Hi folks,I'm looking for ideas on base design(s) for chemical formulations. I've taken one stab at this where I hardcoded some columns, but that fell apart pretty fast. I'm hoping some Airtable creatives have ideas. Here's the general problem:An ingredient inventory has some number of ingredients A, B, C, D, E, F... etc and can have an arbitrarily large number of entriesA formulation has some number of ingredients (an arbitrary subset of the ingredient inventory, so maybe B, C, F as a random example) and a defined amount of each included ingredient (xB, xC, xF). That amount could be a fraction or a mass in most casesSimple case: how do I deal with a formulation having arbitrary composition of ingredients?More complex case: How do I deal with the above, but ingredient inventory can also include formulations (so it's getting recursive)?Any ideas are most appreciated!Regards,Scott

Hi Airtable Community,I am having an issue with a formula that I was hoping to get some help on. Here is the issue:We do our invoicing on Airtable. We have a few different types / categories of invoices - they are as follows:Quotes: This is what we use when we have to submit a price 1st before any approvals to begin have been granted.Suppleental: This is like a change order - we use this when the job has changed and or scope was added.Estimate: This is used  when we have submitted a price but it has not been approved - what we call "settled"Invoice: This is what we use when we have submitted an estimate and it has been approved. We have the primary field be a concatenation field that takes the name  of the customer, the type of work it is, and then looks to the "(MIT) Settled Date" field and if it is empty, uses the word "ESTIMATE" as the last word of the primary name. The thinking here is that when there is no date in the "(MIT) Settled Date" field, it has not been appr

Some photos I upload into a table appear sideways both in the table view and expanded cell view, even though the photos themselves are upright in the upload window. I tried to rotate them 90% so they appear sideways in the upload screen, but then they rotate 180% to still appear sideways in the table facing the other way. Help?

Is it possible to get AirTable to generate X number of records in a table? Example: Table: Batch Col: Date Col: Batch Number Col: # of Units Produced Table: Units Col: Batch Number Col: Serial Number I’d like to create a record in Batch table, and if I say 10 units were produced in that batch, then automatically 10 NEW records appear in Units table (all of them linked to their batch in the Batch table) and all of them assigned automatically a sequential number (starting number would be MAX of whatever serial number is already in tab from PREVIOUS batch). I can’t even begin to wrap my head around this one. So, the two main issues would be automatically creating X records based on the event of another table AND auto generation of serial numbers starting off at the last serious number of previous batch. Is this impossible?

I am using a date field to gather reservations. I need to exclude or block the weekends from choice. Anyone know how I can do this?

Can someone help me figure out why the ‘else’ part of my IF statement isn’t working? I'm trying to create a friendly date/time/timezone field IF a certain date field is not blank. That part is working. But if the date field is blank, I want it to put “N/A” in the new field. That part is returning an error. Hi, I am trying to get selectRecordsAsync() to work. I looked up some older posts here and know that the old version was depricated I have to add an array of the field values, however it's still not working.Here is my code:async function updateCompanyDomains() {   let table = base.getTable("MyTableName");   let queryResult = await table.selectRecordsAsync({fields: table.fields})} Script runs through without an error, but it queryResult remains empty. If I put a console log after the queryResule line, it's not logged. If I hover over the fields, all the fields of the linked table are shown. For context, in case this could be the root cause: I am in the free trial. Any help is highly appreciated, thanks. 

I am looking to find a formula that takes you right to the Interface from the source table, with the record expanded on the right side inside the Interface and also specific to what ever is pre-selected on the "Drop Down" option. we currently use Google in order to sign on to our airtable. the company is migrating to Office 365 mail boxes. once we have finished migration to office 365, we cannot keep using the google sign in option…but, we can login regularly. question is, do we keep all the data of airtable in the new account? or is it all gone ? :frowning:

When inserting a Date field in an Email Action, the Date and Time format I’ve set within the table does not get used. Instead, I get the default formatting, something like: 2020-06-07T01:00:00.000Z. I’d like the date and time to be outputted in a more readable format in emails, something like 6/7/2020 at 1:00am.

Hi all - I have a table in grid view that I’m trying to group and then sort alphabetically. The table is: Grouped by StateOrProvince from First-Last Sorted by StateOrProvince from first-last No matter how I group, sort, etc. I can not get the table to group/sort alphabetically by State. Hi,I have a table which is sort of a Bill Of Materials containing the all the required parts to assemble a single product, including the required quantity of each part. It's basically looks like:|Product|Part|QuantityRequired|There is another Parts table containing the cost of each part.I'm trying to calculate the total cost for each part in a single field. So far I was able to do it through two fields, one is lookup for the cost of the part and another field with formula {qty}*{cost from lookup field}My question is can this be done directly in a single formula field, without needing the extra aux lookup field to fetch the price of a single part? Feels a bit redundant and was wondering if there's a way to fetch that lookup directly through the formula. (The final calculation of of the product's cost is done in the Products table through a sum rollup on said result)Thanks.

Hi all, I’m currently trying to set-up a pie chart via Airtable’s ‘Blocks’ function. Is there any way to choose my own colour for each of the segments? The default colour scheme that my pie chart is using is completely contradictory from the labels of each of my segments - and I can’t find a way to change it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. I have a script that has been working for over a year, but now will not update records.  I sync a table from another base to a second tab in main base.  I then use the following script I was given over a year ago (can't remember where I got it).  It has worked great to look at the synced tab to see a unique ID (emp #) and then pull that onto the main table and pull multiple records from the syned tab.  Now when I run it the script runs super fast and doesn't update anything even though I have matching Unique IDs.Here is the script I am using://Substitute "Orders" for table name which contains values//on which you want to run the vlookuplet mainTable = base.getTable("Covid LOA");let mainTableRecords = await mainTable.selectRecordsAsync({fields:["emp"]});//Substitute "Product" for table which contains range to searc

Hi, I'm pretty new to Airtable and currently just exploring if it will be viable for our company to use. The set up I have is two tables, one for learners and one for workshop sessions.  The sessions table has names etc and a field linked to the learners table that shows the attendees booked on the session (multiple select allowed). The learners table has a similar field linked to the sessions table showing the sessions that they are booked on to (again multiple selections allowed). What I would like to be able to do is have a new field on the sessions table that for example shows the attendees that did not show up (nothing fancy I would just use a linked field to the learners table and just input the learners manually, again multiple select allowed). But then I want a corresponding field on the learners table showing the names of sessions they have not attended, is there a way to populate this with the session name (stored on the sessions table) based on the d

Hello guys,I'm trying to create a formula for the main Name field on my table.I just can't do it, I'll be more than glad to write here the details and if someone can write the formula for this it will be great, and i will also learn that way how to create one in the future.My table is data from the computer inventory list in my office.I want the Name field to first start with the "User" field (the field type is "Link to another record" ) and after that it will have one space and then a Comma and then another space before the next field.Next I want the "Model" field (Single line text) and after that it will have one space and then a Comma and then another space before the next field.The last one is the field "Product ID" (field type is also Single line text) ,  before the field content i want it to have the letters/signs "ID:" and the one space and the the field content.For example i have the "User” John Jakson , he have a computer with the "Model" Apple MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021)

When automating from Airtable, all day outlook calendar events show as busy not free.Why is this basic functionality not available? It's causing issues for our organisation as users are not able to book time when we have an all day reminder from air-table. Other platforms like zapier etc have the ability to alter the state of 'show-as'.Is there anything in place to fix this?

Airtable accounts are a lookup field.Base Asset Tracker - Synced to Project Tracker to assign assets, pulls over information like producers. Also synced to Personnel base to assign assets to people. The synced Project table on the asset tracker currently pulls over the producer information but obviously as a single test field with the producers in a string out. Hello! I share my Airtable calendar view to my Google calendar so that I can see dates for different clients. A few days ago, I changed a date for a few projects and they're not reflecting on my Google calendar. I've refreshed and unselected the "Sync" button on my Google calendar app and it's still showing the old dates.  Do you know why this is happening? The dates that are showing in Airtable, I need them to show on my Google calendar correctly.

My daily use of my base involves a lot of calculations. Lately, AT is slow to the point of being unusable while doing these calculations. The base just hangs at "saving" until I manually refresh. I've split the base into four so that the base I'm now working in has a quarter of the records I used to work with, but this has not improved performance. Is there anything else I can try?

Hello all My script below, looks through records in a table to find any records that have a field value that matches the record that kicked-off the script (automation) when a button was clicked. The field used for the condition is a Single Line Text field (Tracker Cycle ID). The actual value being compared is passed into the script via input.config (matchCycleID).  I do not get an error but the script does not work as intended and the script editor tells me "This condition will always return 'false' since the types 'string' and '{ readonly matchCycleID: string; }' have no overlap.(2367)".  I would assume the value of the field being passed into the script via input.config is a different type of 'string' than the value in the record being compared (record.getCellValueAsString('Tracker Cycle ID')).  As a test, if i rewrite the comparison (line 6 below) as: if (record.getCellValueAsString('Tracker Cycle ID') === "Tracke

Hi…I have a field with ‘arrival date’, a field with ‘terms’ (which is days prior to arrival payment is due. This is a number and varies from record to record)(Both are lookup configurations) and I want the third field to calculate the date it would be if the terms number (such as -3) is subtracted from the ‘arrival date’. I tried DATEADD({arrival date},terms,‘days’) but it didn’t work. I experimented with DATEADD({arrival date},-3,‘days’) and with the ‘terms’ look up field just being an integer instead of the look up and those did work so I am not sure how to do this. Thank you!!

Hi all. I'm trying to embed a base that has five tables. Only the first table embeds. When I click it open I can see the other four tables (linked) but I can't click through to them. What am I missing? I know it's probably staring me in the face but I can't figure it out nor find an answer anywhere here. Thanks!
