Solved

Very new user here.I have a simple base with one table and one form.  It is designed to add new people to a mailing list.  I created a form to add new records, and that seems to work fine.  Now I need to create a navigation.  I would like to see a sidebar which includes 2 items, the table and the form.  Is it possible to have the table and the form in the same sidebar?  I don't really need to see the buttons at the top (data, automations, interfaces). How can I add the 2 items to the sidebar, then reliably cause it to appear?  While playing with this, I saw a sidebar, but once I left it, I can't figure out how to bring it back.  Can anyone help?  Thanks...

For the automation above, I kept getting an error OR inaccurate output. When I would test it out and submit a 90% score, it keeps creating a record as if the score was less 89.99

Is it possible to add color to the automated email body copy. We are hoping to emphasize certain areas of content to our partners through the use of color. Thanks!

Is there a canonical URL that will allow me to display a record in a given table?

Hello, I'm trying to merge records in my table when 3 criteria match. I've been able to identify which records are duplicates, but I am having trouble merging them. Logically I believe my code should do what I want it do, I am not super familiar with asynch and I think that is what is messing me up. When I run this code it throws: Syntax error: await is only valid in async functions and the top level bodies of modules [script.js:33:9] I've been reading through documentation and discussion posts, but I'm not sure what is happening to cause it to throw an exception. Any help would be appreciated.   var table = base.getTable('Testing_500'); var query = await table.selectRecordsAsync(); //let records = query.records; let upPN; let upEM; let upID; //identify duplicates let duplicates = query.records.filter((record) => { return query.records.find((potentialDupe) => { let fName = record.getCellValue("First Names") === potentialD

I am new to Airtable. I have create a Form to capture Emergency Contact Information. When I shared the link, the end user must register to complete this form. Is there a way to have the employee complete form without having to create an account or register?Note - I am currently using the Free version of Airtable. I don't know if this make a difference.

Hi. I have a very basic password system that uses letters to denote numbers. The numbers come from a client's DOB.I have a date (DOB) field and another field using DATETIME_FORMAT to only show the numbers (DDMMYY). That's all fine.I would like to have a new field that displays a particular letter for each number - to create a very simple password. Lets say: 1=a, 2=b, 3=c, 4=d, 5=e, 6=f, 7=g, 8=h, 9=i, 0=jIs there a formula that would do this please?

Great session today! I really enjoyed it! I wanted to follow-up to clarify my question and see if others have ran into the same situation and if anyone knew the solution! So, I have an interface form with the new form builder. Within that form, I have separate groups based on what a user selects initially -    1 - User puts in base info2 - User selects the option3 - This group displays when a specific option is selected in 2 (So it's conditional) My question is.. when I added a field in the group 3) (In this example "Hit Time"), I can't seem to be able to "re-add" it to another group. So say that user selects a different option for 2), but I use that one field "Hit Time" for multiple options in 2. When it is in the group, I can't use it in another group. Is there a way to do that? Or is the current solution to only group specific fields that are not required for different conditional options. Thanks all in advance for the help!

Dear all,I'm using the calendar in the interface; in the month view, if there are more items, accondingly to the zoom setting, only some items are visible, while others are not visible, even though the label "+ x more" is present.Even by clicking in the day the other items appear only for less than 1 sec, after the click. Are there some ways in order to see the title of the items withuot open the right summarize column? Thank you. Best regards. A. Hi,Every time I try to convert the multiple select field (automatic field from import) to Date (with time included), I get this message that some cell data may be cleared. And indeed, most of the cell data were cleared. I don't understand this as my data is clean it is a standard 03/05/2023 7:00:00, 10/05/2023 7:00:00, 17/05/2023 7:00:00, etc As you can see, the three rows show up blank after I try to convert to Date (with time) field. This is the original data after importing from Excel sheet. Would appreciate any advise on how I could convert all data successfully. Thanks!

Hi there, I am trying to create an If/or formula and got it to work but I can't get the formula to be blank if there's no data in a field. I'm sure that makes no sense. Here's an example: Let's say I have a small list of produce in a column. I want to create a formula in a new column to give me the category of produce either as a fruit or as a vegetable. I got the formula to work but if no produce has been selected I'm still seeing "Vegetable" in the formula column and I want it to return a blank value. Any ideas? Here's the example formula. Thanks in advance!IF(OR({Produce}="Grape",{Produce}="Apple"),"Fruit","Vegetable")

In the Airtable interface it came to my attention today that Read Only users can see all other users who have access to the same interface. I simply assumed they couldn't share or see this information.Does anyone know how I disable sharing for read only users, or the ability to see who it is shared with? This is totally work stopping for me on my current project. In fact this is preventing me from wanting to use Airtable interfaces for any public facing work, even for people who have paid Airtable accounts.

I made an automation to create reminders in my Google Cal. They’re all-day events, which by default don’t show you as busy, but when they’re made through Airtable they’re ticked to show as busy. I couldn’t find a field to change this in my automation. Can I make it so my all-day events made from automation don’t show as busy?

I have a large multi-select that I then need to turn into a list format. I did the usual substitute the comma for a line break but unfortunately the items in this multi-select (that I can not edit) also use commas so now it's adding commas where I don't want them. Is there a way to get the formula to avoid those commas but not the others?  SUBSTITUTE({Plot Themes},", ","\n")

Please see screenshot below. I have domain names in one field and want a clickable "click here" text in another field that hyperlinks to the domain name, how can I do this? Thank you

Hi all!I've been scratching my head and couldn't solve the problem quickly, so I'm asking for your help.I need to display a progress bar with the percentage of completion of a specific task, under which there are subtasks. In order to understand the percentage of task completion, we take the subtask as the source. If out of 10 subtasks only one is completed, then we get 10% of the main task completed, a certain run rate.It looks like a similar task can be implemented through a formula, but I was unable to write a correct formula using if, counting and division. How can this case be solved?

I'm running into race conditions some report summaries automations, and am wondering if anyone has come up with a better solution than I have in placeI have a table that is automatically updated when a user adds values from a csv report. I need to summarize that report with an automation. I have a multi-step automation that does the followingTriggers when a record enters a viewChecks to see if the date of the report is already listed in my summary table with a "Find Records" stepIf "Find Records" length is 0, it runs a few scripts to do math on the raw data enteredHowever, I've found that the automation runs for all records in the view simultaneously, rather than one at a time, so I'm running into race conditions where multiple lines are created for the same report. I know there are other solutions such as running the automation from a button click or at a scheduled time, but those are not options for me at this point. Any advice?

Is there a way to share a script between a record-create automation and a record-update automation?

Hi- are there any updates about this topic? We want to share only some tabs with different people. Thanks

Looking for a solution for a public view where I would like to share information partly. To be exact - I'd like to hide the last characters of the text string by replacing the last letters with stars ***Tried to look up for ready solutions but had no luck.Would appreciate any help.

Hi. I'm sorry if this sounds a bit vague, but what I'm trying to do is this:I conduct sessions with students and each session is a record. At the end of a month I have a table with multiple students and their sessions. Some students will have 4 or 5 sessions per month. What I want to do is find all sessions for each student, then extract the 'date' and 'duration' fields data to make a list of all the sessions the student has had in that month. I will then use an automation to email this information.I'm not sure where to start with this one. Is there a nice, elegant way to do this? 🙂

I'm trying to move attachments from AT to Google Drive using Make. For some reason when the scenario runs, the files that get created in Drive are invalid. These are small png logo images and when I try to open them in Drive I get an unrecognized file format error. Here is my Make setup:Is the AT attachment URL field the correct one to be using?

Hello! I'm trying to avoid using Google Forms to keep everything in Airtable, but have some trouble creating the matrix-like question in Airtable Forms (check attached image). Is there a way to create this or is it impossible? Thank you!

Extremely frustrated with the lack of communication from Airtable.  I've spent 6 weeks trying to get several questions answered.  We had the same experience when trying to onboard with Airtable.  Unfortunately we stuck it out and continued with Airtable instead of going in another direction.

Hello, I have a question that I am having trouble finding an exact answer for; my company manages week-long events at a large scale and I'm trying to determine how much it would cost to allow several temporary collaborators on a specific base for a week.I know that Airtable bills per user prorated by day, so does that mean if I bring in 5 users for 5 days and the monthly cost is $24/month, would the answer be $0.80/day per user*5 users*5 days= $20 total added to the invoice? I hope this makes sense, let me know if you need any more context!
