Hello Airtable Community! We wanted to gather all of May’s product updates in one place, to make sure we keep you in the loop. Here is a list of changes, big and small, that we introduced in May: Users now have the ability to change the trigger of an automation after creation! When rendering records in an email we now fully support: backslashes in a record’s content list and grid column names that include underscores truncating text fields when rendering records in a grid Custom scripts no longer have to adhere to the 1 second limit of CPU time. We officially launched the “Sync Source” field to help manage multi-source syncs. For new multi-source syncs we’ll automatically create this field when you add a second sync source. For existing syncs, you can enable the field in your sync setting. The View sidebar now supports fuzzy search. When an automation is broken we have new error messaging to indicate that an error has occurred. We’ve also added an explicit error to indicate wh
You can now toggle “Find Records” actions between searching by views and by conditions. Previously, this automation action was only able to find records based upon conditions. As noted in this new support article section, there are many cases where you may have already taken the time and effort to set up conditions in a view that you’ve set up, so rather than recreating the same conditions in the find records automation action, you can simply choose to find records in that view. Additionally, when rendering these records in an action step that follows the “Find records” action such as a “Send email” action, you can choose to include a link to your view at the bottom of the rendered record output. We hope this helps to further improve the efficiency of your automations!
Hi everyone! We’re excited to offer an invitation to try one of our newest features - the Google Drive External Source Sync. With our Google Drive External Source Sync, you can sync metadata of Google Drive files into Airtable. Now, you can collaborate with others and maintain connections to canonical Drive files via linked records. To sign up for the beta, fill out this quick form and click the link at the end. There will be a feedback link as well. Please note that this feature will only work if you’re on a Pro or Enterprise plan. Thanks, and let us know if you encounter any issues!
Happy Friday! We’ve just released a brand new automation trigger called “When a form is submitted”. This trigger watches for new records created from a form and is particularly helpful for teams who want to differentiate between records created by collaborators vs. form submissions. You can find all the details as well as a short video walkthrough in our Help Center. Note that this feature is currently in rollout for all customers; if you don’t see the trigger yet in the list of automation triggers, it should be available shortly. → View Support Article
Today we are officially launching the Gantt view. Previously a dedicated app, the new Gantt view brings a better UI and additional, more powerful features (such as milestones, “hide weekends” and nested grouping) to Airtable’s current Gantt offering. Gantt view enables you to visualize a schedule of related activities over time—like tasks, projects, or events—on a Gantt chart. You can use it for project management, production timelines, or resource management. What are the differences between the Gantt view and the (old) app? The new Gantt view has a number of differences and improvements over the prior app version, including the ability to: Create and navigate to Gantt views directly from the view sidebar. Make use of the full screen real estate without needing to access the apps dashboard / full screen mode. Adjust filters and record coloring inline without needing to switch back and forth between the app and a source view. Create standalone shares of Gantt views without exposing t
Hello community! We’re happy to announce that invoice details such as an address, VAT/Tax ID number, and/or additional notes can be added to your Airtable invoices. A walkthrough of where to find this feature and add invoice details can be found in this section of our help center article. It’s worth noting: The invoice details you add will not show up until the next invoice has been issued. In other words, changes made to invoice details are not retroactive. Invoice details are on the workspace level. If you have multiple workspaces, then you will need to add details for each one from the workspace settings page.

It’s a big day here at Airtable. Today, we’re sharing a bevy of new tools so teams of all sizes can accomplish more using Airtable. 🚀 We’ll share a few posts here in the community to cover all of the features that are officially launching today. To start, I have some exciting updates about new Sync functionality below. External source syncing External source syncing enables automatic—and continuous—synchronization from approved sources. Once that data is brought into Airtable, many new possibilities emerge. For example, marketing teams can sync in a list of top accounts from Salesforce for campaign planning. With this feature you can now sync data from Google Calendar, Jira Cloud, Salesforce, and Box. If your company relies on any of these services, this feature can contribute to some massive time savings by removing error-prone manual updates. Salesforce Automatically pull a business object (contacts, leads, accounts, etc.) report from Salesforce into a table on an ongoing ba

Once you start building out an Airtable base, the number of views (like the new Gantt view) can quickly multiply. To help better organize all of your views we’ve created view sections to enable base creators to organize views into collapsible sections. This provides a new way to manage your views - especially for bases that take advantage of all the different view types, including collaborative, personal, and locked views. Utilizing view sections will allow you to easily find and take action on your views while keeping your view experience organized. Learn more about view sections in this support article →

Hey Community! February is here and we’re starting off the month with a round of feature enhancements to the Gantt app. Milestones Gantt now supports milestones, which represent a single point in time and only require an end date.→ Learn More Hide weekends You now have the ability to hide weekends from your Gantt chart. When this setting is enabled, record date ranges will be represented in workdays rather than “absolute” days.→ Learn More Row height We’ve added a new option for a short row height, allowing for greater information density when you’re viewing your chart.→ Learn More Nested grouping You can now add multiple record groups (similar to our grid view) where groups of records can be expanded and collapsed in the left hand sidebar.→ Learn More In-app record creation Creating new records within the Gantt app is now much faster with the ability to quickly fill in a label and date fields.→ Learn More Share your feedback We’ve restructured our support content to help you better n
If you want to see your work organized by stage—from backlog to complete—you’re now able to do so on iOS with the launch of the kanban view (coming soon on Android). Move work through each phase with just a drag, and rest assured that everything is being tracked, whether you’re viewing it from your kitchen table, your couch, or in a museum. To learn more about using the kanban view, see our support article or our newest blog post. And as always, we’d love to hear your feedback about this new feature!
We just published an in-depth course to help you learn Airtable formulas! I’d love your feedback on this course and any ideas for other content that’d be helpful for learning about formulas. → View the course

Hi there! We’re excited today to announce the support for script templates in the marketplace. We’ve been excited to see this community forum become a rich place for Airtable users to help each other out and collaborate. In particular, we’ve loved seeing the Airtable scripts that are shared on here - script authors sharing the generally-applicable scripts they’ve written with the broader Airtable community. We wanted to support this type of script sharing in a first-class way, to get the scripts you write in front of even more Airtable users that could benefit from them. Introducing: Script templates in the Marketplace Script templates are pre-built Scripts that are now available in the marketplace. We’ve launched with 12 powerful script template use cases with more to come. As an Airtable user, you’ll be able to “install” a script template from the Marketplace, which will create a new scripting app in your base that will be pre-populated with the code for the script. Using the newly

You can learn more about using this new features in this support article. Let us know if you have any questions or feedback!

Hello again! Two new field types are now available to everyone today: Created by field The new created by field displays the name of the collaborator who created a record. A couple of notes: Since the person who created a given record will always be the same, there is no way to directly edit the contents of a created by field. Records created prior to the time when the created by field was enabled (June 2020) will have blank values in a created by field. Records created using a form will show “Anonymous” as the collaborator value in a created by field. A record created using an integration that uses your API key will show you as the creator for that record in a created by field. You can learn more about the created by field by checking out the support documentation. Last modified by field The new last modified by field type displays the collaborator who most recently edited the contents of a record. By default, the last modified by field will update when any changes are made by a col
