Is it possible to use rollup to pull the sum of values from two different fields (both in the same view) into a single field in a second view? I’m designing a teambuilding exercise app. It tracks exercise efforts from various teams, based on A) non-walking activities and B) Walking. In the main view, one field uses various formulae to convert different types of exercise into their “step count” equivalent. For example, 30 minutes of playing basketball is worth 5000 steps (not really). The second field only requires a number input by the participant, based on a pedometer reading. In the end, both fields need to be summed together to show total steps taken by each participant. The expectation is that participants will record steps (from walking) and step equivalents (from non-walking activities). Thanks in advance.

Here is the use-case/workflow: Assume we have multiple workspaces and bases. In the desktop application, when user A wants to share the link to a base with user B, already a collaborator on the base, how can this be accomplished. On this browser it is simple. Copy the link from the address bar and share it. How can something similar be accomplished in the desktop application? The Share button has options that are not required for existing collaborators. Of course, the base name can be shared and that can be searched. But this involves multiple steps. Thanks!

I know that I cannot currently link two bases, and I also cannot currently limit permissions within a base to show users specific data, so I’m trying to find a workaround to my problem and am stuck. I have a CRM built for our sales associates with various tables including Client Database, Interactions Log, Tasks, Transactions, etc. There is data I’d like my executive team to see that I don’t want visible in the sales CRM such as summaries of sales by individual person, # of new customers brought in by sales associates, $ amount in sales by person, etc. I want them to view their individual stats, but not have access to view everyone’s sales stats. But, I want to summarize that data to make it visible to the executive team. My thought was to keep my CRM base as-is, and create a second base titled “Executive Base” that would show/summarize the higher-level data. Hi there, excuse my ignorance! I am very new to Airtable and I am trying to set up a simple inventory system of moving hundreds of items (Props for a film) from one location to another. I have fields set up for the various locations as a checkbox. ie. “PROPS STORE 1”, “PROPS STORE 2” etc… If I move a prop from “PROPS STORE 1” to “PROPS STORE 2” - is it possible for the “PROPS STORE 1” box to automatically UN-check? Basically, I am trying to make it so that only ONE of the check boxes can be checked at any one time. So it is not possible to have an item in two places if a crew member forgets to uncheck a location box. By default the system will only allow you to choose one check box. Many thanks for any advice!

I have a base with columns (fields) in a given order horizontally across the page. I want to move some of these columns so that the are in a different order across the page. How do I do that?

The Background: My kid’s school needed a Daily Health Survey that parents/faculty/staff/volunteers need to fill out every day, and I said I would help and now I’m stuck. I created a JotForm which dumps data into an Airtable base, and I use automations to create one big table that has all the individual pieces in it. So: Pablo Picasso - Cleared Zoey Beckmann - Not Cleared etc This is a great use for the Page Designer Block (I think), but in order for me to do that, I need to figure out a way to automatically link all of the records for each date to a single record in another table, and that’s where I’m stuck. Small bug in the user interface: Can’t sort the list of workspaces in the left column (the list is under “Find Base and Workpace” field on the left). I try to drag up and down workspaces (dragging the name) but it refuses to stay where I drag it. The list is not alphabetical but I want to sort it in my own order. The 6 dots ::: show and allows dragging but the order goes back to previous order or the order becomes completely mixed up. The issue is same online (Chrome) as it is in the app (MacOS)

Hi, I’ve gotten all other fields to pull the correct info from Table A into Table B when triggered, but for some reason the simple text field is not pulling and showing up. Any ideas if this is a bug?

Hello, I’m trying to have a couple of “children” tables (restaurant, hotel, coffee shops) with the same colone format (name, adresse, contact info) all gathered in one “mother” table. The idea would be that when we add or modify a reccord in the “children” table, it adds or modify the same reccord in the “mother” table automaticaly. Its like my “mother” table is a mirror of my “children” tables. If anyone knows if its possible I would love to have a tips because i haven’t cracked it.

I would like to create a workaround for the issue that Linked Records are not available in Automations. I am collecting lots of URL inputs from colleagues via the web clipper. For a number of reasons I want to link the records to another table automatically, using a script. The idea would be to trigger the script using an Automation. Hello, I am working on various automations for my use case, but don’t have previous experience with json or the airtable api. I’ve created a multi-step automation that relies on a couple of scripts to link fields in various tables. I am sure there is a cleaner way to do it, but overall it works when individual records are created. However, I have realized that when I batch upload a group of new records (as will be a likely use case moving forward) I run into a script error stating that the query for selectrecords has exceeded the max of 30. I would love some help figuring out how to modify the following script. I have two tables: Contacts; Companies When a new record is found in Contacts, it is supposed to search Companies and then create a link automatically if a matching record is found. As you can expect, I am using a function field to manipulate a time field; two issues appeared gmt zone went crazy inside the new form field language for dates now are shown in english. Two solutions came to rescue: For issue # 1 I can use: DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_TIMEZONE({date field}, 'America/Bogota'), 'dddd, MMM D, YYYY h:mm a') for issue #2 I can use: DATETIME_FORMAT(SET_LOCALE({date field}, 'es'), 'dddd, MMM D, YYYY h:mm a') They both work perfectly INDIVIDUALLY, How can I combine these 2 formats inside one single formula.

Hello all, I am new to airtable but I feel like it has a lot of potential in order to manage my employees. What I want to achieve is fairly simple: I want a list of all my employees (easy to do) I want a list of all my worksites (easy to do) a) I want to assign my employees to certain worksites and then be able to see on a calendar which employees is available for an upcoming project. b) I want to be able to filter that calendar by employee and / or by worksites For example, Daniel is working on project 1 in September and December Roger is working on project 1 only in September but on project 2 in November and December I have an upcoming project in November and want to see which employees are free in October What would be the best way to go about successfully implementing step 3 in airtable? I have a weird issue I’m not sure how to solve. I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. I have a base with three separate tabs. The first tab is for all project information, the second tab is for “due diligence” tasks, and the third tab is for billing. I’m using Zapier and linked fields to try to do the following: When a new project is created, I want to trigger the creation of a list of tasks in the due diligence tab, and then a list of billing breakdowns in the billing tab. The list of tasks and billing breakdowns is the same for each project. I’ve set it up in Zapier and I’m running into a problem. I’ve tried it two different ways. When the new record is created, I update the record so the linked field in the project tab is populated with all of the tasks. When I do this for more than one record though, it doesn’t create new records on the linked task, but instead keeps the same records, just linked to more than one project. However it seems if you change the table name you are searching on as long as it is a valid table name it still returns the record even if it sits in a different table. Now whilst this is a functionality we are looking for i.e. a search on all tables in a base. This doesn’t feel like this should be working. i.e. if the table name doesn’t contain the recordId then it should fail but it still returns the record regardless of the table you are searching? I’m trying to use the --remote feature of the CLI to install my Custom Block into another base, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’m not sure if I’m doing something incorrectly. I went through the process of “Install a block”, “Build a custom block”, and saved the appID/blkID, leaving an empty and uninitialized block Then I ran the CLI commands, with apparently successful results: But my block remains uninitialized. I’ve tried refreshing multiple times, and I’ve tried running the CLI commands again, and it doesn’t look like it’s done anything. I tried running just $ block release as well (not specifying a --remote), and my default installation of the block was updated (tooltip indicates “last updated” with today’s date). So it appears it is only the remote option that is not working as I expected. @Kasra @Michelle_Valentine
