table. I have a “citation” field for my “article” record, an article may refer to several citations, e.g. Book A, p.57 and Book B, p.327. Obviously I also have a “Books” table with book name and published year, author etc. But I don’t know how to associate “page number” easily with the selected book. Must I create another table linking Article, Book and page number? This would be the obvious way in traditional database design and you would create a UI to simplify the book/page number selection. However in Airtable it would be a multi-step process for the user: select Citation field, create Add+, select the book, add page number, then close the book-page record, then close again. Could this process be simplified so the user only has to select the book and add page number in one action?

Hi, Sorry if this seems a simple issue, but I’ve got a table with a list of venues… some start with “the” (eg: The Royal Albert Hall). I want to be able to display the list of venues in proper name order - ie: Royal Albert Hall, without “the”… I’m thinking having the full name as one field, and a second, formula, field which removes THE if it’s the first word, but not if it’s in the middle of the name - eg: Her Majesty’s THEatre, or Auditorium at THE Excel Centre… Could anyone help please? I want to create an Automation that will sort inbound emails into categories for me, and label them I already capture the email text content via Zapier which creates a new record for each email and, among other things, writes the email text body to a Multiline text field in the record. I then need to classify each email, and label the record accordingly. I have about 12 different message types. Each record includes a Single Select field with 12 options, I use this field to label each record according to message type. My message types are pretty simple and each record can be classified just by looking for and matching a unique text string within the text body from each email - ie the message body can be very long, and I’m looking for particular unique strings within the message. This seems like it should be a job that Airtable Automation could do pretty easily, but I’m a noob with javascript. There will be hundreds of activities but only one person should be assigned to each activity. How can I see if a person is assigned to more than one activity during the same time period?

Hi All, I am attempting to embed the scripting block into stacker, but am not having any luck. the block keeps showing up as greyed out. (Image below) Any idea on how to fix this? P.S. i’m not having this issue with any of Airtable’s built-in blocks. Not sure this is an Airtable limitation because they do give you the option to embed the scripting block. Thanks

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to have a table automatically update, as I create new entries on my main table. Specifically, I have a table where I add new vfx shot names and info and I want the status table to automatically add these new vfx shot names as they are added to the first table. Is there a way to accomplish this? Manually adding hundreds of new entries on one table is fine, but to add them to all the other tables would be inefficient.

I am trying to use the new Airtable Automation to update record. I have a form that captures updated information whil I am auditing a computer. This information is stored in a table called Encryption Audits. I want to use airtable’s built in automation to update a separate table with any information that has changed. Encryption Log is the name of this table. When I try and set it up to update, I get “received invalid input.” I am attemptimg to take the fields from the encryption audit table and update my encryption log table with this information. Even tried just having it update the record with text I typed in manually. All attempts end with invalid input. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, I’m trying to create an automation in Zapier where when a record is updated in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, automatically a specific record in Airtable is also updated. Could you please help me?
