Hey everyone, We’ve got some exciting news about a long-awaited change to app cloning in Airtable! Who does this affect? This change is for all users of Airtable across all our plan types. What’s Changing? Currently, when you clone an app (e.g. using “Duplicate base” or “Take snapshot”), all the underlying object IDs (like table IDs and field IDs) are replaced with new ones in the cloned version. With this update, those IDs will now stay the same in the cloned app. The only thing that will change is the top-level app ID. Why This Matters: This update will make things a lot smoother, especially for users who’ve had to deal with workarounds due to different object IDs when restoring snapshots. How to review your set up: For most users, this shouldn’t require you to make any changes to your workflow. If you’ve built integrations or automations that assume object IDs are globally unique, you’ll want to review your set up to make sure that it can adapt to this new behavior of IDs being pres

Hello! I’m Ayesha, a Product Manager here at Airtable. We’re so excited to share an improvement to interfaces that will let you share some page types publicly in a read-only format. You can share a link to these pages or embed them in other websites. What are publicly shared interface pages? Most interface pages can now be publicly shared and can be accessed by a non-Airtable user without being logged in. These pages are read-only and your audience will be able to filter, sort, search, and expand details on your page. How do you create a publicly shared page? After you have published one of the supported page types, the share dialog will feature a new “Share Publicly” tab. Turning on the switch will enable public sharing using a unique link that is generated when the toggle is turned on. What does a public page look like? Hello! I’m Ayesha, a Product Manager here at Airtable. We’re so excited to share an improvement to interfaces that will let you print some layouts or save them as PDFs. What can you print or save as a PDF? For certain Interface layouts, you’ll now be able to easily print interface pages or save them as PDFs. We currently support the following layouts: List Timeline Calendar Record Details Individual record detail pages Up to 100 record detail pages in one PDF Charts We’ve also made some improvements to printing views from the Data tab as well for Calendar and List. How do you print? There are two ways a user can trigger an export in Interfaces: by hitting Cmd/Ctrl + P, and by clicking the “Print” option at the top of the page under the “...” menu. You can also choose “Format for printing” to help print-outs be more legible. This will change the background and border colors of records to make it a bit easier to read. What is not supported yet? It’s here! You can now configure form fields so that they display or hide based on the submitter’s responses in previous fields. Here’s how to use it in the form builder: Underneath the field title/description, turn ON the toggle switch labeled “Show field only when conditions are met.” Choose another field and the value or condition it should meet. Like with filters, you can add as many conditions as you’d like to a field. And here’s some useful tips: You can chain together multiple conditional form fields in a sequence—i.e., use one conditional form field as the condition for another form field You can make conditional form fields required! When a conditional form field is set as required, it is hidden by default until its condition is met. Once its condition is met, the form will still require it to be filled for submission. Today we're excited to release three new features that will greatly improve Project Management workflows in Airtable. These include a new gantt layout option, date dependencies which work across views and a better way to preview utilization when assigning tasks. 1. Gantt in interfaces If you ever wondered why we needed two separate views for timeline and gantt, so did we. Gantt is now a layout option within timeline view. This means you can now view and manage dependent tasks within interfaces or anywhere else you have a timeline view, by selecting gantt in the new layout toggle. 2. Date dependency configuration Powering the new gantt option in timeline is the ability to configure date dependencies which work across all of your views and interfaces. So if you connect two tasks in a timeline view but then edit the dates elsewhere, the dates will reschedule accordingly regardless. This is particularly powerful if you are working with the same data in multiple views for different people.
