I have a rollup field that uses ARRAYJOIN() to produce string values separated by commas. Next, I want to be able to count all instances of a particular string.For Example, the field I want to count contains: BT,DT,BT, DT. I want to count only the “DT.” Any suggestions on what formulas are able to do this? I would use a conditional rollup, but it doesn’t feature any “IF” statements.

Hi community! I am building a job site with Webflow and using Airtable as the database. Note: Job site not job board, which means the candidates will apply on the same site, instead of linking them to the company’s “jobs” page, as Job boards do. With the tutorials I saw online, including the one by @Aron, the “Apply Now” button links to an external site. With my Job site, I’m linking it to an Application form, where I need to prefill 2 things: The Company and the Position. I currently have a “Job Posts” table, a “Candidates” table, and a “Apply now” form/table. Every Job Post has an associated “Apply Now” URL which can be customized to have either the company name or the position prefilled (whichever is the primary field). The “Apply Now” form links to the “Job Posts” table and picks the primary field. I need both: the company name and the position to be prefilled into the form. How do I do this?

I have a formula where this year’s anniversary is based on the date of Marriage but it returns an ERROR if the marriage date is blank and I would like it show as a blank instead. Here is my old formula. DATETIME_PARSE( DATETIME_FORMAT( {Marriage Date}, ‘MMMM D’ )& ’ '& YEAR( TODAY() ), ‘MMM D YYYY’ ) II have tried using an IF statement and it does work for the blank marriage dates but for some reason, the ones with Marriage dates are no longer formatted as MMM/D/YYYY and instead show 2020-03-31T00:00:00.000Z. . Here is my new Formula with the wrong formatting: IF({Marriage Date},DATETIME_PARSE( DATETIME_FORMAT( {Marriage Date}, ‘MMMM D’ )& ’ '& YEAR( TODAY() ), ‘MMM D YYYY’ ),"") I can’t figure out where to move the date formatting so it shows up as 3/31/2020 Any help would be appreciated.

The documentation page for RecordQueryResult says “…filtered to a useful subset of the records in the table.” I see that it’s possible to sort and specify which fields are returned but I can’t figure out how to actually filter on selectRecordsAsync. Being able to filter here would be awesome because then I won’t have to manually create views. (Or if it were possible to programmatically create Views I could create the ones I need when a new employee is onboarded.) Thanks!

Hey, I have been reading carefully the airtable api documentation to work with my data. I tried copying and pasting the suggested snippets of code from the official docs into visual studio project. which is just an index.html boilerplate + an app.js reference in the same folder. I understand that in order to follow the documentation I must install airtable via npm into my project folder. All done. Now when I add the code to my project and save it, I get an error on the console: “app.js:1 Uncaught ReferenceError: require is not defined at app.js:1” Then I thought, this must be something to do with the airtable npm module not being referenced. I then look for a fix here in the community and could not find any, so a threat in stack overflow advice to include: import Airtable, { Base } from “airtable”; Now after saving and loading my html boiler plate and checking the console it reads: Uncaught SyntaxError: Cannot use import statement outside a module Can someone show me, how to list

Is there a way to choose which record gets referenced while setting up and testing an automation? I am setting up some email automations and I want to avoid emailing an actual customer during the testing and trial process. I have a sample customer and a record using the sample customer’s information created; but the record that is referenced for use in the actions section is an earlier record referencing a real customer. The record I want to use for all setup and testing purposes: The record that is being automatically referenced for all setup and testing purposes: I’m sure I could find a workaround by creating a blank new table or moving previous records around in some way, but it would be far easier to just select my sample customer’s record in my live table.

Until yesterday Typeform -> Aitable direct integration was working well. From yesterday it does not work the uploading of images (from the “attachment” field of Typeform into the “attachment” field of Airtable). Everything it is automatically imported excluding the images. On the contrary, Airtable Typeform app works well. Anybody with the same problem? RColasanti

IF + SWITCH formula can’t have a non-numeric value as True / False argument. If it does, the result of this formula is going to be ALWAYS non-numeric and thus can’t never be used as an input for calculation in subsequent formulas. For instance, if I have IF(Column1=“ABCD”,999999,“nonsense”)… the result of this formula is always non-numeric, no matter what the result. Even if the result is TRUE (that is Column contains ABCD), the result of the formula is non-numeric text 999999. To get numeric result, I have to change the formula to IF(Column1=“ABCD”,999999,“000000000000000”) and then I’ll get 999999 as numeric result. Same goes for SWITCH formula. This is an issue when the result of the IF or SWITCH formula is an input or variable in a subsequent formula because the result of the subsequent formula(s) produces an #ERROR! This is not a show-stopper but reduces the usability if I can’t have text “nonsense” as the result if the result of first formula is FALSE. What we need is the first

Hi, I’m having trouble with the following formula: IF(LEN({Copy})>150,“ :rotating_light: ”,“ :ok_hand: ”). It returns “ :rotating_light: ” if the Copy cell quantity is longer than 150 characters and “ :ok_hand: ” if less than 150. However, I’d like it to return a blank value if the Copy cell is empty. I’ve tried adding “BLANK ()” to the formula a few different ways, but it either returns an error message or doesn’t take. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have 2 fields that contain email addresses. The first column contains 1 email address and the the 2nd column contains multiple email addresses. I want to create a 3rd column that combines both fields with the appropriate commas separating each email address. What formula can I use?

I have two rollup columns that each contain (potentially a lot) of text values. Rollup column 1 will most likely contain some, but not all, of the same text values of Rollup column 2. I need a way to write a formula for a third column that pulls out any unique text that exists in column 2 that does not exist in column 1 and then shows what those unique text values are in column 3. (Essentially I’m trying to find values that don’t match between the two columns, but I don’t want to calculate just a true or false statement as to whether the two columns match. I want to know what the text values are.) Anyone that can help? -Thanks

I am using grouping in several of my views and I was looking at the “guide to grouped records” page from Airtable and saw that I should be able to hide no grouped records - so records that are empty in the field I’m grouping by. I went to do that, and I do not have that icon on my grouping dropdown. I saw that if I changed the field I’m sorting by to something else, it appears. The fields I’m trying to sort by are “calculated fields” and I only want to see the records in these views if those values have been calculated, otherwise I don’t want to see them. This is where I saw that as an option, at the very bottom.

I feel like this is possible, but I’m not 100% sure. I know I can run a formula that says do “X” if the value is “Y” and otherwise do “Z”, but can that be done on whether the number is negative or positive? This is what I’m trying to do - I have a number field that captures the number of days before (negative) or after as listed in a contract. I need to calculate a date based on those numbers, but the date I calculate from depends on whether it is listed as before or after in a contract. So for example, if in the contract it says the survey is due 30 days before the end of feasibility, I need to use the feasibility date field based on that -30. If it says it is due 60 days after the effective date, I need to use the effective date field based on that 60. Hopefully this makes sense. Thank you!

I have an automation in which i get the record from the record update that triggered the automation, i then have an ‘if’ condition in which if the condition i want is true i put an output text that is later sent to the next action which is sending the text output on a slack message. the problem is that if the condition is not true i want to just stop the automation there and then and not send the message on slack, because right now i put the script output as the slack’s message and when the condition is false i get an error saying the automation has failed because of the slack message action (in airtable notification and in email and thats what i want to prevent). so is there a way to stop an automation in the script section or to at least tell it to ignore that failures so i wont get notifications in airtable and email about it? thanks in advance to any helpers.

I currently have a membership database in ACCESS and the membership number is the primary key. I want to get this into Airtable and keep the current membership number as the primary field so that it auto increments when a new record is added. I have read the article " How can I change the primary field in my table?", but it does not work. Or is there some other way of ding this? Thanks for your help. Mark

I’m setting an automation to send a slack message using a lookup field (formatted as string). The automation doesn’t get the value from this lookup field. I get an error message saying “This property cannot be used right now” Has anyone hit the same issue or has something to add to help?

I’m having a random issue and I’m not sure why. I have some forms in page designer and one of the fields is a formula that calculates today’s date, so when the letter/form is sent it has the right date at the top. For some reason, it is pulling yesterday’s date. I’ve tried refreshing and reloading the page designer forms, the whole website, etc. It still is showing the wrong date, but the formula column on the table is correct. Why is it pulling yesterday’s date? I’ve included some screen shots to show what I mean.

Is there a way to query a range of records provided by the API? I’d love to be able to cache the first 500, then load subsequent records on demand. The current pagination flow makes this difficult since the offset seems to be unique to the time it’s called. I’m looking for something similar to this SELECT * FROM table limit 500, 600

Bookseller here trying to survive by listing on Amazon. I have lots of books that are so old ISBNs didn’t exist when they were published. For those books, Amazon offers what they call a “GTIN” exemption. So I have two fields: (1) a single line field called {Product ID}, which contains an ISBN if available, but is, otherwise, left blank; and (2) and a formula field called {Product ID Type}, which needs to contain “ISBN” if {Product ID} is NOT blank or “GTIN” if {Product ID} is blank. I have no idea what might work here. Fingers crossed that one of you do. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi AirTable Geniuses! I’m fairly new at this, but I’m hoping I could create a formula field that auto-generates an Amazon-friendly cell for each book record my old Homebase book inventory. Homebase allows for an infinite number of book binding descriptors, but the only ones on Amazon that work for my books are Hardcover, Paperback, and Miscellaneous. So my AirTable has two binding fields: HOMEBASE BINDING and AMAZON BINDING. The first will just be copied from my old database. I think the second, though, needs a formula that starts like this: IF({HOMEBASE BINDING}=“Hardcover”,“Hardcover”,IF({HOMEBASE BINDING}=“Paperback”,“Paperback”,IF({HB BINDING}!= This is where I get stuck. How can I tell my AirTable table that if HOMEBASE BINDING does not equal either “Hardcover” or “Paperback”, my AMAZON BINDING field should say “Miscellaneous”? I’d be mighty grateful for some assistance with this one! It would mean not having to comb through 25,000 records. :slightly_smiling_face:
