Hey,I have a “project management” table where I keep all my projects, with a lot of different linked records.When I change the status of a project to “send invoice” I have an automation that sends an very basic email to my accountant that looks something like this: Hey!The Project "PROJECT NAME" is done.Send invoice to “COMPANY NAME”:  “AMOUNT” + VATInfo: “NOTES”Contact: “CONTACT NAME”Email: ???Best//OscarI have ran into a problem however, I can’t for my life figure out how to add the “contact’s” email adress. Since the contact is only a linked record from “people” where all the details for that contact exists. I do NOT want to add an email field to my project view, since I have a LOT of people and different other linked records there, it will become a mess. Can anyone help?THANKS!!/O 

I am building a base for our clients. Goal is to have them access their data through a portal. They will want to print professionally formatted reports with our company logo and page breaks. Are the print options in portals the same as interfaces? If so,  this will not fit our needs. Would you suggest we use a 3rd party such as Documint?

We have an event that is in multiple different locations. We have a form where they select which location they want to attend. I want to automatically send them the calendar invite when they fill out the form based on their response. Ex: We have an event on Monday in New York, Tuesday in Boston, and Wednesday in Chicago. If they select Wednesday in Chicago they will receive the outlook calendar invite for that specific event.

I am from a company selling STEM supplies to schools. I have three tables:A “Material List” table with a list of materials we have in inventory An “Activity List” table with a list of our STEM activities. Each activity has a linked record field which is populated with linked records in the “Material List” table   An “Activity Material” junction table with the quantities of each material for each activity listed.  Desired Outcome of the Script:I’ve written a script that is intended to: Retrieve an activity record from the "Activity List" table using a passed record ID, whenever the list of linked Material records is changed. Get the linked materials for that activity. Compare the linked materials with existing records in the "Activity Materials" table. Delete outdated records of materials no longer linked to the activity. Create new records for materials that are newly linked to the activity, including setting the Activity and Material fields with appropriate record references

I would like to monitor when anyone changes certain field configurations (e.g. changes the field type, or edits a drop-down selection or similar) so that downstream dependencies can be adjusted or the change can be rolled back. The field manager seems helpful but doesn't seem to be proactive enough for this purpose.

Hi everyone! I'm trying to create automations such as emails and Slack messages to send reminders to my team to update certain projects (records) in a project management interface. When we were using data mode, I simply linked to the Record URL in the body of the message in the automation. Is there a way to link to a specific project/record in the record review layout? Hello, I’m trying to wrap the text in linked fields but I can’t figure out how to do so. In the example below, the Name and the Doc Gap Descriptions fields are linked. In the original field, where the field type is Long Text, the text wraps and is fully visible. In the linked field, the text is cut off rather than wrapped. How do I display wrapped text here? I tried seeing if wrapping would happen in a printout using the print option of “Wrap long text onto additional lines as needed,” but that doesn’t wrap the linked text either. Thanks, Erik

I have a doozy of a formula problem and would LOVE some help. My base has a DATE field called {RR Actual Start Date} and a DATE field called {RR Complete Date}. Date format for both fields is Local (M/DD/YYYY). Default is off, Include time is off, Display time zone is off.I created a FORMULA field called {RR Time to Complete} in which I calculate the difference between the {RR Actual Start Date} and the {RR Complete Date}. All worked fine (and I’ll explain more below) until I tried to create a Rollup to average the values in the {RR Time to Complete} column and kept getting a NaN error no matter what.Here’s the detail:{RR Time to Complete} in holds this formula:IF(OR({RR Actual Start Date}=BLANK(), {RR Complete Date}=BLANK()), 0, IF({Raw_RR_Diff}<1, 1, {Raw_RR_Diff})). We have an intake form to generate URLs with UTMs parameters. I have created a new form with additional functionality. During testing, I need both the old and new forms to work.My current Formula field concatenates the URL (Root Link) with the UTM parameters and values. There is also a check to determine if the URL provided in the Root Link field contains a "?". Hi guys,The easiest explanation of my problem is this:I have an orders table and I have a “Tags” field in that table (multi select) - one of the tags is “Awaiting Payment” When a customer pays, a team member will remove this tag. When this happens, we want to automatically leave a note in our Notes table.We already create notes automatically in other automations so are confident with that part, but the trigger is more of an issue?I’m thinking that maybe I need a “Tags Previous State” field to copy to?Not really sure, I appreciate any insight anyone can offer.

I created a database but not the way it is suppose to be, so now I created one with the same fields but it is relational now as i did not know how to build one. We’re encountering an issue where users in teams (e.g., lead agents, co-agents, and admins) can’t view and manage leads assigned to other team members, even though it's relevant to all parties involved.For example, we assign leads to the main sales agent, but if the agent is out of the office, we want to allow their co-agent or admin to view and accept the lead on their behalf. The team members currently get notified of new leads via and automation where they are cc’d into an email, but they currently can’t access, accept or manage the lead in the agent's interface as its only visible to the lead agent.Is there a way to set up team-based user permissions, or link team members one another so they can access each other’s data without creating separate interfaces for each agent or team? Am i missing something?  I prompted omni to make a new dashboard page with a custom element to view my rental inventory in the netflix style (like we were shown in the announcement zoom).  I asked it to create each row by the ‘type’ field and to show certain data when hovering over the thumbnail.  Maybe that part was too big a request…It created a standard gallery view of all my stuff…  Nothing really ‘custom’ about it.Anyone have success building custom elements with omni?

I’ve got a base with an “Event Finished” formula field that works like this:IF(DATETIME_DIFF({End}, NOW()) < 0, TRUE(), FALSE())It resolves into a checkbox, and I use it to filter out finished events from admin list views. My base currently sees about ~15-20ish events a day, which have times attached, and the folks that need to monitor the views have told me they find it really annoying when finished events aren’t filtered out of a given list view.And it works fine! I could be using IS_AFTER rather than DATETIME_DIFF, but otherwise, it does the job. However, I know NOW is a function to avoid. Its inaccuracies aren’t a big deal to me (if the formula clears out an event 15 minutes later than it should have, that’s not the end of the world), but its computational cost is becoming more of an issue. I assume NOW continues to recompute for every record, even those that are well beyond completed at this point. I’m trying to optimize things so NOW gets called less, so here are some question

Some of my text fields are VERY long with formatting etc. is that still going to work when being sent via a query string? Seems to so far but I would hate it to break.

I have created an automation that sends an email with text and numbers. The numbers are pulled from two dynamic fields. One field is a percentage and the other field is a currency. However, the percentage and currency formats aren’t making it over to the email (sent by Airtable). Looking for input on how to format the numbers into percentage and USD currency. 

Airtable Community, I am looking for AI use cases for Project Management. We at Kalypso use Airtable primarily for Project Delivery. We manage health reports, Stakeholders, Assumptions, Schedule, RAID, Scope, Deliverables, Meetings, Etc. Most of the AI use cases I have seen demonstrated are more Marketing focused. I am looking at the AI Plays for “Operations” and some of those are helpful. I am hopeful others in this community have found or innovated for Project Management, or “Operations” use cases, to benefit from AI and are open to share. Regards,Jason Knighten

Background: I have a feed that inserts data into an Airtable base using the API. Sometimes the feed inserts non-printing characters into one of the fields.Specifically, it inserts the UTF-8 Byte Order Mark (BOM), EF BB BF, in the middle of a string. The field it gets inserted into is a URL field.The BOM isn’t visible in Airtable, but when we try to use the link, we get 404 because of the %EF%BB%BF in the middle of the link.For example, the link as displayed in Airtable would be something like “https://community.airtable.com/topic/2341”, but what is actually stored is “https://community.airtable.com/topic/%EF%BB%BF2341” . Searching for %EF%BB%BF in Airtable using filters or automations gives no results.Question: How can I search for and remove the BOM from field values where it appears?

I’ve set up a base that tracks a specific team’s incoming trouble Tickets. The main Tickets table has a single-select field for Status, which can be ‘Submitted’, ‘Needs further details’, ‘Queued’, ‘In Progress’, or ‘Done’. I’m now working on reporting and management would like to know the full time it takes for ticket resolution, but also how long a ticket remains in each status before progressing.I can’t decide which of these approaches would be preferable: Have an automation create a new linked record in a Reporting table with a time stamp when a ticket is created, and then create an additional new linked record on the Reporting table for each subsequent Status update. Then I’d need to do a little more work to compile all of the records on the Reporting table that link to each Ticket (I’m assuming via a bunch of rollup fields).
