Hello! How to link tables, but to include info in form of linked variants to choose from? Here is the deal. We sell cars. And need Airtable as a database to synch to our website. Our team members add cars to the database. The question is: How to make dropdowns in columns from linked tables, so they would “know” the previous column and provide an option to choose from a specific number of variants? Here is an example: We want to add a car. It has a lot variables, some of which are: “car maker”, “model” and “specification”. I would like to have a columns dedicated to each variable. But so if for example I choose “car maker” Mercedes-Benz, in the next “model” column I would get only Mercedes-Benz’s models, and after I choose, for example “S-class”, in the next column, “specifications” I would only be able to choose from that model’s specifications? How can I achieve that? Spent too much time trying to solve that problem Thank you!

Hi everyone, I need to have a “Filter” column that is pulling date values from 3-4 different columns and selecting the one that is the most recent. So if we have 3/10/2021, 3/10/2022 and 3/10/2023, the date that populates the “Filter” column is 3/10/2023. It’s not always consistent which column will have the most updated date. Is that possible to write a formula for? Update: MAX () doesn’t seem to work for anything other than Number fields. Desired outcome is to look at multiple Date column values, pull latest date value or if all the values are the same, output the same value.

Hello! When attempting to edit an app, I enter https://localhost:9000 into the Edit app dialog box, and I’m getting the following message: As well, I run into this screen when going directly to https://localhost:9000 in Chrome: This did not occur previously. I’m not sure what happened but I don’t know what I’m supposed to enable. There doesn’t appear to be an allow-insecure-localhost flag when I go chrome://flags/#allow-insecure-localhost. Any idea what might be causing this?

I have some interfaces where list views are grouped by client name.  I would like a "collapse all" or "expand all" function so that in those interfaces, it is possible to quickly expand all the lists or collapse them and then go one-by-one.  The only "global" controls that I see are filter and sort.  Are there others, or some way to do "collapse all" and "expand all" elsewhere?  Thanks.

I am building out an intake form for system issues. When a form comes in I want the ticket to be assigned based on who moves the ticket into in progress. I see that I can put conditions to assign to a certain person but not build it out based on how put it in progress. Any help would be great.

Once booked, PM allocates the instructor to that specific delivery. I've set automation to create record which get value from a field when a value is entered to that field (use trigger type "when record matches condition"). But the automation is real-time triggered when the typing has not finished yet, so the getted value is incomplete. For example, enter "300" but only get "3". How do I fix it please? I have a primary field which is an autonumber and I want to change it to a formula (pad the number with zeros, concatenate with another field etc.). My plan is to keep the autonumber, create a formula field, and then change the primary field to be the formula field.Is there any risk with that? can such action break any dependencies? scripts?

I have a complex formula I am trying to write, and unfortunately it says there is an error in my code, but I can't seem to work out what! I am trying to write a custom field that says LIVE, FUTURE or COMPLETED depending on the number of days away an event is, and in what region. The Google Vision API extension offered by Airtable works well enough if one wants to retrieve labels, logos and texts from an image. However, the Google API offers other capabilities, such as tagging offensive images and, what interests me most, calculating the dominant colours of an image or suggesting cropping possibilities. The Airtable extension doesn't seem to give access to any of this.Is there something out there already that might allow me to retrieve those extra features and insert them into a field in my database ?Thanks.  

Hey All,I'm looking for a way to add files that are not hosted on a public site. The server hosting the files allows for basic auth so I should be able to pass credentials. I'm wondering if it's possible to use `fetch` in an extension to get the file and then add the file to an attachment field. Definitely open to better ideas. Cheers,Collin

I'm using the highly useful Prefilled Forms extension by Kuovonne and it works as intended. However, there are some fields in my source table that apparently aren't qualified to be prefilled on the form and I can't figure out the principle. (The form itself is in the Assets Updates table.)The Assets table contains the prefill form URL in a field called Update Asset. It works fine but does not include a field called Asset Type that I want prefilled on the form. This field is not included in the list of possible fields to use when filling out the wizard for Prefilled Forms.Asset Type is a linked field to a third table called Types. In this screenshot you can see that I've reduntantly added two additional fields that contain the value from Asset Type, thinking there was something about Linked records that was a problem:But I can't use any of these fields to prefill either. If I have 5 blank rows, then values 5, 10, 15, and I sort by that column, those blank rows show at the top and I would like them to show at the bottom but the 5, 10 and 15 still sorted showing at the top. Is this possible?

Hello allI am trying to copy/paste a line from an HTML table into airtable. The table has several columns which are delimited by tabs (unicode 0009).Nothing unusual so far...I created a form so I could paste in the line into that maps onto a single field. When you do this it retains the tabs in the string...BUT...I am struggling to find a way of sanitising this data and splitting out the columns.Yes, you can paste directly into the table field and split it out that way. I don't want this, I want to be able to paste the string/line directly into a form.Using "\t" in formulas doesn't work.With Windows 11 and pasting from Chrome, CTRL+SHIFT+V does not strip out any tabs (it's for formatting only)So how else can I strip out these pesky tabs?

I don't know how to hyperlink it to that text. Hello All,I have looked around the discussion boards for an answer with no luck. I have a formula as follows:REPT("|",{Line Count}) When I use this, it just gives me an #ERROR! as the entry in the field. Entries with a zero in "Line Count" are blank. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. "Line Count" is just the result of number (from another field) being divided by 10,000. Is it an issue that it is a formula field? Any help that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Trying to get 'Full Name', 'Organization' in my primary field. My problem is that sometimes both 'Full Name' and 'Organization' are filled in, and sometimes it's only one or the other. I tried using the following formula, and it worked when one or the other is filled in, but when both are filled in, it doesn't add the comma and space. I'll attach an image so it's clear what I mean. IF({Full Name}, {Full Name} & IF({Organization}, {Organization} & IF(({Full Name}+{Organization}),({Full Name} & ", " & {Organization}))))

Hello,I'm working on an automation that, when triggered by a new record being created, runs a script. The script should take that record, parse a comma-delimited list, then create new records in a separate table. The new records are include the unique names, the count of each unique name, and a link back to the original record. I mostly have this sorted now thanks to some awesome older forum posts, but I'm having trouble understanding how to write new records.The error I'm getting is on the last line of code where the records are being created: Error: Field "fldjndAnd48IHziyd" cannot accept the provided value.I believe the issue is with how I'm assigning the records. Hi again,I'm facing an issue in base designing and I can't find the answer myself or in this forum, so I'm trying here,I have this field in the table named "Actions", linked to another table named "Inventory", every time I add an action, I can choose to add every item I have in my "Inventory" table.I want to keep my inventory up to date, so every time I add a row in the "Action" table, I want to -1 of the specific item in my Inventory section.Can you help me find a way to do it? Hi everyone,In an interface form, I have this field that is linked to another source.When clinking the "+ Add record", my end user will have the possibility to link a record from another table.Unfortunately, when I click on the "+ Add record" button, a new form open, with nothing but just the autonumber of the record, and no other details.As you can see on the picture above, just the autonumber, which is somewhat really tricky to know which record to select...Details for the form's parameters here :Can someone please explain how to show all the details from the other table on that form?Thank you a lot,Elie
