I'm creating a new extension that will automatically update records in a table based on data returned from a server API endpoint that I control.This API computes a lot of data and will take longer than 30 seconds to respond, so this can't be a normal synchronous API call.What is the best strategy for doing this in my extension? I can think of three possible ways -* Can extensions listen for webhooks, where I call an API and get a webhook back some minutes later?* Or maybe the server writes directly to the table when the data is ready - can an extension facilitate this automatically?* Alternatively, can I have my extension automatically & continuously (without user interaction) poll an endpoint every hour for new data and update the table?Thanks for your ideas!

I am trying to use this to automatically add 15 or 5 days to the contract date. The “calculation” field is an IF statement to calculate which amount of days to add. BUT I cannot figure out how to get the formula to add the days and give me a new date.

I’ve noticed my (custom) apps are taking much longer to load lately, coinciding with a steady increase in records. The apps load records from filtered views, which don’t necessarily have a ton of records in them at a time. Would the amount of records in the whole base affect the speed of the apps, even if the apps in question aren’t loading all of the records in? Thanks!

I would like to know when a repeating group in Automations is finished. I try to use a number field and update it incrementally but the formula does not seem to work in Automation. Is there any other way?

Hello all,Hope you all had a good holiday season.I have looked, but can't find anything around this, which I think is simple.  Most of what I am seeing on here looks more complicated than it should be.I have a Date Formula field that I would like to populate with Today's date if a box is checked.  I can get that part working, but the rest of the fields show the #ERROR! message.  I just want to hid the message and show nothing.This is what I currently have:Thank you for any help,Matt 

I am working in Postman. The field in question is "Taxes Owed - PDF". I get the error shown below. If I change the field type to single-line text I don't get an error. I don't want to change the field type. hi all, i have a parent table that is copying data to a child table on a condition. I've written the script and I can handle all the data types except I'm having trouble with the linked field. I have a User table linked to both tables. I keep getting this error: id has incorrect objectId prefix "sel", expecting one of ["rec"]the linked field I'm copying returns this object:{id: "seleCE7wF1kaofYBd", name: "Lucas", color: "cyanLight2"}but the actual record id of "Lucas" on the user table returns "rec6TmmKCTEiSp3BA".How can I fix this? 

Fetch request is built like this, including these headers: But it returns a CORS error — the webhook isn’t returning Access Control Allow Headers… Oddly enough I can get it to work from Postman: And if I follow the proxy outlined here it works as well. Is there a way to make the webhook return that header? Or another solution? Thanks!

I just realised this simple formula, on most fields does not work . Test was done on a Single-Line field. IF(test1 != BLANK(), "Not Blank", "Blank") This will always return "Not Blank".  A workaround seems to be to do the below: IF(Not(test1 = BLANK()), "Not Blank", "Blank") Any idea why this is so? Or is there a simpler work to check for 'Not Blank/Empty'?

Hello all ! (It’s my first post in this forum, if i’m not following guidelines please feel free to tell me !) I quite new in the Airtable world. I’m currentlty trying to create a script (with the script app powered by Airtable) in order to fetch data from my (test) shopify store. But here is my point : → Airtable do not allow to use the class authentication used by Shopify, which is : GET https://{username}:{password}@{shop}.myshopify.com/admin/api/2021-01/shop.json → So i need to use Basic Auth as it’s explained in theire documentation. But it’s not working, and i get this error message : “[API] Invalid API key or access token (unrecognized login or wrong password)”. Did someone ever face this issue and know how to solve it ?(I’m sur about my credentials, and i also delete and recreate my app in order to prevent this mistake). Hi, I have a column with a date and time (starting date and time) in one tab and another column (Duration time) with a duration in another tab. I created a lookup in order to use this duration in a formula to get the endin date and time. I couldn't figure out why my formula is not working...Help ? 🙂

Hi All, I am trying to use the DATEADD formula to add a number of years to a date, The date is in one table and the number of years to add is in another table. DATEADD(Date,{Years till expiry}, ‘Years’) This just returns the same date as the date field. Annoyingly if I remove the {Years to Expiry} and just put a number in there it works fine, But i need to pull a different number of years depending on another field. I am trying to produce an expiry date for a qualification which is linked to a Google drive. the qualifications are listed in another table with the years to expiry number linked to each qualification. once this works i will want to run some conditional formatting in a report to see which qualifications are out of date. I have tried formatting the columns to integer and decimal. Thanks in advance Steve

Hello!I'm new here and new to Airtable, but I was looking for some help if it's possible 🙂I have a table with bookings and I want to run an automation at the beginning of every week that groups all the upcoming bookings that are relevant to each individual person in the bookings, to send them an email with an overview of all their upcoming appointments.It's easy enough if I do it for each booking individually, but then one person might receive 3 emails with each booking which I am trying to avoid.I have been playing around with the Find Records function in the automation, where I can create an array of all the upcoming appointments for the week but I don't know how to dynamically find and group the records based on the persons name. At the moment, I just have a list of all the bookings.Is this something that is possible in Airtable? and how can I go about it?Thanks for your time!

Hi Folks, I'm trying out using the rating field for a ongoing review process and want to be able to roll up an average of those ratings. I've managed to get the rollup to work but can't get rid of the NaN for fields that don't have ratings yet. Here's what I want to do. I have a field that lists percentages for the fees my company wants to add to a contract. Admin fee 10%, Late fee 5%, etc. If I were to stack these fees, I want to have a field that returns the sum of each percentage multiplied by the contract subtotal field. Is there any way to do this? Like: SUM ( (10% x $800), (5% x $800) ) but where it could recognize the array and do the math for each percentage. 

I have created a formula that gives employees a personalized link to fill out a form so that when they fill out the form, they only need to answer the questions and don't have to put their name, employee id, etc. Is there a way to get around not having them sign in to use the personalized links?I have already turned off the "See who submitted this form" box and the under Share Link settings the "Restrict access to enterprise email domains" option. It doesn't make the person sign in with the regular link to the form, only the personalized one. Hoping there is a way around this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

In my scenario, I have a trailer that may have multiple batteries assigned to it. When a battery needs to be removed, the client brings up the battery detail in an Interface and clicks 'Remove'. This launches an automation where multiple things occur:A ticket is opened for the batteryNotes are added to both the trailer (in the trailer table) and the battery (in the battery table).Then, I want to run a script to remove the battery from the trailer.I found another post that was doing something similar, and after much troubleshooting (I'm new to coding), I've got it down to one error that I'm not sure how to troubleshoot. Error: Request parameters failed validation. at main (script:14)A few notes, yes, the input values from the automation are lists, but there will only ever be one value in the list, which is why I used JSON.stringify. I want to make absolutely sure that the automation will never run again on that record under any circumstances, - even if I accidentally change a field and the record records a new modified date/time.Is this possible please?

However, I have a bit of a wrinkle—this doesn't seem to be possible when using a Repeating Group.The background:I have a list of live performances in a table called Shows. I have a list of performers in a table called Artists. The two tables are linked via a Linked Record field so that Artists (one or more) can be added to specific shows.Some Artists perform on shows year after year. I have a multiple select field in the Artists table for "Years Active."The desired automation:When an Artist is attached to a show, I'd like the "Years Active" field in the Artist's record to update to include "2024" in addition to any existing years already in the field.The issue:Normally, I would insert the current value of "Years Active" followed by a comma and then "2024." I'm fairly new to Airtable and have a question as I'm building my database.I've found it helpful for me to assign "focus times" for tasks independently from their due date in previous systems, so I added a Single Select field named "Status" that has several options: Today, Tomorrow, This Week, Backlog, Completed, and On Hold. I have attached a screenshot of how that looks.Is there a way to create an automation that (at midnight) automatically updates anything with the Tomorrow status to have a Today status instead? I was able to create an automation to change a singular record, but I failed to find a method to update them all.
